  1. We've just returned to Israel and the region seems to be nothing but a boiling cauldron ready to erupt. In just a few days, we will celebrate the Feast of Weeks, or Shavuot, in Hebrew. Most Christians recognize this holiday as the Feast of Pentecost -- the time when the Holy Spirit descended and empowered His saints to accomplish the mission of global witness to Yeshua (Jesus). 3. LOL! Is that all you got? There is no way you could have read or absorbed the info I took the time to post that supports what you call my "opinion". I took the time to read what you presented. And your one liners and lack of considering contradictory research and evidence shows you are not objective, a scientist or a critical thinker. There are real scientists and archeologists who actually have invested a lifetime in these fields of research dispelling the fraudulent theories in search of the real truths. My weather example in logic has already dispelled your OPINION as man cannot accurately forecast the past. We cannot know all the different conditions that have existed on Earth and to which rocks may have been subject. So, the emphatic statement that decay rates are absolutely constant overall in time is a belief, or a OPINION, not a fact. So radiometric dating is not objective. For example: Even while molten rock is liquid, radioactive isotopes will decay producing daughter isotopes and these will be able to move in the liquid to ascertain extent. But when the magma solidifies it is assumed that the rock becomes a closed system and all subsequent changes between the parent and daughter are locked inside the solid rock. So can we calculate the age of the rock? No, because we don’t know how much of the daughter isotope was in the rock when it solidified. So how can we calculate a date? We would have to "assume" how much daughter element was in the rock when it formed. Another difficulty can arise if a rock has undergone metamorphism, that is, if the rock got very hot, but not hot enough to completely re-melt the rock. Some of the minerals may have completely melted, while others did not melt at all, so some minerals try to give the igneous age while other minerals try to give the metamorphic age. In these cases, the dates look confused, and do not lie along a line. This is the fatal flaw of radiometric dating. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. That the earth is still degassing is also a problem for old earthers, but the age can be salvaged by making assumptions or OPINIONS about the radioactive decay of material in the mantle—all of which cannot be observed. The French philosopher Laplace (1749–1827) published his nebula hypothesis in 1796. When Napoleon commented that Laplace never mentioned the Creator, Laplace said, ‘I do not need that hypothesis’. You materialists continually make this assertion, that you can explain everything without the Creator Elohim, but that is not true. Observations in our solar system are more and more contradicting the nebula hypothesis, which is repeatedly salvaged and reinvented by inventing more and more secondary hypotheses, which are more and more miraculous in their effect. The point is that the interpretive framework drives the interpretation of the evidence. The Bible says that death and decay is the consequence of mankind’s sin, but if the world is millions of years old then death and decay was here long before man sinned and death or decay has nothing to do with sin. The age of the earth is foundational to the scriptures and belief in Elohim the Creator. As Believers in the Most High we are supposed to understand things in spirit and in truth. We are currently residing in this three dimensional construct but our spirit, soul, and thoughts are capable of going beyond our present confines into other dimensions. The supernatural cannot be explained by three dimensional science. No need for another one-liner reply as I will sign-off this thread for lack of time and interest in further one-liner discussion and will probably ignore any other posts I see from you in the future.

  4. According to many Bible scholars and historians the great whore is identified as a great religious system, the Roman Catholic Church, which they claim will fulfil Rev. 17 and dominate the Antichrist for a short time during his rise over the ten kings and until the middle of the Week. Then the beast and the ten kings will destroy her (Rev. 17:9-17). Even catholic divines admit Rev. 17 is a description of their church. (See the writings of Cardinal Ballarmine and the French Prelate. Boussuet.) She has a name on her forehead, MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT. "THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS" Rev. 17:5. This name is certainly appropriate to Romanism. Hundreds of different branches of Christendom have been formed since the reformation. The word HARLOTS no doubt refers to these branches which will become more apostate as the age ends andwill finally become united with Rome again to fulfil this revelation of things after the churches. Many churches are looking to Rome even now. THE MOTHER OF ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. Rev. 17:5. This is very appropriate of Romanism. The many abominations started and practices by the ancient Babylonian cult and her present successor go far to identify this woman as a symbol of Romanism. THE GREAT WHORE. Rev. 17: 1-2. She is called this because of her illicit intercourse with the kings of the Earth in religious practices and uperstitions, and which give her influence over the nations of the ten kings. And there are many more examples!!!!! Even the attire worn by her clergy. Rev. 17:4. Scarlet is the color of Romanism, being reserved for the Pope and his cardinals. This religious denomination is the richest on Earth as pictured in this verse. The drunkenness of this whore proves her to be Romanism. Rev. 17:6-7. This finger of accusation is no mere accident. While it refers to the martyrdom of saints "after the churches," by Romanism, still is it not common knowledge that this same persecution has gone on in past ages? It has been estimated that more than 200,000,000, people have been slain by Romanism in the past. These terrible days of persecution will come again, at least after the rapture of the church, and before Christ comes to the earth, (Rev. 6: 9-11; 7:9-17.

