  1. My Bible is my most precious possession. I cling to its words like I cling to Jesus Himself. It troubles me when people dismiss its words and say it does not pertain to today because I have tried and proved it and know it to be true. How can a person love Jesus and not love His words, or the word of the Holy Spirit as he spoke through the apostles? They are the words of life.

  2. It's always nice when an insult is thrown at everyone willy nilly instead of singling out any one person. The ratings were good for that show, from what I've read.

  5. it worked very well with others believe it or not.....and when a liberal show cancels a conservative show....without clear reason, its pretty clear as to why. I would also like to point out, that right now all your being is argumentative, for the sake of being argumentative, and arguing a point that is opposite of even what ABC has specifically stated. Now, if you think my view is wrong, thats fine-but please, do so with evidence. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2017/05/15/petiton-calls-for-abc-boycott-over-last-man-standing-cancellation.html

  8. Are you the tax collector or the Pharisee? Luk 18:9 He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: Luk 18:10 "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. Luk 18:11 The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. Luk 18:12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.' Luk 18:13 But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!' Luk 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted." ....me lately I like to look at what Paul said about his sin - 1Ti 1:12 I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, 1Ti 1:13 though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, 1Ti 1:14 and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 1Ti 1:15 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. 1Ti 1:16 But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life..... -- See Paul, even though a man filled with the love of Christ ....knew that his sins were the same as any other mans....in verse 15 he says : I am the foremost - meaning I am the chief of sinners.... He hoped that others would see that regardless of his past as a great sinner and persecutor of Christians that others would see that if God could forgive him....that he could YOU too! - Paul had hoped that people could see that even though the best of us sin still - that it does not change what Christ did for us, that it does not change the message given by a man ( for even the best will still sin) - Christ died on the cross to free us of our sins...not give a license to sin continually, but to know we are still of the flesh, we still sin at times when we know better, or may not even want to do what we do. Paul says in Romans - -- Rom 7:15 For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. Rom 7:16 Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with the law, that it is good. Rom 7:17 So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. Rom 7:18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out Paul says I AM A SINNER! - I am only saved through the MERCY of Christ - I cannot do what I desire for I cannot do it alone - I can only do things with the Lord giving me the strength to do so - Paul says in 2 Corinthians - 2Co 12:7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 2Co 12:8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 2Co 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Folks, it comes down to this - we can't cast out the message because of the messenger - we are ALL sinners - none better than the other - none worse - We are only free from these sins through the Grace, Love and Mercy of Jesus Christ. -- Joh 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Joh 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Joh 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. -- Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  10. Believe it, I know long day. Phew. Thank God it is almost over and we can both relax. I don't think we'll agree on this issue so I'm going to let it drop. I respect anyone's right to believe God doesn't call women to deliver the good news of his son to the world. I happen to disagree. When we are all one in Christ there's no addendum that makes exception to the "all". Blessings. Have a peaceful evening.

  12. An attack on diversity? Really? A canceled show is an attack on diversity? Networks cancel shows for one good reason. Ratings. Ratings make money. Networks want to make money. End of story. There is no conspiracy here, nothing to see folks, just move on. But of course if you really like the show, you are free to write into the network and ask that they keep it on the aire. I did that back in the 90's with "Alien Nation". It still got cancelled though.

  13. I used to sell newspaper subscriptions door to door and deliver flowers for a living. I also volunteered for years with my churches inner city bus ministry. My wife waited tables and cleaned houses. She volunteered with a number of ministries, doing youth work and teaching worship dance among other things. Never could we imagine that the Lord would take us to Israel and use us in full time ministry in this capacity. Neither of us ever did anything great in this world but we were faithful in some little things and God found it in His heart to promote us. 14. Hey Sight, I know you were asking questions the other day too. I just saw your comments in the group chat, so looked for your post. And for what its worth, here is my two cents... Have you ever known a family and wondered how they could all be related despite them all being so different? I think the same goes for Christians. I have always thought of Christians as people who are acknowledging that they have done wrong and that they need Jesus. We are all at different stages in our walks with the Lord, even though we have chosen to belong to a new family of Christ. And so, not everyone who calls himself a Christian is at the same level of maturity. So just because someone calls himself a Christian, it does not mean that I am going to blindly follow him. I have a few people who I really respect and look up to for advice. I know that they will not just say what I want them to say and I value their input. However, I do think that there are people that may be in our lives so that we can both grow. Some of this growth may not be comfortable. Some of what you are going through may not be comfortable, but could it be a period of growth for you, or be an opportunity for you to be able to be a guide to others who, though on the journey, need someone to come alongside them. Hope it helps,

