  1. We are supposed to judge things, actions, whether they are godly or God's will. Rom 12:2 WEB Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. We should not judge people. Those who are not born again are damned to hell as were we all. Those who are born again answer to God, as do we. God judges righteously and sees the inner man. He doesn't judge outward appearances but looks at the heart. We don't usually have enough humility to correct others, and certainly not enough love. So people feel our disapproval, not our compassion. I am speaking as one who fails often in this matter. Perhaps that is why God has allowed me to bare the brunt of the the criticism and condemnation of other Christians so often. Perhaps God is still working to increase His loving compassion in me.

  2. My family unit requires healing. My daughter has become distant as she spends more and more time with a boyfriend who is having a negative influence on her. Instead of being the happy, caring and loving daughter she once was ... she is becoming rude, secretive, selfish and unkind. I love her but I don't particularly like her current attitudes. Her Dad is hurting bad too. I am so very very sad. I don't know what to pray for anymore

  4. This is such a famous verse isn't it! I think we need to remember that what we dish out to others, we shouldn't be hurt when it comes back to us in same manner and force (the measure we use...) If we are to be critical about a matter, first check yourself eg: womens' dress standards - how am I stacking up in that department, before I cast a critical look up and down another woman. Clean up my backyard first before I can help clean someone else's. Matthew 7:1-5King James Version (KJV) 7 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

  6. "You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar." (Course one might add the question; who wants to catch flies?) The old adage, or proverb if you wish, was popular among the elders of my youth. I never quite caught the context in which it would arise, but I heard or overheard it often enough for it to stick with me even as I visualized it and compared it literally by using ammonia as a third alternative. I did catch a lot of flies with ammonia in a glass. Seems they would drop right in the glass as I raised it up under them. MY efforts resulted in my ending up with a lot of dead flies. But just who wants a collection dead flies ? Don't know that there is a lot of profit in gathering if it results in death, even of flies. So I go back in my advanced years to think of that old adage; why of course, honey!- as in love, and as in love is long suffering. Love does not retaliate, it does not respond in kind to slights, nor to serious offenses even. It gives not what it receives, it does not top a slight with a better slight, it does not answer an unkind phrase with a better topper. It just is, and it is patient. Love is there through good and through bad through attack and through hugs too. Love is. And God is love. If I am to emulate what is Holy by being holy, I need not call anyone out as evil, as false, or as inferior in doctrine. I simply need be patient and emulate the love that I receive from what is Holy, God. I need share his word but not enter into vain argument, I need to live His word in order to be a breathing testimony and give witness of Him. In that endeavor I need to take all that is unkind or even evil that comes to me or at me, and just read of the love my creator has extended to me, me a sinner, perhaps a sinner among sinners, having loved me to Him even as I stand. I have need to share of His love, of His instruction, His precepts, but I have no need to put a moments trust into thinking I need to be some kind of agent of vengeance from God. I am simply God's servant doing what I have faith in is what He desires of His servants. Perhaps I serve best when I serve silently and in love of all of God's creation, and leave the judgements to Him alone. Seems to me even my Lord did not judge, least not of His own accord, but by the word He was given to share by the Father is judgement. If even my Lord and savior does not judge, but instead shares a commandment from His Father instead, how crazy pompous and foolish might I be if I pass judgement for God by my own standard or even by my understanding of God's? I urge of myself that I do not make harsh response ever, and that I do not judge nor collect dead men with the poison in a glass, the ammonia, of my "biblically based" judgements upon them. May it be instead that the Holy Spirit will give life to those that hear His call to them, and may it be that many will be turned to their repentance from sin against God, becoming brothers and sisters to shout praises to God. John 12:44-50English Standard Version (ESV) Jesus Came to Save the World 44 And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. 47 If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.”

  10. We as Christians need to show discernment. Matthew 7:6 Jesus gives us permission to tell right from wrong. The Bible does not say that we can't judge we are not to judge hypocritically. Believers are warned against judging others unfairly or unrighteously but Jesus commends " right judgement" John 7:24.

