  1. Hi nigh, People have twisted that scripture for their own ends - domination of women. So let`s see what the Greek says - `quietness/silence` Gk. hesuchazo, from hesuchazo, meaning meddlesomeness. So Paul is saying that women should not be meddlesome but listen quietly, (as should men, but women are more prone to butt in). Then assume `authority` Gk. ``authenteo,` meaning to act of oneself, dominate. So Paul is saying that women should not dominate men, and actually men are not to lord it over others either. (1 Peter 5: 3) Summing up we see that the Apostle Paul is saying that women should not be meddlesome or dominate men. We see women teaching in God`s word and prophesying, evangelising, etc. So it is not in regard to proper ministry but when women try to interrupt and dominate a meeting. Women are often quick to talk and thus there needs to be restraint in our behaviour when gathering together, so we don`t interrupt and lead off into our own agenda. And the same behaviour would be expected in other settings - not meddlesome and not dominating. regards, Marilyn.

  4. I appreciate you being in here with me like this. I'll get into some more about the works/ fruit that you see in a true believer later. I'm sure we'll agree on quite a few things and maybe not on some but there's nothing wrong with that we just need to talk about it anyhow. I was hoping that you didn't mean that you can just willful sin and be happy with it because that would hurt my heart. ? You were talking about the heart surgery that happens and you're absolutely right there is a change. You desire the things of God.

  6. Okay, for the next phase of the "eternal security" study. Let me reiterate that if you can`t discuss "nicely" this study isn`t meant for you. It isn`t about who thinks they are right. It`s about the Bible and understanding it the way it`s meant. The first part will not be about the "CLEAR" scripture that talks about works as a Christian. That will come later. It WILL come however. Initially, I`m simply putting scripture up that will be the foundation of the study. *John 10:27-29 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. "I" give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father`s hand *Romans 11:6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace *Ephesians 1:13 In Him also, when you heard the word of truth , the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption 0f those who are God`s possession -to the praise of His glory *Romans 11:29 For the gifts and callings are irrevocable [not able to change, final] God never says in His word that we have to promise never to sin again in order to receive the gift of salvation. He requires only "1" thing, to believe. Eternal life is not centered on "our" promises, but God`s. Based on Christ`s faithfulness, not ours. John 3:16 mentions "eternal life". That means forever, unchanging. God`s grace +our faith=eternal life Jesus`s sacrifice was enough, PERIOD! When Christ died for our sin`s...how many of them were future to Him? ALL OF THEM The timing of our sin is irrelevant from Christ`s perspective When our birth Mother`s had us, we were born, nothing could EVER change that. We certainly couldn`t become unborn, could we? It`s impossible to reverse a birth! Okay, that`s all for this session. Let`s digest this together. Please remember that this can be constructive and even fun if we let it be. If you become angry reading this, there could be a pride issue that you need to deal with. It`s the beautiful word of God and we "GET" to discuss it anytime we choose. What a blessing. I won`t respond to mean spirited posts.

Hope this helps you to have a broader understanding, pray, and ask The Holy Spirit to awaken you to more of Gods truth as you read The Word, God bless.

  10. There's plenty is scripture that will say otherwise. Not there yet, but if anyone who calls themself a Christian and thinks it's okay to willfully sin, they need to do a while lot more Bible study. It's impossible for a Christian to be okay with living in sin

  12. First off, this is not my field of expertise, and I likely lack the wisdom to give a great answer, but I will wing it with my opinion, never the less. You did not mention what you meant by bullying. I think (though not everyone will agree) that there is a big difference between name calling, insults, teasing, etc. These are forms of verbal abuse, but they are just words. Words have only as much power as you give them. Can they be scary? Sure. Hurtful? Definitely. These reactions are from our side, not from the side of those persecuting you. When we react with fear, pain, dread, or even with retaliation, we are giving those people just what they are after. Personally, I would prefer not to let them win, but instead, to take it all in stride, and consider that the opinions of such people, are not worth much consideration. I do not know if you are a Christian, but since you came here, I figure the odd of that, are pretty high. If that is the case, then Jesus is our example. He took abuse, and did not retaliate, nor did He consider giving up. He chose instead, to take a lot of abuse, and to pray for his enemies, and asked for the strength and resolve, to do the right thing, as hard as that can be at times. I suggest that you take it to the Lord in prayer, and pray for those people, even forgiving them, whether or not they ask for it or deserve it. My mom said to me as a child, that "sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me". That was the attitude I took at her advice, and it worked for me, though I continued to be bullied into me young twenties. I learned to not show fear or distress even when threatened with physical violence. In truth, I was afraid at times, but I never let my enemies have the pleasure of knowing that they had any effect on my emotions, and I was able to take their insults as just the mutterings of cruel losers. Those who behaved badly toward me, gave up when they were not seeing their attacks produce the reactions they sought, and so they moved on. Of course, there were always new people to take their places, it was as if I went through life with a kick me sign taped to my back. The lessened and even went away at college age. I am not sure that my experiences will have any validity for your life, this is only the experience of one person, but perhaps it will give you something to think about, and perhaps some of the principles will work for you. I would strongly suggest, however, that you consider not only that Jesus told us to expect to be poorly treated, and for us to be enduring, but also consider that allowing yourself to be shaken by some numbskulls, only encourages them to treat others badly also. I suggest finding friends, counselors, etc. who can serve as moral support, and if social media is part of this equation, consider withdrawing from such activities, as they are breeding grounds for bad behavior often. Finally, I suggest also, reading Philippians 4, and take the advice there about anxiety. Don't quit school, just take it one day at a time, and to the degree that you can do that, the abuse will not accumulate, it is just more of the same, and just take the attitude Jesus had, and get by on the strength He had, by depending on the Father and the Holy Spirit. Also, I suggest that any who may read this, please remember Emily in your prayers. - Omegaman 3.0

