  1. We have to remember that we have a secular government and that the President represents all Americans, of all religions. With that in mind, it is each of us, individually, who should represent all true Christians. It is not logical to expect any modern-day American President to "represent" all Christians since there are so many different "Christian" denominations with different systems.

  2. Of course we can, Abby. And we do have major common ground; our Lord Jesus Christ.

  3. the constitution is the current ruler..... Trump only fills a seat that the constitution created, but he still is under the constitution. He can't do just anything he wants to. He has duties to fulfill and has limits on how to do them.

  4. Agreed. Is this like don't worry about the speck in your brothers eye?

  5. I've never said an unkind word to you either, Abby Joy. Disagreement is NOT the same as just being mean. Try not to take things personally unless they contain the word 'you'. I surely don't.

  6. He's only required to be accountable to God....not us. We can have whatever opinions of him we please but, in the end, they don't matter at all, faithwise.

  7. That is unfair. I have never said an unkind word to you. Correcting an error is not unkind. Ignoring error so that the wrong information is retained thought to be truth is unkind.

  8. He does not have to meet your expectations in order to be a child of God known by name to God. We should comport ourselves as members of Christs body and not worry about what we think others need to do to meet our approval in that.

  9. That is true, according to the TOS we are not to defame anyone else's faith or deny their Christianity. I have reported that post.

  11. You can't say that another, who professes to be a Christian, is not one. That knowledge belongs to God and Him alone. I find your statement repugnant.
    3 points
  12. I don't think you have the knowledge to decide that.... What power do you have to declare that? From what I hear he has not been a christian very long, but you really shouldn't say he's not a christian. We're not supposed to do that here as I understand it.

  13. You post a story now I have a story that goes along with this. (its kind of a long story sorry) Back in my 20's I was working 2 part time jobs. One job my hrs were 7am to 12pm the other 1pm to 10pm. I had just enough time in between jobs to go back to my apartment, eat something before heading out to the next job. I had no days off as any day off from one job meant I was working at the other job. It was wearing me down. I would sometimes get a Sunday off in which I went to church. I was worn down and deeply depressed about everything. After the service people would run around shaking hands with everyone and being all happy and jolly about it asking "how are you?" This one guy would come up to me, shake me hand and would ask "how are you?" to which I would just nod and say "I am fine", and he would say "That's great !" and walk away to shake the next hand. This went on for a bit and one Sunday in the dark debts of my depression I though I am just going to tell him how I feel and see if he really hear me. So that Sunday after the service when the same guy who always shook my hand came up to me all happy and jolly ask me "how are you?" I answered him by saying "Well I am suicidal." Without a blink the guy shook my hand and said "That's great!" and walked way happy and jolly ready to shake the next person's hand. At that time I made it a point in my life to never ask the question "how are you?" without really meaning it. Oh, and I wasn't really suicidal back then and I felt kind of bad for saying it after I said it. But I felt worse that the guy had just walked away. Oh, and a happy ending to it all. I got full time at one of the jobs and was able to quit the extra job. Things got better after that. And I like your post with the cartoons.

  14. It was posted in the wrong place. Before this was posted on worthy, I had read about it and discussed it in detail with many others. What more could be said by me in this thread than what others are thinking or posting. There is no need for me to express my views on it.

  15. Theres a cliff in australia that became a popular suicide point. However, one man who lived nearby saved many of these people. When he saw them there prepping to jump, he'd invite them inside for a cup of coffee and a chat. Theres a reason I posted that story, something Ive noticed that we Christians can do that while well intentioned and nothing wrong with it may be not totally correct. Scenario- Bob sees Steve looking down, He asks him if hes ok. Steve says no, Bob then tells him something like God knows your struggle and Ill pray for you and goes about his way. And that's it. He doesnt take the time to ask Steve whats the issue or show any interest. The issue is this-Like the man in the first story, we never know what impact we can have by taking the time to show some interest or concern in peoples lives and issues. By all means pray for them and tell them about Gods love but why not ask them if they want to talk or take the time to try to help? I flat out hate it when Im feeling depressed and when I tell someone they tell me something super spiritual or say theyll pray but dont take the time to at least ask me what happened and Im not the only one who pointes that out. This isnt meant to blast people for being uncaring because Im sure we are but its something I think we all should be mindful of in the situation.

  17. President trump is correct when he says they worship death.... Because of thier bleiefs of what happens to a Muslim when they die, it really is a death cult.... Mohammad made it that way to keep his army fighting. But we must also keep in mind that not everyone is supposed to participate in Jihad fighting. There are very strict rules as to who can and who can't and when Jihad happens. For instance the young man who blew himself up last week had to have both his parents permission to do so legally according to Islamic Law. they can only do so at their own will if both parents are dead.

  19. I don't remember God telling Moses to go change clothes when they were together..... just take his shoes off... I'm surprised the Pope doesn't require that also.
    2 points
  20. Well it is certain that President Trump does not present himself as "President of all Christians" or as the "Christian model of a President", the Pope is promoted as the head of the Christian church by his own organization and by many news outlets. So then two very different sorts of leaders here by design.

  22. When someone dies in Jihad, they go directly to heaven and so do their families when they die..... if that doesn't happen then when a muslim dies, they remain in the grave completely conscious of what's happening around them.... they remain that way till Jesus comes back and raises the dead. Being killed in Jihad is a really really big thing both for the jihadist and his/her family. The afterlife for women depend on thier family unless they are called to fight..... gays are just a waste from the muslim perspective.... most leave muslim countries if they can.

