  1. God loves you so much He sent Jesus to die for your sins, your failures, your imperfections. He died in your place, for you, so that you can know God is your loving caring Father. 1Co 1:25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1Co 1:26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 1Co 1:27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 1Co 1:28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 1Co 1:29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. Join the club. Ask God to come into your life to be your Savior and the Lord over you. It is only when we know we are nothing that we can come to God and give ourselves to Him. He has a purpose for you and has planned good works that you should walk in them. You do need to make that choice to want Him to direct your paths.
  2. In recent years I have devoted myself to knowing God for there is nothing greater than knowing him and being known by him. Most of my life has been spent knowing about God, but knowing about him is not the same as knowing him. My desire has not been rooted in pride or arrogance, but in a sincere desire to know the Lord God and his beloved Son as much as can be humanly possible. What man can truly know God for all that we see are only glimpses of how great He is? My quest has not been rooted in knowledge for how can I know God? I pondered about what can I truly know about God, what can I understand with all that I am, and the answer was simple yet profound. My quest to know God has been rooted in love, for God is love, and it is in love and through love that we can know him in many wondrous ways. I yearn and I long to be broken so that I might be filled. Brokenness requires surrender, trust, and acceptance, but it begins with awareness and acknowledgement of who He is and of who I am. With acceptance and surrender we move deeper into the place of awareness, and awareness increases understanding which grows to a place where we know and in knowing we shall be known. Brokenness comes before holiness and holiness comes before fullness and power. My heart desires to know the Lord and to be filled by his presence but first I must be surrendered and broken before him. Psalm 51 was written by a man with a broken heart, but also by a man with a heart that loved God and deeply desired to know him, and that Psalm is one I read often as I seek to be united in heart. A life well lived is a life spent in knowing God. I believe that statement and I know many if not all in this forum believe the same. Have a blessed day.
  3. The devil can give a false sense of security and he can also give a tormenting doubt and really do a number on you. So, what do we do? [1] Do not rely at all on your "feelings" about your assurance. You said you "feel" your salvation is phoney. Rely instead on what you know to be true - a time you can look back on with confidence where you made a decision to trust Christ. [2] Ask yourself if a lack of prayer and Bible reading are contributing to these feelings of doubt. That happens all the time. Christians quit reading the Bible, quit praying, and quit seeking God and all of a sudden they are in a rut of doubt that plagues them. [3] Go to God with this and tell him what's happening in your heart.
  4. I pray to the Lord, and end with "in the name of Jesus". I know the Holy Spirit intercedes in our prayers (Romans 8:26) so all 3 are involved anyway. How one does it is up to them and the Lord. Dont make prayer too complicated or overthink it. Just pray. Just talk to the Lord. Take everything to Him in prayer, with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6-7).
  5. I guess Save a lot needs to change its name to , Save a lot LESS.
  6. I have been used to driving many miles to get to a store with a reasonable selection for many decades. Lived in the interior of Alaska for 10 years and live now in a rural farming area of Iowa. It takes a lot of money to keep a brick and mortar store open. People have to be paid and light bills have to be paid. Property taxes and other fees also. If the volume of customers is not adequate to reach a profit margin, then the business has no choice but to close the doors. I charge almost $2 a mile to deliver product to food store warehouses. And some of that product has to travel 1000 miles or more to get to that warehouse. That warehouse has employees to pay, light bills, and property taxes. It then has to be distributed to the stores by their own fleet of trucks. Someone has to pay for all that. It is all basic economics.
  7. Mary was blessed and gave birth to Jesus Christ. Mary was a sinner just like you and me. Mary and Joseph had other children after Jesus was born. We are never to worship Mary or pray to her.
  8. Yes, obviously Jesus avoids venerating His mother the way the RCC does.
  9. i would recommend to forget any religion. just seek God. religion can not help you... God can. religion can not save you... God can. God does not desire religion... but our heart.
  10. "If you love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul, NO MATTER WHAT NAME YOU GIVE HIM, and love your neighbor as yourself, on what grounds will you be condemned? " Jhn 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
  11. Amen thank you both for the encouragement :) I feel like I shouldn't give up :)
  12. Hi again and thanks for the prayers. I took her to the vet today and it turned out to be a urinary tract infection rather than anything immediately life threatening. To add a little to this, I've been planning for a while to get a male Bengal (my cat is a female Bengal) for her. The nurse we got today has a friend who breeds Bengals and told me she'd talk to her friend to see if we could work something out. Here's hoping!
