  1. So many people have gotten electronic requests to "friend" strangers that the word is changing its meaning. Jesus Christ gave it its deepest meaning when He greeted His betrayer Judas as "Friend." His love reaches out to even us, His enemies. "God commendeth His love for us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) Unlike our other friends, He knows everything about us. "Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered." (Luke 12:7) Unlike others who may unfriend us or die, He says, "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." Jesus isn't a mere historical figure, but God who became a man, died and lives forever. "He ever lives to make intercession for us." (Hebrews 7:25) Rejecting His love, like Judas did, means an eternity of suffering for our own sin. Receiving Him means spending eternity with the best friend possible. "No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you." (John 15:13)

  2. Anyone else enjoy their solitude? I don't mind it. When out, I can enjoy people, but I also like solitude. I feel it allows us to have an inner quietness that helps us to sense a closeness with the Lord more. This is a precious thing to me.

  3. Pray and get others to pray for him and let it all happen in God's time. Don't be afraid of adversity. It's often in trying times and in old age that people grow more open to God. It sounds to me like your husband fell prey to worldly science, which is a thing that operates very similarly to religion whether people want to acknowledge that or not. This is especially so when it comes to things like the origin of life and the universe. The theories science has for those absolutely do require require faith. Science testing things and revising and refining knowledge is like a Christian going through tough times and experiencing God's touch, and as a result their faith is refined. I'd add that the learned men of the day have been wrong about things before. Joseph Lister lived in the 1800s and early 1900s. He spoke of the need to use clean, sterilized tools for surgery. His scientific peers largely mocked him for it and called it absurd. This was a little short of two hundred years ago. He's not the only example of this sort of thing. If your husband is in to science then maybe some creationist scientist perspectives could prompt him to think about it a little more. If you want to try that then maybe ask around here for some good names, videos, and articles on the topic or browse some old posts. Just bear in mind that at the end of it all it's not how you work on your husband. It's how God works on him and how your husband chooses to respond.

  4. Solitude can be a good thing, I really enjoy it, however . . . If it becomes a way of life and we deny ourselves the benefits of the company of others and we deny them the benefits of our company, then I think we might even be guilty of sin. Here I am of course, speaking to Christians. We are told not to forsake that gathering of ourselves together. We are informed that we each have some spiritual gifts, and the primary purpose of these is to build up God's church, His people. Also, since disciples are commanded to make other disciples being followers of Jesus, the Christ) and to teach them what Jesus taught - - - well, it us just very hard to do that in isolation. Perhaps our circumstance make it difficult or impossible, to be with others. That of course, is another thing, but our heart, our desire, out choice should be to be with others. God made mankind to be in fellowship with Him and with others, so that should be something we practice. I agree with what others have said, about the time of being alone with God, and to be apart from some of the pressures that being with others can evoke, but we should not use this aspect of solitude, to escape from our social awkwardness, phobias, or other things that the enemy can use to divide us or to hinder God's purposes for our lives. This can go for several kinds of fear that many of use have. If I am not mistaken, the phrase "do not fear is used 365 times in the Bible, that is often enough for once each day of the year. So, no excuses, it is not an either or thing. There is a time and a place for solitude, and a time and a place for companionship and even being with others who we may not even like, we do that for their sakes, because we are commanded to love even our enemies. It is much harder fo love enemies from a distance. Love is something we do, to benefit others. The contrast if that point is summed up with words like hate, selfishness, and pride! At least, those are my opinions!

  5. Peter and Paul preached the same gospel. Peter agreed with Paul's teaching. However, Peter preached to the Jews alone in Jerusalem, except for the God fearing centurion. Paul went first to the Jews and preached in the synagogs in the towns, and then went to the gentiles. So he said when he spoke to the Jews he became a Jew, and when he spoke to the gentiles he became like them so that all could be saved. He spoke to each from the perspective of his own culture. He could debate with the philosophers and teach as well as any rabbi, yet speak the words given by the Holy Spirit as did Peter.

