  1. Hi, welcome to worthy. Congrats on getting saved and for wanting to live as He wants us to live. You are in a tough situation, but I think you already realize what you need to do. Perhaps you should sit down with your boyfriend and explain to him what your beliefs mean to you and how your life has changed. Explain to him that you feel you are outgrowing the relationship because of these changes. Explain how important the Lord is to you. Continue to pray for him. But it is clear that the relationship you have with your boyfriend needs to change. Its possible that the conversation you will have with him will show him Christ. Something similar happened to me.

  2. I know that I'm well over a year late responding to this topic but better late than never. I think what a lot of people fail to understand and why they are deceived by false teacher's is because they get filled with joy and peace during a sermon and lacking discernment automatically think those feelings came from God, not understanding that Satan and his demons can mimic all those feelings. Spiritual discernment is so important, we are in the end times. Most preacher's on tbn are infact false preachers. Always, always, always pray for discernment and ask God is this preacher or teacher from Him. Do not blindly watch every preacher you see on TV. That is a dangerous, dangerous game. I've learned discernment the hard way and it's a very serious thing God's people need more of. Please pray for it. 1 John 4:1 [1]Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

  3. Conversation about the Tribulation and God`s Wrath. I have put together a conversation between two people A & B, to explain what I believe about the Tribulation and God`s Wrath. A. I`ve been studying what the Lord says about the Tribulation to come and God`s Wrath. B. Oh, I thought we`ve always had `tribulation.` You know that word `thlipsis` is a Greek word meaning pressure, affliction, anguish, persecution and tribulation. A. Thanks for that bit of info. And yes `thlipsis,` pressure affliction etc has been throughout the centuries. However I have found out that this particular `thlipsis,` pressure, is special. Let me read what Jesus said - `For there will be great tribulation, (pressure, affliction, anguish, persecution) , such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.` (Matt. 24: 21) B . Wow, that sounds very bad, not a good place to be. So it will be the most difficult time that hasn`t been before and wont happen again. Mmmmm So is it caused by the so called Climate change we hear about, or just natural acceleration of man damaging the world? A. You might think that but actually God says that it is His vengeance to punish the people of the earth. The Greek word is `orge,` and means anger, vengeance, wrath with the connotations of punishment. Listen to this - `..For behold, the Lord comes out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity;...` (Isa. 26: 21) B. So you are saying that it is actually God punishing the people of the world for their sins. I`m glad that there will come punishment, but oh, for those who are on the earth, such a terrible time. A. We can rest assured though that God`s hand of mercy will be still outstretched for those who repent of their sins and turn to Him. B. How merciful of God. So let me get this straight. There is coming on the world The Tribulation, with a capital `T` as it has never been like this or ever again, and the reason is - that God is punishing the people of the world for their wickedness. A. That`s right. That is what I believe God`s word says. The Tribulation is unique and the reason is God`s punishment, His wrath. B. Thanks `A` for this very interesting and informative discussion. A. Thanks `B` for sharing also.

  4. We are saved by grace alone through faith aloneand because we are righteous we will do good works. We have been justified apart from the works of the law of Moses. So, the big question is will not obeying the law make me unrighteous?I believe the answer is no, here's why. There is no doubt that sin is defined as breaking God's 10 Commandments. But we see David saying in Psalm 32, "Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity,"Then in Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.Then we have John the Baptist saying in John 1:29," Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."Also Hebrews 9:26 but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. So thanks to Jesus our sin is not an issue. In 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 we see that we are New Creations, and He does not impute our sinsto us, and He makes us righteous, even the righteousness of Christ, which is perfect.

