  1. Not only the 4th but all 10 ISAIAH 8 [16] Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.[17] And I WILL WAIT UPON THE LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.[18] Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.[19] And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?[20] TO THE LAW AND TO THE TESTIMONY: IF THEY SPEAK NOT ACCORDING TO THIS WORD, IT IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO LIGHT IN THEM. Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my diciples and wait on the Lord. To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them (explained right after John 3{16}). Didn’t Jesus say that he was the light of the world? PSALM 78 [1] Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. [2] I WILL OPEN MY MOUTH IN A PARABLE: I will utter dark sayings of old: [3] Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. [4] We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. [5] For HE ESTABLISHED A TESTIMONY IN JACOB, AND APPOINTED A LAW IN ISRAEL, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: [6] That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: [7] THAT THEY MIGHT SET THEIR HOPE IN GOD, AND NOT FORGET THE WORKS OF GOD, BUT KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: Who opened his mouth in a parable? Yup, Jesus Christ. And this scripture says he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, that they might set their hope in God and KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. PSALM 119 [32] I will run the way of THY COMMANDMENTS, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.(2COR.6 v.11) [33] Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end. [34] Give me understanding, and I SHALL KEEP THY LAW; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. [35] Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. [36] Incline my heart unto THY TESTIMONIES, and not to covetousness. [37] Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way. [38] Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. [39] Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good. [40] Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness. [41] Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, EVEN THY SALVATION, according to thy word. Here again we find it’s the law (commandments) and the testimony (of Jesus) and this leads to SALVATION. PSALM 119 [165] Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. [166] Lord, I have hoped for thy SALVATION, and done THY COMMANDMENTS. [167] My soul hath kept thy testimonies; and I love them exceedingly. [168] I have kept thy precepts and THY TESTIMONIES: for all my ways are before thee. and here again REV.12 [16] And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.[17] And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, WHICH KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, AND HAVE THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST. WHICH KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, AND HAVE THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST.

  2. The wildfires are over the mountain from me but they are massive and uncontained so far. Because of Santa Ana winds, the embers are blown to many other areas to start new fires. Fire departments from all over the area and other cities are helping. I hear some will come from other States. Fire fighters have been fighting the fires for two days with no sleep....they hope to give them some rest tonight with some replacements. Dozens of homes have been burnt down so far. At least 148,000 are under mandatory evacuation in these fires near Los Angeles. News coverage is non-stop on our five local stations since late last night. I keep checking the different stations. As an animal lover, I found this interesting: A reporter happened across a fire fighter breaking open an outdoor bird cage containing 3 Cockatiels. One bird flew away but the reporter who owns a Cockatiel and her camera man rescued the other two birds. They put them in their news van, and them came back to report more on the fires. Another news reporter with the same station apparently rescued two kittens from a home. He was quite scratched up but did rescue them. A small rabbit was also seen hopping across a highway to escape the flames. Last year a man actually took the time to save a wild rabbit from flames... it's on YouTube.

  3. What did scientists believe throughout history… Egyptian Scientists believe: Pharaoh had to perform a magic spell else the sun would not rise. The sun was rolled across the sky by an invisible dung beetle named Keptry, and eaten by the cow goddess. Viking Scientists believe: The world rests in an enormous tree, at the bottom of the tree is the land of the dead, at the top of the tree is Asgard. It is surrounded by a sea with a big snake. The rainbow is the bridge that connects Asgard to Earth. Greek Scientists believe: Earth is floating in water Roman Scientists believe: Planets are gods that are playing games in order to decide our future. You can learn what the gods are planning by looking at animals innards, and by that predict the future. Anglo-Saxon Scientists believe: Storms are cause by cloud people in the sky, they came in air-ships to steal crops, and used the bad weather as cover. But you could pay a weather-wizard to keep them away. Todays Scientists believe: Somehow the universe was created in perfection my some gigantic explosion. Out of that came the planet earth that somehow can perfectly sustain life. On Earth lived some living goo that turned into fish what then grew legs walked on land, those leg-fish somehow over time turned into monkeys – that somehow meta-morphed into mankind. The foolish, stupidity of ungodly scientists has not changed...!

  8. We read in Romans; Romans 3:4 (NKJV) Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: "That You may be justified in Your words, And may overcome when You are judged." “Let God be true and every man a liar.” There is just so much in these few words. It shows our need for God in all things. Makes plain our utter depravity, as we are in ourselfs. Makes our absolute dependency on God a absolute necessity. Scripture also says that “God alone is good.” Making even more plain our utter need for a reliance on God in all things. For this saying is true; “if it’s me it’s sin, if it’s God, it’s not.” This truth known and deeply felt and held in the heart, keeps one’s heart tender and soft before God. For when a believer sees “self” as his worst enemy. As in fact in is, all the evil that he possesses. His sinking down before God becomes a most humbling and freeing state of heart. Than as he sees the need and necessity of his death to and from all that was born in Adam. The command to “reckon one’s self dead onto sin but alive onto God”, becomes the most freeing and blessed and glorious command ever given. God’s love and grace is known and felt in such a richness and deepness, that being identified with Him in His death in all things, becomes the believers greatest joy. That God may and would manifest Himself in the believer, a little more today, than yesterday, and a little more tomorrow than today. To the end that Christ would be written in our hearts that he could be read by all men in the here and now. Blessings to all that call on God from a pure heart. And may that heart be made purer everyday that we might walk pleasing to Him in all things. So that the scripture that “we might walk in newness of life”, be a real and manifested thing in our lives. Much love in Christ, Not me

