  2. The Assembly of God teaches that it is proof. I don't agree with that. On Worthy we say that the fruit of the Spirit is evidence: love joy peace long-suffering, kindness goodness meekness faithfulness and self control. Also, the Holy Spirit will bear witness in your heart that you are God's child. You will be able to understand the Scriptures more clearly and see how they apply to your life.. These are all evidence of the Holy Spirit being in your life.

  3. Scripture says; Luke 16:10 (NASB) "He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. “faithful in a very little thing”. Scripture calls us to be faithful in a very little thing, as a steppingstone to the greater thing. If we fail to be faithful in the small things is it a wonder we’re not entrusted with that which would be considered a larger thing? As believers who would be pleasing to our Creator in both large and small things, let us, as He has said be faithful in the small things. So as scripture says; James 4:10 (NASB) Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you. It is the small things that we must be found faithful in first. But what does in mean to be found faithful in the small things? Prayer? Bible reading? Sharing Christ? All these things are good and proper. But what is still lacking? You can have all these things and still not be found faithful in the small things. For if you don’t have the one ingredient to add to all the above, your building castles in the air with your own imagination and self effort. What is that one thing? ...... Righteousness. So what is one to do? When the Spirit of Christ in your heart, brings something to your attention, don’t think it’s to small a thing to worry about. For at that moment of time, that is the obedience God is calling you to. For at that moment of time, that is the standard to which you have obtained. Whether it be a large or small thing. For to be inwardly directed by the Peace of Christ in your heart is what we have been called to. Paying attention to the Peace of Christ in our hearts, and it’s nudgings, in the small things, is that that causes us to grow into the larger things. We have all been called to the larger things, but as new born babes we have to be found faithful in the small things first. For God’s heart is set on our growth and obedience in the small things, is that that comes first. So let us agree with Him, that that too, is what our hearts are set upon. For God would have His children, all His children, walk in newness of life, which is walking in righteousness before Him in the here and now. Blessings, as wise builders, we strive to build, and make this a living reality in our life’s. Much love in Christ, Not me

Exodus 6:14-20 New King James Version (NKJV) The Family of Moses and Aaron 14 These are the heads of their fathers’ houses: The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi. These are the families of Reuben. 15 And the sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman. These are the families of Simeon. 16 These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. And the years of the life of Levi were one hundred and thirty-seven. 17 The sons of Gershon were Libni and Shimi according to their families. 18 And the sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. And the years of the life of Kohath were one hundred and thirty-three. 19 The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of Levi according to their generations. 20 Now Amram took for himself Jochebed, his father’s sister, as wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses. And the years of the life of Amram were one hundred and thirty-seven.

  7. I agree with willa, we are all so different that our transformation is not necessarily generic. For some it is a process, for others it is immediate. It's not that God is different, He is the same for everyone, but not everyone is truly ready to submit themselves to God. At a moment, they may respond with emotion, but what is truly in their heart only God knows.

  10. The superficial answer is “Breaking of God’s law.” The deeper answer is “Sinning is the state or condition of all man.” For example, a fish swims and a sinner sins. Everyone is born into a condition called sin (Except for Jesus who is without sin). No one can escape this condition by obeying the law or doing righteous works. The bible compare the righteousness of a sinner to a filthy rag. Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. The law was given to make everyone aware that he/she is a sinner. Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. The law cannot save anyone. But the law is necessary. Because without it, everyone will not know what is sin. Resulting in not having the need for a saviour (Jesus).