  5. There are so many people lost in this world, and if many of them hear the Gospel for the first time, or just have a little more time, they will acknowledge their need to repent and come to the Lord Jesus. "Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful." - Luke 6:36 We are told to wait for the Lord Jesus, to follow Him, and to preach the Gospel while we wait for His coming. "And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." - Mark 16:15-16 What prepares our hearts is to have a fellowship with Him daily, by seeking what we need, praying, exhorting, and loving one another. "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only." - Matthew 24:36

  8. Note that the verse in Luke 22 occurs on the night of the last supper just before Jesus is betrayed in the garden. It does not describe the typical ministry that went on in the years before nor does it describe the ministry of the apostles in the book of Acts. It likely describes a lesson Jesus was teaching His disciples (who were probably expecting the Kingdom of God to be a political and social kingdom where the Romans were expelled and Jesus was set up as king) rather than a command about future ministry. Luke 12 starts out with Jesus speaking to the multitudes and the beginning of chapter 13 is to a crowd as well. It's not clear if verses 27-53 are only to the twelve or a larger group referred to as disciples. Luke uses the term disciples to refer to both the twelve and the larger group of all of His followers. Given that He says similar things in the sermon on the mound to the crowds, I'd lean toward Luke 12:27-40 being more of a statement about life in general than about ministry in particular. Also note that in Luke 10 tells about Jesus sending out the many disciples in addition to the twelve. I'd assume that Luke 22:35 is referring back to the Luke 10 time of ministry. When I read Luke 22:36, my memory of scripture is that Jesus and His disciples (not just the 12 but the wider group of them) did not appear to be walking around armed. Other than Peter taking a hack at someone in the garden during the betrayal, there is no record I can recall in the NT describing believers using a sword. Other than Jesus driving out the moneychangers and their animals in the Temple (using a whip he braided), I cannot recall any other use of force or violence. This suggests to me that Luke 22:36 was probably part of some lesson He was trying to teach or emphasize to the twelve and not a general command. Other than some converts whose occupation included weaponry (the jailer, Cornelius the centurion and any of the crowd in his household that were soldiers), I cannot think of examples of the disciples being armed. (Now, I do not take this as "proof" that all Christians should be pacifists and unarmed nor do I take Luke 22:36 as proof that all Christians should be armed. I think each individual needs to carefully weigh what God would have them do in various situations.) Stepping back to the big picture, over the years I've come to see the main point of reading and studying scripture as learning more about God. When I was a younger Christian, my study of the Bible was focused on learning more about what I was supposed to believe, answering questions, and figuring out what God's commands were for me (and everyone else). I was also really into prophecy because I was worried about what was going to happen. The bottom line is that I was looking to learn everything I could about God and what He had done and would do rather than looking to get to know Him better. Over time, I've found that my focus has become more on learning more about Who God is. In the process of that, I've become much more familiar with individual books of the Bible, the history, culture, geography, politics, etc. surrounding the various books as well as the various ways different Christian sects view different books and passages. As one knows God more and more, the Bible simply becomes easier to understand. It's ironic. When I started out, I took Proverbs 25:2 (It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings) as the primary way of how to approach studying the Bible. That somehow God had concealed hidden truths, patterns, symbols, and facts within the very words of the Bible and that being a diligent student of scripture meant that I should seek those things out. I now approach things from a diametrically opposite point of view. Instead of focusing on finding those things that everyone else has missed or argues about, I focus on better understanding those things that God has clearly and plainly put in scripture.

  9. Alcohol is a mocker and strong drink will cause the strongest of people to fall and commit awful sins. It may seem innocent at the start, but one will turn into two and so on. In the end, the person will be merry... then they will take it too far and get drunk. The next thing you know, they commit adultery, fight, make themselves look like a fool by acting and talking like one. Lusts and covetous acts will also arise as a result and this is not something God wants us to get involved with. Proverbs 23:29-35 KJV 29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? 30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. 31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. 32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. 33 Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. 34 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. 35 They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again. Isaiah 28:7-8 KJV 7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. 8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean. Leviticus 10:9 KJV Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations Proverbs 20:1 KJV Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise Proverbs 31:6 KJV Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. Isaiah 5:11 KJV Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them! Isaiah 56:12 KJV Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant. Isaiah 24:9 KJV They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.