  13. Self stinks; I was at work today and I was before the Lord as much as I knew. Someone said something that I perceived to be rude, so I bit back at him. Was not love, was not righteousness or being a peace maker, in other words it was not Christ. Got my eyes off Christ, lost my peace to a degree. But sense (in my opinion it wasnt real bad) I rolled with it. About 10 mins later someone else asked me to do something (that wasn’t my boss,) which I thought to be stupid, so I blatantly said no way, very unkindly. Instantly got convicted. But I was mad and acting out of self, (again). This time in and on a whole different level. Lost my peace in a big way. Looked at my work from where I was standing and it looked just fine, (actually pretty good). Stood my ground. He gets upset wants to take it to the office. I think maybe I should look at things from where he was standing. I did, he was right. Told him I would fix things. My flesh was up in arms, but I did it. Afterwards, knowning that the Lord was telling me to drop it. I refused. Lost my peace even more. Went over to him very sarcastically and asked him if this was ok by him. It was. But my heart was telling me why wasn’t I obedient to what God was telling my innermost being. Answer; pride and wanting things my own way. Took about 30 mins for my peace to return as I worked to reckon myself dead and get back on the cross where I belong. If I had just listened when I lost my peace, even that little bit, when it started, I could have avoided this hour-ish of struggling with my fallen nature. Knowning that these are my natural responses of me acting out of self. Death to me is the only cure. Moral of the story; God is good, I (self) am in unloving selfish person who’s only hope is in Christ, to form Himself in me, or I am stuck acting like this sinner person. But God is good, faithful and loving. Always ready to forgive, when the heart is ready to ask. He magnifies His love toward us, such a Great and Awesome God we have. Bless His name for giving us such a great salvation. Which is Christ living His live in and through us. Thank Him so very much, for taking me to the cross with Him to get rid of me. So that I might be a new creation, for I am so sick of me. Blessings Much love in Christ, Not me
  14. ok is it true that the Enemy can give you a false sense of Salvation??? I feel like my Salvation has been phoney all along & that I've never trusted Jesus & accepted him into my heart as my personal Lord & Savior :( I want to just quit & give up but the truth is I don't want to give up

My friend told me about this site today so I thought I’d try it out. I’ll probably read more than I write, just my way. I appreciate people sharing their thoughts and knowledge. Some of us have more trouble expressing ourselves.
  16. Act 7:59 And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Act 7:60 And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
  17. I don't like the thought of eating Jesus's body or blood like you said it's in rembering Jesus not eating him I think you are right ...i will not go to the Catholic church at all
  18. Hello there, I have been very aware as I have entered each post, and read those of others, of the significance each part of the tabernacle must have. Some are obvious, but all must have a part to play, a glimpse to give of the Lord Jesus Christ, I just haven't made a study of it, to be sure enough to make comment. The mercy seat being not only overlaid with gold, but made entirely of pure gold is significant. I believe, 'And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.' (Exodus 25:17) Praise God!
  19. Have you read in the OT about Elijah raising a child from the dead with the power of God? And Jesus resurrected Lazarus, and Jairius' daughter, and a young man the only son of a widow. I think when Jesus Christ was born on earth, He brought the divine power of life with him. The power of the resurrection was already with him. He died on the cross as an act of sacrifice to pay for our sins. I have read that part of Matthew about the resurrection of the OT saints. Perhaps the Lord wanted to use them to spread the gospel. I honestly don't know. When I am in heaven I look forward to sitting at Jesus' feet and learning from Him all the things of the Bible I do not understand.
  20. The 1st resurrection of Rev 20 isn't specific as to timing, only the facts of the event. The 2nd resurrection is specific concerning timing. One cannot say the 1st is before or after any other event from the facts contained in Rev 20 or 1 Thess 4. Matt 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 give us the timing; after the tribulation of those days, those days are cut short, when we see the sign of the coming of the Son of man, when Jerusalem is compassed by armies, etc. One also cannot equate tribulation with the whole 7 years. To paraphrase, Jesus says in Matt 24, "When you see the A of D...then shall be great tribulation.", and before this the time is called "beginning of sorrows". There is no '7 years of tribulation' specific to the end of the age and the sign of His coming. The whole 'U-turn' argument is specious. Are you saying it's an impossible scenario that we are gathered to meet Jesus in the clouds of the air and instead of going to heaven we stay on earth? Maybe we a caught up to meet Jesus and wait there for a short time as He destroys his enemies. And if we are in heaven right after we meet Him in the clouds of the air, there is nothing saying we stay in heaven for any length of time, other than doctrinal beliefs that is. The 'U-turn' argument creates false facts and then ridicules the result, it is not a sound logical position.
