  1. John preached repentance. David was an illustration of true repentance. God's grace and help have sustained me through the last few years. Many times I have refrained from doing things that might not be pleasing to God because I didn't want to lose that fellowship.

  2. There is vert strict rules as to what was decided to add to the canon.... I don't think we can answer all those questions that it has to muster to add it to the canon.... However that does not make it untrue as some people are want to do..... it was within the general knowledge of the people during Jesus time and during the first century when the New Testament was written. It has always been part of the Ethiopian bible and there are fragments of many copies within the dead sea scrolls.... It's also referenced by the writers of the New Testament and many of the first century church fathers.... Should it be canon.... no I don't think so, but I do believe 1Enoch is mostly true and should be understood so as to grasp some of the context of the Bible itself. 2 Enoch is a very bad translation and 3 Enoch is basically Jewish Kabbalistic mysticism and should be totally rejected... Just my two cents.

  3. Individuals have worn everything from animal skins, dust and ashes, sackcloth, rent (torn) clothing, and armbands. All have been worn as symbols of remorse, grieving, and repentance, starting with Adam, Job, Jacob, David on through to today. Mourning is more than hurt, it is also sorrow at personal loss, it is remorse, it is a process of acknowledgement, of repentance, and even regeneration. Without repentance of sin against God and the regeneration to receiving personal salvation the mourning is often unabated as well as unfruitful debilitating emotion.

  4. A heart after God is something that I have always wanted for myself. What does that mean? Over the years I have come to see it means (for me) a denial of all of me. My very self, all that I was born with in Adam. Me, myself, I the sinner that was birthed, it was and is a continual reckoning that person dead and a continual presenting myself to God as a living sacrifice. That He might do in me and with me that which pleases Him. A heart that would willingly give up all of themselves that the all of Christ would have free rein in the heart and life. Still a work in progress, but if I can have; “all of Him and nothing of me” I will have run my race well. Blessings, Much love in Christ, Not me

  5. I can only say what I would do. If someone did manage to scale a 6 foot fence in my yard, kick in the door to my house and threaten me and my dogs, meaning to kill me, yes I would kill t protect myself and my dogs. Yes. Anyone who would do that means to kill you. I would have no trouble taking care of business.

  6. It goes for anything of God …. He holds no error and for those who claim there are errors in His Word I believe we will be shown there are not by God.... The Scripture is His and the non-resolved areas where we cannot answer for now will be resolved to the glory of God.

  8. Hi Guys It's a cold windy day this morning. The ground is covered in a white blanket of snow. That just said as a side. I have been reading about David, and wondering what it is about David that made him known as a man after God's own heart. Look forward to reading what you share.

  9. 'And the children of Israel .. did according to the word of Moses; .... and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, ...... and jewels of gold, and raiment: And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.' (Exodus 12:35-36) Please Note: The word 'borrowed' is 'asked': there being no obligation attached to this giving. This was the fulfillment of God's words to Moses in Exodus 3:19-22:- 'And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, .. no, not by a mighty hand. And I will stretch out My hand, .. and smite Egypt with all my wonders .... which I will do in the midst thereof: ...... and after that he will let you go. And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: .. and it shall come to pass, .... that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty: But every woman shall borrow (ask) of her neighbour, .. and of her that sojourneth in her house, .... jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: ...... and ye shall put them upon your sons, ........ and upon your daughters; .......... and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.' Praise God! For His promises are sure and He is faithful that promised.

And the people took their dough before it was leavened, .. their kneading troughs being bound up .... in their clothes upon their shoulders.' (Exodus 12:33-34) Praise God!

  11. The prayers on my behalf were answered (that you mentioned) thanks to God and those who prayed. Last night I slept 7 hours straight through. I asked for prayer to get me through the day yesterday with miraculous awakeness since my usual 4 1/2 - 5 hours a night sleep turned out to be maybe 2 hours the previous night (insomnia attack for one who is already an insomniac double whammy). Some of it is chemical imbalance I'm sure. Worries or fears, in my case asthma and allergies combined with my worrisome nature have made for an adult life time of insomnia (at least from my 30's onward... I'm 58 now). BUT... yes I'm getting to the point... ha ha I believe we try to cram too much into our daily lives (schedules, leisure time, etc). We all have 24 hours a day to arrange and prioritize. And we want it all. The family time, the two jobs, the me time, and ironically very little God time... George Washington used to say when asked how he had time to pray four hours a day (2 in the morning 2 at night)... "I don't have time not to pray."

  13. Personally, I do not think that accurately reflects what is going on here. Jesus did not have questions about what He was there for, He knew His mission was to come and die on the cross. I also, do not think there was any form of doubt, Jesus was not lacking in faith, whatever is not of faith, is sin (Rom 14:23). My personal belief, is that Jesus is quoting a Messianic psalm, a prophecy, to point the witnesses and us, to this as a fulfilment. More details in the video I made about that at

  14. I attended the same school for 12 years. There were 46 of us that graduated together and 36 of us started in the first grade..... At the end of our graduation exercises we all got together and as we all realized that many of us might not see each other for a very long time kind of put a sting in the party so to speak. First three reunions 5,10 and 15 years everyone came back from all over the country to see each other... next year we will have our 55th year reunion and it will be interesting to see who all shows up.

