  2. Hi Ella, Thank you for sharing your difficult life. No wonder you are battling those terrible thoughts after being violated as you have been. Now we all have wrong thoughts and they come from Satan. So what you need to know first is that it is not from you. He is putting those thoughts into your mind and you are thinking those stinking thoughts are from yourself. Let me show you - `...bringing every thought ....to the obedience of Christ.` (2 Cor. 10: 5) Thoughts come from TV, what other people have said, or done etc. So we ask the Lord to help us stand against those thoughts. When they come, say I do not receive you and move on to an activity, or sing a praise song, the more you do this the more you will get stronger to go against the enemies onslaught to you. Life with the Lord is a process and we all will be pure in heaven. However on earth we all have to battle against wrong thoughts every day. Will keep praying for you. Marilyn.

  3. Exactly. "as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures." - 2 Peter 3:16

  4. Paul knew that we are the servants of whom we obey , Christ said it first . And He came to set the captives free. Just as many jews misunderstood in that day what the saying of THE TRUTH shall make you free so to today many do not grasp this . Their idea of being set free is the easy life and big money desires . Being made free, means being made dead to sin that we should live unto righteousness. Not the concept of FEELING free while in sin , but being made FREE FROM SIN . And their is a major difference . Their is POWER in the blood. And that purges right into the inner most conscious . AWAKE to righteousness and sin not.

  5. Hi Ella Can you do this please dear sister? Say to the Lord - "Lord, I am placing my trust in you without reservation and I thank you for healing me, in Jesus' name, Amen.". God understands our simple prayer, and He will answer those prayers. Sometimes it takes time but if you put your trust in Him, He will do it. Love in Jesus' name, sister. Another thought - it doesn't matter how many times you want to cry out - we are here to point the way to Jesus every time for you.

  6. Must be pure....yes. But God offers us that purity as a gift. We don't earn it, work for it, deserve it, nor does it come from within, nor from our own strength of will or determination. It is offered as a gift to anyone who asks. Anyone who reaches out recognizing their need. The Bible calls it the righteousness of Christ, and as we come to God in faith and trust, He engraves our name on the palms of His hands accounting us as clean and forgiven in His sight. Also He offers us all the healing; physical, mental, and spiritual, that we need. Surrender to Him all your cares and frustrations and concerns, and trust Him to do what needs to be done. Keep praying...keep reading the Bible...keep fellowshiping with other believers, " and all things will work together for your good, because you love God and are called according to His purpose". Romans 8:28

  7. Hello @Vermillion, I know how you feel, for I have been there. @Adstar told you not to rely on feelings, but to trust God, and I second it. You are God's workmanship, He is working in you to will and to do of His good pleasure, so do not be afraid. Read what God has achieved for you in Christ Jesus, and believe what is written. Be thankful that you have no evidence within yourself, for your trust must be in God Himself, and not in how you feel. Joy will come, and grateful tears, as you read of what God has accomplished for you, in and through the sacrificial offering of His Son. Wait on the Lord, and He will fill you with Himself. Just Trust and do not be afraid. In Christ Jesus Christine

  13. Ella, I understand where you are coming from. I am a survivor as well. A supposedly godly man inflicted abuse on me that was decidedly ungodly. The two things you have to take to heart are that it was not your fault, you did nor said anything to make the abuser do that to you. He manipulated and lied to you PERIOD. And, no matter what negative effect that had on you, once you give it to God, that's it, it isn't yours any more. You may still be effected by your past, as we all are but, God understands and, He forgives when we give it to him through Jesus Christ. Pray not only for yourself but, for your abuser. Forgive your abuser in your heart and, ask God to forgive him as well. We are all sinners, that's why Jesus had to die for us. Accept His sacrifice as your own. When you are tempted by sin, pray, command the tempter to get away from you in the name of God.

  19. Here are a few examples, but without doubt there may be many more. Isaiah 7:14 Isaiah 9:6 Micah 5:2 Zechariah 9:9 Psalm 22:16-18 Isaiah 53:3-7 Isaiah 50:6 Zechariah 12:10 Isaiah 53:3-7 is especially unmistakable: “He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.”

  20. Christians and financial planning formulas My wife and I were moved to take our savings and, not trusting the financial systems available, invested in our children. Totally, Got out, stayed out, of debt! My family uses the old cookie jar principal (upgraded to the envelope system). Put the earned money in the jar, remove it when needed. When we put in more than we remove, we save. If no money in jar, eat beans and bread. System works. God supplies all our needs. And much more. 1Co_3:7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 2Co 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. You can't out give God! And that's a fact, Jack! (The best return on good investments are usually not financial)

  25. The rich man didn't go to hell because he was rich. He went to hell, in part, for the same reason Sodom and Gomorrah were annihilated. The prophet Ezekiel said that Sodom was proud, overfed, and basically wallowed in their own prosperity. Plus, they would not take care of the basic needs of the poor. That in addition to "detestable things". Lazarus sat where the rich man could see him everyday. He longed just for scraps from his table. Why didn't the rich man have compassion and take him in, call a doctor to treat his sores, and feed him AT the table? It's what the proverbial good Samaritan would have done.

