  1. Not only is Japan our ally, the little woodchuck threatened the U.S. and he is displaying his steps towards carrying out that threat. Neville Chamberlain gave Hitler time to further prepare for his version of global dominance. Should we sit back and wait for the woodchuck to make good on his threats?

  2. I may not be a good deal to answer your question for I left that organization in the mid 60's over doctrine issues..... Their people are mostly good people and thier church services without musical instruments has some of the best singing you will hear in a church. My problem was that they teach that it is baptism that saves a person and if you haven't been baptized you can not possibly enter heaven...... actually at the time I left they taught that you had to be baptized by a member of thier denomination to be saved. They do believe that works of the Spirit are no longer available and all the messages to Christians that God will send you will get out of reading the Bible. They do not believe in eternal salvation. I would say though they do study and are a very moral people and fun to be around. I do consider the people who attend there (my mother included when she was alive) are saved though they have a misconception as of how. They do believe that Jesus came and died for our sins and in his deity, They believe in the resurrection and all that. Although they do preach giving and tithing is a good thing, I don't remember them ever saying it was mandatory as some that I have been to. It is a lovely place to attend church although I do not agree with some of the doctrine..... but then again we attend a Nazarene Church and I don't really agree with some if it's doctrine either...... but the people in the three we have attended are the most loving people I've met anywhere..... so we worship with them and they accept us in the fold almost as members...... but they won't let us vote on things and that's ok.

  4. ‘I and my Father are one.’ (John 10:30, KJV). ‘ego kai ho patar ev esmen: (John 10:30: The Nestles Greek text). ‘I ((Subject)) and ((conjunction)) my Father ((object)) are ((verb 1st-person-plural)) one ((adjective)).’ (John 10:30, KJV). Oneness Pentecostals (Apostolics), and I used to be one back in the 1980s, would need to explain the use of the verb ‘to be,’ which a first person plural at John 10:30; ‘I and my Father (we) are one.’ This verse does not record Jesus as saying; ‘I am the Father,’ for such a direct claim by Jesus to be God the Father, would have included the verb ‘to be’ in the first person singular: ‘I am.’ But Jesus at John 10:30 instead applies a plural verb to both the Father and also to the Son; ‘are’ as in ‘we are,’ which is the verb ‘to be,’ (esmen) a present tense, in first person plural. This is why he specifically claimed to be God’s Son, and not God the Father himself at John 10:36; ‘Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?’ Secondly, why is the Greek neuter word ‘hen’ for ‘one’ used at John 10:30 rather than the masculine Greek word for “one,” which is the Greek ‘heis?’ This masculine word is always used in the Greek, to describe God as ‘one’ in the strictly numeric sense, and so logically it would be the only word which Jesus could use to claim that he is himself really God the Father in an absolute and literal sense. So the neuter word ‘hen,’ just means to be ‘one in agreement’ or to be ‘one in unity’ with another person, it’s used that way at 1st Corinthians 3:8, where Paul planted and Apollos watered so that were one (hen), which doesn’t mean that Paul is claiming that he was Apollos! Paul is just saying that they worked together as a team, but not that they were both the same one person! As a former Oneness Pentecostal, allow me to warn people against this error, which is sweeping through and taking over nominally Trinitarian Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches around the world. I do have a video on my own YouTube channel of me explaining this verse, however, I do not know if I am permitted to post this here, possibly the admins could help me with the rules.

  5. He is the father of lies, so why do we dwell on the negativity he tries to force feed us? He throws us tricks and shadows, and it is written that the time of tribulation he instigates will be cut short, else he deceive even the elect. We are not supposed to underestimate our enemy, but many times we give him far too much credit and think him more powerful than he actually is. God is on the throne and in control, and by His grace we are overcomers. What are some ways that you have learned to defeat the lie in your life? Let's share and encourage each other, not concentrating so much on the enemy's attacks but on God's goodness, greatness and protection. God bless

  8. Everyone will be held accountable to God for not only their action, but for the words we speak. That said, your question is too vague to give an honest answer. One could see this as you having to move due to a new job and your wife does not want to move, but you force her to move to keep the job. Another would be putting a child to be against their will when it is bedtime. Then there are sicker things such as spiking a drink so you could have your way. Can you see my point?

