  1. Shalom Mystic, Great question. I think the life of the Christian should be filled with shalom and joy, despite the circumstances. Now, if you have shalom that doesn't mean you cannot suffer persecution and unfair treatment. You can feel like all is against you but the shalom inside should not be uprooted by such things. Being filled with joy doesn't mean you are always happy. In fact, happiness is slightly different to joy. You can be sad, cry with others and even have periods of stressed out emotions but the joy inside should not be entirely snuffed out. I think that if you can always Praise Yahweh, in every situation (sickness and health, poverty and wealth) then you are living as a Christian. If you want to help your brothers and sisters and feel genuine love towards them, then you are living as a Christian. It you want to follow the heart intention of the Scriptures and Torah, then you are living as a Christian. When I read the letters of the apostles I feel that attitude glowing from them in abundance. Love & Shalom

  3. Christians come from all walks of life. Believe me, we also have our periods where we're not happy with God or feel like we're not hearing from God. But after earnest prayer and seeking we do hear eventually. There's often something to be learned in the waiting.

  4. With tomorrow being the 14th, I want to start off by saying "Happy Valentine's Day, Worthy family!! I love you all." But no valentine can come close to the one that God gave to us. It is expressed beautifully in the following scriptures: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

  5. Hi mabel, Good morning/evening, Now I would say to be `Spirit filled,` is an ongoing receiving of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We desire and then just receive with a grateful heart and continue day by day to walk with the Lord by His Holy Spirit. A key, I believe is to `receive,` continually in our lives. Marilyn.

  6. Hi Thomas! I didn't back it up because it wasn't the point of my thread. Actually the very point of my thread is quite evident in your response to my thread. I spent a great deal of time articulating why the evidential debate is usually a waste of time. If you are an unbeliever, I'm not interested in that debate because you cannot account for the preconditions of intelligibility so an evolutionary debate is pointless. If you are a brother in Christ, I'm not interested in the debate because you are free to believe as you wish. It makes no difference to me if you think God guided some kind of evolutionary process, as long as you understand and have faith in what Jesus Christ did for you.

  7. In regards to Mark 16:9-20, those verses contain no teaching of significance that is not taught elsewhere. For example, Christ’s post-resurrection appearance to Mary is verified in Luke 8:2 and John 20:1-18. In regards to John 7:53 - 8:11, even if you doubt the authenticity of this story, no important Biblical doctrine is placed in doubt because of it. Look, I'm not interested in going through an entire critique of the Word. There are, quite literally, thousands of resources debating the topic back and forth. The real question is whether or not we accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God. I do and I would struggle with the idea of anyone claiming to be a Christian while refusing to accept the Word of God as just that. I see no worldview issues presented here other than ones ability/inability to rest in the Truth of the Bible and its message to those who choose to follow Jesus Christ. The point of this thread was to show that without the Biblical God, there is no foundation for the laws of logic, uniformity in nature and absolute morality. No amount of fanegaling this translation vs that translation will change that.

  8. The Lampstand -Exodus 25 31 “Make a lampstand of pure gold. Hammer out its base and shaft, and make its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms of one piece with them. 32 Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other. 33 Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand." 9. 'Thou shalt also make a table of shittim wood: two cubits shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, and make thereto a crown of gold round about. And thou shalt make unto it a border of an hand breadth round about, and thou shalt make a golden crown to the border thereof round about. And thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof. Over against the border shall the rings be for places of the staves to bear the table. And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be borne with them. And thou shalt make the dishes thereof, and spoons thereof, and covers thereof, and bowls thereof, to cover withal: of pure gold shalt thou make them. And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway.' (Exodus 25:23-30) Praise God!

  12. We each are set free according to our unique understanding. For me it is Rom. 8:1 and 8:5 Rom 8:1 NKJV There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Rom 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. When we walk in the Spirit we set our minds on Jesus and His love for those we encounter. It is Christ in us Who reaches out to meet the needs we see. Our focus is on Christ and his working through us. When we focus on what we should not do we end up doing the things we don't want to do. When we look at Jesus and the things His love directs us toward, we do the things we should do.