  16. St. Paul writes to Timothy giving us a picture of how it will look just before the second coming of the Lord. He shares that people will be “unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good” (2 Timothy 3:3). In the end times there will be a great shift in how people live and act worldwide. Jesus spoke of children who will betray parents and how people will even want to put Christians to death (Matthew 24:9-10). But we see the root of the issue in the attitudes of human hearts, and committed believers in Jesus Christ are not excluded. Not having love, not forgiving, and speaking evil of other good believers will be just part of the coming spirit of anti-Christ in the world. Unforgiveness is a prison, a torturer. It will rob us of our joy, peace and even physical health. Jesus knew mankind and he knew that a great problem that many deal with is forgiving others. It is one of our Lord’s primary teachings and the apostles were very keen to this. Peter said to Jesus in answer to his question of forgiveness, seven times! He understood that Jesus said to be extravagant in our forgiveness of others, and the current teaching by rabbis in that day was to forgive three times and then seek revenge. Our Lord’s response showed the extent of how God forgives and how those who claim to follow him should forgive, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times” (Matthew 18:22). Do you find it hard to forgive other brothers and sisters in the Lord? Do you find it hard to love others in the body of Christ because of hurtful things that were done to you? Are you speaking evil of those brothers and sisters and judging them? It is very important that we are clear of all such sin and are full of love, forgiveness and using our mouths to show mercy and love to others in order to restore them (Galatians 5:1). Early believers lived in great anticipation of the coming of the Lord, and the thought of holding a grudge in unforgiveness with a believer and then entering eternity with this sin was unthinkable. In speaking about disputes, St. James writes, “Don’t grumble against one another” (James 5:9). The terrible reality to him was that the Judge was standing at the door, the Lord was coming back soon.

  17. Just believing in someone named "Jesus" means nothing unless we are talking about the Jesus Christ of the Bible. The one, eternal, everlasting, uncreated God. The one who created ALL things. It is like if you know someone called "bob" and i know another person called "bob". Now, can we have a conversation about "bob" without defining WHO we are talking about? No. The mormon, Jehovahs Witness, Seventh Day Adventist, UPCI, etc. "Jesus" is NOT the Jesus Christ of the Bible. Did Jesus really say He was God? That’s exactly how Jesus’ original audience seemed to take it when He said, “I and the Father are one.” In fact, the Jews were ready to kill Him right there! Why? “Because you,” they said, “a mere man, claim to be God” (John 10:33). On another occasion, He used the personal name of Israel’s God–the name revealed to Moses (Exodus 3:14)–to refer to Himself. And He even used the Torah for context, so no one would misunderstand Him: “Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58). This would be about wild as telling a Muslim, “I am your God, Allah.” Don’t try that in Saudi Arabia! It’s no wonder the Jews tried to stone Him to death. That was the exact penalty for blasphemy under the Jewish legal system. It was pretty clear to everyone there that He was saying, “I am Israel’s God.” Why Jesus is God? The Apostle Thomas called Jesus God.John 20:27-29: 2. The Apostle Peter called Jesus God.2 Peter 1:1: 3.The Apostle John called Jesus God.John 1:1-3, 4.God the Father called Jesus God.Hebrews 1:8: 5. God the Father called Jesus God. 6.Isaiah the Prophet said the Messiah would be God.Isaiah 9:67. The Jews who crucified Jesus understood Him to be saying that He was equal with God.John 5:18: 8.Jesus called Himself "I AM", the Old Testament name for God (Exodus 3:14).John 8:58-59. 9.Jesus calls Himself "the Alpha and Omega," the title of Almighty God.Revelation 22:12-13. 10. Like God (Gen. 1:1) Jesus created.Colossians 1:16-1711. Like God, Jesus forgives sin.Mark 2:5-7, 10-11:12. Like God, Jesus gives eternal life.John 10:27-28: 13. Like God, Jesus received, receives and will receive worship.Matthew 14:32-33. 14. Jesus said that only God was good; and Jesus was good. John 10:11: "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep."John 10:11: "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep."Jesus was as good as they come. He was "sinless," "holy," "righteous," "innocent," "undefiled," and "separate from sinners." (Hebrews 7:26) That's pretty good! 15. Like God, Jesus can be present in more than one place at the same time.Matthew 18:20: 16. One of Jesus' titles is "God with us."Matthew 1:23. 17. Jesus' blood is called God's blood.Acts 20:28: 18. Jesus has the same nature as God.Hebrews 1:3a: 19. Jesus spoke as God.Jesus did not speak as one of God's prophets: "thus says the Lord," but as God: "I say to you."Matthew 5:27-29. 20. Like God (Psalm 136:3), Jesus is called the Lord of Lords and King of kings.Revelation 17:14. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. ( WHEN WAS GOD PIERCED? ). And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel (means God Among Us). John 1:1 "Ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ Λόγος καὶ ὁ Λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν Θεόν Θεὸς ἦν ὁ Λόγος ", "En archē ēn ho Logos kai ho Logos ēn pros ton Theon kai Theos ēn ho Logos", "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word" John 1:14, "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 8:58 "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." Crossreference with Exodus 3:14 "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." John 10:33 "The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God." John 20:28 "And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God." Collossians 2:9 "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." Hebrews 1:8 "But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: " Matthew 4:10 "Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." Isaiah 44:6 "Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God." Crossreference with Revelation 1:17 "And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he." and Revelation 1:8 "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