  10. Thanks guys for your replies, very encouraging. No matter whether it's to pull down your self-esteem, your esteem of others, or your perception of a situation, we must overcome the lie with the truth, and the enemy with the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (which is in fact the truth) Sometimes, like gdemoss, you are battling others' deception to reveal to them the truth of Christ and the present state of this world. We have been lied to about history, we have been lied to about current politics, we have been lied to about the food we consume, about the medicine we take, about sexuality, about our very existence. The father of lies is hard at work, but a city on a hill cannot be hidden, our light must shine! We must lift up Jesus, the Light of the world, that He would draw all men unto Himself. I have been told all my life that I am not good enough. Good enough for what? Or for whom? God loved us all so much that He gave His only Son for us. We don't deserve it, but to Him we are worth it. I'd rather take God's Word for it, and no one else's. Keep proclaiming victory in the truth! We are overcomers in Christ!!!

  19. Yes, unfortunately, there are those who are members that feel that looking at the differences is more important than looking at what binds us into His Body. You can see this all over the forums. We do, however, pray and hope that those who are solid in Him will point that in every belief, in every persons theology, there is some errors somewhere and none of us are perfect. Sometimes it is hard to determine if someone is trying to correct doctrinal errors, or if they just don't like a certain denomination. Other times, it is very blatant as to how they feel. We never use to allow Catholic teaching or Catholic bashing here, but it changed while I was absent. Now, it had been decided to allow iron to sharpen iron, but then again, when iron strikes iron hard enough, it does more damage then good. I have come to believe that tradition plays a huge part in the RCC, both due to theological studies and the fact that I came out of this church before I was a teenager and have some memories of they catechism classes. The Protestant churches do not hold much to tradition while the RCC and Greek Orthodox do, as well as a few others. The young and zealot believers see a great divide due to this and cannot see the straight and narrow bridge as it is small compared to the size of the gap they see. God needs those who will disciple young believers as we were instructed to do, not once a week, but daily. This is missing in this world, except for a small number who do their best to help people see the truth in all this mess, through His love, not denominational doctrine. Yes, for God so loved the world! We have had all kinds people come and go. Some were even shown the door. Those who choose to leave don't always tell us why, while others do when they request their account be deleted. Though I cannot tell you specifics, I can tell you that they do feel hated by the responses they get. This has been true, but what is also true is that I believe they are not used to defending their faith, nor do they have debating skills when it gets heavy. Some have what is called thin skin and get offended very easily. But still, this really should not happen when mature brothers and sisters discuss what they believe and why. I guess it speaks just as much of their fruit as it does their maturity. Sometimes they are on both sides. Chat is a place I cannot go into much as I cannot read nor type fast enough to respond. When there is an issue, and a Chat Servant is not present, I am asked to go in to resolve the issue, but that is it for me. I am unaware of what incidents people are referring to here, so I cannot speak of it. I will say that this is the prayer of all who serve here, that our members will take part in turning this site around and help it become a place where people can feel Christ, to learn of Him and His ways, to become mentors to others and help disciple. Just because one does not hold a staff position here does not mean they are not called of God. I am always reminded of 1 Corinthians 12:12-26 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be? But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Some may think that they need to be part of this ministry in order to have a position of leadership. The above verses proves that this is not true. We may have a position some may see as honorable, yet, we are servants, constantly in PM with people, stopping things from going too far, giving advice and encouraging people in how to post within the TOS, keeping the spammers and troublemakers out, etc. We give up time as mentors so to keep this place in the best condition as we can, and there are only a few who can be here enough to make a difference. I am not sure if the members know that they are the ones who are really available to lead by example, the ones who think they are less honorable because they are not part of the staff, but on these we bestow greater honor. Yes, we are here in different times during the day and night. If you take notice, there are only three board servant, and a hand full of chat servants, yet we all volunteer while holding jobs and having families. We depend on the members more than they realize to find us when trouble arises in Chat, and to report board posts when they see violations. There are hundreds, and sometimes thousands of posts created daily. There is not enough time in a day for us to moderate alone. Chat is a whole other world in itself, fast paced, constant changing topics, scrolling text, etc. I hope this reaches those whom it was meant for and God moves in them to become more critical to this site. We are all in one body, though we have different duties and purposes. God Bless.

