  1. I guess that says it all. How long I will stay this time well, we will see how it goes. My time away has given me time to think and I think I have a lot to say.

  2. I politely disagree. Legalism is missing the "true" meaning of a passage of scripture. If I can give an example without derailing the topic. (1 Peter 3:3 says: Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes) Some have taking this passage to mean that it is a sin to wear jewelry or make up in church. When the real meaning is that one needs to have inner beauty from their heart having a gentle and quiet spirit, which is explain in the next verse 1 Peter 3:4. Yet you will find Legalistic people condemning women for wearing jewelry and make up to church and miss using 1 Peter 3:3 to back them up. That is what legalism is. ( As I said I do not mean to derail the topic. So if anyone would like to debate the meaning of 1 Peter 3:3-4 please make a new topic. I know how things can run a muck sometimes and I do not want that to happen)

  3. It definitely sounds like he is not a Christian, or if he is, he is a very carnal Christian. If I were you, I would drop him like a hot potato! If he gives you this much grief and sorrow now, what would marriage be like with him? Probably would be much, much worse. Break it off with him and, with the Lord's help, try to find a loving Christian man who will love and honor you....not give you hurt and sorrow.

President and Vice President Addresses March for Life Participants and Pro-Life Leaders What a far cry from the last Potus that spoke from a Planned Parenthood stump in 2013 and said "Thank you, Planned Parenthood. god bless you.” God of course will never bless the murder of the innocent babies at any point during pregnancy.

  5. I am sure that many new Christians come onto Worthy scratching their heads. All the new Christian needs is the basics. People go down rabbit trails at times on Worthy with topics that are confusing and do not pertain to the basics. New Christians should be concerned with: 1. Who is God? 2. Who is Jesus Christ? 3. Who is the Holy Spirit? 4. What is the Holy Trinity? 5. What is salvation? 6. How can I be sure I am saved? 7. How can I be sure I am saved if I do not feel any different? 8. What happens to a person once they die? 9. What if I sin again? 10. Do I need to join a Church? 11. What is the fruit of the Holy Spirit and why is that important?

  6. I try not to get caught up in all of this. I try to allow God to direct me in the way I should go. If others feel they should dress a certain way or not eat certain foods, well I just let people be. Maybe God is leading them on a path that is different then mine. After all he has his own plan for each of us. As I think we are all called to do different work for him.

  7. Well your telling us we must follow God's laws so I thought maybe you did follow all the Old Testament Laws. There are people who do I guess. I know there are many who follow some of them. And if you tell them they don't have to follow them they get mad at you and beat you over the head with the Bible. So I was just asking really. But if my asking is going to upset anyone I am sorry and you don't have to answer.

  9. 1) True enough but not in the way you think. 2) YES IT DOES 3) Totally wrong. Christ rebuke you for daring suggest such a thing 4) Even more wrong Just because something is not mentioned explicitly by name in the bible, such as Trinity, Rapture and yes, SUNDAY worship, that does not mean that it is not taught in the bible https://www.gotquestions.org/Bible-Christian-legalism.html The apostle Paul warns us of legalism in Colossians 2:20-23: “Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: ‘Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!’? These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.” Legalists may appear to be righteous and spiritual, but legalism ultimately fails to accomplish God’s purposes because it is an outward performance instead of an inward change. To avoid falling into the trap of legalism, we can start by holding fast to the words of the apostle John, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17) and remembering to be gracious, especially to our brothers and sisters in Christ. “Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand” (Romans 14:4). “You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat” (Romans 14:10). Acts 15:5 | View whole chapter | See verse in context But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses. Acts 15:24 | View whole chapter | See verse in context Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: Romans 2:25 | View whole chapter | See verse in context For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.

  14. Hi MOLI, I hear your broken heart, and feel for you. I also agree with my bros, who have all given your great advice - flee. My concern is for you at the moment - broken heart, thinking you love him. May I say that you `love` what you think he is and it seems you are living together, so the physical intimacy is a very strong bond. To break that you need, I believe to repent and ask the Lord to break those soul ties. You are young and this young man is so selfish and controlling. This is not a life time contract of that behaviour you want to enter into. He will not change however much you cry, as he is all about himself. Ask the Lord to see him as he really is. Don`t make excuses for him - flee. praying, Marilyn.