  10. Why don't you cut out your arguing when you are trying to do so with an empty wagon. Do you see the Church/Bride in heaven for the marriage to the Lamb/Jesus, in Rev.19:7-8? How do you think they got into heaven, as Jesus said in Jn.14:2-3 and 28, and Paul, in 1 Thess.4:17 and 2 Thess.2:3 and 7-8? With Jesus returning in His second coming, WITH HIS CHURCH following him, riding white horses, dressed in fine linen, white and clean, in His armies from heaven, in verse 14. Case closed! Quasar93

  16. When you asked Jesus Christ into your life you became a child of God. That means that all relationships can not be unevenly yoked. If you stay with this guy it would not be a good thing. You need to sit down with this guy and have a talk. Tell him that Jesus Christ is number one in your life and if he will not except Jesus as His Lord and Savior you will no longer be in a relationship. Then you need to give your life including your future relationships to God. Ask Him if He has a person who loves the Lord in His plan for you. Sit back and see what He does in your life.

  17. In addition the bible consistently refers to the " Day Of The Lord " as the day the Lord , in person, proactively executes judgement & destruction upon all His enemies on earth . That would most definitely include Satan's antichrist , his minions , and all other tribulation personal There would be no tribulation going on . Not for even single day , post Day of The Lord , let alone for years since all Satan's people will have been vanquished . There will be no enemies of the Lord around to run a tribulation when they Day of the Lord destroys them . " Behold , the DAY OF THE LORD cometh cruel both with wrath and fierce anger to lay the land desolate, and He shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it . " ( Isaiah 13 : 9 )

Wash your garments, polish your sword, and put on the Armor of God. "Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth fastened around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

  20. It sounds as if your actions revealed how HUMAN you really are, not how evil, Becky. If you have asked for this person's forgiveness now it's time to ask the Lord for the same. Lay the problem at the foot of the Cross and ask Him to take the burden from you. I have had to do that very thing and the Lord relieved me of the guilt and turmoil I had created for myself.