  18. @Annette This is such a good question! Thanks for asking it. I've had loved ones who have asked me the same (especially in light of David's adultery with Bathsheba followed by setting her husband up to be killed in battle when she got pregnant with David's child.) The first thing that stands out about David is his faith...In all the land there was not one other person who would rise to the challenge to fight Goliath! "And David said, “The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the LORD be with you!” (1 Samuel 17:37) Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith is very important to God. It is a theme woven throughout the Bible over and over. So David's trust in the Lord was key to their close relationship. David was also a man of worship. He is described as "the sweet psalmist" in 2 Samuel 23:1. All those beautiful songs that are part of our Bible today poured forth from his innermost being. "“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.”Psalms 118:1 This was a reoccurring cry of praise from David. He was a man of zeal who put his all into everything he did. For example: he danced before the Lord with abandon in 2 Samuel 6:14 “And David danced before the LORD with all his might" God said of David that he was one who would fulfil his will. "he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.” Acts 13:22 David must have loved God deeply to have grieved as deeply as he did in the anguished words of Psalm 51. Yes, he fell big but he also repented hard. He could not bear the thought of being separated from God. "Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit." Psalm 51:11-12 I'm sure there are more reasons and I look forward to following this thread and hearing everyone's thoughts.

  19. Bear with me..... 2 Samuel 15:13 says that the hearts of the people were after Absalom. Ezekiel 11:21 says that the people's hearts walked after the heart of their detestable things. Ezekiel 20:16 says that the people's hearts went after their idols and verse 33:31 says their hearts went after their covetousness. When the Bible says "after the heart" of something, it means in pursuit of that thing, in devotion to that thing, housing your "seat of appetites" there. 1 Samuel 13:14 says that God went looking for a man after his own heart. By the unfolding of the story, we can assume is was David. Paul says in Acts 13:22 that God announced that he found David as the man after his own heart who would fulfill his (God's) will. In this we can know it was David. David was devoted, in pursuit of, and housed his seat of appetites in God's heart. Not always.....but in his ultimate pursuit, God's heart was his goal. Some people take David being a man after God's own heart to mean that David was somehow divine or the most Godly man on the planet, someone others cannot match, or someone who didn't make mistakes or was a goody-goody. Not so: King David had multiple wives. Deuteronomy 17:17 said that the kings of Israel were not to do that. It cost him a Godly relationship with not only his wives, but his children. And terrible things happened in his family because David never made his children tow the line. David planned on murder in his heart of innocent men when Nabal insulted him. I know he was tired and was in a mental turmoil in having to deal with Saul, however, that does not excuse his desire to kill every man and boy on Nabal's property. David, in hiding from Saul, made friends with the Philistines. The same Philistines who mocked God when he was a young man and as a young man killed Goliath for it. He and his men and families lived in Ziklag for a year and 4 months. David was in deep despair and depression because of Saul. He and his men raided from nearby Philistine towns to meet their needs. They don't want the Philistines, with whom they are living, to tell what he is doing, so every time he and his men raided a town, they killedeveryone to keep the truth of what they are doing a secret. If some did ask, he would lie and say that he and his men had raided towns in Judah - from his own people. Murder, lies, coverups. Some wonder how David could take Bathsheba knowing that she was another man's wife. Some wonder how he could kill Uriah to cover it up. These people haven't read 1 Samuel 27-30. In fact, 2 Samuel 12 - 24 gives the account of David's suffering for his sins. David purposely takes a census of his fighting men. Some that is a clear violation of God's law. It was so offensive that even JOAB was disgusting by it and refused to count all of the tribes. HOWEVER...….. What proves that David is a man after God's own heart - pursuing God's heart, devoted to it is the fact that David REPENTS of his sins and as far as we know doesn't commit that same sin after he repents. Psalm 51 and quite possibly 33 is David's wonderful song of repentance and is THE example of how we should repent before God. When David was murdering and raiding, King Saul was also in deep despair because God rejected him as King. David turns to God. King Saul turns to a witch. King Saul dies. David lives. When David counted the people, God gave him three choices of a punishment. David chose sending a plague to the people have thousands of them die brutal deaths. David was grieved over that choice and begged God to transfer the plague to him and his family. God refused, but God also was not happy in the destruction of the wicked. God told his death angel, "ENOUGH!" David loved God's word, his precepts, and laws. Thank GOD that my sins are not listed in the Bible. What about you? What if, like King David, our lives - the good, the bad, and the ugly - was in PRINT for the world and for eons of generations to see. I'd crawl in a hole and wish to die. David sinned and sinned terribly, as we do. But David always returned to God and his heart. His pursuit was to be holy as God is holy.