  13. Many scientists believe is a God of some sort and some idea of intelligent design. But they don't make those views known because the system will find a way to mess up their life. Ask Guillermo Gonzalez sometime. A brilliant astro physicist that was marginalized and eventually forced out of Iowa State University because he wrote "The Privileged Planet" which simply made the point that things were set up in such a way as to suggest an intelligent designer. This all happened right next door to me here in Iowa. Truly sad what they did to Dr. Gonzalez. And the destruction of Dr. Gonzalez's career was started and led by the atheist head of the religion department at Iowa State U. If you want to keep your position, get tenure, or get access to research grants, you will espouse the party line and keep your own personal views to yourself.

  19. Yes, you gave a very good exposition on the rest-day of God/Jesus. But the OP's Sabbath Issue is, should Christians keep the Sabbath-rest day law or not, whether it falls on the Jewish or Gentile Sabbath-rest day.? ... . EXODUS.20:6 (NKJV) = 8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. . Those misguided Christians who say that Christians do not have to keep the Sabbath-rest day law are proponents of lawlessness, unrighteousness and sins, similar to saying that Christians do not have to keep God's Law against blasphemy, idolatry, taking God's name in vain, dishonoring your parents, murder, adultery, stealing, bearing false witness against your neighbor/brethren/friends(lying) and coveting your neighbor's belongings. "Go and sin no more, lest a worse thing comes upon you."(JOHN.5:14 & 8:11)

  20. Hi Uber Genius, 1. The power of the Godhead is displayed primarily in the creation of the world, and appeals to the human reason. 2. The purpose of the Godhead is declared particularly in the revelation of truth, which appeals to the human conscience. 3. The presence of the Godhead is disclosed perfectly in the manifestation of the Son, and appeals to the human heart. These facts express a personal Creator, a personal Revealer and a personal Manifester. All three are realised and recognised in Christ. Marilyn.

  23. The way I understand it is that we are to live that life every day because we have the Holy Spirit..... be in constant contact with the Lord... Not a day goes by that I don't want to pick up the phone and call my dad over something..... and instead of calling him, I just remember how he felt about the subject.... I don't disagree with the need to do things, but it is not a one day a week thing; it's a complete way of life.... The Holy Spirit went to work with me every day, and was a huge help.

  24. Welcome Fam, My curiosity was sparked when reading the Book of Genesis about the beginnings of creation itself. Within the first chapter, most notably the ending of it, the Bible reads, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beast of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground -everything that has the breath of life in it -I give every green plant for food." -Genesis 1:29-30 NIV With this small portion of knowledge, it can be noted that mankind was constructed to be overseers of Earth, but also noting that our only source of food was that of the trees, bushes, plants, and all the was considered vegetation. Giving the norm that mankind was once only vegan and vegan alone. I am more than sure the same rules applied to the beast and animals that roamed the earth at the time, but my question here is not whether or not we we're, but if we should in todays day and age. Moreover, I would love to hear if anyone agrees with my statement above, I will certainly love everyones opinion on this subject. Continuing on this matter, is why give us the need of food? In other words, why did God make us in his image, but with the ability of eating daily to survive? In this sense, we we're victims of starvation, right? And if that implies, then why create something that needs to be refueled? What is the hidden purpose of this? There is much more to discuss here but I rather leave it to that to have a conversation start, for as my mind is baffled on such interesting topics. Feel free to express yourself on the notion and hope to hear from many of you. -J.D.

  27. What is "the apparent contradiction" in the verses you quoted? I don't see a contradiction. There are several places in the OT where God let 1 person see or hear something no one else standing there saw. I think that's what happened in Acts with Paul. His traveling companions saw the light around him but they didn't hear what was said to him.