  26. Rom 6:22 ESV But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free GIFT of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 5:6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Rom 5:7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— Rom 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 5:9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. Rom 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. Rom 5:11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Salvation is a free gift through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus. We are right now reconciled to the Father when we receive His gift of salvation. No more works are necessary. Now all we have to do is walk in the love that He gives us for those in need. Let Jesus live in you and through you. We may see loneliness, poverty, despair, grief. Wherever we see a need and provide for it, we are seeing that person through the love of Christ. That is how we walk in the Spirit. And we are told that there is no condemnation for those who walk in the Spirit. Romans 8:1 and Galatians 5 Rom 8:1 NKJV There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Gal 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. Gal 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. I hope these verses speak to your struggles.

Yes we should desire to do things that are pleasing to God and we should desire to resist doing things that are not Gods will for us to be doing.. But God understand us better then we do and thus understands our weakness.. The salvation that comes through believing Jesus and trusting in the atonement Jesus secured to save us is a pure loving gift from God.. I cannot be payed for by our good deeds neither can it be lost by our sins.. It is secured by God for us whom believe and trust in what Jesus said and did for sinners like us.. Now thats really good news that lifts the burden of fear off our shoulders and gives us true peace of mind..

  35. The difference is in the way you put your questions. you asked why there was no criminal liability for adultery and then asked "adultery is a crime?" I answer that adultery is against the law in Oklahoma (it is a crime) and then you change the question to only in the eyes of God.... I don't know where you are coming from so it kind of hard to try and answer your question...... Adultery could send you to jail in Oklahoma if one was found guilty of it, and Adultery could send you to hell just the same if God holds you guilty and does not pardon you for it. Pay society in Oklahoma now, or pay God throughout eternity, or likely both if convicted in Oklahoma. So what's your question????

  37. GET AN ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER -- visit communities that struggle with your particular vice -- don't try to conquer it alone, just as we need God's help, we can also reinforce each other. I find, in moments of temptation, thinking about "what would this person think of me if they saw me entertaining such thoughts?" helps tremendously, whereas, if you're isolated, you would not feel that you're letting someone down. Don't isolate yourself, pray constantly, seek others to help reinforce you. But we're ALL dealing with these things in one form or another, even the best among us, so don't let it keep you down. Don't give in, and even if you do, it's not the end of the world -- pick yourself back up and try again.

  38. Ella, you're right, you will never be good enough to be sin-free. But fortunately that is not the requirement. God knows you will continue to struggle and sin. He cares about your heart. Continue to pray for the strength to resist sin and temptation, and sincerely apologize when you mess up. God sent Jesus because we have no ability to be perfect on our own, not so that we could be perfect on our own.

  39. From my favourite author.... As your conscience has been quickened by the Holy Spirit, you have seen something of the evil of sin, of its power, its guilt, its woe; and you look upon it with abhorrence. You feel that sin has separated you from God, that you are in bondage to the power of evil. The more you struggle to escape, the more you realize your helplessness. Your motives are impure; your heart is unclean. You see that your life has been filled with selfishness and sin. You long to be forgiven, to be cleansed, to be set free. Harmony with God, likeness to Him--what can you do to obtain it? It is peace that you need--Heaven's forgiveness and peace and love in the soul. Money cannot buy it, intellect cannot procure it, wisdom cannot attain to it; you can never hope, by your own efforts, to secure it. But God offers it to you as a gift, "without money and without price." Isaiah 55:1. It is yours if you will but reach out your hand and grasp it. The Lord says, "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18. "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you." Ezekiel 36:26. You have confessed your sins, and in heart put them away. You have resolved to give yourself to God. Now go to Him, and ask that He will wash away your sins and give you a new heart. Then believe that He does this because He has promised. This is the lesson which Jesus taught while He was on earth, that the gift which God promises us, we must believe we do receive, and it is ours.

  40. Ella, it's good you are praying and reading the Bible. Reading the Bible will help renew your mind so you won't be so troubled by wrong thoughts. Please take 1 John 1:9 to heart...If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Accept your cleansing from the Lord. Know that you are righteous in Him when you have confessed your sins. Learn to think and remember that you are cleansed. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

  44. Here are some good starting points: When you see an ambulance or police car race past you - pray that God will take care of those workers and protect those that they are on their way to serve. Confess your sins to him, literally. When you are grocery shopping, pray for the salvation of those who are in the store with you. If you see a mother and child who are at odds with each other in the store, pray for that mother to have peace and for that child to be settled. Pray for their families. Tell God thank-you for your meals, your resources, your friends and family, and just about everything you can think of. Tell God that you don't always know what to say. Read some of the Psalms TO God - out loud. They were intended to be sung to him, but if you just want to read them in praise to him then do that. Take a hymn that you like and read the words to God in honor of him. When you read the newspaper, pray for those you read about. Ask God to lay people on your heart for prayer. He will. Make sure you include the following in your prayers: praise to God [tell him how wonderful and holy he is], confess sins, pray for others, ask God to strengthen the church, ask God to heal our nation, and ask God to give you a purpose and task that is meaningful to his kingdom and for the strength to do it.

