Blessings Salena If it is any consolation I will tell you that when I was ab "babe" in Christ my Spiritual "mother/mentor" said to me that the more I would learn/know,that the more I would be accountable for....at that point I just said"Okay,I don't want to learn anymore,leave me in my ignorant bliss!" It isn't supposed to be easy, it is about overcoming adversity, and learning to be content and persevering. Casting you cares on God, knowing, by faith, that God works all things together for good to those who love Him, and are called according to His purpose. We don't do works to get anything, we do works because we have received, it is the natural outpouting of our faith, and gratitude to God. Learning to be thankful, not just through the pain but for the pain, does not come naturally, but supernaturally. What Jesus did for us, by dying on the cross, was not pleasant, that that is our model. Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed, shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. No one has any right to tell you how to spend your finances unless you open that door to them. Your finances should be between you and the Lord and your spouse of one has a spouse. Pastors can encourage people to use their money wisely however. Ok so can I ask when you bought your new car did you just buy it or did you tell the world you were buying it? How did the pastor know you paid $45,000 for the car? If your finances and what you buy are none of their business at some point it became their business. Just curious. Kind of in the same spirit as my response above you are telling others how much you plan on spending on a car. This can cause a couple different reactions in people. Those reactions can be anywhere from "that's so awesome. Go for it!" to "why would you spend that money for a car which gets you from point A to B and that money could go to more useful things." I think we have to be careful that we don't flaunt our financial well being no matter if it was not meant that way. Not saying you were doing this. This is merely and observation ?. Bottom line is that we all need to be careful as to how we go about letting others in on our finances. Sometimes while we may think it's ok to discuss our finances with others we have to be sensitive to those that think diferently about how money is spent. Sounds to me that the Pastor had a different view on money that you did and maybe could have been a little jealous or irritated that someone could go out and by a new car when he and his wife spent all they had so that they could Shepard the flock God called them to. Not saying it was right but put yourself in their shoes and be sensitive to others especially when it comes to finances. Remember that not everyone is as blessed as another with money. And money can be a very sore spot with people.

He has no business in knowing your personal financial situation or what you do with your money. That is between you and God.

Yes, we just have to have faith and trust that God knows what He is doing and his will for our lives is what is most important.

depends on the situation....and how. If a pastor sees someone who isnt being wise with their money, say buying a $45,000 car when they only make $25,000 a year and are &75,000 in debt, then yes, I think a pastor should say something-though in love, a snide comment in passing, isnt the way to do it. They should take the person aside and show them how God wants them to manage their money. However if the person buys something they can afford and is wise with their money, the pastor should do no more then to lovingly assure that you are being wise with your money. Love is the key word.

Schizophrenia is a very serious mental illness. It has nothing to do with a person being possessed or the spiritual world. Hallucinations are very common with Schizophrenia. Verbal and visual. The voices are only neurological.The voices are usually very negative. It is not a real person telling them these things.These voices are coming from their brain. Many times paranoia comes with Schizophrenia. A person with Schizophrenia needs very close watching by a Psychiatrist. Sometimes meds need to be changed if the ones that person is taking are not helping. God loves this person. If this person will only ask Jesus Christ into their life and ask God to give them an inner peace and to help them with this serious mental illness God will be with this person during the terrible times they are going through.This person can be saved. God will not necessarily heal that person. That is up to God. But the person will have the satisfaction of knowing God will comfort them if they will let Him. It is March and I finally have hope of losing all our snow. We are down to 3 tiny patches now. We had stiff winds, 30 mph with 40 mph gusts, and 53 degrees so the snow is nearly gone. A chance of more is predicted but it won't last this late in the year. They are even predicting some temperatures in the 60s!. The days are still cloudy but at this point I don't care. It won't be that many months now that we will feel like those down under feel now. Weeks of weather over 100 F and cloudless skies can get old, too. Variety is nice. By the way, we had an annual ritual of taking grandma Willamina out to see the fall colors, especially the sumac that turns such brilliant oranges and reds, and the aspen and cottonwood turn yellow. But we took the slow back roads. Grandma had a bad experience while learning to drive a horseless carriage and had panic attacks if we went faster than 35 or climbed much in elevation. She was sure she was having a heart attack. We grandmas get to be such characters but make such great memories. Humm. I think this part belongs with the colloquial terms we were discussing, shel. Or perhaps the derailing thread since I can never remember what the OP was. lol