  16. Amen Davida.. Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, 'Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?' She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, 'Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.' Jesus said to her, 'Mary!' She turned and said to him, 'Rabboni!' (which is to say, Teacher) (John 20:14-16). And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him (Matthew 28:9). They were witnesses that Jesus rose from the dead, they didn't preach..

  17. No one blames you for feeling hurt and betrayed, even if he believed he didn't have it. He will have to live with himself for having given it to you and put you at risk for other disease due to his promiscuity. But as others have said, what is done is done, you can't go back and undo it, you have to deal with what is. Your marriage won't survive if you can't forgive. Bitterness will destroy you and even if you were to remarry, the bitterness will affect that marriage as well. Heb 12:15 ESV See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no "root of bitterness" springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled; Forgiveness is a decision you make. No one is without sin. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No one is righteous, no not one. In fact, the sin of unforgiveness and bitterness might be worse in God's eyes than his sin and what he did to you. So my advice is that you confess your bitterness and ask your husband to forgive you. Then make a habit of forgiving before it gets dark--that same day. Keep short "lists". It is one of the keys of a long and happy marriage. Eph 4:26 NKJV “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath Eph 4:27 nor give place to the devil. Praying that God bless you and help you deal with this all according to His will, and that He give you His strength and His love to help you overcome your pain and grief. Love, Willa--married 54 years

  18. in this case, it pretty much is, and you have yet to prove that they did it because of money. Fact is, I did find an article with abcs "reasons", according to fox news it was a "scheduling conflict" however, being it was their number 2 show right now, and viewer wise, came in at number 3 overall, its safe to say had they wanted to they could have made the "scheduling conflict disappear" and quite frankly, theyre not going to come out and say it was for politics even when it was-it would alienate their audience. They saw what happened to A&E when they tried their stunt with Phil Robertson-so theyre not going to publicly admit it and risk going through A&Es debacle. However, it seems from the outrage starting up on facebook, it may already be to late.

  19. hard to offer evidence, when it hasnt been presented. Your the one who claimed it was for money reasons-and you havent provided any evidence to support that. I said they hadnt listed a reason, which so far, they have not, and you dont cancel your number #2 show for no reason, and licensing, isnt a "good" reason if its your number 2 money maker.

  20. you keep saying that, but yet, ABC has yet to list any reason-it was their number 2 show. I can almost garentee that money had nothing to do with it, in fact quite the opposite-you dont cancel your number 2 show, and keep the shows below it....doesnt make sense money wise.

He met me after the storm and when he heard I'm a Christian he said Good maybe I can help him convert Ray. How do I convert a man who dislikes his daughter bc she's short. From what I've seen the whole family is not tall. He is weird. I use his store bc it's right outside my door and I have a problem walking more than a few 100 feet. I felt better after I made this post. I needed to get this off my chest. Thanks.

  22. If you truly were a virgin when you got married there is no question that the STD came from him. He should have been tested before you married him and had sexual relations with him. Especially if he confessed to " being out there". There is an epidemic on our world today of STD's. I think you need to give this whole situation to God with much prayer. Have you and your husband discussed this and have you expressed your feelings to him of how you feel? Communication, openness and honesty are very important in a marriage.

  25. that is very true. I was listening to a talk show host today, and according to him, last man standing had the second highest rating for scripted shows on ABCs network, so you know ratings had absolutly nothing to do with it, just pushing their liberal agenda. If they dropped it because of "ratings" then its because pretty much everyone hated ABC to start with-which isn't true.