  6. A Message to my Worthy Family This is my virtual greeting card to you. I wrote this poem for all of you. It comes with a prayer that your gatherings with family and friends tomorrow will be blessed. May we celebrate the Lord's triumph in His resurrection. And sing along with the old hymn " Christ the Lord is risen today. Hallelujah!" Celebrate The Wondrous Day by turtletwo This greeting comes to bring good cheer As 'Resurrection Day' draws near Christ rose and though He went away He will return for us one day Take heart in what He's promised you And thank Him for what He went through He bled and suffered on a tree He died in place of you and me So celebrate this wondrous day The heavy stone was rolled away He conquered death and offers men The freedom to be born again

  10. Hi Sybille. This is from my notes as posted in a thread linked to below. I hope this helps answer your question. Please let me know how you get on as I have dealt with a lot of trouble in this area. Eph 6:10-12 (10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. (11) Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. There will be some more struggles with the enemy. Been a few so far. The corruption, deception, and exploitation is always around. It's a spiritual war we're in, hence the need for spiritual armour. The enemy uses camoflage, undertakes espionage, does sabotage, and holds captives in bondage. We need our spiritual armour. The helmet of salvation for thoughts free of condemnation. The breastplate of righteousness for values not to be compromised. The girdle of truth for integrity to be held secure. The footwear of preparedness to preach the gospel of peace for doctrinal stability. The shield of faith for putting out inflammatory missiles of evil origin. The Sword of the Spirit for doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness; to be thoroughly furnished for every good work. The prayer and supplication in the Spirit for guidance and provision. The watching with perseverance in intercession for the health and welfare of the body of Christ. We put our spiritual armour on for spiritual warfare, not as a ritual to feel good about having done, but to engage the enemy that seeks our destruction. The wiles of the enemy are no match for a Christian wearing their spiritual armour...an armour wearing Christian is able to stand against the wiles of the enemy. If the Devil bring it on, Christian better have their armour on.

  11. Yes, complete unbelievers do get saved! Usually it happens as the Holy Spirit speaks to their hearts. The fact that your husband is ok with your faith and raising the children with faith is a good sign! Do live your Christian life around him in a loving manner, not a pushy manner. As others have mentioned, pray for him. If he is interested in any scientific evidence regarding the Creator....try The Institute for Creation Research....icr.org....many interesting articles and videos by scientists who are Creationists. They explain many intricate things that help prove there is a Creator. Good stuff.

  13. One of my devotions this morning, (William MacDonald) which I thought was relevant at this time, which Marilyn C and others observe. "Let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach." Hebrews 13:13. We learn first from this verse that Christ is the gathering centre for His people. We don't gather to a denomination, a church, a building, or a great preacher, but to Christ alone. "Unto Him shall the gathering of the people be" (Gen 49:10). "Gather My saints together to Me, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice" (Ps 50:5). A second lesson is that we must go to Him outside the camp. The camp here is defined as "the whole earthly religious system adapted to the natural man. "It is the religious sphere in which Christ is dishonoured or downgraded. It is the pagan monstrosity that masquerades today as Christianity, "having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof." Christ is outside, and we must go out to Him. We also learn that meeting to Christ alone outside the camp involves reproach. It seldom occurs to Christians that there is reproach connected to obedience to the Lord in the matter of church fellowship. More often church associations carry a measure of prestige and status. But the closer we get to to the New Testament ideal, the more likely it is that we will have to share His reproach. Are we willing to pay that price? He called me out, the Man with garments dyed, I knew His voice- My Lord, the crucified; He showed Himself, and oh, I could not stay, I had to follow Him,- had to obey. It cast me out-this world when once it found That I within this rebel heart had crowned The Man it had rejected, spurned and slain, Whom God in wondrous power had raised to reign. And so we are without the camp, My Lord and I, But oh, His presence sweeter is than any earthly tie Which once I counted greater than His claim; I'm out, not only from this world, but to His Name. I tend to think that as we see "the day approaching" that our Lord and Saviour is causing us to "see Him, as He truly is" and that we should "leave all, and follow Him." What do you think? Hope this has been helpful, God bless.

I`m also thinking that the importance of going to a meeting will lessen and the gathering of 2`s & 3`s etc will become our focus. ` ...not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together....but exhorting one another, AND SO MUCH THE MORE, as YOU SEE THE DAY APPROACHING.` (Heb. 10: 25) regards, Marilyn.

  24. What if God wanted a very large family of His own, to enjoy, who are created in His image, His likeness, and have freewill? Exactly like the First Adam, before his fall, and exactly like the second Adam, who lives in us all. If we notice the nature of Jesus, who is God, and as all the born again are being conformed to be just like His NATURE, which is the exact image of God...then we'll all be just like Jesus when we are a completed transformation. We will still be our own selves, in personality, giving each of us a unique Identity and personality, but our nature will be the same as God's. Could it be that simple? An entire Body of Christ, who are just like Christ, but yet each of us, is us......all together, loving God, as He loves us. "Heaven".