  11. Hi guys! I hope I posted this in the right section. I wanted to share another perspective of modesty culture through what I have learned from the following blogger (I will also put the link below; not all of the article is below.): https://sometimesmagical.wordpress.com/2012/09/28/modesty-the-insidious-objectification/ "... I’m going to go even further than that and say that the principle of modesty is the foundation of rape culture and objectification. The assumption that women need to cover their bodies in order to get respect from others or to have self-respect for themselves is what makes people think it’s okay to say that a woman’s dress contributed to her rape or sexual assault. It’s the assumption that women’s bodies are always sexual when exposed that makes people think that exposing _____ amount of skin means she’s there to be looked at or used for sex or that she wants to have sex. And further, it’s that assumption that an exposed body is a sexualized body that makes people think it’s okay to degrade and objectify women who have exposed their body, without regard to the reason for the exposure. Modesty isn’t just another way of reducing a girl to her body parts. It is the way of reducing a girl to her body parts. The obsession of covering or uncovering a woman’s body is the same obsession. And it comes from the same mindset—that women are there for men, either as temptresses or toys. Either way, her body isn’t there for her. It’s all about how it looks to someone else—specifically some other man. Her body loses its function as the vehicle through which she lives and instead becomes the measure of how others determine her virtue. And there is no winning! Modesty teachings range all over the place. I used to get emails on modesty when I attended Bob Jones University. Everything was a “stumbling block.” Pants drew attention to the butt. Skirts drew attention to the butt. nude hose made legs look sexy. Colored stockings made legs noticeable, thus indecent. Bare legs made guys think of sex. The only “safe” option was to not have legs! Oh, it is such an effective way of keeping women confined. It’s such an effective way of keeping them feeling guilty for their bodies, ashamed and hyper-aware of every aspect of it. It is the perfect method of reminding them that their primary function in life is sex-appeal. How convenient to put the responsibility on women to be viewed as human beings. How convenient for men to be told they can’t control themselves when it comes to sex. It’s so much easier to believe it’s uncontrollable and to blame someone else for the prejudice, superiority, and privilege than to admit that one is prejudiced, views women as inferior, and is too lazy to fight against the culture that reduces women to body parts. But newsflash! My humanity isn’t determined by my dress! Walking out the door butt naked shouldn’t in any way diminish my personhood to anyone. I don’t have a problem seeing a guy as a lesser person because he’s shirtless. And before we get into the “but men are visual and wired to view women that way,” let me just remind everyone that I’m attracted to women too. I’m attracted to the exact same body parts as men. And I’m very much a visual person in my attraction. But I don’t have a hard time remembering that a beautiful girl is a person, EVEN IF SHE’S DRESSED IN NEXT TO NOTHING! I don’t stop seeing her because I see her cleavage! It’s time to stop focusing on what women are wearing and take a good hard look at the cultural mindset that allows men to think of women as “less than.” In the end, if, like this guy, you have a hard time seeing me as a whole person, it’s not my clothing that makes it difficult for you to view me as a whole person; it’s your prejudice that makes it difficult for you to view me as a whole person. And that isn’t my responsibility to change. It’s yours. My world doesn’t revolve around men. When I get dressed in the morning, I’m not thinking of men. I wear what makes me happy or what serves my needs, regardless of whether someone else likes it or not. If I wear shorts, it’s not to get a guy’s attention. If I wear an ankle-length skirt, it’s not to “protect” a guy’s mind or prevent him from thinking about me. I dress for me and no one else. Show a little modesty, guys, and stop thinking that everything to do with my body has something to do with you." For more in-depth reading, I really liked this second link, which is a 12-part series. It was so interesting, read it all in one sitting: http://fiddlrts.blogspot.com/2014/05/modesty-culture-part-1-introduction.html I personally don't agree with his 1 Timothy interpretation, but anyway- both are very insightful and thought-provoking and I thought I would share.

  12. I was at a BioLogos conference in Houston about 2 years ago. Both Francis Collins and NT Wright were there for the first night. In addition to their many other talents, both are musicians and played a couple of entertaining songs together - it was a great evening! Collins hasn't been able to do anything officially with BioLogos for the last several years due to his position as head of the NIH, but he certainly added a considerable amount of cache to the organization. I'm much more of a scientist than a theologian, but I imagine NT Wright has also added considerable cache in his area of influence.