  20. What is going on with the anti President Trump tactics is not a matter of a few large strikes, but a death by a thousand cuts, type thing and in reality, It is a race to the bottom. The media is gambling that they can tare President trump down enough to get the public to turn on him before the public gets tired of the negativity of the press and turns them off. The only factor that the media hasn't put into this is the damage to the American public and the image this bickering sends the rest of the world. Truth be told, the media is doing Putins job much better than he could ever of had, if he was indeed trying to damage America. If he wasn't, then they have done the deeds of those they claim is Americas enemies and if the are doing the deeds of an enimy of America, doesn't that make them America's enemy?

  22. Salvation is by the grace of God. We receive God's holy spirit the moment we believe. "For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit" (1 Corinthians 12:13). John 3:5-16 (KJV 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. 9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? 11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  24. The goal is to bring a freeze on the nuclear program. Getting their nuke capabilities at this time gone isn't realistic. China likes a divided Korean peninsula but things work better if NK stays a mouth piece and not a nuclear threat. It's good for the U.S. and China to sedate NK leadership. This stuff has gone on since the Korean war but for a period of time in the 90s when some agreement was signed but now they're getting to close to miniaturizing nukes and a delivery system so the game has been escalated. If N.K. can save face and at the same time freeze its nuke program this will all calm down. Easier said than done but something has to be done and I believe China is on board with that.

  28. Welcome! Can you describe your connection with God a bit more? Because many people go to church and pray. Doing so does not save. Only surrendering yourself to God's will and making the decision to love, obey, and trust Him fully saves. What you put in is what you get out. If these movies cause a problem for you, do not view them any longer. Ask for forgiveness from all sin and do your best to sin no more in that regard. But if you are truly following God, we know that no one or thing can take us from His grasp!

I would pretty much ditto kwikphilly and add that if you look at the way the bible talks about slaves, the laws are written in a way that dictates treating them way better than the way the surrounding nations did. Many of the things in the Old Testament that seem primitive compared to our standards of today were actually counter-cultural at that time and even progressive.

  31. Mat007, I have GREAT news for you!!! As long as you are worried about losing contact with God, that is evidence that the Holy Spirit is moving in you to pray and seek God. And the Word says God searches out those whose hearts are perfect (seeking and praying) toward Him. You see, God knows you have OCD and He is willing to deal with you and actually heal you from that. But He is a gentleman and He will only take you as far as you want to go. But IN THE MEAN TIME, while you are still dealing with OCD, He wants you to know that He loves you and will never leave you nor forsake you. That means that it's probably not a good idea for you to watch horror movies any more. Philipians talks about thinking about things that are good and peaceful and praying on those things. It is my personal belief the born again Christians cannot be demon possessed. They can be demon oppressed, but not possessed. One way to keep from being oppressed is to go to church, pray, read your Bible and keep away from toxic friends who would rather serve the devil than the Lord. And that even includes ungodly relatives. But again, the good news is, YOU are OKAY!!!!

  33. Kevin, You ask a very, very good question. It is a good question because in searching out its answer, you will grow in faith. Your questions boil down to law versus grace. The Mosaic Law given in the Old Testament was given to a people who had no law and it was for a time before the coming of Jesus Christ. Both stoning and slavery were set out in the Law and explained very carefully for the people and the priests to follow. God was establishing His people to serve one God at a time when every other culture in the world was polytheistic. Their practices (even the "good" ones) defiled those who followed them and God wanted His people to be holy. Therefore most sin was punishable by death, especially those sins that represented blasphemy or violence against others. Stoning was a punishment that involved everyone because God wanted everyone to realize that the sins requiring stoning were such that they defiled the entire community. God also outlined slavery in the law, but it was not slavery as we have come to know slavery. When a person became financially insolvent, it was up to his family to take care of them. They obligated themselves as servants and the family took care of them, providing food, shelter, clothing, etc. in return. If, at the year of jubilee, the individual did not want to go free for themselves, they could obligate themselves to permanent servitude (or slavery) by their own free will. This form of slavery was written into the law in order to provide for those who could not provide for themselves. It was NOT the involuntary slavery we have come to know today. Nevertheless, the Law actually provided for slavery in the Old Testament. When Christ came and established the Era of Grace by His death and resurrection, much of the Law was superceded by grace. Hence, with the woman caught in adultery, the men were ready to stone her, but Jesus set the standard by saying, "he that is without sin, cast the first stone". He then told the adulteress (because she was caught in the act), to go and sin no more. Jesus extended grace and forgiveness. The law against adultery still stands; Jesus did not change that. He merely instituted grace and mercy before judgment. His shed blood paid the sinner's death penalty for sin. So, as we become more mature in faith, we recognize what a terrible price He paid for us and we realize that we were bought with a price...the blood of our Savior, so we are now bondservants (slaves) to Jesus Christ. Again, though, we are willing slaves. So we can thank God for setting down the Law so we know the difference between right and wrong. And we can thank Jesus for paying the death penalty so we can still have fellowship with God and the promise of eternity in heaven.