  21. Please, for your own sake.....find a Bible than you can easily understand. You do not have to read it all.....Read the first ten chapters of Romans and the short Book of Galations....thanks to the cult you are in, you are in the dark.....if you do not read the Bible , you are apt to follow anything that anybody says....the doctrines of the Catholic cult will damn you if you believe them.....be one that gets saved despite their ignorance and wickedness......trust only Jesus, not your Priest .
  22. That is what I have wanted for decades. A green burial. Let me decompose as I should. Non of that nasty embalming chemicals in me. For the original post ... The God who created the universe is well able to resurrect us no matter what physical condition the body is in. Cremation with scattered ashes, burial at sea, or stuck in the fanciest casket. If how we are buried were important, then the bible would have mentioned it. However if your dad is specific about his burial/cremation plans, he really should have it in writing.
  23. Fellowship with others is bringing glory to God. It is telling others how they can be saved. They then have a choice to come to Christ. Their mind has digested the words.
  24. Our faith is based on Scripture, not on our feelings. Memorize salvation Scriptures. If there is some area that you fall short you need to ask God to help you correct it. For instance, perhaps you received Christ as your Savior and accepted that He died for your sin, but you have never surrendered to Jesus as Lord and Master of your life. You just need to ask God to help you humble yourself to be obedient to His Spirit. Tell Him you want Him to lead and direct your paths, not your selfishness or satan. Rom 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Have you been baptized? Sometimes obeying God in doing that will reassure you of all God has done for you. God wants to be close to you even more than you want to be close to Him. Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. J Jas 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
  25. We opted for cremation mostly due to the expense. A memorial was held at our church. Tell the sisters to look into the cost of each choice and if they want burial and a service at the funeral parlor and/or grave side they should make the arrangements and start prepaying it now.
  26. Hi, Sorry you feel short changed to date. But how about today? And for eternity forward? Why not consider thinking, saying and asking - well thank you Lord Jesus. Thank You Holy Spirit. Thank You Father. For I am now made aware, and also enabled by You to start this instant to turn about from whatever source of doubt and perhaps deceit I have been living under, leaving it behind to be born again with You Holy Spirit indwelling me and revealing Lord Jesus the way to You Father God. I give my praise, I ask in the name of my Lord Jesus dear Holy Spirit be with me and guide me, lead me to the word that frees me and directs my spirit and edifies my soul. I rejoice in this time!
  27. Praying and so glad your cat will be ok

    Praying for you both sister!
  29. i dont tend to read long posts these days!!!
  30. Hi, Do not let the issue trouble you even one day. I counseled more families, literally into the tens of hundreds, kept arguing siblings apart from each other, even watched dueling Lincolns in the parking lot, and had one family try to settle it with a 1911 45 caliber semi automatic. I even had the cremated remains sit in a bronze urn at my desk for over a year while sisters fought a legal battle over the inscription for mom. They actually called me daily for a year over the issue. Even I had the inscription I wanted to put on it by the end of that one. It can get more than silly it can get quite dangerous. If there is serious discussion/arguing now figure it will get really ugly at his death. Have one say now an d then just let it go now, and let the dead bury the dead so to speak. Never let the dead control from the grave is the motto to lve by. If dad choses to do nothing to both preplan and to prepay plus set aside funding in full and he dies, his wishes are of no value. Let no one dictate your wallet and let no one's dereliction of personal duty, and responsibility, become your responsibility. BTW- A will is not a place to put funeral instructions. Are you really going to wait around for a will to be read and enforced if there is conflict? To be blunt, written instructions, and presigned irrevocable prepaid funeral plan arrangements are the way he needs to go. Or it is a set up for a time of long lasting angst between syblings. A needless angst- have one say now from you, declare it done as far as you are concerned and never revisit it again, for if you do it will become a thing that is not "nice" and a bad testimony of our Lord as well as others see the arguing unfolding on and on. Plus: as a side note, in the USA though State regulations vary, one does not have to be embalmed and one does not have to be cremated either. Within limits of public health and safety you can do pretty much what you want. Want to be buried unembalmed and facing east without a casket and have it done before sunrise, well it is difficult to get it done, but it can be done. About the only option I didn't make arrangement for over the years was for freeze drying.