  6. Overwhelming Evidence All the geological and paleontological evidence PROVES beyond the slightest scintilla of a doubt that THERE WAS A WORLD BEFORE ADAM. Most of the dating techniques of scientists -- uranium-argon, potassium-thorium, racemization and thermaluminescence -- as well as observation and logic conclusively show that the rocks under our feet, the bones of ancient animals, and even the charcoal campfires of Paleo-Indians, Neanderthal man, and other ancient hominid remains, are MUCH OLDER than 6,000 years. There was a world before Adam. In fact, there were MANY ages before Adam, and these ages can be carefully distinguished through the study of paleontology, paleo-ecology, and related scientific disciplines. The evidence is INDISPUTABLE. Many independent dating techniques demonstrate that various hominid creatures lived about 500,000 years ago. More primitive types lived as long ago as 1-2,000,000 years. Those creatures, in some cases, were FAMILIAR with fire, used crude chipped stone tools such as hand axes, notched and saw-toothed implements, scrapers, engravers. They were PRE-ADAMIC CREATURES living in a PRE-ADAMIC WORLD. A world which ended in a great catastrophe. And before their time, OTHER worlds existed. The world of the dinosaurs ended about 70,000,000 years ago. That world, too, ended in a cosmic catastrophe. The pre-Adamic world was a world of growth, change, and progress. It was a world where new life forms were introduced from time to time. The fact that this world has been in existence for many millions of years is no longer a matter for debate. It is academic. Any serious author, today, must face squarely the many indications of time found in the geological record. Neo-Creationists believe we must choose either the Bible or science, particularly scientific dating methods. One typical Neo-Creationist argues: "The Bible-believing scientist must face squarely the question, In the area of natural science which shall supersede, the clear assertions of God's inspired Book, or modern man's interpretation of what he thinks he sees in nature?" This particular author continues: "According to Bible chronology only a few thousand years have passed since the creation of the ancestors of our modern plants and animals...Contrariwise, if one accepts the assumption that the inorganic radioisotope clocks were reset wherever they became associated with fossil-bearing material, then apparently at least 600 million years have passed since plants and animals first appeared successively from that time over a duration of some 600 million years" (Frank Lewis Marsh, Life, Man and Time, pp. 67-68). The truth is, there is NO CONTRADICTION between the Biblical record and scientific knowledge of the earth's past. Those who wish to uphold the Bible in the face of new evidence regarding early hominids, homo erectus, homo habilis, or other discoveries of Primitive Man-like creatures, need not worry. There is NO EVIDENCE that such creatures evolved into Modern man. Rather, they lived long ago in a world BEFORE ADAM WAS CREATED -- another world -- another age -- another time. Such discoveries tell us much about the ancient history of the earth. They tell us nothing, one way or the other, about the Scriptures. Creation and Recreation In the pages of Genesis, as it relates to the original creation of the universe, we read the simple, matter-of-fact statement: "In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth" (Genesis 1:1, King James Version). The Amplified Bible renders this verse: "In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned,) and created the heavens and the earth." The Good News Bible states: "In the beginning, when God created the universe..." The Moffatt Translation: "When God began to form the universe..." The Goodspeed Translation: "When God began to create the heavens and the earth..." What exactly does the book of Genesis tell us? That YEHOVAH God created the universe -- the heavens and the earth -- in a period of time called, simply, "the beginning." How long ago that primeval creation occurred we are not told anywhere in the Scripture. To determine that, YEHOVAH God has given us brains and intellect! That time of beginning could well have been six to ten billion years ago. Astronomers calculate that a "Big Bang" took place at that time, out of which the entire cosmos was created. Verse two of Genesis, chapter one, continues: "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep" (King James Version). Is this verse describing the ORIGINAL creation as being formless and void? If so, it would seem a contradiction. Verse one tells us YEHOVAH created the heavens and the earth. When YEHOVAH creates something, it is beautiful, grand, and majestic. In the 38th chapter of the book of Job, we read: "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof? When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?" (vs. 4-7). If the original earth had been created a chaotic ruin, formless and void, the angels would not have "sang together" or have "shouted for joy." Isaiah 45:18 adds more light on this enigmatic passage. The prophet declares: "For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else" (King James Version). The Hebrew word translated "vain" here is tohu and means "to lie waste," "a desolation," "a desert." It can also be translated "confusion," "empty place," "without form," "nothing," "wilderness." It is the very same word used in Genesis 1:2, where we read the earth "was without form." One place says YEHOVAH God created the earth and it "was without form"; in another place we read YEHOVAH did not create the earth "without form." Is this a contradiction? Not at all! The KEY to understanding this apparently complex problem lies in the little word "was." It can also be translated "BECAME." In fact, in Genesis 19:16 it is translated "became." We read: "And Lot's wife became a pillar of salt." What happened, then, is this: When YEHOVAH God originally created the earth, it was indeed a lovely place. He created it with no waste, no wilderness, no desolation. It was inhabited. The angels leaped for joy, and shouted with admiration and enthusiasm when they beheld the primeval earth. But then something happened. It became "tohu" -- that is, waste, a ruin, a desolation. The original earth suffered a great cataclysm -- a cosmic catastrophe. The Hebrew words translated "without form and void" in Genesis 1:2 literally mean a desolation, a wilderness, an empty, uninhabited ruin. These words, tohu and bohu are very strong words and denote CATASTROPHE. They strongly suggest that some sort of primeval cataclysm, or several such cataclysms, occurred. Destruction! Paroxysm! Chaos! Scripture gives no data for determining HOW LONG AGO the universe was created. And in the first chapter of Genesis, it only records THREE creative acts: 1) the heavens and the earth (verse 1); 2) new animal life (verses 20-21); and 3) human life, Adam and Eve (verses 26-27). The first creative act referred to the DATELESS PAST. The creation of NEW forms of animal life, and Adam and Eve, occurred approximately 6,000 YEARS