And finding some disciples, he said to them, "Did you receive the Holt Spirit when you believed?" and they said to him, "We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit." And he said to them, "Into what then were you baptised?" So they said , "Into John`s baptism" Then Paul said, "John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on him who would come after him, that is on Christ Jesus." When they heard this, they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.` (Acts 19: 1 - 6) Marilyn.

  37. I pray in tongues as scripture tells me that these prayers come from the Holy Spirit who is praying for me about things I do not understand. I do this in private or under my breath, but it is always done in faith. If I cannot take scripture in faith in one place, why would I believe I can take it in another? I grew up in a family where neither denominations believed in the gifts, but God decided to show me a different path. Some will stand firm on not believing in the gifts while others cherish them. Why this is happening is beyond me as scripture is the base of our faith. Nowhere will any of us read that it is our personal understanding of scripture that is the right path, but the Lord alone is. Since it was God who gave this ability to me, I will not deny it in order to agree with someone else who does not believe, nor will I tell someone they do not have the gift of faith, or the gift or knowledge. The fruit of each of us bear witness as to our walk in Christ. Yes, there will be those who fake it as Satan tried his best to duplicate God, and is especially pleased when he is able to do so in a way where His children turn from scripture with doubt. We have to be very careful in what we choose to believe and what we call false as we are not the lords of another mans servant, only the Master is. If anyone does not accept that the gifts still operate today because they do not see them, ask yourselves why would that be? Is it because He has removed the gifts? I do not find the removal anywhere in scripture. Is it because He cannot find the faith in today's followers in order to give them the gifts? Jesus Himself asked the same question when He asked "when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" If anyone chooses to not believe, that is upon them, just as it is upon those who choose to believe. Don't let this divide the body any more than it already has.

  38. It's only given to some people, not to all. We can ask (God likes us to ask for good gifts, after all!), but we can't dictate to the Holy Spirit how He will manifest Himself in our lives. This is why I'm very suspicious of those who claim they can 'teach' someone how to speak in tongues, or prophesy. There's no 'technique' to it. Either we are given the gift, or we aren't.
    1 point
  39. The Scripture that supports this (though probably doesn't prove it) is I Corinthians 14:18,19, where Paul writes: "I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue." If he spoke in tongues more than the Corinthians, he must have done an awful lot of tongue-speaking. But if that was rarely or never in a church meeting, then presumably it was in his private devotions.

  40. Thanks Marilyn for your input to my wondering. Well how does one get that infilling/baptism of the Holy Spirit on their own. Does it occur with prayer and fasting or does it occur automatically and you just know you have that gift ?. I was baptized in a Pentecostal church and before that i attended the church for more than a year and i witnessed how the tongue movement took place there. Let me just say, it is real spiritual force that is at work . When i came out the pool, i sat with the others, there was lots of speaking in tongues, rolling and i know the people was genuine and could not put on an act like that, just don't know if it was the real Holy Spirit though, as i did not speak in tongues .. I asked the Lord in prayer ,as i was a bit unsure about this and i said Lord if this is for me, here i am , so i guess it was not for me. Just a little insight about my experience . As a side note here. I have been in many, many spiritual battles and I know what wicked spirits can do and they are master counterfeiter, as they first try to entice and seduce, when that fails, then warfare. Let me say too, i am not painting anyone as having false convictions. Every man has to be true to his walk and answer for his words and testimony and this is just mine. Also, if the Bible says the gift has not ceased, then who am i to contradict.

I have continued to speak in tongues to praise the Lord, privately. However in a group situation of believers, there is a different gift of tongues, in that it is a message for the body. Some one needs to interpret that message for the edification & building up of the Body of Christ. So - one is for private praying, & the other is for the Body, a message of edification. regards, Marilyn.