  27. I have been confined to my house a long time now for medical reasons. Sometimes I do miss being out and about. But solitude (even if from my bed) is so needful in a relationship with God. I think this was captured nicely in a poem which I would like to share with you. I Needed the Quiet I Needed the Quiet by Alice Hansche Mortenson, copyright 1944 I needed the quiet so He drew me aside Into the shadows where we could confide. Away from the bustle where all the day long I hurried and worried when active and strong. I needed the quiet tho at first I rebelled But gently, so gently, my cross He upheld And whispered so sweetly of spiritual things Tho weakened in body, my spirit too wings To heights never dreamed of when active and gay. He love me so greatly, He drew me away. I needed the quiet. No prison my bed, But a beautiful valley of blessings instead - A place to grow richer in Jesus to hide. I need the quiet so He drew me aside.

  30. I think 'in part' why America was so greatly blessed, was because of our support and friendship with Israel. Genesis 12:3 is also another verse that highly disputes the false belief that the church has replaced Israel (replacement theology). Whereas; because the Jew's rejected their Messiah and murdered Him, the church inherited all the promises and blessings God promises Israel. That verse has always been, and continues to be in effect. The Book of Revelation makes it very clear the Lord is not done with Israel, and they will be restored.

  31. Shalom Debp, Me too! It's weird because sometimes I think I shouldn't enjoy it that much, but I really don't mind. The Lord separated Himself from the crowds and even the disciples many times for solitude. I think the silence and peace enables us to converse with Spirit without distraction or any stimulus to derail our thoughts. In fact I would prescribe a bit of regular solitude to anyone who wants to peaceful mind in this busy, distracting world. Love & Shalom

  32. Labeling yourself Israeli or Jew does not necessarily mean you are numbered among them. Rather, doing the works of an Israeli or Jew reifies the Seed/Identity. Hear the Word of Elohim! John 8:37-39 King James Version (KJV) 37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. 38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. 39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. Matthew 3:7-9 King James Version (KJV) 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