  31. Jesus is God. I assume you meant God the Father? Jesus, Father and Holy Spirit constitute the Holy Trinity. Jesus is God. They all are equal. I see nothing wrong to praying to either of them. Praying to Jesus or Holy Spirit is also praying to God. Because Jesus and Holy Spirit are God.
  32. Shalom Ella, What a storm you are going through at the moment... Please know that no operation will bring you peace and neither will no church. A personal relationship with Jesus is the only way. The catholic churches have a tendency to focus on Mary instead and other saints. Their teachings do not really match with the Bible in this regard. As for this "liberal" church, I can't speak about it, knowing nothing. Although I wonder what type of place it is if your husband feels that you disguised as a male would be appropriate. But there is no church system or building you need to attend or be a part of to be saved or to communicate with God. Don't rush to these places of Sunday or Saturday for refuge - they're simply brick and mortar with a few people inside, that's all. It's not a temple or place to meet with God. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth. ~ John 4:23-24 Getting your heart right with God should be paramount before deciding on such matters of catholic or liberal church and this or that gender. No one knows you more than the Father. Not your husband and not even yourself. He knows all your problems and positives. Seek Him first, before seeking buildings to join others. Being a part of a group will not bring you peace or safety. I hope that makes sense. You may agree with me already. But I just got this vibe from your posts that you may be looking for shelter for your soul in these mere buildings. Besides, what we are doing now is also a type of church. We're all here to help and support each other, so stay with us through this troubling time. You have a lot of people on here who want to help you because we care. Love & Shalom
  33. @Christine Amen. I have been trying to study these lately (whenever I am well enough to do so.) I'm just scratching the surface so far. But I believe this was important to God. So many intricate details that are hard for the mind to wrap around. But I love how they tie in with the New Testament. It brings a deeper and richer meaning for me. As you said, Jesus is the central theme.
  34. Hi Spock, So now we are up to looking at how all those details fit into the trumpet sequence. First, we see that Satan and his (active)demons are cast to the earth at the mid-point of trib. This lines up with the 5th trumpet which gives a picture of Satan falling to the earth and releasing the demons that have been locked for awhile, onto the earth. 5th trumpet .........I......................................................................................................................I...> Satan & demons on the earth. Secondly, we see that the 6th trumpet judgment starts with the great army and continues through to the 2 witnesses being killed, (3.5 days), and then rising, and finally the Great earthquake, which completes the second woe. 5th Trumpet (woe) 6th Trumpet / woe 7th T woe .........I....................................................................................................................I...> Satan & demons Gt. Army Gt. EarthQ. on the earth.
  35. I wouldn't get all out of joint about it
  36. Note: I have helped friends buy caskets from independent casket sales retail stores! A whole lot cheaper by thousands of dollars than one of those corporate chain funeral homes that owns a major casket manufacturer. As for me I have been at enough funerals, memorial services, to last the rest of my lifetime. I do not need the comfort of one, I do not need the lifestyle memorial service of happy talk with trinkets of one's life on display either. Not especially hardened, just find no benefit in funerals of any sort anymore. We have one in the family this month. I have opted not to go as I already had made a major financial commitment to attend another function and celebrate an event with my bride. I know my now deceased family member. I know He is with my Lord Jesus and has no need of my remembrance of him, nor do I need any comforting. We did all that stuff as we lived, and celebrated having valued each other whether near or far apart. A year ago we had a clambake in honor of my mother, took a place at the beach and had a grand time. We scattered her ashes at the favorite place of her youth, where my father also was scattered years ago. Cost about $15,000 for a high ol' time for about sixteen of us to stay on the beach. Pretty cheap per person, fine time, lots of relaxation, and reflection, a really nice week after a hard time of the final illness of a loved one. Beats heck out of a funeral/memorial service at some chapel for an hour! I state all this with the demise of a long lived loved one in mind. For in contrast to that, I do know the value of gathering, and a formal time of services to help the grieving individuals especially upon suffering that sudden death of a young one, a young friend, neighbor, or offspring. That is a bit of a different situation.