  16. You know if you really want to read about the Holy Spirit ... the book I recommend is R.A. Torrey's Book ... the Person and the Work of the Holy Spirit. When I began my walk, I was very hesitant about reading any modern books ... since I couldn't test the fruit. So I was looking at old preachers of the Great Awakening periods as those revivals impacted the world greatly! One of those preachers was D.L. Moody -- from which Moody Bible Institute remains as a solid Bible believing college ... and the first superintendent of Moody was Moody's right hand man -- R.A. Torrey. These guys led revivals all over the world. Another book you may be interested in is -- Secret Power by D.L. Moody. God bless, George

  21. You're correct. The idea is paying homage. That's ongoing, not a one off. It's idolatry. I know that can be forgiven as there is only one sin that's unforgivable, and it's not idolatry. While this is mostly correct, how could we know for an absolute fact the destiny of everyone? Let me point out some biblical fact that should modify the current conclusion: 6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. At the hour of judgement a messenger is calling for repentance. This could be explained away if this message coincided with instituting mark of the beast. It appears as though it comes after the 144,000 are already with the Lamb before the throne, making this message come after GT as the 144,000 are no longer on earth, and though it's not specified, the gathering of the elect has occurred as well. Verse 8 says Babylon is fallen. Now whether that means the fall of Babylon is assured, or it happened, or it's in the abstract is up for debate I suppose. I'm thinking it's the physical fall, so again late GT. Verse 9-11 we know well enough and I'll just post a critical concept concerning 'receive'; 2983 lambánō (from the primitive root, lab-, meaning "actively lay hold of to take or receive," see NAS dictionary) – properly, to lay hold by aggressively (actively) accepting what is available (offered). 2983 /lambánō ("accept with initiative") emphasizes the volition (assertiveness) of the receiver. This is an activity based on the emotional condition of the taker. This isn't 'receiving' at all, it's an active, willing act of taking with aggressive undertones. This could never be renounced by the taker at any time? On a daily basis, one would assume, the mark would be utilized, it's a lifeline to food and water that's why the verb here denotes activity, which would be ongoing. So in both cases of 'worship' and 'receive' it's up to the individual to pay homage and take, probably daily, for sure weekly. Not a single person could ever see the error of their way and repent and be forgiven of these personal actions? And then there's this; "Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." Why would this be mentioned here? And 'blessed...from henceforth'? So others died in the Lord before this. Why this special blessing? Followers of the Way would already know this. I think coupled with verse 6 we are seeing a chance to repent before final destiny after the gathering of the elect. Rev 16 9 "...and they repented not to give him glory." 10 "...and repented not of their deeds." This is said after two plagues are poured out. If repentance was off the table why mention it here during the pouring out of the wrath of God? “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” - Romans 10 "The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." - Acts 2 After the day of the Lord begins? Not that it matters when scripture says 'everyone who calls on the Lord will be saved' with no restriction on time or circumstance. This isn't the same as Matt 7. Here it's an appeal, in Matt 7 Jesus is saying, "Not everyone who invokes my name..." Hmm...I don't see a connection. The deception and delusion is 'among those who perish' and we do not know who that might be. And the condemnation here is for those who did not receive the LOVE of the truth, and those who did not BELIEVE the truth. I'm not of the opinion that idolatry and paying homage to the wrong authority necessarily equates to never receiving the love of the truth or a resolve to believe not. An example would be; Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. -Matt 7 These are professing believers thinking they were doing the work of the Lord. I'm betting these are the focus of 1 Thess 2:9-12. Them that believe not, the unsaved who have never professed the Lord, may or may not find themselves in such a condition. A Muslim who has been taught from birth the Bible is unreliable may not receive the love of the truth until some dire circumstance occurs, like the sun going dark, the moon turning to blood, and the stars falling from heaven. In my opinion there would yet be a chance to accept with goodwill the agape of the truth. At the point of wrath maybe not, maybe it really is all over and the time for repentance has come and gone. Rev 14 is the final chance to turn from unrighteousness and "Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." To wrap this up; No one is advocating taking the mark or worshiping the image to alleviate immense pressure from the battle for the souls of mankind when we have knowledge of the consequences. That would be seen as rebellion and turning away from the one who Saves. No one is saying Rev 14:9-11 is incorrect, or superseded, it will happen as spoken. The gist is one is able to turn from the path of unrighteousness and renounce personal behavior and belief right up to some unspecified moment (when wrath begins?) and appeal to the Lord for salvation. Here's how I feel about the whole situation; If there is even the slightest chance in the grimmest of moments at the last tick of time, no matter previous behavior or thought, a person, a soul, must be saved. Love would so dictate being given every chance of salvation, the consequence too dire. We all realize the destiny for those who refuse salvation is eternal torture? It's smoke and flame and torment, with no relief, FOREVER! The God I know will do everything He can, till the final nanosecond, to justify every possible soul, and receive them to Himself to keep them from eternal misery. So when an individual makes the personal choice to renounce their ways and appeals to the Lord, they will be saved.