AGO. Obviously, then, the first chapter of Genesis is not describing the original creation of the heavens and earth as occurring in seven consecutive days. After the chaos and destruction which occurred, in verse two of Genesis one, YEHOVAH God began a process of re-creation, reconstruction, if you please, which lasted for seven days. Verse 16 of Genesis one does NOT describe the sun and moon and stars being created on the fourth day. How could light have been created on the first day, but the sun and stars which IMPART LIGHT not till the fourth day? The original Hebrew for "made" in verse 16 actually means "made to appear, made visible." The sun and moon were created "in the beginning." The light came from the sun, of course, but the VAPOR in the earth's atmosphere diffused the light. After the great cataclysm, the earth was cut off from the light of the sun, moon and stars. Darkness prevailed everywhere. As verse two says: "And the earth was (BECAME) without form and void (TOHU and BOHU); and DARKNESS was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." What do we see then? An earth destroyed, in pitch darkness, covered by water, the continents submerged, due to some great cataclysm. During the process of RECONSTRUCTION or RE-CREATION, YEHOVAH God first caused the light from the sun to penetrate the atmosphere once again, in a DIFFUSED manner (Genesis 1:3-5), allowing day and night to become discernible. He created order in the atmosphere (verses 6-8). He caused the dry land to appear once again (verse 10). He caused the earth to once again bring forth life, plants, vegetation, of all kinds. As the turgid clouds and atmospheric disturbances cleared away, He caused the sun, moon and stars to once again become visible from the earth's surface (verses 14-18). Then, having REFASHIONED the surface of the earth, and having prepared it, YEHOVAH created NEW living creatures -- NEW animal life of all kinds, from great whales to small fish, from elephants to rodents, from flying birds to flying fish and insects -- to REPOPULATE the earth, and to REPLENISH it (verses 20-25). Something had happened to the Pre-Adamic earth. It had been overwhelmed in a MIGHTY CATASTROPHE, or a long series of catastrophes, which is briefly described in verse 2 of Genesis chapter 1. But what happened? The world before Adam came to an ABRUPT, screeching end. It was cut short by flooding and upheaval, stroke upon stroke of catastrophe. This one short enigmatic, much misunderstood verse of the Bible, contains within its cryptic message a story that will amaze you. This one little verse may hold a CLUE as to what happened to the earth, after the original time when it was created, beautiful, and to be "inhabited," and before the time of Adam and Eve, when it had to be refashioned, reshaped, refurbished, and rebuilt. This one verse, in essence, may cover a time span of MILLIONS of years. If YEHOVAH God originally created the earth six to ten billion years ago, and over millions of years created VARIOUS and sundry life forms, causing them to become buried in massive burials to form deposits of coal, peat, and oil and natural gas; if He spent millions of years preparing the world for the eventual time when He would create Man IN HIS OWN IMAGE [not some amorphous BLOB]; who are we to complain? Vast Periods of Time? Vast periods of time, and many successive ecological niches, had to exist in the earth, for algal reefs of hundreds of feet to grow in place. Much time was required for vast quantities of vegetation to live, grow, and die, and to become entombed, to create vast deposits of coal in Kansas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. This vast period of time YEHOVAH put to good use. As Robert Macdonald shows, in a paper entitled Geology: "The fossil record contains hundreds of zones, each with its own particular faunal assemblage. What is the chance that such an invariant worldwide sequence of life forms could be built up if they all lived CONTEMPORANEOUSLY, and the sequence in which they are found were only a burial order? How could a burial order based not on water sorting, but on environments do the job?... "Suppose that in a worldwide catastrophe, one group of organisms were brought in from one area and deposited, then another assemblage from another area were deposited on top of that, and so on. A local sequence of life forms would be built up. But the chances would be against the deposition of fossils in the same order in a local sequence in another area. Consider the chance that the same order would occur in all sequences worldwide. It would be NIL! "There is NO WAY to account for the sequence in faunal succession by ONE catastrophe. Nor is there any way to account for this sequence by a SERIES of catastrophes, or by a LONG DRAWN-OUT catastrophe. If all these Paleozoic and Mesozoic organisms were contemporaneous, there would inevitably have been some mixing of early and late forms. "The ONLY explanation is that each geologic horizon does indeed represent a DIFFERENT time in the past during which a unique assemblage of life forms was living and being deposited in many parts of the world. Slow or incremental deposition is therefore essential to give time for worldwide changes in populations of fauna whose remains preserved as fossils vary from one stratum to another." During the geologic ages of the earth's past, life went on in a normal fashion for millions of years. Fossil reefs obviously grew in the place in which they are found. Standing trees, with their roots in place, tracks and trails both on land and on the sea bottoms, layer upon layer containing burrows and borings made by animals just as they do in the sea-bottoms today, all show that most of the geologic column was created OVER MILLIONS OF YEARS, not in the Flood of Noah's time, or some other isolated catastrophe. Although the record in the earth's strata clearly shows that great catastrophes did take place, in the earth's past, the record also shows that there were periods of millions of years in which no violent cataclysms occurred. During these calm, relatively nonviolent periods, great CREATIVE PROCESSES were going on. Cyclothems of coal were formed. As Macdonald points out, coal is commonly found in a sequence of beds called a cyclothem -- a cycle of beds repeated over and over again, perhaps dozens of times. Much time would be needed for such deposits to be made, one on top of another. For the rest of this article, go to: http://hope-of-israel.org/lifeadam.htm Originally edited by: John D. Keyser. If a man comes n with no clothes on , do we really think we ought to just sit and bear with it . no correct it . Jesus rebuked many times . I think our society has become so focused on the rights of the person and this crept into churches and so many jus worry about offending or etc . This is not helping churches at all. When under the guise of seeker friendly , years back they used the open door policy and sat and preached what non beleievers had said make them feel welcome , THIS was a recipe for disaster now the semons are based on HOW to keep folks , rather than how to SAVE FOLKS .