  18. Hi! I have decided to share this letter with you. Most of you know how I have been trying to have a surgery on my r knee. I sent this letter to my Congressman Vern Ehlers, Grand Rapids, Michigan office. Dear Sir: I am a Vietnam Era Disabled Woman Veteran. For the past eight months I have been working with the Ann Arbor VA. I have been trying to have an elective surgery-Total Knee Replacement for my service connected R knee. The Orhopedic Doctor wants me to walk on this knee for a couple more years. However, it effects my daily living skills and I do not desire to endure any more pain then I have too. On August the 9th I emailed the Director and Deputy Field Director of the Center for Women Veterans. I explained my problem to them. They informed me it should only take a few days before I would hear from the Doctor. (The Doctor has decided to find out for himself why a blooed test CRP of mine is elevated.) He has been looking into it for the past 35 days. The Chief of Staff for the Ann Arbor VA knows about this. He turned my case over to his Administrative Assistant Steve Neff. Steve tried to get the Orthopedic Doctor to move quicker, with no success. The VA System is as slow as a SNAIL. I guess I should feel Blessed because there have been other veterans who have waited a long time for their results. Just to find out that they have Cancer and only 6 months to live. Now is this the way Veterans should be treated. I think not! We were good enough to go and protect our country, NOW we need someone to protect us. All I want is to have this surgery and get on with my life. Plus I would like to see the VA System get it together and start really working for the betterment of all Veterans. Can you help us? Patricia E. B____. Rockford Resident My email address. Now I have to wait and see what this stirs up! Snowdoove

  19. Hi Everyone, A week ago a woman who was my best friend for many years died suddenly and unexpectedly. She died in her sleep so at least she didn't suffer a lot. Her husband said she had sick stomach all day. She went to take a nap in the evening and never woke up. She lived out of state so I never saw her but we emailed several times a week. She was actually my ex cousin law. She had been married to cousin I grew up with like a twin brother. He passed away 2 yrs ago. She had 2 grown sons one of which is married and has 3 small sons. We are all in shock bc as I said she wasn't the kind of sick where you expect the person might die. It's been a week and I still expect to find email from her. On the same day my good PC broke. I'm using the old 1 and I'm surprised I got into WCF with this one. If you don't see me here anymore it's bc I don't have a PC. The other 1 is only 5 months old and suddenly it won't boot up anymore. At least not into regular windows but it does boot up into safe mode. The store who sold it thinks it's probably a bad hard drive. I found out many of their used PC's develop a failed HD. I keep hoping it's a windows issue and maybe it can be straightened out in Safe Mode. But not so far. This board is like my church and some of you know me, so I wanted to let you all know what's happened and why I haven't been here awhile. God Bless everyone. JTC

  24. The large number of dead people voting thing is a myth that has been put forth for years by the likes of Rush and Hannity, and always only backed up by individual anecdotes and never shown to happen in large numbers. One of the men in charge of this witch hunt, Kris Kobach did his own investigation and found 14 instances of voter fraud out of 84 million votes cast. Even in his own home state of Kansas he argued that he needed the power to go after fraud, and when it was given to him he was able to prove it happened 4 times, that is it. This is nothing but a witch hunt because Trump's ego will not allow him to accept that everyone does not love him and didn't vote for him

  29. This was such a good post I can simply say from this that judgment from us can never be condemnation but correction in love... the difference is: condemnation is cold and indifferent loving the penalty formed only in wrath without any other consideration... correction in love is exactly that all the purpose is to turn one from the condemnation to Life in God... it is easy to see the difference of which is being used at any time! John 3:16 (KJV) [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. [21] But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. When one considers hell I can think of no one that I would wish to be there but the devil and his minions... for they are why God's hell 'IS'... Adam and his children are still loved by God and we who have God within us ?____________? As the heart of The Father, Son and Spirit are revealed to us in this where is your heart... Love, Steven