  13. Matthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. There will always be those with what seems the perfect life, they have their trials. But perhaps your trial is the Father not giving you those things, and him watching to see if you stay faithful to him. I can not speak of them, I can not speak for you, I can hardly even speak for myself because I do not take weekend drives to Heaven to speak directly to the Father either. The thing to remember is that we are all strangers in this life, passing through quickly heading for our real home in Heaven. Like Jesus said; make sure you are good with the Father today, let tomorrow worry about tomorrow. I can only suggest you judge your ways; if you are doing your best to obey the law, repenting for your sins, being thankful for what the Father has given you, doing works for him, and asking for his guidance to be the best Christian you can be then you are probably on the right path. That is why envy is one of the biggest sins, because the Father knows if we compare ourselves to each other in envious ways, we will never feel good about ourselves and satan can sneak in to pull us off our path. Feel good about being you, the Father will take care of the rest. Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

  14. Instead of thinking of it like a deep, dark place, maybe... Think of it like the wilderness that Moses led the Israelites through on their way to the promised land. They were a stiffnecked people, casting that golden calf and Korah's rebellion. Even Moses and Aaron, for not following God's instruction exactly, were not permitted to cross the Jordan. This period, from Egypt to Israel, was a time of transition. Even then, once Israel was settled, it wasn't like everything was perfect. The land went through it's ups and downs. I guess what i'm trying to say is that, nobody on this Earth is perfect. They may seem like it, but it is not so. Many folks are concerned about how they "appear" to others, thinking that by looking perfect, it may convert others as well. I'm certainly not perfect; i've had my eyes wander and my tongue lash out far too many times to claim as much. Rather than look at these youtubers or even me, you need to look at yourself. As for the reading, I wouldn't fret. When I read through the Bible the first time, it felt rather uneventful. Not completely so, of course, but there was a lot of "oh boy, now we count the tribes of Israel again, yadda yadda..." and "yet another city prophesied against, and then another city prophesied against..." Especially the OT, it felt much like a historical record rather than something to pay too much mind to. The second time reading it, though, I picked up on many more things. If I had to recommend a few verses to think about, then this: Mark 2:17 On hearing this, Jesus told them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Matthew 13:31-32 He set another man before him, saying, "The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, that a man took, and sowed in his field, which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in it's branches."

  15. And God saw that it was good. Then God said, "Let Us make man in our image, in Uur likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground" Gen 1:26 Genesis 1:28-29 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” 29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. Genesis 2:23-24 23 The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” 24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Matthew 19:3-6 New International Version 3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?” 4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Mark 10:6-9 6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, 8 and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Ephesians 5:28-32 28 In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, 30 because we are members of his body.31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. Genesis 1:28, "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

  16. As I've stated before I just feel like I'm in a deep shadowy dark place , Like I feel I'm behind God while others walk beside him. I know , that God cares for me a little bit because he has helped me with some things in my life. But I don't hear God, experience His leadings, I have no clue what conviction feels like... Nothing I read in the Bible feels like it speaks to me or resonates with me personally. I feel a bit depressed I'm not like other Christians who freely trust God and are happy and you can see God shinning through them. As I'm typing this I'm close to crying because its so hard. I watch some Christian youtubers and wonder, why can't I be like that? One I watch has every blessing imaginable, well they both do. Both walk close to God, they hear him, feel him, sense his guidance. They have beautiful homes, Godly husbands and healthy children--theyre living in Gods blessings.. and before anyone objects or questions. Ive been saved since 2010 and ive been baptized with water and his spirit so this is definitely the end of the road for me.... and it saddens me. It makes me wonder like, why is it that it seems theres only one type of life that serves as this cookie cutter guidline to what being spirit filled and led Christian is like? Meaning, you always hear God, there no silent dry periods--you're always successful in everything you do,have children that are healthy and just a perfect life in general. Why can't someone single struggling with poverty, no kids be an example as well? Because I lack those spiritual and material things and it makes me feel like something is wrong or missing idk. I feel this book really speaks to me, its called blessed are the misfits by Brent Hansen, I haven't read it yet but I definitely know its for me. Its about Christians who struggle with doubt, trust who don't fit in with the spiritual world as a typical Christian... and that's me just odd. I don't fit in spiritually or in the natural world. I just feel like I'm in limbo...just invisible to both parties. The best way I can describe my relationship with God is just numb, silent and dark no matter how hard I try -- sort of how mother Teresa describes her's when God just kind of removed himself from her. (Not saying I'm anything like her at all. I'm not I could never match her in devotion or faith so please don't assume that..Im just describing that lonely feeling) I just feel alone spiritually and physically dealing with one or the other is manageable but dealing with both is pretty hellish. I just wish I a Christian model that was like me , not the typical Christian..but someone who didn't have morning coffee with God , struggled to hear him, was in their late 20's or 30's still single, just doesn't have it all together but still was devoted to God and despite not being married, having children or friends or hearing God well..... just knew God was with them and for them and they were in Gods will. I really don't know if such people exist. I know some do in the bible...like the poor beggar. I know in todays world someone would look at him and see his issues and the fact it never got better but he died in it and would probably deem him cursed... but I just wonder why someone who holds up in the face of a constant or never ending storm can't be the face, or one of the faces of what Christianity looks like. Why is it always perfect people with perfect faith, that have both spiritual and material blessings? idk ...idk where I fit. But I do know despite how I feel ll try to watch another chirtian video that addresses my feelings and well help me like it did last night. idk I just hope there's hope for misfits like myself. It seems some people enjoy both spiritual and material blessings here on this plane while some may have to wait untl the after life to enjoy them like that beggar. For me personally, I'm working on giving up things that I deeply desired such as a significant other , friends, an art career, a decent home as one, those things are material and they've been an incredible stumbling block that would make me angry towards God... so idk maybe its best to give those things up. I just don't think I'm meant to have an enthralling life... maybe I'm supposed to live humble pay check to pay check..i really don't know... I also don't know if God is calling me to singleness, I hve a deep strong desire to marry but our desires aren't always his will and despite the desire it can just never pan out it happens. but based on my life.. even though I despise singlness and don't want it I feel perhaps he's calling me towards it because I'm always alone. idk sorry this is just me getting a lot of things off my chest and out of my mind.