"My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool,” have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts? - James 2:1-4

  13. That was one beautiful testimony. And you are so right, it's gonna be very spiritual, and he(satan) shall destroy wonderfully.. The number one warning Christ gave was, don't be deceived, and satan pretending to be Christ will deceive the majority of the world. And they won't realize it until the true Christ returns. Like you said they can be enticing, now try to imagine when they show up,(which they will)live and in color. It's all about deception, not about getting your head chopped off ,and the only way to avoid it is to have the seal of God,or you will take the mark. Only two choices and the rapture ain't one of them.

  14. We're each a unique creation of God that He meant to reflect His glory in a way unique to us. One part of this is that your walk with God will be different to some extent than mine or anyone else's. Different people need different types of prayer times in different places. For some, prayer is best done in the morning, for others in the evening, for others, throughout the day. For some, it's best done in a quiet room alone, for others while walking outside, for others, while they are driving to work. Bible reading and study are the same way. What works well for one Christian might not for another. Being with other Christians (whether church, a prayer group, bible study group, or Christian friends) is something that can be different for each of us. If you try to do things exactly the same way as someone else, it can become draining and tiring rather than empowering, encouraging, and natural. You need to learn who God created you to be and walk with Him as that unique person. Ultimately, a deep relationship with God is something that comes with practice and time. One thing that many Christians miss is that walking with God is more about *being* than *doing*. It is about becoming who God intends us to be. It is not about checking items off of a giant to-do list that God has made for each of us. Such things as fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, self-control, gentleness, etc.) are things that will naturally grow in our lives as we walk with God more and more. Sins, bondages, wounds, and all those things that encumber us are things that God will deal with in different ways. Some sins in our lives are due to spiritual immaturity; they'll slowly vanish as we grow spiritually. Other sins, addictions, or compulsive behaviors in our lives may be symptoms of bondages, spiritual and emotional wounds, and lies that are present in our hearts. In His timing, God will bring healing, liberation, and truth to deal with those things to free us from them. Hang in there. God has started a good work in your life to transform you into the special work of art and treasure that He intends for you to become. Figure out when and how spiritual disciplines such as prayer, bible reading, meditation and reflection, being with other Christians, ministry, etc. are best done in *your* life. You are meant to be a special person that reflects God's glory to the world in a way that only you can. He wants you to walk with Him on a great adventure that is the path of your life.

A believer must persevere under the brutal conditions, trials and temptations that would come against them. The developed countries has the creature comforts for a man to live comfortable , what about the believers in the poor countries that has to endure the trials and the hardship of daily living. We has to lift them up in prayer and keep the faith and let our lamps shine brightly on the lampstand at all cost.

