  1. This poem is a tribute to my beloved mother who died on February 27th. My Mother's Legacy First mother's Day without my mom Is rather sad and hard This year I can not call her up Or even send a card There's so much love inside of me I feel I must address it And so for me to write a poem Is one way to express it My mother was the kindest soul She loved to give and share So sensitive to everyone And always there with prayer She shone so bright for Jesus In the things she'd do and say Reflecting Him to others In a clear and gentle way Whenever I was sick or down Or simply felt alone She always had the words I'd need And such a tender tone Her faith was so enduring It would rise above my fear Her voice, her laugh, her wisdom Are the memories I hold dear Her heart for Christ, her love for me and all our family... These things I'll always treasure They're my mother's legacy

  3. Last night I was feeling a bit down because of facing my first ever Mother's Day without my mom. She died 2 months ago. I was thinking about this when the Lord gently nudged my heart. He brought the following scriptures and song to mind. Then He prompted me to share this with my Worthy family. Apparently, there is someone out there who is meant to hear it. So I hope it will minister to any in need of this message. God says, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." (Isaiah 43:2) Through It All (lyrics by Andrae Crouch) I've had many tears and sorrows, I've had questions for tomorrow, there's been times I didn't know right from wrong. But in every situation, God gave me blessed consolation, that my trials come to only make me strong. Chorus: Through it all, through it all, I've learned to trust in Jesus, I've learned to trust in God Through it all, through it all, I've learned to depend upon His Word. Verse 2: I've been to lots of places, I've seen a lot of faces, there's been times I felt so all alone. But in my lonely hours, yes, those precious lonely hours, Jesus lets me know that I was His own! Chorus Verse 3: I thank God for the mountains, and I thank Him for the valleys, I thank Him for the storms He brought me through. For if I'd never had a problem, I wouldn't know that he could solve them, I'd never know what faith in God could do.

  4. I'll spare you scriptural quotes. It's not what you and I think or wish; it's what our Creator and Lord says about our eternal destination rejecting His free gift. God's word is crystal clear about the only "two" places our eternal souls will reside, and for how long. The question was addressed and answered. Detailed descriptions are given for each, Heaven or Hell followed by the Lake of Fire. Unless forgiven and covered by the blood of Christ; an eternal God requires eternal punishment for an eternal decision of rejection and rebellion. There's no such thing as Purgatory, paying a priest big bucks to get you prayed out faster; likewise commuted sentences. At you last breath, your last heartbeat; your fate, as well as our loved ones, are sealed in concrete for all eternity. Free will choices both in life and death have consequences whether we want to believe it or not. I choose not to be self-deceived.

  5. Just as there are two steps of grace...so Christ is to abide in us AND we are to abide in Him. His divine nature is within us at regeneration...but not His perfect walk...as Paul attests to in Romans 7. Without abiding in Christ we don't have the victory over the flesh that Jesus imparts to us through His resurrection. Jesus went through death and came out victorious...for US. In Him we have victory over sin and the power of death that causes us to sin. So then we give thanks to Jesus for His victory that WE can walk in by faith. Grace through faith! IOW...we only enter His life by abiding in Him... If we have received the initial grace that is Christ IN us...then we are to then go to God (the throne of grace) to get the fullness of grace and power. John 1:16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. It should really say...His fullness is grace on top of grace. It is His faith added onto our faith. The faith OF Christ was worked out in Jesus' humanity as He walked in this Earthly place. It is available to us as we enter into Him. We put on His victorious humanity when we put on Christ.

  6. Those who have a righteous disposition can react badly to a direct intervention of God. This is shown clearly in the reaction to the father's forgiveness of the faithful son towards the prodigal son. He wasn't so happy about his brothers' return. We often tend to react that way because we are not as forgiving or loving as God is. We need to remain aware of that. We see the same thing with Jonah....who was not desiring to be as merciful as God. Who were these Ninevites anyway to merit an unmerited favour of God?!! Zacharias was a righteous man yet he had a hard time with God's miraculous intervention. In the parable of the denarius...were the workers who had been toiling all day happy that the newly arrived workers got the same pay? Were they as generous as the One who hired them? God is merciful. He judges righteously. How would we react to knowing that God will spare many non-Christians...and yet judge Christians more harshly? Would our righteous dispositions not react in a fleshly way to knowing that non-Christians may rule over us in the next age? What a shot to our religious pride that would be. Yet God is greater than we are. We tend to maintain our own idea of righteous judgment. That is, until we learn humility...real humility. We need to remain humble and tread carefully. Let's not judge others...but trust to God's judgment. Let's remain self-aware of our own tendency towards judgment.