  19. We give God a thank offering of praise just because of Who He IS. We thank Him for His creation and for the life He has given us as well as the new life He has given us. We especially thank Him for the gift of His Son, the Lamb of God whose blood takes away all our sin and enables us to be in fellowship with our Father God. Heb 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. Heb 13:16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Verse 16 reminds us that another offering to God is to share with believers who are suffering great need. This kind of sacrifice is also very pleasing to God. Giving sacrificially is sometimes doing so when it is not easy, but because of our love for God and also our love for our brothers in Christ.

  21. Shalom, BeauJangles. LOL! Couldn't tell ya. First, we don't know whether God will even USE oysters to make these pearls! The text says nothing of their formation. He could, of course, create them ex nihilo! Then, too, knowing how oysters put down layer after layer of material around an irritation within their shell to make a pearl, maybe they WILL be made by specially created oysters to represent symbolically how our sins have irritated God down through the years! Since they will each have one of the names of the tribes of Israel, perhaps, they symbolize the irritations that the children of Israel have been to God down through the years! We'll just have to wait and see.

  23. Interesting topic, sugarbear. I've been on both sides of the coin so to speak, having parents whose churches taught against eternal security. Later on, joined a church for a couple of years that did teach in favor of it. And would like to still adhere to it, however the pastor of the church I had been attending says, "I don't believe in eternal security, but I also don't believe in eternal in-security." There's a lot of rascals in this church, so perhaps if this teaching were high on the preaching's agenda, the pastor is concerned for the wayward to take it for license. And I can see the point of his reasoning, in that respect. I also admire the admonishment of taking this topic with all due civility towards one another. Thank you for that also. So, I will hang in there for the duration. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles

  27. The gospel is this - Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead. And these things were foretold. I didn't make that up - God said that. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 - "Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you — unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures." There is only one gospel. Jesus, before he died, called it the gospel of the kingdom and people began to repent and to be in anticipation of the Messiah, some even knowing it was Jesus. After his death, it's called the gospel of God, the gospel, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. The "good news" is all the same news. There is only one gospel in the Bible.

  29. Indeed there is and your proposition is incorrect. "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." " And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven." "...but we will all be changed— in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. " Interestingly this rapture verse refers to the 7th trump, post-trib. It's all of us, that are taken as we are the elect, to wit: Luke 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? Romans 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Colossians 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 1 Peter 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 2 John 1:1 The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth; 2 John 1:13 The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen. Now certainly this cannot be the 144,000 alone. I'm pretty sure they will be taken alive and so this would have to be living male virgins from near the time of Jesus return. The apostles here are speaking to the members of the churches and calling them ELECT, Peter even speaking to a woman with children. Meaning the elect are the dead in Christ as well as the living and will not be resurrected till the last trump sounds and not before. There would have to be evidence that 'fullness of the Gentiles' equates to a rapture, and there is not. So salvation is now equal to the rapture? That's just.... We know the general time of His return , not the specific day and hour. We are not privy to the DAY AND HOUR, but we can know the year, the month and perhaps the week. It seems that the month would be as close as we could come. In any case there will be no rapture till after the revealing of the beast at the midpoint.