OK, Snow, thou man of few words. Shel, we forget that Australia is nearly as big as continental US. Their mountain ranges of the east coast are older and lower, more like the Blue Mountains of the Pacific Northwest US, or the Applachians of eastern US. It doesn't surprise me that Snow hasn't seen snow since it occurs in southeastern Australia in Victoria and the mountains in of New South Wales. They are about 2000 miles away from the west coast where he lives. But I have been reading a lot about Australia since i got interested in NRL Rugby. I saw snow on TV on a rugby game. Australia has a fascinating history not much unlike our own in the western US. Snow lives on the west coast where the prevailing winds come from the Indian Ocean, I think. And they are warm winds, producing a more temperate climate like around the New Orleans. Highs are like where I am from 90 to 114 in summer, only we are dry and he is humid. Do you get wind from the interior very often, Snow? Maybe that is when you get the really hot weather. Once when we were at the ocean a hot front in the 100s came from the interior. That was really hot and humid after the pleasant 65-70 degree weather we had been having. But Snow only usually gets down to 45 and rarely below freezing. Sort of like New Orleans. So I imagine much of Australia being like Texas with a lot of grass land, with deserts like our Death Valley or Mohave as well as a lot of sage/steppe land and bad lands or scab lands like we live near. And there are fewer people in Australia, which might be nice. But their major cities run into the millions. I feel a kinship with Australia and Canada as well, perhaps because we all have been British colonies. It makes me feel like we are cousins or something. Unique but with ties. So that is my armchair expertise lol. How did I do for a person who has never been to Australia? Would it be better if I didn't post so I wouldn't display my ignorance? Feel free to correct. I love to study histories and cultures and learn all that I can.

So, Ive experienced that on my own body, in my life, so how does the gifts ended fit with THAT? You tell me? Ive never been to a "charismatic" church my whole life, all this Ive experienced my self only in a dead church! A lutheran dead church I say dead yes because it was. The Word of God does not suggest anyone "take up" or "pick up" snakes .......but to step on,walk over them You are "treading" dangerous ground & you have been there before,you should be able to realize this......I stopped reading to address the "Bible Only" statement you made......support your claims about this 'root" you speak of with the Word of God.....support these claims of this "Deliverance ministry",or exorcism by a priest..... Conversations with demons,getting to know the "root",rituals ,processes are not in the Bible.......the enemy will most certainly put on a show for folks watching a "deliverance" .....they will scream,thrash people around to put on a good "performance" that everyone be convinced that was a "tough one!"They have successfully convinced many a man that he have POWER.......do you really think a cross or holy water has power too,in the hand of a priest? And sad to say,some priests actually believe it! Deliverance is not "performed".......a true "deliverance" occurs when the oppressed (bound) person submits all of himself to the Lord,when he leaves his baggage at the foot of the cross,when he nails it to the cross,when he casts his cares on Jesus......."casting out" is a form of deliverance as well,there is no fuss,no muss,no theatrics...the demon is bound & cast out,period.....its captive is set FREE in Christ Jesus....... Dr. Karl Payne has been dealing with demonic activity within Christians for many years.... According to him through his experience and I would have to agree, if a Christian has any unrepentant sin in his/her life, or some sin that is repetitive, a demon can attach himself through that sin and have a great effect on the Christian in many other areas. And until the sin is dealt with you simply can not deal with the demon for it has the legal right to be there so to speak.

Does it matter whether they are inside or outside the body when they are messing with you? I have seen way more than enough scripture that can be interpreted as from the inside not to leave it as a possibility.

Well Josh, of course gender is His idea, but gender appears to be for procreation, I am not sure that Angels have a need for procreation. People needed to fill the Earth, and people also die off, and need to restock, lol. I see no need to speculate that Angels have a female gender, since they are never mentioned they either do not exist or it is not something we are intended to know, that I how I see it. If we want to speculate that way, we can invent all sorts of things.