  27. It had nothing to do with ratings, last I heard the ratings were as high as they've always been. And, had it been due to ratings ABC would have no problem with coming out and listing the reason they cancelled it. Their silence speaks volumes about the Lefts hypocrisy. Nvm the fact the show made just as many cheap shots at conservatives as it did liberals. The fact remains liberals can't stand anything that goes against their viewpoint, even a sitcom cracking jokes.

  30. It was easier to endure persecutions as a single person; and knowing they were coming on the whole church he had concern for the people with wives and children that they might not endure should they have to watch their loved ones suffer. 1Co 7:26 I think that in view of the present distress it is good for a person to remain as he is. 1Co 7:27 Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be free. Are you free from a wife? Do not seek a wife. 1Co 7:28 But if you do marry, you have not sinned, and if a betrothed woman marries, she has not sinned. Yet those who marry will have worldly troubles, and I would spare you that.

  31. Spock, Davida is right ,her and I believe the same, we only live by the Word of God ,remember what it says in Revelation about people who add to the Bible? I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. Rev.22:18 1 Cor.2-6-16 6 We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him— 10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”But we have the mind of Christ. It's the Holy Spirit who helps us to understand the Bible ( Gods Word)

  32. I am aware of this all too well, which is why I question how you could say instruction to the church from any NT book is not for us all when it is speaking to us all. If we took your idea, then every book of the NT would not be for us as they all had their specific audiences.

  34. Why would I say that remaining single was only for a particular time? If you read Paul's words, and not stop at verse 7, you will also find the following: "But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am; but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion." I am sure Paul referred to the idea that if a person remains single, they could devote all their time to His work. Yet, Paul also indicated that not all are like that. Do yo see something wrong with that idea?

  35. It is not misogamy to not let women to have authority over men or to teach them. It is Scripture. We either choose to obey God or we make excuses to disregard it. 1Ti 3:1 AMP THE SAYING is true and irrefutable: If any man [eagerly] seeks the office of bishop (superintendent, overseer), he desires an excellent task (work). 1Ti 3:2 Now a bishop (superintendent, overseer) must give no grounds for accusation but must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, circumspect and temperate and self-controlled; [he must be] sensible and well behaved and dignified and lead an orderly (disciplined) life; [he must be] hospitable [showing love for and being a friend to the believers, especially strangers or foreigners, and be] a capable and qualified teacher, Tit 1:5 For this reason I left you [behind] in Crete, that you might set right what was defective and finish what was left undone, and that you might appoint elders and set them over the churches (assemblies) in every city as I directed you. Tit 1:6 [These elders should be] men who are of unquestionable integrity and are irreproachable, the husband of [but] one wife, whose children are [well trained and are] believers, not open to the accusation of being loose in morals and conduct or unruly and disorderly. Tit 1:7 For the bishop (an overseer) as God's steward must be blameless, not self-willed or arrogant or presumptuous; he must not be quick-tempered or given to drink or pugnacious (brawling, violent); he must not be grasping and greedy for filthy lucre (financial gain); It is God's requirement that men take the role of authority in the church as well as in the home. Those who choose to disregard God's word and make excuses for not honoring it are free to do so. But by the same token I am free to set myself up as the authority in our home and expect my husband to follow me. But the Holy Spirit does not allow me to rebel in this way. You have to answer to your own Master as well.

  39. Hi wingnut, `All scripture is given by inspiration of God,` meaning God wrote it through others. All scripture is given by God to reveal Christ. Many think it is all about us. However we can read God`s word and learn of Christ and His purposes for - the Body of Christ, Israel and the nations. Many mix them up and make it all about us again. As to the Holy Spirit teaching the disciples all things Jesus said to them ....Jesus never told the 12 disciples concerning the Body of Christ, as their purpose was in regard to Israel. regards Marilyn.