  30. You do know dispensationalism is a farce? It's always been by grace from the time of Abraham. There is no such thing as Jew or Gentile. There are only the saved and the unsaved, those in Christ and those who are not. Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. There is no separation, only false doctrine creates division where there is none. 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. It does not matter if we are a Jew or Gentile, it's the same Spirit. Jews are not more or less than the Gentiles, the determining factor is salvation by the blood of the lamb and the guidance and power of the Spirit, not national lineage. Read Romans 11 for the full story. Well, not really. He says we will we see the times as they approach, we will not know the hour and the day of his return. Your argument is flat. Read Romans 11 then understand there are NOT two groups. All who are in Christ are the seed of Abraham. (Gal 3:29) That means we are in the same group as Moses, Abraham, Elijah, Isaac, and Jacob, who is Israel. No, that's why you struggle. "Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:" Jesus is speaking to whomever will hear in this portion of Matt. It's an assumption that all of the above is for the Jews only, and a weak proposition at that. The scripture says, "Let them which be in Judea..." Lets look at that. Are you assuming only Jews live in Judea? That would be wrong. Lots of foreigners live there from many countries and not all are Jews. Scripture says, "Let THEM which be in Judea..." this has to include everyone and anyone in the region which extends from just north of Jerusalem south to the Negev and includes parts the West Bank and then west to the Sea. Jesus is not referencing a specific nationality here and so likewise he is not referencing any specific nationality when He says, "on the housetop not come down, which is in the field return and, your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day." Jesus would not mention the Sabbath specifically after the other warnings if this was just about the Jews, Jesus is including everyone in Judea; Jews, Christians, Muslims, tourists, foreign nationals, exchange students, etc. Just as an aside the owner of this site is in the Negev, should he not be able to flee? True, what proves there is no pre-trib rapture is evidence to the contrary and the refutation contained in the very verses used to exploit a false doctrine. Look to Jewish tradition if you wish, it will not help. The beast will rise first and no one will be going anywhere. You'll see, pray to be ready for the war.

  31. "Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality." - 1 Cor 15 What you are saying is that the last trump will sound before the first trump, or there are two 'last trumps'. "When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory." - 1 Cor 15 Over what then would this victory come? Traffic jams? Slow Wi-Fi? "For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn: Christ the first fruits; then at His coming, those who belong to Him." Seems apt to think Paul was talking about the instant change we will experience at His coming and at the last trumpet, since Paul does mention both of those things in this chapter. Paul's conclusion here is that 1 Cor 15:51-52 occur at Jesus' coming and at the last trump; both of which occur at or near to the 6th seal. A hundred thousand people around the world die every year for Jesus. Where is their rapture? Or is the rapture just for white, western, affluent, Christian churches? Luke said we would be counted worthy to flee, not be taken off the earth, if we sincerely prayed for protection. 'To escape' does not hold the meaning; "Jesus is going to come secretly and take all of us from this earth and transport us to heaven in the the twinkling of the eye." In fact 'to escape' in Luke 21 is this idea; ekpheugó: to flee away Original Word: ἐκφεύγω Part of Speech: Verb Transliteration: ekpheugó Phonetic Spelling: (ek-fyoo'-go) Definition: to flee away Usage: I flee out, away, escape; with an acc: I escape something. The individual is running away from whatever it is they are confronted with. But I don't think this is restricted to a physical flight and is also a spiritual fleeing from the deception of the beast and the FP and the mark. Will we be counted worthy to steel our minds and reject the strong pull to heed the beast and take the mark to save our flesh? That is what we need to be counted worthy to escape individually.

  34. The tongue can be a razor. The tongue can be a fire. It only takes one misguided sentence to crush a heart, OR, cause a World War. Some parents who should never be parents, have caused more harm to their Children by what they say to them, then 100 beatings. I once saw a dad do this............His son (Bryce) was in the Cub Scouts.... He was 6 or 7. (at the time) and the boy was given an assignment to take a new bar of soap and carve it into a turtle. So, the weekend came and Bryce had the soap. However, the boy had never used a knife before, as what 6-7 yr old has access to a knife? So, the dad gives him his pocket knife and leaves. The boy has no idea what to do......is kind of scared of this knife, and does not even try to use it. An hour later the dad comes back to see what is going on, what has been accomplished.... and the soap is not touched, the knife is not opened and the boy is scared. I watched and heard this man start yelling at his little boy......"You didn't even try, you are a quitter, you are nothing but a quitter, and you'll be a quitter all your LIFE". 25 yrs later, the boy is a drug addict, never married, no friends, no accomplishments in life. He's a dead man walking. So, truly, words can kill everything that could have been, and should have been. Words can burn every bridge of Hope and words can part what God wanted to be together.

  35. This that you said ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is how i understand what you are talking about. To praise God in your storm, in your pain, in your anger, in your darkest hour....is a sacrifice of praise. When you are in a hard place in life, and you want to blame God.........you praise Him instead. When you are in a situation where someone has betrayed you and this feels like thorns in your eyes, is the same pain in your heart,...........you find a way to praise God. Praise is easy when you are happy, but praise is a sacrifice when you are hurting. God remembers all your tears.