  17. it's good you can laugh at yourself for the things we have done... My daughter and son in law went through his class in their church several years ago and it has helped them... my son was kind of like me in that he learned very early to stay out of debt.... he's single and playing the car game right now..... he told me a couple of months ago he bought a nearly new Porch 911... seems they let him have an interest free loan for it.... says it didn't make sense to take money out of a interest baring savings account just to pay it off.... smart kid. He'll pay his house off early I'm sure. He wants to be financially able to completely retire at 55 (in 15 years)... I doubt he will quit working but that is his goal. When he sees what Medical insurance costs when he looses his company insurance I doubt he'll want to quit... Kept me going till I was 63... they changed our retirement program and I was kind of forced to retire or loose a good chunk of monthly income.

  18. debit cards are dangerous at most banks..... if my discover card is used by someone else, discover covers the loss and it is not out of my finances..... debit cards are different. If someone manages to get into that, the bank says you are responsible for the safety of the card and they will not cover the loss. I do have one for my checking account but never use it.

  31. I have been reproved for speaking too forcefully many times. It puts me in a difficult position. If I am putting forth a theory or making a guess as to the meaning of something, it is easy to say 'Perhaps it means this:" But if the Lord is inspiring me to speak up I tend to do it with authority and joy or enthusiasm. So it comes across with some boldness.. I can't truthfully say it is my own thought or doing and fumble with my words with uncertainty. Neither am I dogmatic about the interpretation I shared but feel that others may be revealing a different aspect or from a different perspective. Perhaps there is as much fault on the part of the hearer in being closed to new thoughts and to not prayerfully search the scriptures to see of these things are true. Sometimes it is the hearers that are arrogant about their own ideas and quick to judge others. Act 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness. Eph 6:18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, Eph 6:19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, Eph 6:20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

Are you trying to build bigger barns for all you rewards, you cannot even guarantee what you will be doing a week from now, let alone a year from now. Wow, you may even die, like many have already died and still miss-out on the GT. What benefit is the GT to those who have died before us. Did they loose some rewards. 33. I think it could be answered much more simply: God's purpose in the 70th week of Daniel's is to totally shatter the power of Jacob's descendants until their IDF is gone, and their ONLY hope is God. In other words, to bring to to a place of complete hopelessness UNLESS God moves. On the other hand, the purpose of the Day of the Lord is to destroy the world and the sinners in the world. Strange, but the 70th week is found INSIDE the Day of the Lord.

  34. If you are insinuating that laws of logic aren't universal, that's simply not true. To be true, you will need to demonstrate where I can find a place that laws of logic aren't true. For example, where can I find the land of contradictions (which would violate the law of non-contradiction)? Now, while I'm not interested, necessarily, in debating this point, language is universal. What I mean by that is, "two" means the same thing no matter what dialect I use to express it. Also, there is a universal "thing" that exists independently of us. If I draw a 2 on a dry erase board, we would agree that is 2. If I erase that 2, it dissapears from the universe. That's because that wasn't THE 2, it was the numeral 2 which is a representation of the concept of 2ness. A universal "thing." Our perception of color can be different from person to person, this concept has no relation to the laws of logic which don't change and are universal. If laws of logic were only our brains perception of the world, then they wouldn't be universal. They wouldn't extend beyond our own minds. My laws of logic might be entirely different than yours, but this is not the case. No where in the world can my car be in the garage and not in the garage at the same time, despite what my brain might think. Perhaps, you might have confused the laws of logic concept with the idea of thinking logically. We certainly don't always think logically! These are different concepts. That actually brings up another point I mentioned in my thread on laws of logic. If they are nothing more than descriptions of how our brain thinks, why would we need them to correct the way our brain thinks? We would never actually violate them because, simply, our mind thinks the way it thinks. You'd still be stuck trying to explain where those universal laws, that seems to operate independently of our non logical thoughts, come from. If you're thinking at this point that we just use them because they work... That's not actually an answer to the question. You would still need to explain why they work, why they are universal and where they came from, without God.