The four post link in the following Thoroughly refutes your dogmatic opinion without a shred pf Scriptural support that has anything at all to do with it. The symbolic calling up of John, according to Jesus, into heaven, by the voice that sounds like a trumpet, represents the Church, CONFIRMING 2 Thess.2:3 and 7-8. As I told you before, you have no argument trying to refute Scripture. Provide a Scripture based argument for your views to refute any part of the four posts in the following, or your opinions have been soundly refuted. https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/deeperwalk/the-biblical-teaching-of-the-pre-trib-rapture-of-t-t19401898.html FYI, After John/Church in Rev.4:1-2 is called up into heaven, John/Bride/Church marriage takes place, in heaven, according to Rev.19:7-8, As you were shown previously. 24. I honestly wished this was the truth simple Jeff; As it is also written in holy scripture: 1 Timothy 3:1-13 1 Timothy 3:1-13New King James Version (NKJV) Qualifications of Overseers 3 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop,[a] he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,[b] but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. Qualifications of Deacons 8 Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, 9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. 10 But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. 11 Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. 12 Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 13 For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I very much would like to believe Christ Jesus did not drink fermented drink or a least did not get drunk. As little as one sip in your mouth of alcoholic beverage can change a person. ask any recovering alcoholic. Also you don't need to have become an alcoholic to see changes in a persons behavior after just one sip, let alone on drink of alcohol. how i see it? with the eyes I already had as a child seeing my parents consume even just a little alcohol? and even gave my brother and me a sip to taste? sometimes even a little glass? I saw change in my parents and it was for a child = "scary to see." Also when i was given my first sip of alcohol., I immediately I instantly felt different and yes it was kind of pleasant, but it instantly also made me sneeze. I remember sometimes when my mother prepared super she had a glass of wine and always added a teaspoon of sugar to her wine. She sometimes gave me a sip to taste of it. Also I never liked to see my mothers mood change, from not having a drink to having a drink. She was like two different people. I remember that I always sneezed after taking a sip from my mothers wine or ay other alcoholic beverage. Maybe because of culture, it was not looked as a bad thing to have wine , champagne, bear and some nice liqueurs on special occasions such as Christmas, Easter, birthdays, special diners. However I would have much preferred had my family been a christian family that did not partake in alcohol at all. I have seen to much of the damage that alcohol does to ever endorse it as being ok , especially for a true seeker of the Lord to think that taking it occasionally is OK. Toward the end of my mothers life she drew closer and closer to christian life, yet my brother was a total atheist and that placed a big dent in much of our family life. But my mother even though she was like I said closer to living a christian life than ever before, was an elder in her church, she still took the occasional glass of wine. She was never an alcoholic, just like the occasional glass of wine. What confused me with that was , she was going to a Pentecostal church, where i knew alcohol was not permitted, and also she was a deacon, but yet she still took a glass or two of wine on the occasion. To me, just my thoughts, I feel that God allowed my mothers life to be shortened, because the day before she hemorrhaged- brain stroke- she took a glass of wine, Also she was taking medication of the like of: Celebrex/anti inflammatory, blood thinning -warfarin/ coumadin and even was taking some natural stiff. Little was she aware that these were a deadly combination=execively thining her blood, and at the time doctors did not know enough about certain medication and interactions with alcohol to give my mother any warnings. If you have a cold=this can thin the blood. If you take certain medications even like aspirin= this can thin the blood If you take certain herbal nutrients=they can thin the blood If you take certain pharmaceutical medications +they can thin the blood If you take alcohol-it thins the blood. also verathaning wood floors=is also a blood thiner (A combination of all these can be deadly) When having or taking any of these and even worse combining any of these, it can thin the blood so much that a person can have a hemorrhage aorta stroke . this type stroke, can Burst in the abdomen like it can burst in the brain. I write this hoping that people consider these factors seriously. At the time of my mothers death, she had a cold- my brother began verathaning the upstairs floors, this thins the blood, she was taking anti-inflammatories and blood thinner and natural products and had a glass of wine , the evening before her fatal morning stroke the next day. Had my mother been truly committed to living completely for the Lord and NOT taking ANY alcohol even a social drink, I believe my mother would have been still alive today. Being overweight, drinking, smoking, these all need to be brought into temperance, as we grow closer and closer to the Lord. It also will allow us to be healthier and more able to do Gods work here on earth. I left a church after I saw at a pastors home boxes of beer lines up against a wall in his home. That pastor was also a gossip. For those reasons i could not respect this pastor and left that church. this pastor had four children, the eldest announced to the family that he was gay a few years ago. I believe that lifestyle choices do make an impact on our lives and those surrounding our lives. I also have my own lifestyle choices (concerning, exercise and nutrition) also to improve in order to get closer and closer to Gods will for my life. If Christ Jesus was a man who drank and got drunk, I really would have not much respect for Him and would have to re-question a lot concerning the bible and my christian faith that is very much based on Gods Word found in the bible. But i must use Logic concerning whether Christ Jesus was an occasional alcoholic beverage drinker or not. It is written that Christ Jesus was innocent of sin. If not, His sinless blood would not have any impact on being able -like the bible states- salvage us, restore us and heal us and reunite us to God through Christs BLOOD covering over us and our sins. when alcohol is imbibed it changes us, as the alcohol works directly into the BLOOD SYSTEM. it thins the blood and goes directly into our nervous system. If I am to respect any person especially in the position of pastor or elder of a church they need to be SOBER, living an alcohol free lifestyle. And I would say, that for true followers of Christ Jesus, an alcohol free living is I would thing the aim we should desire to aspire to . there is so much hype on alcohol and why we need to drink it. Do we really need to drink it? No we don't. and it does not make life worse, it makes life better . more wholesome. I have not had alcohol in years and really don't miss it, I actually feel much better without it, and don't have any in my home to offer to others. I also do not allow smoking in my home or my outdoor surroundings if i can help it. Because I want my home to be a completely "wholesome" christian environment. Something, i had wished my childhood family home would have been but was not.

  30. Daily Reading 36 If you prefer, you can look up the following verses in your own Bible, of by whatever means and in whatever version you choose. Hebrews 1 Genesis 45:1-46:27 Psalm 36 Audio 2:15 Audio 4:10 Audio 1:29 The above addresses are linked to Bible Gateway. That is an easy way to read (or listen to) the Bible verses, and choose your version. Personally, I prefer written, that way I can go at my own pace, on think about it, before moving on. 35. I just finished, almost, reading Jeremiah too, and I was thinking like your closestfriendnt recently said, and then noticed it sounded also like in Revelation as you posted above but didn't think much more of because I didn't think anything would really click. The more you read the more things seem to come together. It's a big book.