  24. I believe for some people they are saved and born again at once, and others are not. I first was convicted of sin, repented and decided to follow Christ when I was in the 8th grade. But I had a lot of bad teaching and was caught in a web of trying to be good enough to go to heaven. Deception. Even though I was baptized, it took some years for me to understand that salvation is by faith. So I backslid and came back to God in 1970. This time when I was convicted of sin I knew I was lost and could never be good enough. Only God's mercy would save me. Again I start walking in the Spirit obeying that which He showed me to do. Finally I surrendered all-- all my doubts, struggles and resistance, all my questions and every area of my life. That was when the Holy Spirit came upon me and I knew but I knew God. Every word of the Bible came alive to me and was pertinent. Joy flooded over me for days. Some people call it a second blessing. I haven't figured it all out. I began in the Spirit in the 8th grade and started over in the Spirit when I was 25.

That is why you keep saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD.’ 18Now get to work. You will be given no straw, yet you must deliver the full quota of bricks.” 19The Israelite foremen realized they were in trouble when they were told, “You must not reduce your daily quota of bricks.” 20When they left Pharaoh, they confronted Moses and Aaron, who stood waiting to meet them. 21“May the LORD look upon you and judge you,” the foremen said, “for you have made us a stench before Pharaoh and his officials; you have placed in their hand a sword to kill us!” 22So Moses returned to the LORD and asked, “Lord, why have You brought trouble upon this people? Is this why You sent me? 23Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has brought trouble on this people, and You have not delivered Your people in any way.” Exodus 5:15-22

  37. In this particular passage, this is an individual who was bound by the devil -- the devil is the strongman, within a person who needed to be cast out. This passage has nothing to do with the passage in Revelation. Rev 20:1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. Rev 20:2 And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, Rev 20:3 and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while. The problem is that preterists do not believe a great many things that are VERY OBSERVABLE from the naked eye. 1st -- Since Preterists believe that we're in the Kingdom now, they are not looking toward a 1000-year reign of Jesus. They believe we're in the Kingdom now ... which is only partially true as you can OBSERVE with the human eye why this is absurd. 2nd -- the fact that the DEVIL is not bound and is running about like a roaring lion shows that we're not in the millennial kingdom. 3rd -- Preterists also cannot observe the simple reality that a STATE of ISRAEL exists today in fulfillment of prophecy. Just a simple understanding ... if God is in control -- and God allowed the State of Israel to be created .. then God has a plan. This simple observable fact -- should make every preterist re-examine his understanding of the last days. Perhaps, just looking around ... seeing what you can see with your very eyes ... that observable events in our generation makes easy to compare Scripture with Scripture. Preterists believe it was all fulfilled in 70 A.D. but Scripture clearly tells us -- Dan 12:4 But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” Just read the Scriptures in light of events taking place, and you'll find that the book is actually being unsealed completely in our generation! 38. 'And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him. .. Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, .... and cut off the foreskin of her son, ...... and cast it at his feet, and said, ........ "Surely a bloody husband art thou to me." So He let him go: then she said, .. "A bloody husband thou art, .... because of the circumcision."' (Exodus 4:24-26) Praise God! For He is a Holy God. (Genesis 17:9-13) "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Hebrews 10:31)