And yet there are many in this world who don't even have clean water to drink or clothes on their backs. We all have to make a decision if we're going to praise God for what we have or curse Him for what we lack. Choosing the latter only brings misery, in this life and the next.

  46. CONCLUSION When God brings the earth and heaven to a close it is then time for the Great White Throne Judgment. This is for all mankind except the Body of Christ and the just men and women, (Old Testament saints). `Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was no place found for them.` (Rev. 19: 11) Those who had rejected Christ`s offer of salvation will be cast into the lake of fire. Those who had never heard of Christ`s sacrifice will be judged according to their God-given conscience. If they lived righteously, shown by their works, (not evil), then they will go to live on the new earth. `And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.` (Rev. 19: 12 - 15) God has shown that throughout the centuries that He has continually outstretched His hand of mercy to all who call on Him. And by His grace, freely given in Christ there are different inheritances for the different people groups - the Body of Christ, Israel and the nations. These inheritances are awaiting all those who are blessed to go into eternity when God creates a New Heaven and a New Earth. `And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and first earth had passed away....` ((Rev. 21: 1)

  48. Things which SDAs won’t point out, is that their religion DIDN’T exist until a wayward Baptist preacher by the name of Miller prophesied that the Lord would return in 1844, but He didn’t. 10,000 followers of Miller had sold their homes, given away all their earthly possessions, and were utterly disappointed when Jesus didn’t return in 1844. To save face, someone suggested that perhaps Miller had misunderstood the Bible, and the expected event had instead taken place in heaven. This is what they settled upon. Thus, a new religion was birthed and given the name in 1860 of Seventh-day Adventism. There is absolutely nothing in the Bible to support such a bizarre claim by SDAs. By manipulating numbers and dates in the Bible, one can predict just about anything. Jehovah’s Witnesses have their own little cute way of ripping apart the Bible to make their false doctrines fit. SDAs have done the same thing, i.e., they have corrupted the Word of God in order to accommodate their false teachings. It is very important to realize that SDA did not exist prior to Miller’s failed prophecy. If, as SDAs claim, the Bible teaches that the Lord would return in 1844, then why did only Miller and his followers believe this? The very manner in which the SDA religion came into existence is irrefutable proof that they are a manmade false religion. Page 15 of the SDA Church Manual states: “In 1844, at the end of the prophetic period of 2300 days, He entered the second and last phase of His atoning ministry.” There is absolutely nothing in the Word of God teaching such nonsense. You can search the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and you won’t find anything about a “second phase” of Jesus’ atonement ministry. Even more bizarre is the ridiculous claim that the second phase began in 1844. Why hasn’t anyone, from any other religion, interpreted the Bible in such a way? It is only SDAs who make such bizarre claims, because their founders were made the laughing stock of an entire nation when Jesus failed to return in 1844. Page 15 of the SDA Church Manual states: “It is a work of investigative judgment which is part of the ultimate disposition of all sin…” SDAs are liars. 1st John 1:7 states: “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” It is Jesus’ precious blood that washes away our sins, and nothing else. SDAs teach that Jesus’ blood sacrifice is insufficient by itself to pay for our sins; teaching instead that a separate work which Christ began in the year 1844 A.D. is absolutely essential to one’s salvation. This bizarre doctrine is nowhere taught in the Bible. Page 15 and 16 of the SDA Church Manual states: “The investigative judgment reveals to heavenly intelligences who among the dead are asleep in Christ and therefore, in Him, are deemed worthy to have part in the first resurrection. It also makes manifest who among the living are abiding in Christ, keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, and in Him, therefore, are ready for translation into His everlasting Kingdom.” This plainly teaches works salvation. No one is worthy of salvation. SDAs teach that in order to enter into God’s everlasting Kingdom, the prerequisites of abiding in Christ and keeping God’s commandments must first be met. This is self-righteousness and a sure road to Hell. There is absolutely nithing about Hell or the Lake of Fire in the SDA Church Manual; in spite of the preponderance of doctrines covered in the book. Clearly they don’t believe in Hell. On page 190, the book states that the wicked will be resurrected at the end of the 1,000-year Millennium and then will be “consumed” by the same fire that God is going to use to cleanse the earth. In sharp contrast, the Bible teaches in Revelation 20:11-15 that the unsaved will be cast into the Lake of Fire forever; not consumed. SDA is of the Devil—a manmade (or should I say “womanmade”) religion birthed out of confusion, panic and false doctrine. The big question is this—why follow any religion? Jesus never started a religion. Why cannot we just “SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES” as Jesus commanded in John 5:39? Religion is the worst thing that’s ever happened to this dark and dreary world of sin. Salvation is NOT found in any religion; but in a person—The Lord Jesus Christ