  17. Maybe it helps you to know your are not alone in this. We all experience this in a greater or lesser way. The advice is all good, yet I know if you are close to despair, there is little that helps sometimes. Being alone and downcast is a opportunity for the devil to whisper untruth to us. Just remember that he is defeated and that we are on the winning side even if we do not feel that way. Think of the Lord in Gethsemane. I can just not imagine how bad he must have felt, so He is quite aware of our failures and shortcomings and trials. Perhaps the act of helping or coming alongside somebody else will assist you in focusing elsewhere. If we spend too much time thinking about ourselves we might find that that is a dead end street and goes nowhere; and that makes us feel even worse. Set yourself a wholesome task - small and easy to accomplish. Does not matter what it is so long as it benefits somebody else. Then another, and another. Then see what happens.

  18. For me, I think it's best to keep things simple in our Christian life and walk. In the 1970s I read a classic book put out by Moody Press called The Threefold Secret of the Holy Spirit. That book helped me to keep things simple. The author's main points were: 1. Have faith with repentance. 2. Have faith with being surrendered or yielded to the Lord (that is, seek to walk with Jesus in our daily lives). 3. Have faith with Christian love. I hope the above might be of help to you, too.

  19. I think the entire chapter in Mark 13 has to be read to see the context that the following verse was taken from. Mark 13 King James Version (KJV) 22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. For simplicity sake , I would quote gotquestion.org on this and see the link for the entire article. Question: "Who are the elect of God?" Answer: Simply put, the “elect of God” are those whom God has predestined to salvation. They are called the “elect” because that word denotes the concept of choosing. Every four years in the U.S., we "elect" a President—i.e., we choose who will serve in that office. The same goes for God and those who will be saved; God chooses those who will be saved. These are the elect of God. https://www.gotquestions.org/elect-of-God.html I am going to agree with the above quote, unless others show me it's different. I am listening.

  23. First off no, it's my body and I don't want a foreign object intruding for any reason (save medical reasons of course). When the mark of the Beast does arrive, it will be unmistakable because it will require allegiance and worship. Think of this. What if this microchip or whatever it turns out to be, in addition to having all your information stored on or in you, is just the tip of the iceberg? In addition to your personal identification and medical records in this thing, what if it was capable of monitoring your health and capable of repairing damage by nano technology, gene therapy and DNA repair? What if it's guaranteed to extend human life significantly? How long would the line be to get chipped and how fast will the world receive it? We're at the point where this technology is being tested and perfected, so it's very plausible this could be the incentive and mob mentality to get theirs first. Who knows?

Jerusalem became a spiritual whore in God's eyes (Ezekiel 16), just as a unified Christian denominational movement led by Catholicism will become a spiritual whore in His eyes during the end-times. That she will lead any movement that unifies the Christian denominational world is only logical, as she is the largest, and this is why she will be called "the Mother of the harlots, and the abominations of the earth." The argument that the Catholic Church did not exist when this prophecy was spoken and therefore cannot be its fulfillment supposes that the Lord does not prophecy well beyond the times in which the prophecy itself is delivered, but we know that not to be the case. Most end-time prophecies have not yet come to fulfillment.

  27. Rev. 17:3 ... I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. The standard interpretation of the Reformers, which still stands, is that the woman is the Roman Catholic Church. She became a harlot/prostitute when she prostituted her religious authority with the political authority of the Roman Empire. The Church fornicated with the State. In Revelation, a woman represents a religious body, of which there are two types in Christianity: the Virgin Bride of Christ, and the Great Whore of worldliness. The Roman Catholic Church was the mother of all churches that became fallen and corrupted by prostituting themselves with the world. Her harlot daughters are all those churches who followed in her footsteps.

  28. The passage in question is relating to Israel in the end times, when they accept Jesus. As I understand it, the reference is to the blessings they will receive on account of their restoration to God. Joel 2:24 “The threshing floors shall be full of grain; the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. 25 I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. 26 “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame. 27 You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God and there is none else. And my people shall never again be put to shame. This is followed up by the passage Peter quoted at Pentecost, in regards to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. In following the chronology given by the prophets Ezekiel and Zechariah, the spiritual restoration comes first, which to me is what the information references. The threshing floors full of grain as a reference to the bread of life, the wine and oil to the joining of the body, Gentile and Jew. Israel is symbolically linked to the fig tree, and Jesus as the vine in regards to the wine. In essence, what you have is a representation of what communion is about, the bread and the wine. The oil being the Holy Spirit. What we can never forget, is that Israel was blinded in part so that the door for the Gentiles was opened. What is being restored to them is their understanding, the blinders are being removed. God bless