  7. There is another side to self-awareness. It is the self-awareness of a saint. One who walks in the power of God realizes that it is not him...it is Christ walking in Him. No one can walk without sin...unless that one walks IN Christ. So then a person who realizes that he is walking in the light...in holiness...KNOWS it's NOT him doing it. That's why Paul said...it is no longer I...but Christ. No one can walk like Jesus...with miraculous signs following...in his own power. So then the self-awareness of a saint is to become MORE humble than before. In the full stature of Christ there are wings to fly in the heavens as eagles...but there are also roots that keep us grounded. Wings AND roots. Those who deceive themselves...that claim their own connection to God...but lie...will become very proud...because secretly they ARE doing everything in their own strength. But walking with God is very humbling indeed. So then a humble person gives the appearance of wisdom..even if that person is not walking by the power of God. But make no mistake...a proud man is NOT with God. At least no longer so. A person who has walked with God but is no longer doing so at a certain time...in order to test the character of that person...can indeed become proud...very proud....since the person feels special...as in..."I must be very special to have walked with God"!! But that person is immature and lacks self-awareness. Returning to the carnal walk can induce a return to the carnal mind from whence we all came. Humility is far better. Even if we have walked with God...it is by HIS strength. His grace. Nothing that we do can attain this. It is a gift. A man should never boast himself for a gift he has received. God gives...but He can also take away. Better to remain humble and thankful for any visitation and revelation from God. May the Lord be glorified in us all. We have this treasure in ordinary earthen vessels. It is not the vessel that is special and precious....but what the vessels contain.

  8. Man has a bad habit of twistin' n cotortin' God's word to suit their own agenda or desire. To stray from the word in any form, takes from God's glory, it is self servin'. The good book clearly tells us what we are to believe without question. Just my two bits, JJ

  9. It is what it is. Disagree at your peril. Your ideas do not impress the Lord. Since there is NO reverence taught anymore, one might be consumed with soft and humanistic ideas about the Lord. If I were to offer a suggestion it would be to, "do justly, love mercy and walk HUMBLY with your God".

  11. thank you for the confirmation Jesus had this wonderful way of subtly revealing who He really was, without DEMANDING others recognize Him. I thought that might be the parallel and the goodman might be a hidden reference to Jesus. If it is, then it's not hard to draw parallels between faithfulness to Him while He is away, and spiritual adultery. I noticed a couple things in Jesus' exchange with the rich young ruler, and one was that He did not deny that He was the good teacher the ruler addressed Him as. He simply tried to get the ruler to ask himself who he was calling good, and why. In a way I see Jesus asking very gently and subtly asking "Do you really understand who you are talking to?"

  12. Here is a harder one that shows the depth of the word. It involves Proverbs 7. This chapter about the "strange woman", which, on the face of it, is about physical adultery and a warning against it. It concerns they who lack "understanding." More on this later. Prov. 7:7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding, The Hebrew shows a deeper meaning on a spiritual level. (Should we be surprised at this?) It involves false teaching. Spiritual error. In Hebrew the words for "strange woman" or...isha zarah... אשה זרה is in the feminine form... and this is an obvious play on words that refers to, and closely resembles, another biblical idea, that of "strange fire"...esh zarah. אש זרה which is the same idea but in masculine form. In order to get "strange woman" we only have to use the feminine form of "strange fire"...by adding a "hey" (meaning "behold") to the word for "fire". Play on words like this are very common in the OT and are one of the more common ways to convey deeper truths. God likes these. He loves to hide the truth in plain sight. This refers to the dangers of false doctrine...with many warnings and allusions in the chapter to that effect. If a man has no understanding of the word...then he can be easily "flattered" into believing a lie. He falls prey to what sounds good to the ear..but is meant to deceive and take one into spiritual adultery. it would take a lot of explaining to get into all the hidden references in the chapter that shows that there is a hidden spiritual message underlying it. How many care to know more about this? I wonder if anyone wants to try looking for them...

  13. Have you ever read a verse in the bible and saw new meaning in it as if you were reading it for the first time? Even though you had read it many times before? There are layers of meaning in the bible....especially in the OT....since the gospel was truly hidden at that time. But not so hidden that it can't be revealed by the Spirit and careful study. i would like to list some of these verses and I hope others will contribute as well. The goal is to encourage study of the bible for the purpose of edification, encouragement and general biblical understanding. Ok, here is one that kind of sets up all the rest..and shows that God is encouraging us to dig deeper into His word because He has hidden many treasures therein. It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. Prov. 25:2 The word "matter" used here is the Hebrew דבר Davar...which is better translated as "word". So then God hides meanings in words. He hides words (in plain sight) that have new layers or depths of meaning that convey His will and His ways. Many of these examples are too difficult to explain in short posts so then I'll try listing only those that can be more readily understood. (I read the bible in Hebrew as this is something that the Lord told me to do...by saying simply "learn Hebrew"...and from there on I've had a passion for reading the OT in the Hebrew.)

  17. That's a good idea. I heard or read something awhile back about why the majority of Sunday services are held at their specific times; namely Sunday School at 10:00 A.M. and worship service at 11:00 A.M., or there abouts. Tradition says it had to do with the farmers duties and chores around the farm milking the cows and such. In this day and age, corporate employers might make a pretense in trying to accommodate religious practices; but in reality if you can't conform to their schedules they don't need you. As a side note and somewhat related; in my location (Bible belt), great strides have been made against Blue Laws" or Sunday laws. Bars / liquor stores open and selling liquor and beer on the Sabbath. Anyway, it's my opinion a church serves its people and community both spiritually and physically. A church needs to adapt and change with the times to reach as many people as possible. We shouldn't be idle and wait for them to come to us on our schedule, but adapt to schedules and reach out and invite them in.