  45. God first time revealed Himself to me was when I was around 13. Then He showed me the sin in my life. I turned away from my sin and determined to follow Jesus Christ. I told my friends that I had asked God to forgive me of my sins. HAS GOD SHOWED YOU YOUR SINS AND HAVE YOU ASKED FOR FORGIVENESS? I believe that aliens and ghosts are probably demons and evil spirits. I also believe that they are seducing spirits that want to lead us away from Jesus. I also believe that the Holy Spirit of Jesus dwells in me. He shall lead me into all truth. The next thing that God led me to do was to buy a New Testament in a language I could understand. I was hungry to read the Bible and read the whole New Testament. No one told me to do this but God. HAS GOD TOLD YOU TO READ THE NEW TESTAMENT OR THE BIBLE? The only way I am sure that what God has said to me is really from Him is from what the Bible says. If I ask who is Lord and the still, small voice cannot say that Jesus is Lord, the spirit is not from God. This is in 1 Corinthians 12. It also must confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. That is in 1 John. When God speaks to me the words are also repeated to me many times and in different ways. A long established Christian might tell me the same thing without my asking. Or I may find the same thing in a Bible passage. Sometimes the same thing is repeated in a hymn or Christian song. I never go to someone else to ask what God is speaking to me or what i should do. I ask God in prayer. Then I wait for Him to answer me. Because we are warned "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. 1 Timothy 4;1. Is English your native language? If not, you may not understand the Bible very well. Some people who have had God speak His message to them without the Bible repeating the same thing have formed false teachings with evil fruit in their lives.

  46. "The Bible",Sahn.is the God inspired Word written down by men....not simply their account as we are told in the Scriptures themseves....so on the contrary it is not JUST SIMPLY a testimony to the Lord Jesus Christ,so firstly I think it is very important that we believe this to be true and accurate. We are instructed by GOD that faith comes from hearing, hearing the Word of God......the Bible IS the Living Word of God which was made manifest in the personage of Jesus Christ our Savior(Who is the Word)...In Jesus own Words to us He says He did not come to destroy the scriptures, laws, doctrines, commandments or any Word given to the prophets but to fulfill them.....so knowing the written Word of God is crucial. When seeking the Truth,God tells us He WILL reveal Himself to us in His Word.....I think is is very important, secondly, that when having a revelation personally given(you or anyone?)by Jesus Christ that the person pray for discernmant as we are warned that even Lucifer disguises himself as an angel of light ......Jesus left with us the Holy Spirit to bring remembrance to us(remembrance of what?)of the Word!!Any Word given us by either a ministering angel of God,Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit must be confirmed by what is written....and established by two or three witnesses.Even when one has a divine encounter it is always confirmed,God will send you to either someone or send someone to you that will help in determining validity. I'm really very unsure of what the "Ghost & Alien" question is but let me encourage you to pray, ask for discernment and to read the Word of God......praying you be blessed by God and lead and directed by the Wisdom and understanding that can only come from the Holy Spirit,I pray these things in the Name of our Lord and Savior,Christ Jesus Bless you,Kwik

  47. Hi JDavis, Darkness used as the noun(by your comparison to light)is a thing and is the absence of light. Cold is the comparitive absence of heat;lack of warmth-often thought of as an active force. Evil used as a noun is 1-anyTHING that causes displeasure, injury, pain ,suffering etc... 2-moral depravity, wickedness;anyTHING morally bad or wrong as an adverb it used to modify a verb by expressing time, place, manner ,degree, cause etc... I would say that it is a thing in itself not merely the absence of good but of course, good would be absent. (Grammatically speaking)As a Christian,I believe that it is anything that is contrary to Gods character God bless you,Kwik

  49. Dear Sculelos, I am very happy to hear you say that everything in the Bible is true although I do not see the connection to your believed evidence and I must agree with my brother in Christ "Fez",he is wise in telling you that you need'nt prove anything ,just read the Word. You did mention that the most important thing a Christian can do is to love God and love one another, that is very important, of course but do you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God who died on the cross and was raised from the dead on the 3rd day?He paid our debt and took our place to be reconciled to our Father in heaven, without believing in our hearts that He is our Lord and Savior it doesnt matter how much we love God or anyone else because we cannot come to the Father except by (and through)His son. All I am saying is I do pray that you know Jesus because unless I missed something(and thats possible)I did not hear you mention Jesus?God bless you and keep you and I am praying for you and I write these things with love,in the name of our Lord and Savior,Christ Jesus................................................Truly,Kwik