  42. MESSIAH YESHUA IN THE PASSOVER, From Exodus 12:1-13 Vs 2; “THIS MONTH SHALL BE THE BEGINNING OF MONTHS, IT SHALL BE THE FIRST MONTH OF THE YEAR TO YOU” So where does January 1st fit in? It doesn’t! This was an invention of man, to change the calendar that God had already given us. God operates on a lunar calendar, and the Gregorian calendar uses the sun. But if we are going to understand the events and dates that events occur in the Bible, we need to be familiar with the lunar calendar. The month of “Nisan” which usually starts in April, is the “New Year” for us. This year, 2019, “New Year’s Day” was on April 6th. It is also interesting that the original Hebrew word for Springtime is "Aviv" and that used to be the name for this month. After the return of the Israelites from captivity in Babylon, the name was changed to "Nisan" (almost like the name of the car) Vss 3-5; ON THE TENTH OF THIS MONTH, EVERY MAN SHALL TAKE FOR HIMSELF A LAMB......................YOUR LAMB WILL BE WITHOUT BLEMISH...FROM THE SHEEP OR FROM THE GOATS. Something tremendous is about to happen, a joyous occasion, an event of “Thanksgiving” sort of speaking. In the USA we are accustomed to celebrating “Thanksgiving” in November, with turkeys, and we invite all family and relatives over to eat. In Egypt, the Israelites were slaves and were about to be freed. This “Thanksgiving” occasion called for “lambs” perfect lambs without illness, or deformities, one of the names of “Yeshua” our Messiah is the “Lamb of God” who was also, and still is “without blemish” what happened on the 10th day of the month of Nisan two thousand years ago? Yeshua entered Jerusalem on a donkey, to be known as Messiah, to heal the sick, and teach the Torah, to be known by the people, everyone greeted him with palm branches and shouted “Hosanna to the Son of David” and five days later shouted “Crucify him” (well, not all shouted that) many wept and many understood Daniel's prophecy that the “Messiah would be “cut off” (crucified) in Daniel chapter 8. This date is commonly known as “Palm Sunday” in the Christian communities. Vss 6-7; YOU SHALL KEEP IT UNTIL THE FOURTEENTH DAY OF THE SAME MONTH, THEN THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY OF THE CONGREGATION OF ISRAEL SHALL KILL IT AT TWILIGHT. AND THEY SHALL TAKE SOME OF THE BLOOD AND PUT IT ON THE TWO DOORPOSTS AND ON THE LINTEL OF THE HOUSES WHERE THEY EAT IT” A day begins at “Twilight” when the sun goes down, it is the start of a new day. So, five days after the lamb was in the houses, being inspected to see if it had any blemishes, it was slaughtered at “Twilight” and the blood was placed on the two side beams of the houses, and on the top beam. When we see Yeshua in this, we see him in Jerusalem, comes in on the tenth of Nisan, then on the 14th day of Nisan, five days later (ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, and fourteen) he is crucified on the cross of Calvary, for our sins, once and for all time, The blood on the doorposts and lintel form a “cross” we can imagine the head of Yeshua at the top, wet with the blood from his head where the crown of thorns was, and the two side posts where his hands were nailed, and the blood ran down to the base of the cross. Vs 8; AND THEY SHALL EAT THE FLESH ON THAT NIGHT, ROASTED WITH FIRE, AND WITH UNLEAVENED BREAD AND WITH BITTER HERBS, THEY SHALL EAT IT” We often see this done in parks, on BBQ pits, families bring hamburgers, hot dogs, fajitas, sausage, etc and roast them over an open fire, well in Goshen, the lambs were roasted over open fires on spits, we look at the symbolism of “fire” and we are reminded of “heat, light, destruction, purification, zeal, and judgment. Yeshua was “roasted” on Calvary's cross in the fire of judgment, being judged for all of our sins, past, present, and future. Yeshua is also known by the name “The Bread of Life” who was born in the “House of Bread” (Beit-Lechem) or in English “Bethlehem” it is only fitting that the “Bread of Life” would be born in the “House of Bread” Unleavened bread symbolizes “without sin” leaven symbolizes “sin” as “leaven or yeast” puffs up the dough, and so we get bread made with flour and yeast, sin often makes us “swell or puff up with false pride” . The “bitter herbs” remind us of the slavery that the Israelites went through in Egypt for 400 years. We are reminded of the “slavery to sin” being bound to Ha Satan. We don't know exactly what kind of bitter herbs were used back then, but today, we use horseradish. The bitterness of sin is passed when we come to Yeshua and accept Him as LORD and Savior. Vss 11-13: …...” YOU SHALL EAT IT IN HASTE, IT IS THE LORD'S PASSOVER, FOR I WILL PASS THROUGH THE LAND OF EGYPT ON THAT NIGHT AND WILL STRIKE ALL THE FIRST BORN OF EGYPT, BOTH MAN AND BEAST AND AGAINST ALL THE GODS OF EGYPT, I WILL EXECUTE JUDGMENT, I AM YHVH. NOW THE BLOOD WILL BE A SIGN FOR YOU ON THE HOUSES WHERE YOU ARE, AND WHEN I SEE THE BLOOD, I WILL “PASS OVER” YOU, AND THE PLAGUE SHALL NOT BE ON YOU TO DESTROY YOU WHEN I STRIKE THE LAND OF EGYPT” This is the night when the Egyptians get paid back for all their abuse and cruelty. In one night, Egypt was ruined. And a few days later, Egypt's army found itself on the bottom of the Red Sea. Egypt never quite recovered from the blow. Adonai-Elohim was saying to Pharaoh “I AM the LORD God, and YOU are not ME!” nor were the gods, any kind of gods, if anything, demonic entities. Each plague was against one of the many gods. “darkness” came against “Ra” the sun god. The death of the cattle came against “Apis” a god with the head of a bull. The Nile turned to blood, against the Nile goddess, and so forth. But the “Blood Standard” would “save” all who found themselves behind the closed doors of the houses where the blood was. Even the Egyptians Many who “woke up and smelled the coffee” sort of speaking, who realized they were on the losing side, if they put blood on their doors, they would also be saved. This shows that we serve a just God who is not racist. He accepts ALL people of ALL NATIONS and RACES. Who would trust in the shed blood of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus the Christ) that is why we see a “mixed multitude” that left Egypt together with the Israelites, it consisted of Egyptians and Nubians (people from Ethiopia and Sudan) who were living in Egypt at that time. The LORD would PASS OVER those houses where the blood of the lambs was placed. Today when we trust in the one-time sacrifice of Yeshua (Jesus) who shed his blood on Calvary's cross, we are saved from eternal destruction, eternal death, and separation from our creator. Just as the blood standard was in effect back then, it is still in effect NOW, and always will be. Happy Peach "Hag Sameach Pesach" Rabbi Ben Avraham