  39. 'By faith Moses, when he was come to years, .. refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; .... Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, ...... than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: .. for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, .. not fearing the wrath of the king: .... for he endured, ...... as seeing Him who is invisible.' (Hebrews 11:24-27) Praise God! 'For He (God) saith to Moses, .. "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, .... and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion." So then it is not of him that willeth, .. nor of him that runneth, .... but of God that sheweth mercy. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, .. "Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, .... that I might shew My power in thee, ....... and that My Name might be declared throughout all the earth." Therefore hath He mercy on whom He will have mercy, .. and whom He will He hardeneth. Thou wilt say then unto me, .. "Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?" Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? .. Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, .... "Why hast thou made me thus?"' (Romans 9:15-20) Praise His Holy Name!

  42. I'm not sure what your backgreound is, but there are entire denominations of churches which don't teach against entire classes of sins, such as homosexuality. They even allow homosexuals to be in the clergy in some denominations. So yes, they are providing a "license to sin" doctrine.

  43. This world is becoming more like the twilight zone every day and its disturbing. Most people usually follow the majority and how they feel and think. If more people are telling others things are ok that are not, then the minority are accused of being haters. The minority tells people the truth because of Love not hate, because they want people enjoying eternity, not being in misery. Come quickly Yeshua.

  44. Without repenting towards the Lord Jesus Christ for sin, none of these folks are getting into heaven... 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, (sex outside of marriage) nor idolaters, nor adulterers, (sex outside of marriage) nor effeminate, (homosexual men acting out a woman's role) nor abusers of themselves with mankind, (male and female homosexuals in general) (10) Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. But thanks be towards Jesus Christ for those who have truly repented towards Him. And with that repentance, comes forgiveness and an amended life. Along with the Holy Spirit's conviction about sin, and through a renewed mind, we come to see sin as He sees it, and are eternally grateful for God's very real forgiveness! Pass this on! 1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary: Repentance 1. Sorrow for any thing done or said; the pain or grief which a person experiences in consequence of the injury or inconvenience produced by his own conduct. 2. In theology, the pain, regret or affliction which a person feels on account of his past conduct, because it exposes him to punishment. This sorrow proceeding merely from the fear of punishment, is called legal repentance, as being excited by the terrors of legal penalties, and it may exist without an amendment of life. 3. Real penitence; sorrow or deep contrition for sin, as an offense and dishonor to God, a violation of his holy law, and the basest ingratitude towards a Being of infinite benevolence. This is called evangelical repentance, and is accompanied and followed by amendment of life. Repentance is a change of mind, or a conversion from sin to God. Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation. 2 Cor 7. Mat 3. Repentance is the relinquishment of any practice, from conviction that it has offended God.

  45. Two things occurred sister . For If we read on other statements this person has said , its very clear they found men , women , who taught and expounded dangerous heresays . What a man or woman truly loves , is what they will seek out . I have heard those teachings and do you know what the worst part is , Supposed christain leaders and popular men within the church itself taught this . Two things . The PROPHETS , LEADERS have taught lies and people have loved to have it so. The churches teach this stuff. Instead of showing true love and correcting those in error , they actually hate them and think its love cause its all friendly and accepting . But how can it be love when it allows folks to remain in darkness and the end is death .

  46. Hi Melinda12, I think you did really well in the way you responded to the medium. Push too hard and it may be "casting pearls before swine". The demons attached to mediums and spiritists maintain a conceited and proud presence in them so they will come on as superior to Christians and claim superior knowledge and powers. You weren't literally asked to give a reason for your hope in Christ but in a sense the situation demanded it. Well done anyway, and stay ready...we all need to. 1Pe 3:15-16 (15) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (16) Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