  29. Do you remember whatPaul said in Romans 8? We we are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit if so be that the Spirit of God dwells in us. He also clearly tells us that we owe the flesh NOTHING. If what you say is true, then that statement cannot be. We still have fleshly bodies, yes, but our natures are new. And once we put on our new nature by faith and believe, truly believe that our old nature is dead, we will see our minds renewed. So when we see a beautiful woman, we admire God’s ability to create beauty, ans see her soul, not het body. Can this be? Yes, and as a former porn addict, I can attest to it being true. In my own strength, I would fail every time, but praise God, as I have become more and more established in the faith as to who I am, God has given me victory whereas before there was nothing but defeat. Total victory. Blessings, Gideon

  30. As I have already mentioned, this statement is true of every single person walking in their old fleshly nature. But if we have put off the old man, with his deeds, and have put on our new man which is created in righteousness, we are clad in armor to protect us from all Satan hurls at us. What good is armor if a traitor lies within. What good is it to live in a walled and fortified city if the person minding the gate is a traitor? The walls can be forty feet thick and one hundred feet tall and they offer no protection at all if the traitor opens the gate when the enemy comes attacking. We have the mind of Christ. Our job is to believe it. I can tell you from practical experience that once I finally got this concept, my mind had peace. Once I recognized a thought as satan’s temptation, I stood against it, disowned it, and walked on in victory. Exactly how do we walk by faith in victory over the world, the flesh and the devil if our minds are filled with evil thoughts. It is simply an impossibility. That, dear brother, is not victory. Far better to say as Paul did when he cried out to God “Who will set me free from the body of this death? “ than to give into the belief that sin is inevitable and undefeatable and never enter into the rest of God He has paid the price to give us. Far too many are telling God “I have need of nothing” when Satan still rules over them in one regard or another. That was the answer the Laodecian gave. God told them otherwise. What did James tell those who were double minded? Cleaned you hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double minded. If it were not possible, why say such a thing? But it IS possible. It is promised! Blessings, Gideon

  31. I think it’s important to have a community for fellowship and networking once you are saved. Scriptures tell us that one can have ones back if the other one falls. I also think that we have to know and realise that the “church” is JESUS himself and that we take him everywhere we go, in our hearts and in Spirit.

  32. Could be, although if someone is truly born again not "wanting" to go to church to be with other believers seems a bit strange. Out of character for a believer because we need each other. Different than, say, being stuck in an area with no churches or only dead ones. That happened to me on many occasions while in the military, and it was not an enjoyable experience but the Lord was with me through it.

  33. Some folks are not physically able to attend Congregational Worship Services......has no effect on their Salvation.....IN FACT....those who DO attend said Services have a Christian DUTY to visit such people. Some folks do not have a Church Group close to where they live that they can Fellowship with. There may well be some type of Group close, but if that Group is not one the person agrees/identifies with, then they will not go. As a member of the Protestant Church why would I attend a Catholic Mass if they were the only Church around me? I would not. Nor would I go to a Muslim Mosque or a Jewish Synagogue. Some people do not go to Congregational Worship because they believe it was not a practice in the Early Church. In this instance, they are wrong. However, it is also necessary to note that during those times there were precious few buildings set apart as a place of Worship. The vast majority of Congregations met in the home of a Believer. In my opinion, the Church at Jerusalem had a separate building because the Congregation there was quite large. Some hold that it was in the home of a wealthy Believer who had a large home.....but, goodness......HOW LARGE WAS IT? Anyway........there is ample Biblical evidence that Believers should (if at all possible) to attend Congregational Worship! Christians should never be about the Edification of Self, but, rather, the Edification of the Church! And by Church, I mean the Body of Believers! So, to answer the real question in the OP........Saved? If they have done what Scripture says to be saved, then... Yes. Sanctified? That's a whole 'nudder question...... God bless.......