  20. it's kind of hard to put into words for it is something for me that took a bit of time to get a grip on.... it's more an experience than knowing what to do.... For instance many years ago I wanted to make a change in my career... I was a successful Television studio director and pretty successful at that, but it didn't really pay well. I tried to make a move and it failed miserably... I thought I had a job at North American Rockwell installing electronics in air planes.... all worked out well leaving the tv station but the weekend it was final, they fired the plant manager at the plant I was supposed to work at and all of a sudden that job was no longer available.... they let me work on the line drilling holes and shooting rivets but that is a real nowhere job.... It took about six months but God worked out for me to go to work for Xerox Corp and that turned into a 38 year career and a very good retirement.... But the only reason I got the Job was that the Lord did things to make it happen.... things outside my power to affect... That is just an example.... all the day long I take things to him and discuss with him in my mind as to how to accomplish things or walk away. I've actually had him repair equipment that I was having trouble finding the problems over the years.... sometimes pointing thigs out to me and sometimes the things just started working for no reason at all....

  21. Exodus 12:29-30 New King James Version (NKJV) The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn 29 And it came to pass at midnight that the Lord struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was [a]in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock. 30 So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

  22. It's not in the canon, should it be, maybe. Was it read and studied during Lords first advent, I think so. Should it be read and studied today, I think so, I have read it many times. Some things in it, I think are not correct but a lot can be learned from it.

  23. My parents moved a few times when I was young before I could remember much. We moved once between states about halfway through first grade. I cannot recall much about it so it must not have been too traumatic. I was then in the same rural school district until I graduated HS. Overall, I was heavily involved in activities, however, I really didn't like the social dynamics in school from about 6th grade on. I'd have probably done better home schooling or unschooling with access to various activities but that really didn't exist much in that era. I didn't fit into any of the social groups but got along reasonably well with most people. I wasn't a loner but really didn't have any close friends I spent much time with. Went to a state university (where I met and married my wife who also graduated from there). Went to grad school at a state university in another state. Worked there for a few years after graduation. Moved back to a small town and worked at one company for about 20 years which was a roller coaster. The main reason I stayed so long was it was a 10 minute walk to work and I had flex time opportunities for family stuff. Worked at a non-profit for a year or so. Quit due to high stress. Decided to move to a new town for family reasons after 20 years in that town. Kids were grown and had moved out. I've been unemployed/semi-retired since then living off savings and a few consulting jobs. Now working on writing and creating material for a consulting business in the education and training arena.

  24. 1 Peter 2:3–9 (AV) 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

  25. Hi Kwik; I finally did not send the video, because I thought they would not understand it. I send it to someone in desperate need of finding Gods Grace and they responded by saying that these are conspiracy theories, so from there I just figured that most people who don't understand biblical end times, will not understand this video either. For now I am keeping my friend and her family in prayer, and will be there for her whenever she needs me. Her parents knew my parents before I was born, they stood by us while my father passed and then many years later my mom, our families have remained good friends all these years. And so will keep praying for them as I do with my own brother and relatives.= Quietly. lol.

  26. It was part of Obama's curriculum that those things should be taught as early as kindergarten as to what constitutes a family. The universities are teaching it and now they have put out teachers and are teaching the junk to our children. My grandchildren are in high school or above now, but when in grade school their grades were penalized for taking a godly stand, and they received bulling from other children because of it. When mom talked to the teachers about it she received a lot of hostility. This was in small town rural America.

  28. The Lord tells us to Occupy till He returns -- and be a light in the darkness presenting the truth of His Word! In our republic, we have the opportunity to vote and we should make our vote be heard, however with that being said, we MUST realize that our true kingdom is not of this world! However, if you truly want to see a national transformation -- focus on a true revival -- as with a revival based on repentance, will lead to a radical transformation in all spheres of life -- including the government!

  30. I am not convinced that the U.S. will be much of anything during the 70th week / 7 years. All it takes is a couple of high air burst nukes and almost the entire electric grid will be fried. All computers, cars, cell phones, etc will be just piles of inoperative junk. Since there is no real solid allusion in scripture to what could be considered the U.S., I doubt that we will be even a blip on the radar in the final days. It can be fun to speculate and try and fit things together, but more than likely we all are wrong on most of this stuff. I really don't spend much time if any on where does America fit in the end times. The whole world is collapsing anyway. I am somewhat convinced that folks who waste and inordinate amount of time trying to fit the U.S. into the end time scenario have an overinflated view of America. I hate to burst their bubble, but the U.S. is not the focus of the end time and probably will be totally sidelined and inconsequential. I love America. I stepped up and paid my dues in the military for America. But I also have a solid perspective on my kingdoms, and the one I am most concerned with is not on this planet at this time and won't be till Yeshua takes the reigns and establishes it. America is going down just like all the others.