  19. That is what we should do too. "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me." - John 6:38 Do not care for people's opinion, and just follow, and do what He said, with love. "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world." - John 17:18 He sent us, He sent us... Do you know what it means?! "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" - Matthew 11:15

  26. Hi Light..... I see you are studying God`s word. And a very important part of that is to realise that the Lord Jesus Christ is Head of His Body, he is building and maturing us, and will finally by His Holy Spirit compete the work and take it to its eternal setting in the third heaven. There we are told in scripture that the Body of Christ with the Head, the glorified, exalted, crowned Lord Jesus, will rule and reign. The first responsibility is to judge fallen angels and the world system, (as God`s word tells us) which obviously has to happen during the tribulation. Lots to study yet bro, Marilyn. To settle the discussion, if she was talking to me, why would she quote someone else?

  28. My parents were more religiously inclined when I was younger, but it didn't last long. There was a spot of drama in the church we attended, and due to disagreements, they were invited to never return. They really haven't been to a church since. It's too bad; I wish I had spent more time as a Christian. My earliest memory of church is that I was given a bible by a churchgoer (it might have even been the priest, I don't recall) where they wrote my name and the date the bible was given to me on the inside cover. It specified the church's "daycare" setup they had during the service. I gave it a look at the time, but lacking any pastel pictures, I put it aside to collect dust. So many years later, I picked up that very bible, the one that I read today.

  33. Contrary to the belief of many, the New Covenant does not abolish all the terms of the Old Covenant! Both covenants include provisions for a sacrifice for sin, a priesthood serving in a tabernacle, obedience to God’s laws, and promised blessings from God. However, in each case, the changes in the New Covenant amplify the terms of the Old Covenant! Under the Old Covenant, God presented the Israelites with two options and told them to “choose life” (Deuteronomy 30:19-20). God offers that same choice today to those whom He calls into the New Covenant. What makes the New Covenant “new” is that it is a far better agreement than the one entered into at Mount Sinai. Ultimately all humanity will have the opportunity to be part of the New Covenant. But if God is calling you to be part of that covenant now by helping you to understand His truth, you have a decision to make. Will you choose life—eternal life? The choice is up to you. Millions have been taught that this Old Covenant was the Ten Commandment law. Many boast of being delivered from the law and claim to walk in freedom from this so called Old Testament covenant of works. Did the great moral law of Ten Commandments vanish away? Anyone who has read the New Testament must answer, absolutely not. Paul asked, “Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.” Romans 3:31. Does the Bible contradict itself? Can something vanish away and be established at the same time? Just to be certain that Paul was not saying that the Old Covenant was the law, let's insert the words “Old Covenant” instead of the word “law” into Romans 3:31. “Do we than make void the Old Covenant through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the Old Covenant.” That certainly does not make sense now does it? We know that the Old Covenant that vanished away could never be spoken of in this way. Thus we can see that the covenant which came to an end could not have been the Ten Commandments. Many people have also failed to see that there was more than one covenant involved at Mount Sinai. God called Moses up into the mountain before He gave the law and proposed a covenant between Him and His people, “And Moses went up unto God, and the Lord called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; ... if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me ... an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.” Exodus 19:3-6. The Ten Commandment Covenant on the other hand was made three days later and was called a covenant on its own. “And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even Ten Commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.” Deuteronomy 4:13. “And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.” Exodus 34:28 The Ten Commandments are the basis for God's everlasting Covenant. You often hear people say in their attempt to avoid loving obedience to their Creator, that the Old Testament Ten Commandments also had other laws that totalled 613 by traditional count. But this is definitely not so. “These words the LORD spoke unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.” Deuteronomy 5:22 http://www.the-ten-commandments.org/old_and_new_covenants.html