  34. Good Question! There is indication of an answer within the inspired by God letter of Paul, to the Christian Hebrews, about God's instruction and encourgement in the matter. From that particular encouragement from God via Paul's inspired writing I certainly see a very deep failure to heed and to please the saint's master is being demonstrated in the professing bond-servant that does not do as the master encourages and commands. In general I think not attending corporate worship if physically possible reveals the very heart behind the tongue that speaks and, indeed wags against the church bodies as often as an audience can be found will listen to it. It wags against the local bodies of Jesus and refuses to submit to God and enter into His gathering places where the Holy Spirit is present among the saints. The "habit" of not attending church worship gatherings seems (to me) to be a refusal that makes God very sad if not quite angry. No servant can prosper in their missions (as a professing servant of Christ Jesus) by angering their master. Generally angering and disappointing one's master generates a rebuke if not a severe punishment from their master. I personally think the deliberate non attender of the Churches, the one that makes one excuse or another that God's local body is beneath him or her and does not serve God well is seriously deluded; perhaps even turned over to those self delusions by God to their suffering, and even eternal shame. Especially so, if the non attender feels it their mission to upset and discourage other saints from attending corporate worship. Those are not just a lazy saints, they are railers against God and the comforts manifested by the Holy Spirit at the corporate worship gatherings the local church service. As for myself, I will rather attend the poorest excuse of a church and become wonderfully blessed for it, blessed for the obedience if not the grandest of presentation of God's word, than to puff myself up ( as I have done) in my own pride trying to sell God the idea that He has not or cannot make a local body anywhere near to me that is good enough for my presence. I will become gravely concerned that I am not exhibiting the characteristics of a grateful servant, and that if I am not, the problem is with me, and that perhaps I am not saved afterall or that I am suffering under my own delusions. Further, for that reason, I will desire to have little or nothing have nothing to do with the proclamations of any person claiming to be a bond-servant of Christ that cannot attend and worship at a house of the Lord Jesus using as their excuse by their own thinking, that there is no good house of Jesus today. For that is a ministry of distraction, not born of my Lord, but instead of the evil one himself. Is such a person saved? Perhaps, but wow such a wayward servant! I do not want to suffer their countenance, nor their plight, as they rail against the local bodies of Christ Jesus instead of bringing encouragement to them, and to other saints that do gather with the Holy Spirit present and praise God, and to partake in the memorial to Jesus. My own guidance ( and rebuke to me when I raise up with my own excuses) is found for my benefit in the letter to the Hebrews which includes the following excerpt: For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, “Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me; in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’” When he said above, “You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), 9 then he added, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He does away with the first in order to establish the second. And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,”then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin. Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings, sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one. Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. 37 For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

  40. I think you are going to find that problem in most places and most subjects..... People tend not to want to spend the time to understand complex things that take time to gather all the information to understand one's stand on things. It's not that people are not intelligent enough to understand, but they just won't take the time to get all the information to do so.

  41. I'm not going to address your unnecessarily long post, Quasar. Except for the above. There may have been civilizations before Adam, I don't dispute that nor do I dispute science. But, since the Bible only addresses the world from Genesis forward, the rest is not relevant to our faith. And, btw, there is absolutely NO reason to quote yourself and post that long, long, long post a second time. Brevity will get people to read what you post; posting a million word diatribe will not.

Is there a particular point you wish to discuss, or are you simply trying to bombard dissenting opinions out of the conversation by posting such a voluminous amount of information - as to give the false impression of overwhelming, unequivocal support for your position (a.k.a. elephant hurling fallacy)? As discussed with you previously, I am happy to consider your own arguments to specific positions (i.e. a reasonable amount of information to respond to), but am not prepared to put in the time or effort required for a point-by-point assessment of your multiple, mass-cut-and-paste jobs.

  45. Hi Becky I will just share my experience too. In 2010 my husband and I shifted to a town two hours away from the city where we were living. It was a whole new thing to us; we "escaped to the country". God began speaking to me about mentoring younger women and children. In 2013 I gained the certificate I needed to become a school chaplain - the area I felt that God was leading me into. However, this did not work out well as I had a lot of difficulty in the role. I couldn't seem to make it work properly - one of the reasons was that, as a school chaplain in this State, I was practically 'gagged', could not comfort children by putting an arm around them and certainly was not free to pray for them. I asked myself: "what is the point?" when all they really wanted was a secular counsellor; but be paid as a chaplain. There are laws here and political correctness is huge. I decided to leave approximately 18 months after I started, frustrated...... as I really wanted to preach Jesus and tell the children about Him, and pray for them etc. However I had learned a lot; by taking the course and doing the job ........ as ........ God found people in the community to help for free! Oh, how much happier I am as I see women who really need help - and the flow on effect to their children! I can talk to them about the Lord! I can help them understand how to pray, be healed, love their husbands, bring up their children. Oh, what joy! I am useful; as a retiree I can be of practical help in their homes as well. Like Marilyn, I can see these people go on to talk to others as well. It is so much more rewarding. I go home with wonderful joy in my heart - what a privilege it is to serve our Master by serving others. Praise the Lord.

  46. Hi Becky, Thank you for starting this very interesting thread. Now this is very dear to my heart for it has caused a major shift in my life. So....back in the `80`s I was younger, teaching school children, playing sport on weekends and even flying planes. I taught Sunday school, played in the Church band and even lead the team for a while. Life was good, and I also enjoyed swimming in the Murray river, riding my bike with my friends for exercise as well. Skiing of the river and camping was also part of the scene. Boyfriends, as friends and lots of church activities. Life was easy and good. Then I was struck down with Ross River Virus, (by a mosquito) which developed into Chronic Fatigue and the Drs didn`t know how to treat it. I was just plain tired and achie all the time. Thus I couldn`t teach, play sport, fly, go places I was grounded in a big way. Over the next few years I just slept and slept and slept. Gradually I started to be able to have a few hours of `normality` but would then crash again. Overtime I have learned to monitor my time, and with natural products I have gained quite a bit of strength back. I married and now have a wonderful hubby who has only known me like this, and he does some jobs for me if I`m not up to it. So....would I wish that this did not happen? Strangely no. For I have learnt so much from the Lord as He patiently taught me and brought me closer to Him. I now mentor & teach people God`s word and they are teaching others now too. This is far more rewarding for me and as you probably know I do love to come on the forum and listen, share, and learn. A life change. What the enemy meant for evil the Lord turned around for His purposes. Marilyn.