  29. Hello @Sister Cess, Psalms 73 and 77 both deal with distraction, distractions caused by occupation with others, and with self, and in both cases the answer was to become preoccupied with God. However, you are a young single woman who has very natural feelings toward a young single man, who shares your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, which is lovely. The Lord knows your heart, he knows how you feel: talk it over with Him, commit your feelings to Him, and ask that His will be done; then just enjoy this young man's company when you have it, and get on with your life. For if it is the Lord's will that this young man should reciprocate by sharing the same feelings of attachment, then he will. Your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ is not based on the way you feel, but on the promises of God, and is sure and steadfast, and cannot be lost. So smile and perform the function that you occupy within your Christian community with thanksgiving. You are God's workmanship, so rejoice in Him, and be glad. Within the love of Christ our Saviour, our Lord and Head. Chris

  36. Hey Cess, If you can find a way to not be distracted by a guy you like you just may win a Nobel Prize. LOL Seriously we have all been where you are. The best solution is to date the person if that person also likes you. I've read this whole thread and this is why almost all the answers say go out with him if he also likes you. Back in the 1980's I met a girl in a local bar because she was a bartender there. I only saw her for 30 minutes the first night I went in there. I didn't even get her name that first night. But I couldn't get her face out of my mind. I went back there and eventually got her talking to me. The problem became shew only liked me as a brother. I knew her 16 yrs and I also fell in love with her 2 small daughters. For 16 yrs I couldn't get that girl out of my mind. I now haven't seen her since around 2006 but I still think of her. Occasionally I go to her Facebook page but she rarely uses FB. I sent her a friend invitation and she accepted it so now I can leave her messages. I usually wish her a Happy Birthday and then a Merry Christmas. Last yr she said she wanted to talk a bit so I gave her my phone # but she never called me. This is how love and life is. I wish you good luck getting that guy off your mind. I was never able to do that but perhaps you will.

We are in a state of being saved.. The promise of Jesus is guaranteed / assured if we die today if we believe and have faith in Jesus.. Yes if we end up disbelieving Jesus and no longer trusting in His atonement we are fallen away and damned..

  39. Well I was a drunk. I loved it! Nobody else did. Homosexuality is so easily dismissed as fine. Everything else isn’t. However, God condemns it more fervently than other sins. Why? Well. It pollutes another. It separates one from all but a “community”, it injures ones body unspeakably (look it up)?. It’s lying to God. It’s rebellion completely! It destroys salvation when one embraces it as “who they are”. It is a heartbreak to the Body of Christ.

  41. Let's not be naive though. Belief in God is not the same as being saved! The devil believes in God. H also might know more about him than we do. One cannot merely believe in a creator, one needs to understand that we are sinners, and sin separates us from God but that God made a provision, a way to deal with that separation. Once an if a person acknowledges the one true God one still needs to accept God's will and submit to God not jast as the creator, but as the Lord over their life. Apart from that, we are still in rebellion and eternally separated from God. The message then, should be Christ centered, millions believe in a creator, but are still lost. Apart from the Bible the specifics of the message go unnoticed for most people.

  42. Yes, we can know that there is a Creator through nature. All the beauty of sunsets, waterfalls, oceans, and even thunderstorms reflect on the nature of God. The beauty of flowers, the uniqueness and abilities of creatures reflect also on God. The human cell and replication of the same is so marvelous they certainly show intelligent design. Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, Rom 1:19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, Rom 1:21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Rom 1:22 Professing to be wise, they became fools To know God's saving grace we must go back to the truths in the Bible. I believe that the people who receive the revelation of God in nature will receive more light leading to receiving Christ. But when we deny the natural evidence of God our minds are darkened and our hearts hardened to receiving more.

  45. Many herbivores have ginormous incisors that put ours to shame BTW. Those and our canine teeth are a joke; I can barely tear overcooked broccoli with them, let alone sinewy flesh. Go look up gorilla, camel, or even saber-toothed deer fangs. These are all animals classified as herbivores, meaning that as a general rule they eat plants. Sure, they may eat bugs and such on occasion, but that doesn't disqualify them from being herbivores. Not that Harvey Diamond is particularly relevant here, but this quote from him fits: “You put a baby in a crib with an apple and a rabbit. If it eats the rabbit and plays with the apple, I'll buy you a new car.” We have broad, flattened incisors like herbivores. Our canine teeth are short and blunt like herbivores. Our molars are flattened with nodular cusps like herbivores. Our saliva has carbohydrate digesting enzymes, unlike omnivores and carnivores. We have a long and complex colon like herbivores (omnivores and carnivores have short colons so that meat doesn't rot in there...ours is 10x the length of the body instead of the omni/carni's average of 4x or so). We have flat nails instead of sharp claws. Genesis records that God designed us to be plant eaters before the fall. Because we live in a fallen world only, God seems to have allowed eating meat, but it wasn't part of his original design. He even tells us in Isaiah that we'll all return to that way of living anyway. The modern way in which we raise "meat" is also incredibly inhumane. The industries regularly does awful things like keep female pigs in gestation crates so small they can't move for months at a time, castrate without anesthetics, grind live baby chicks, etc. We have the freedom of choice to do those things, since we have authority over them, but since when is having authority an excuse for downright abuse? Should a husband abuse his wife "because he has authority"? Hopefully you agree the answer is no. Why abuse those that are in our care? You CAN eat meat, sure, but it's not ideal.