  23. when you have been here for a couple of years come back and tell me that..... you may start a thread here but you really don't have any control what direction it goes except to ask nicely that we return to the OP. I happen to know why Abby posted what she did and it really didn't have anything to do with you and the ultimate outcome of the thread. We get hundreds of people who come by here and just read.... stop by for a peek and go..... so when something comes up that doesn't really fit in with your thought just remember that there are many of us who post things that God tells us to for others to read..... and sometimes it's meant for someone who is participating in the thread and sometimes it just that people who pop up here from a google search may need to hear it. So just don't fight it and carry on with your conversation with those participating with you in the thread..... and please don't ask me not to post something God told me to post.... or Abby for that matter.

  24. Yes. It's always someone else's fault. It's my parents fault I'm not handsome and rich. But at least my wife is beautiful, as God and I see her. The women of the Muslim religion: some have even been suicide bombers; some are articulate and appear intelligent until they start spewing their special brand of hate. The men are getting 72 virgins, what about the women? Will they just be satisfied to be left alone and not subject to gang rapes?

  25. I would love to have a true Christian president. But also look at the Christians who have soiled the title as well. Jim Baker, Jimmy Swaggert, etc. Just because someone calls themself a Christian doesn't mean they always act in. In contrast many people who may not seem Christian will do more Christian like acts.

  29. Don't you find it odd that this thread is titled , Trump meets with Muslims, Jews, Pope, who represents all Christians. And what is featured is a video of then President Obama meeting with Francis. Not President Trump! It is called diplomacy. It is requisite that a leader of the free world, our President, show respect for the leader of a nation who visits our soil by invitation. And Pope Francis, every Pope, is the leader of the RCC but most importantly as pertains to nations, Vatican City! Which is a sovereign nation. This is the appropriate article to accompany the header of this thread don't you think? The Obama's are irrelevant today. 35. I'll take that as a no, then. But since I'm not 'multiple people', I'll opine that the young lady's statement reflects an all too common one. I have to admit I had never heard of Ariana Grande before this tragic event (I'm not her target audience). Her 2015 statement may have been her attempt (or her publicist's) to gain notoriety by jumping on the 'hate America' bandwagon. There is a high degree of naivete among young people - particularly millennials. It's 'cool' to hate America or Americans, but one would hope when they spout drivel such as this that when the tragic events occur - committed by those who ALSO hate America (or more accurately Western values) - it just might cause them to re-think. Blessings, -Ed

  39. If infant baptism was true, why did Jesus wait until he was around 30? Baptism and dedication are two different ideas. One can dedicate how they raise a child to God at any age, yet baptism has always been at a time when one chose to obey Christ and be baptized. Nobody is denying a child to seek Christ if they do not baptize them as an infant.

  42. It's well written. It gives insight into understanding the pursuit of the left wing media and the worst offenders there. Trump is an intelligent man and he has a vision for America like unto working toward a successful business venture. You have to cut what is dragging the bottom line down, and install what sustains growth. Trump is approaching his management from the oval office like he would if he were heading any other corporation. Which America essentially is. And being he's a record of success the left that thrives on parasitism and enslavement of the masses feel the threat of his success ending their machining of the country and the middle to poorer classes. Remember American history. Democrats instituted slavery. Republicans abolished it. Democrats instituted a neo-slavery in the segregation laws after the emancipation proclamation. And they installed welfare also. Now the Democrats are turning to the worst possible ideology in strong socialism by steps. Beginning with an ideal that never got off the ground even to the chagrin of Kennedy. Who championed socialized medicine to no avail even unto his death. Along comes an educated socialist with communist allegiance and whalah! "Obamacare" becomes the law of the land. And it's destroying the country and families. High premiums, enormous deductibles. Lies that got it off the ground and into national law. Trump knows all this and is looking to reverse the destruction the Democrats intend for this nation. And that's why they hate him on the Hill. Because he's cracking the shell of their facade that the career politicians have crafted to their benefit for decades. And that's why they'll lie, spread rumors, spread gossip, just to undermine his credibility as president with the base that elected him. While they commit to obstructionist agenda's in the legislature to forestall everything he hopes to get passed through the legislative process. That's why he resorts to EO's. Because he is aware of the adversarial framework and hostile takeover tactics in big business. Only American politics is the biggest. He doesn't have to be a politician to get the lay of the land. He has that. The career politicians want him to fail because they want America to become what they've worked generations to create. And Trump thinks more of this country than to let that happen without a fight now that he's in a position to put a stop to it. It's a great book. I highly recommend it. It puts a new light on Donald Trump that isn't corrupted by the left wing bully tactics that intend to slander, and demean his competency. He's highly competent! That's why the left is so determined to stop him. Because they know that. He use to be a Democrat. And they know that too.

  44. "And with sugar and too many carbs in my system i just crave even more. " There are good reasons for sugar and carbs creating a cycle of constantly wanting more. One approach that has worked well for me is to switch to a ketogenic / low carb high fat lifestyle. In simple terms, you eat minimal carbs, adequate protein, and enough fat you aren't ever hungry. Your body switches to use fat as the primary energy source. Lower and constant glucose levels generally result in higher and more constant energy levels. Note that while this leads people to getting down to their ideal weight, it is more of a lifestyle change than a temporarily diet. If you decide to investigate this, research all that's involved so things go well. I switched over the first of this year and have no plans to change back.