  35. A friend of mine is having a hard time and her faith is at an all time low. I am worried now she is going to make a decision that would be detrimental to both her and her son in the long run. At the beginning of last year she told me about a dream she had where she got married to a tall dark 'person' but she couldn't see his face. Two months later her ten year old son started 'acting' up and having these demonic episodes where he would have this immense strength and it would take more than one person to hold him down. He was prayed for and at the end of last year everything was back to normal. At the beginning of this year she had the same dream. But it went a little further she dreamt she was at home wearing a wedding ring and doing chores waiting for her 'husband' to come home. Two days later her son started having the same demonic episodes...where he would shout that he loves Satan. Now I believe that these dreams are related to her son's behaviour. But what is even more disheartening is that we have another colleague that is encouraging her to seek 'help' from another source which would be contrary to God. And she is seriously considering it. At one point last year she had planned to go but her car broke down and wouldn't move. I also believe that the enemy is trying to wear her down and get her to go in that direction so he can trap her son further. I have talked to her and told her if she goes in that direction she is showing God that she doesn't trust Him to work it out for her. I have prayed for her and her son but her faith level is very low. What else do I do or what else can I do?

  36. As with all in creation, when God move, Satan counterattacks. The one she is married to is Jesus. She awaits His return, as we all do. This encourages her, so Stan, displeased, turns to the closest person in her life, her son, and through him, tries to remove the message she received in her dream, Jesus, by causing doubt and trying to get her to believe her sons actions are due to her dream, since his actions always follows her dream. What you can do is tell her to stay the faith and rebuke Satan in His name. We can do nothing, but He can do all things.

  41. There are a couple of important things that fall out of all of this discussion that I think need to be addressed. 1) The politicization of an entire branch of medicine - One of the things that this has accomplished is to bring front-line partisan presidential politics directly into psychiatry. This is specifically what the Goldwater rule attempts to avoid. In violating that rule these people will invariably have called into question the entire branch of psychiatry by some trump supporters. Furthermore, this also gives cover and license to other psychiatrists who are politically motivated to do the same thing to other politicians on the whole spectrum. If voters perceive psychiatry as being a simple political battleground, over time, this would likely call into question the validity of the entire profession for a statistically significant percentage of people, if not large swaths of them. 2) The possible belief that professional psychiatric assessments can now be made based on simply looking at the public statements of individuals. Would it be fair to have employers hire psychiatrists to scrutinize their facebook, twitter posts, or even forum posts prior to employing them. The same could go for applying for home loans. We are talking about having a person removed from office using the 25th amendment of the constitution based on the opinions of psychiatrists who have never evaluated him. This is a legal process that would deprive a legally elected president of the united states of the office to which he was elected. What is the difference in this and psychiatrists perusing social media and "assessing" individuals, perhaps even calling authorities and having them committed, based solely on their social media content. Would this be out of bounds? There are a lot of potential negative consequences to what is now just a political game of gotcha.

  42. Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Eph 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, Eph 2:9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Any gift must be received. To be saved we must receive the person of Christ, the Word made flesh, who died for us and rose from the dead. This is who Jesus Christ is: Joh 1:11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. Joh 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, Joh 1:13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. Joh 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. Rom 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved And this is what He did: 1Co 15:1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 1Co 15:2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 1Co 15:3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 1Co 15:4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 1Co 15:5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. . Faith is built and exercised is we see God in nature, in His Scriptures, in the person of Christ, and in relationship with Him through prayer. Our response is to worship Him and give thanks, as well as to surrender to Him as Lord and Creator. Love is produced by His life within us after we are saved

  44. I was listening to Family Talk this morning and they had this scientist on there talking about outer space. He was saying NASA did a study with the hubble telescope. They found an area between 2 stars that appeared dark. So they pointed hubble that direction and took a picture and left the shutter on the camera open for 11 days. When they looked at that picture then what they saw was approximately 10,000 galaxies. It amazes me how vast our universe is. Put this into comparison that you are one person on one planet in one galaxy that has millions of stars in it. And God knows how many hairs are on your head. Just mind boggling to say the least.