  47. Thanks Botz for this opportunity, i have an interest in the Bible Version Issue, i think it is very profitable for all Christians to consider this, i would like to bring up why there is a need for a perfect English Bible. The Importance of God's Word: Matthew 24:35 reads, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Psalms 138:2 says, "...for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." 1 Peter 1:23 says "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God..." Romans 10:17 says the word of God produces faith: "...faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" 1 Peter 2:2 says it produces spiritual growth: "...desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:" Psalm 12:6,7 "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." I hope them verses speak for themselves. For God to preserve His word on Earth forever is to mean that God's Perfect word must be on Earth somewhere. Since English is one of the most common languages you probably would suspect that God would have a perfect Bible in that language. My problem is that there are over 250 translations all competing for the title of God's Holy word in the English language. As the Holy Spirit is perfect therefore what the Holy Spirit inspires and preserves must be perfect. Sinful men such as Moses, David, Solomon, Peter, Paul and John have been used by God to produce a Bible that is Perfect from beginning to end. Thankfully we can look at the fruits of the Authorized King James Bible in the past 400 years. The KJV produces good fruit [Mat. 7:17-20.] No modern translation can compare to the KJV when it comes to producing good fruit. For nearly four hundred years, God has used the preaching and teaching of the KJV to bring hundreds of millions to Christ. God used the AKJV to go forth unto the ends of the Earth. Great preachers of the Gospel rose. Great revivals have occurred with the AKJV. I would like to compare that with the Modern Bible Versions. eg the NASB is only 52 years old, the NKJV and NIV less than that. The AKJV is the book that has been printed more than any other book in history! If it aint broke why fix it? I readily admit that “the book of the LORD” (the Holy Bible) was in a rather lengthy process of being perfected and brought to full maturity, the Printing Press was invented in the early 1400's and made possible for a common man to own a copy of the Bible in English. I and thousands of other Bible believers hold that the final product was and is the King James Bible. In general terms the Bible versions that existed before the perfection of the King James Bible followed the same Hebrew texts and the traditional Greek texts. For example, you will find 1 John 5:7 in Wycliffe 1395, Tyndale 1525, Coverdale 1535, the Great Bible 1540, Matthew's Bible 1549, the Bishops Bible 1568 and the Geneva Bible 1560 to 1602. (Even the Catholic Douay-Rheims of 1582 included all of 1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one" etc. and not even in brackets. The later Douay version of 1950 still included the phrase but in brackets, but the more recent Catholic versions like the St. Joseph NAB 1968 and the New Jerusalem bible 1985 began to omit the Trinity phrase altogether just like the modern versions like the NASB, RSV, ESV, NIV, NET and Holman versions do. Even regarding the canon of Scripture, or the individual books that taken as a whole form the Bible, a full dogmatic articulation of the canon was not made until the Thirty-Nine Articles of 1563 for the Church of England, the Westminster Confession of Faith of 1647 for British Calvinism. I would hope that you see for yourself the difference between the KJV and all other Modern Bibles, then there is only one, inescapable conclusion you can come to - that the King James Bible is the only one among the hundreds of copies, posers, and pretenders, that has stayed true to the words delivered by God, through angels, to men. It's not about what version you like better, or which one your favorite preacher promotes, but it's about which Bible is the one that God recommends and is pure. Why would the Holy Spirit need to produce new Modern Bibles that contradict the AKJV in many places when God has already given us the AKJV? God is not confused. For God is not the author of confusion. We can change the words of God and expect God not to punish us for doing so? What is the motivation to change God's word? Could Satan be behind the attempt to change God's word through perversions that seek to replace the AKJV? So too in this chapter we read about the book of the LORD. Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail...(Isaiah 34:16) What exactly was this book of the LORD at Isaiah's time in history? Was it all the books of the Bible written up till the time of Isaiah? Was it just the book of Isaiah? In either case the Bible as we know it today was not a completed Book. Isaiah was still being written at this time and there yet lacked many other Old Testament books still to be written. And that's not even mentioning the entire New Testament. Yet God calls it the book of the LORD and commands us to read it. In the NASB we read in Luke 4:4 “man shall not live on bread alone” Now the proper rendering in the AKJV is: “That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God” I hope that the readers of this debate will Pray, and ask the Holy Spirit to guide them into all truth.