  35. The first thing to realize is that the false prophet (beast from the earth [Rev 13:11]) is the only human of the evil trio (dragon, beast, false prophet). Its a common assumption that the beast is a human but there is no record in scripture that I can find where a human has ever been cast into, or let out of, the abyss. Revelation 17:8 plainly states that the beast comes up out of the abyss. There was given to him [the beast] a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him. Revelation 13:5 If the beast were a human, he would not need to be given a "mouth" since he would already have one. This mouth that was given to the beast is the false prophet, aka the man of sin or son of perdition, and is the same as the horn in Daniel 7 that wages war against the saints for forty-two months. Similarly, the horn in Daniel 7 is described as having eyes and a mouth to indicate that he is a human and not a spirit being. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. Revelation 13:8 This verse is a reference to the false prophet (the beast's mouth) being worshiped. Of course, the beast, and the dragon are also worshiped by proxy since they are the true source of the false prophet's power.

Hi, I want to start off by encouraging you, ...have hope, there always is hope..., I went 13 years all alone, without anyone like minded, a born again child of God to talk too, but God is faithful and I always knew He was there with me, ...how did I know, because His Word promises He would never leave me or forsake me, even in those lonely times He was there, how did I know He was there, from reading His Word, may I humbly suggest you start in Genesis 1 and read through to Revelation 22, and when you have finished, ...read through again and again and again, He is our Best Friend and He is Always there waiting for us, all we have to do is open the Book and start reading, ...it's okay if you don't understand what you are reading, just faithfully read, the more of His Word you have in you the more He can speak to you and the more you will start to understand, ...look at what the writer of Hebrews has recorded for us: God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Heb 1:1, 2 Do you see what that is saying precious one, ...every time you read the Word, Jesus is speaking to you, you personally, ...meditate on that, the Creator of the Universe is waiting to talk to you and be the Best Friend you are looking for! Lord bless

I feel whats happening is that I'm starting to not want God I see it happening but I feel I cant do anything about it. I don't know how to make myself desire, want or love God. I say that , because GOD don't change. When folks do not want God n their conscious , no reminder of Him , romans one says what happens , He gives them over to this mind . WELL , we got a roman one level reprobation , ON THE WORLD . SO its a world wide judgment that is on the way . Let us quickly remember these words too . And in the latter times of their kingdoms, WHEN the transgressors have come to the FULL THEN STANDS ANTI CHRIST . Whom our LORD will destroy at HIS COMING . But we are nigh the climatic end of the battle , and even now the dark spirits are fast at work creating an all inclusive one world one mindset all accepting religion ,FROM WHICH THE BEAST SHALL RISE . These are the LAST of the last of the last of days . And the lie , the delusion , it don't care what religion you are or non religious , ITS SUCKING ALL UP into its web . ALL BUT THE TRUE LAMBS . But they the ones this beast shall turn full force against .

  42. We raise a child up in they way he or she should go . I can offer frienduffs health class One o One if we need those reminders . Its real simple . GOD made you as you are . If you born with male parts you grow up to become a man . If you born with female parts you grow up to be a woman . When you are grown a man marries a woman or remains single according to his call. Same with a woman , she marries a man or remains single according to her call . Now how simple is that . Oh and no fornication . Marriage only . For purpose of marriage please refer to the above said statement of frienduffs BC health class . Biblically correct health class. IN the end we stand before GOD , not men , not govts , not trends . GOD . Thus let it be said , it is written we shall not live by bread alone , but by every Word of GOD . By the power of HIS SPIRIT given us IN CHRIST . Know and understand this message will not be politcallly accepted . BUT IT IS BIBLCALLY CORRECT . And we KNOW OUR LORD .

  43. How would we handle it when we have a child who tells us that they feel like the other gender and wants to have a transgender operation? I'm sure this question will come up for lots of parents..

  44. I believe our focus should be on quietly cultivating godliness, not becoming entangled in worldly affairs apart from discerning the evil of them and witnessing the goodness of God in Christ to the lost. Act 19:36 Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, you ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly. 1Th 4:11 And that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 1Ti 2:1-4 (1) I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; (2) For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (3) For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; (4) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 1Pe 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

  45. The Cross and the Resurrection are what saves and sanctifies a believer, not the workds. If you have the Cross of Christ right in your life, then you will automatically do good works and avoid evil works. The focus of the dream seems to be the Cross of Christ, and this bodes well, as Paul taught in Romans 6, 7 and 8. You would do well to read this passage of scripture. Jesus left your side in the dream, but he is still present with you through the Holy Spirit, which is in Christ...."for the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death."

  47. Do not wonder for that which you do not know. Rest your feet on that which you do know - the street. Although it will be difficult. This is a journey only you can walk and no one else. The crosses are your destination. Follow the light. He left so that you may learn of yourself. And when you do you will "awake" to the reality of the experience.