  38. yes I certainly agree with the OP. However I have also experienced extreme frustration with atheists especially when encountered on YouTube. Nevertheless they are still creatures of God and we have to be kind to them. Praying for them is good the other thing to do is cannot buy into their game. on YouTube I don't answer them nasty either I answer them in a kind way or I don't answer at all. the truth is before I knew God I was often very hard to get along with I used to consider the Bible mythology I started reading it to prove it wrong but the Holy Spirit came over me and I came to know it as truth. therefore the one thing we shouldn't do is to hate them. We can hate what they believe in we can hate what they do their sins but we should not hate them.

I'm told that Yoga is a simple tool to accomplish things much like a screw driver, a car or whatever..... it can be used for good or evil. Is there scripture telling us not to use yoga if we are not contacting the dark side... 43. Ella, I'm doubting you're a psychopath. First of all, I once read women aren't psychopaths, at least there aren't any famous ones I know of. I also agree with the person who said psychopaths don't usually want to hurt themselves. This makes sense because psychopaths are extremely narcissistic and selfish. They lack any real compassion and only feel emotions for themselves. However they are experts at pretending like they feel as the rest of us do. But they often overdo it since they aren't feeling the emotion they are imitating. They are also chronic liars. In addition to this they usually believe no one has ever done one little thing to help them without being compensated. A psychopath will insist this is true even if you are a person who has done him several favors. I could go on but I won't. From the little you said here, you sound sad and probably depressed to me. I hope you have a good friend you can confide in. Good friends can help a lot. I know because I've often been the good friend. I hope you feel better soon.

Science also does not believe that we evolved only by chance. Evolution went through natural selection and that is more than just chance, things that are better adapted to the enviroment, are universally more likely to survive. All our ancestors went extinct or evolved into what they are now, the modern monkeys are very different from our common ancestor with monkeys

  46. The purpose of the rapture is to resurrect the just from the dead and take all the saints out of the world before the tribulation comes, in order that they may have fulfilled in them the purpose for which God has saved them. Jesus told the disciples that some would escape the terrible things that were to transpire on the Earth in the last days. He said, “Pray that you may be accounted worth to escape all these things of, Matt. 24, 25; Luke 21:1-19, 25-28, that shall come to pass, and stand before the Son of man,” Luke 21:34-36. These two passages in Luke 21:34-36 and John 14:1-3, are the only ones in the Gospels that are clear concerning the Rapture. Jesus did not reveal this, it was revealed by Paul many years later in 1 Cor. 15:51. The disciples did not have the slightest idea as to how they were to escape, unless they thought that Christ would deliver them from these things through His power. The how was not revealed or even mentioned before Paul explained how they were to escape. The Rapture of the church should never be confused with the second coming or second advent of Christ, for He does not come to the earth at that time. The Rapture is a distinct coming in itself, not to the Earth, but in the air where Christ meets the saints and then takes them back to Heaven to present them blameless before God the Father, John 14:1-3; 1 Thess. 3:13; 4:16, 17. The Rapture takes place several years before the literal advent of Christ to the Earth, for they, the saints come back with Him at that time. The saints are in Heaven before God, and not in the air, from the time of the Rapture to their coming again with Christ to reign as kings and priests, Jude 14; Rev. 19:14; Zech. 14:5. At the Rapture, the Lord comes from Heaven as far as the air, or Earthly Heavens and the saints will be caught up to meet Him in the air. At the second coming, the saints are not raptured, and neither is Christ, but both will come back to the Earth together. The rapture takes place before the Tribulation, whereas the second Advent takes place after the Tribulation. The Rapture could occur at any time, whereas the second Advent cannot occur until after the tribulation.

What would help is to read Revelation with the understanding that chapters 1-5 are sequential, then compare the opening seals of the scroll with the bulletined topics in chapter 6.. then that expands to portray the events in a thematic manner. The themes echo what Daniel saw as from a great distance, while John saw from a closer distance. However, some parts that Daniel and John saw were/are magnified for more detail. The thematic approach is evident in that the Second Coming is spoken of in different chapters (6, 16, 19). So make use of the numbered chapters and verses for reference purposes only. Do not assume that the numbered chapters imply sequence. It might help to read from a Bible that doesn't use numbers for chapter, verse at all. It's a matter of personal preference as to how many or how few Bible versions you use. Go with what helps you to understand the topics, and context best.. however, keep the King James, New King James handy to compare and stay on track. The New Living paraphrased will function to get through the speed bumps in the Elizabethan English. Be ready to use research online when you read. The books of Daniel and Revelation are heavy with Jewish idioms so familiarize yourself with them. But don't get overwhelmed or discouraged if you don't get something. At the risk of sounding biast, it's also highly required for the reader to be dispensational and pre-tribulational. That is the only way that any of the Biblical books of endtime events' vast puzzles will work out right.

  48. I believe there could be many other people signing this treaty so I don’t know if DT would necessarily have to be the AC, but if a treaty IS SIGNED FOR 7 years I’m watching very closely, especially if it guarantees Israel to build another temple.