  33. Faith, Belief and believe are the same word in Greek. Pistis is the noun and pisteuo is the verb. Pistis translates both as Belief and Faith and Believe is the verb. from VINE: Belief, Believe, Believers A. Verbs. 1. pisteuo (G4100), "to believe," also "to be persuaded of," and hence, "to place confidence in, to trust," signifies, in this sense of the word, reliance upon, not mere credence. It is most frequent in the writings of the apostle John, especially the Gospel. He does not use the noun (see below). For the Lord's first use of the verb, see Joh 1:50. Of the writers of the Gospels, Matthew uses the verb ten times, Mark ten, Luke nine, John ninety-nine. In Act 5:14 the present participle of the verb is translated "believers. See COMMIT, INTRUST, TRUST. B. Noun. pistis (G4102), "faith," is translated "belief" in Rom 10:17; 2Th 2:13. Its chief significance is a conviction respecting God and His Word and the believer's relationship to Him. See ASSURANCE, FAITH, FIDELITY.

For many people from my community on July 1st we cast our minds back to our forefathers who faught at the Battle of the Somme in World War 1 the first day of which was on July 1st 1916, or the British Army.as part of the 36th Ulster Division. It is a very poignant day of the year for us. It is regarded as the bloodiest day in the history of the British Army, but the Ulstermen fought with extreme courage and was the only British division to achieve its objectives on the first day.

To look at the depth of the sin is to peer upon complete rebellion not only of one's self but also of creation itself... repentance of sin is required Acts 11:18 (KJV) [18] When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. 2 Corinthians 7:10 (KJV) [10] For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. the hearts door cannot open any other way!

  40. Few things which many have already highlighted 1) Prayers 2) More time in spiritual activities between the 2 of you. Not just spending time in men's and women's fellowship separately. That is good, but does not build your relationship with him. Spend time in Bible study, fasting, prayers. It would help 3) Marriage counselling 4) Burn the bridge to old things. Why those things are even there? Mails and stuff?
    1 point
  41. MLT3117, Praise God!!! Prayers are working. I am praying and I am sure this entire community will continue to do so. I do have a suggestion of something you can do together that may provide something you both can "do" that will help your marriage. I have written a book, available at Amazon.com, called "The Marriage Triangle, God's Geometry for a Healthy Marriage". It would be good for you both to get a copy and begin reading it together. It's not a cure-all, but it will provide a very solid foundation for your relationship. Now to the issue at hand. Forgiveness is something that is absolutely required. Matthew 6:14,15 says, " 14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. " This is a BIG deal. Your husband needs to forgive you of your past sins simply because you have already put them under the blood of Jesus at the Cross (you have, haven't you?). Forgiveness is a process. It takes an "on purpose" choice to forgive over and over again until our spirits actually are healed. As a man, I can understand his brokeness, but it can only be healed by Jesus and only when he makes a choice to forgive. Since he has time on his mail routes, he CAN choose to forgive you over and over until his heart is mended. This is why Jesus said to forgive 70 x 7, because forgiveness is a process and needs to be repeated until our own wounded hearts are healed by the love of Jesus. You need to choose to forgive as well. I know your heart hurts at those who have wounded you, but forgiveness will allow your heart to heal. That is what forgiveness is for!!! It has nothing to do with those who hurt us....God has a plan for them and if they don't live up to it, He is going to judge them. By our choosing to forgive, we are telling God that we believe He is big enough to punish sin where necessary and that we trust Him to fix the other people. Once we get that far, THEN can focus on God fixing us, because sister, I need fixin'. I suspect there are things you need to have Jesus fix too. So let's get on with it: let's allow Jesus to minister peace to our hearts and joy to our spirits. Blessings P.S. I also do marriage counselling so feel free to answer back, I have more for you for victory in your marriage.

  42. The changes by various groups for a multitude of reasoning by them is the reason one cannot state with accuracy that the Bible in it's various packaging is inerrant. None of the groups gathering their best intent have been inspired. They are scholars with points of view. It is the Holy Spirit that saves, not a particular Bible version. All of which have general agreement about that which is the gospel of Jesus and is sufficient for the called by the Holy Spirit person to learn and to study for growth in understanding of their salvation and for deeper understanding of the revealing of Jesus.

  43. You are in error when you claim it is discrimination. It is refusing to do one wedding cake that honors something the baker regards as sinful based on his religious beliefs. It is not discriminating against gays. He serves them other products that do not honor a sinful activity. He also declines to make cakes for halloween because it honors something he regards as sinful. 1st ammendment says that the feds cannot interfer with a persons right to practice their religion. The baker is being denied his right to practice his religion by being forced to go against his religious beliefs.