  40. You pose an interesting and popular question. The bible tells us how we can be guaranteed salvation Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And Rom 10:8 But what does it say? "The message is near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart." This is the message about faith that we are proclaiming: Rom 10:9 If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. But that doesn't explain the person on the desert isle or in the middle of the jungle that has never heard the name of Jesus. The bible also tells us Php 2:10 that at the name of Jesus "every knee should bow," of heavenly ones, and earthly ones, and ones under the earth, Php 2:11 and "every tongue should confess" that Jesus Christ is "Lord," to the glory of God the Father. I have heard it discussed that no one knows when that opportunity can come, only now ....or even later, but God knows the heart of all when it does happen.

  41. In regards to this and how it pertains to biblical teaching I think you will help yourself and those of us reading with our learning if you refer to where in the bible you have read some of the things you are writing about. Otherwise it will be something like "well so and so said...." It's easy to repeat something we have heard, believing it to be factual only to look it up and find out it is actually far from true. This happens a lot when people talk about the bible. I'm not suggesting you are doing that, but it would be a lot easier for me if you were to refer to where you got your information. Doing that helps us all understand how we come to our conclusions and whether they are informed or not. Blessings, mike2

  44. Ya I'm with you on your first sentence. Once the ark door was closed, Lot being grabbed and pulled out of Sodom, Rahab being extracted before final destruction, fire, sitting in faith, waiting. The righteous being scarcely saved, deception to deceive the elect is possible, a delusion for all who do not love the truth to believe a lie. I'm not sure where in the scriptures a case could be built for massive salvation after the rapture. I understand it as taught in despensationalism but where in the text do we see a pattern of things that happen the way left behind ideology suggests? In the Old Testament we see types and shadows of doctrine being played out in stories and these things do not set or make doctrine but illuminate doctrine for further understanding. Josephs life typified the Messiah as did all the righteous characters in the text in some way. We have examples of God rescuing His people and all of them have something in some way to do with His final rescue. Where is the despensational pre trib perspective played out in any of these rescues? It's the time of the end, the coming of our LORD, our blessed hope, Jesus said watch and be ready. People having a second chance when deception will be at its height without the Holy Spirit convicting the world of sin and God sending a delusion? I'm not sure how all these things will work and the timing sorted out of things to come but ya, I'm with you on your first sentence.

  45. Blessings Kevin Welcome to Worthy, great to have you here.....Can you be more specific, are you talking about Egypt enslaving the Hebrew people or "bondservants"as in the culture and customs of that time etc......there is much in the Old Testament to explain spo what is it that you have a need to "reconcile" Stoning was the customary "capitol punishment" as the LAW called for, much like in the days when the punishment was "hanging" a man who committed a crime that imposed the death sentence, today men are given a lethal injection or are eloctrocuted......They still do "stone" people in many parts of the world....... I'm not sure what you are asking but we(Christians) are not bound by the LAW,Jesus said... Are you a Christian? With love -in Christ,Kwik

  46. If we follow that line - it might display pharisee attitude, no? @Bopeep 1909. There might at some points – our things - seen by others. Yes there will be be patterns. And yes, as Christians we are still covered for this single day. Optimal change is better to come soon – I agree. This Luke 18 – I read like Hippi shwoed - more as a request for good horizontal attitudes. The challange may come to learn a loving attitude facing obvious shortcommings in a brothers life. @Dear Hippi! You have chosen a great text. Thanks. You may want that people read here - to admit something. Than we may dare to move on. There will be more to discover. Get people along side you. Work to gether with them. What can be theire spiritual giftings. And what is yours. I have hope – and this person is loving me. That continues to be verry best ground for the good fellowship. Let me combind with your teaching of our chapter 18 taxcollectors parabol. two more texts from Luke chapter 15 and than chapter 7 also. Than I come to: Has Luke more to say? Yes. let me see for this Luke 15. Would the perspective of an elder son (parabol of the loving father) – speak simmilar to many here? Yes! Luke is a skillfull eye opener in this. And I like that quality of Luke 18 scripture. This Man that is doing right. may come – similar to Simon (see Luke 7) into a comparrison to the real challenges of Love towards others. Dear Simons among us, are you not doing so many things right? Now, will you start to see this woman, that has shown love. Best - Melony