  37. what kinds of sins are you having trouble with?
  38. There can't be three if Rev 20 says, this is the FIRST resurrection, and then describes the next resurrection as after the 1000 years being complete, hence the 2nd. And no, the meaning is not different, the object is. In 1 Thess 4 the dead are first before the living, within the 1st resurrection. In Rev 20 first refers to the complete concept of the resurrection of the dead. Then what of the living in Christ that make it through the '7 year tribulation' when the dead of Rev 20 are resurrected? If one assumes, as scripture says, there is only one 1st resurrection then the 1 Thess 4 resurrection is the same as the Rev 20 resurrection. I mean, how do we just add a resurrection when the Greek, as you pointed out says, "prote = the first"? And then you claim it to be the second? What? I mean how?
  39. Praising and thanking the Lord!
  40. I wasn't scared of anything when i stopped dating. I got sick and tired, in an angry way, of putting up with all the crap trying to find a woman to love doing it the world's way. After years and years of trying it their way, I'm always treated like crap and screwed over and losing friends and family making them my enemies just because i dated someone. Such as, if i never dated this one girl, we just stayed friends, then that time i moved in with my best friend and he brought her in while i was dating her and they had sex with me in the house- well, if she wasn't dating me, it wouldnt have become my problem and i still could have been a friend to both of them. But now since that day years ago, it ruined my friendship with him and he forces her not to talk to me, so i lost 2 buddies for nothing. I lost someone i spent the majority of my childhood with, and lost it over him wanting to marry her while i dated her. Sure, not much of a friend to do that, but basically he finds that his biggest dream. You'd betray me to have eternal life, wouldnt you? Well, if i hadn't dated anyone of the past girls who were my friends, but then because of stupid stuff, breaking up either bothered them or me, they didnt ever want to be friends- they would still be my friends if it wasn't for dating. My wife wouldnt be uncomfortable with me talking to my exs just to say hello or tell them i will pray for them if i didnt date them years ago. I will tell you this, nothing much more could make your spouse happy, then them finding out when they marry you- they are your first and only one you kiss, they are the only one you make love to, they are the only one you've ever felt romance for, etc. That doesn't have to be a fantasy, it can be real. Many of us usually say somewhere we wish we wouldve saved ourselves for this person we married. At least i saved my virginity for my wife. It makes her very very happy. She still wishes i would of never dated other girls or kissed some. Dating ruined that for her.
  41. As Sela and Jeff said above, for sure. But remember, Jesus is God..........
  42. who is God.... well for me it is the three Amigos.. Father, Son and Holy Spirit.... pretty much the head and control of everything...… but gives us the opportunity of experiencing free will. Why am I here..... I was sent here to help 5 people who were being bothered by demonic forces and needed a bit of help and prayer..... I've stayed around to help others when I can and to have fun with the folks here discussing things both serious and not.
  43. Been there too....spent a morning checking out various railroad crossings .......later had a mouthful of pills that I luckily did not swallow...depression is a monster.......It is a cliche, but “ what a difference a day makes” can NOT be emphasized enough......NEVER give up! .... things can change VERY quickly......stay in prayer .... ...... “God is close to those whose hearts are breaking”......God pulled me out of despair — and I mean UTTER DESPAIR—- He will do the same for you! You will be in my prayers! God bless...
  44. Dear Ella, I was in the midst of responding to your posts, and cries of desperation here, and the plug on my PC got slightly dis-lodged. Power down. You've been a member for almost five years, and with little input. I'm trying to understand the fragile situation at present, but with not a lot of info, it's difficult at best. The thing is this: Nothing is worth ending you life for. NOTHING There's need for an intervention in your life right now, and it's a bit limited for an internet ministry, tremendous as it is. Isolated and alone as you might be feeling, do reach out to someone, somewhere. And get back to us, we're praying for you. Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  45. If they reject the Atonement of the LORD Jesus as a Gift.. If they reject the teachings of Jesus.. Then yes they will be rejected even when they cry Lord Lord on the day of judgement and tell Him about all the wonderful works they have done in His name..
  46. People need to understand what heaven is, I believe. Jesus gives us a clue in Matthew 4:17 (Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand"). Another clue, something I read on a website: We don't go to heaven, heaven comes to us.