  21. Hi @turtletwo That is a fantastic poem to your Mother's Legacy. That caught me a bit, as it's also my first Mother's Day without my Mum. When you wrote it's the first time you can't ring or send a card, I thought yeah, that's how I felt. Birthdays is another one. My Mum went to be with Jesus on October 6th last year. There's one great thing that both you and I know about our Mums and we can rest assured in this, as both our Mums were believers in Jesus. That they are with Him right now! They've probably even met each other up there! And, we will see them again. We will be reunited with them again. A friend of mine said to me, not long after my Mum went, that my Mum is in my future, not my past. This is a temporary separation. It is far more painful for us, than it is for them. When I start to feel the pain, I always pray to Jesus to fill that hole that my Mum has left. I tell Him that not only do I need a spiritual Father, but now both my parents have gone, I also still need a physical realm parent, and I want you to be that person for me as well Jesus. And He fills it! You're in my prayers @turtletwo Lots of Love, Becky. X

Genuinely give God your entire life and have faith that He will be there for you and help you through all the problems you are having. But you can't do it half way. You have to give your heart to God 100%. You can not fool God He knows your heart.

  28. You are trying to please God By giving up certain sins and thinking that if you just work a little harder , you can make yourself worthy at some point in your life .Sounds logical enough , I know ......been there.....tried that. For your Salvation, God is not looking for those who excel at behavior modification. He will take care of all of that stuff once you have been saved.So.......are you saved ? If you are “ trying to be saved” you are not.One TRUSTS to be saved.Jesus gave us a promise ,revealed by Paul on how to be saved. It has nothing to do with you “ cleaning up your act” or working on your performance via will power and fear.Jesus said if you believe that He died for The forgiveness of ALL your sins and believe that He arose from the dead, you will be saved.Paul later strongly warned not to add to this Gospel Of Grace with your good works lest you cancel it out. Believe in that Gospel,That has the POWER to save and God will put His Spirit in you and He will change you from the inside out....it may or may not take time, according to God’s schedule, but when the changes come, they will be real.He will “ finish the job that HE started......IF you trust in Him.Concentrate on YOUR part- faith, and He do His part- He will TRANSFORM you.Paul said that is the only thing that matters in the end...the changed life.Accomplished by The Holy Spirit— not you.

  29. and having done so, the remainder of our walk is about believing. And progressively doing the WORK of God, the ONLY work He has assigned us....to believe. It's not about dying to self, it's about believing we ARE dead....crucified on His own cross with Him. Once belief is aligned with truth, then in that area we we have become like Him, and from that works WILL flow as naturally as water flows downhill. And they will not be our works, but work of eternal value done BY HIM, THROUGH us.

  32. To add to this post on Proverbs 7. Prov. 7:5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words. Prov. 7:21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. False doctrine is very appealing to the carnal side of men. That is the target of the fair speech. We notice that a false teacher does not differentiate a person who is living by the power of the flesh and one who lives by the power of the Spirit. The teaching is meant to appeal to the uncrucified...those that still seek advantage for themselves. These are susceptible to flattering words. We all know that God loves us...but this truth is used to extend to the part of us that is in rebellion to God. For many it is difficult to tell the difference between what is life giving and what eventually leads to death. The thing that we see over and over again is the way a lie will seek to flatter a person as they are. As if God loves us in our sin. But God is seeking to love us AWAY from our sin.We need to cultivate a good understanding of God's ways...and what His holiness means to us. There is more hidden messages in this chapter...for example...who is the "goodman" in the verse below? Prov. 7:19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

  33. Here is one that surprisingly few believers know. It brings 2 prophetic verses into one statement by Jesus as He hung on the cross. That statement is...אלי אלי למה סבכתני or in English transliteration "Eli Eli lama sabachthani" (Mat. 27:46) Eli Eli Lama sabachthani? refers to the opening words of Psalms 22:1 "My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me" There is a hidden word being used here that ties this statement to another word found in Gen. 22:13 The word "forsaken" has been replaced from "My God My God why have you forsaken Me?" (from Psalm 22:1) for what Jesus said on the cross which actually means... "My God My God why have you entangled Me?" (the word "entangled" coming from Gen. 22:13) So Jesus fuses these 2 ideas together to make up a new statement. When Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac...the angel said "God Himself will provide a sacrifice" and then a ram was seen caught in the thicket. The Hebrew for thicket (entanglement) is סבך which in noun form sounds like "sevach" but in verb form is "sabach" (as in sabachthani meaning "entangled Me" in the past tense). So then Jesus is claiming to be the sacrifice that God promised to Abraham. To prove this He wore a crown of thorns...as if He was caught Himself in an entanglement...just as the ram. So then 2 prophecies were fulfilled in one statement and one act...which requires such a depth of sovereignty to accomplish...that it bears meditating on!

  34. Yes it can be a harder day for many an individual especially those ladies that have had a miscarriage and or never been able to have children. Every waitress or church door greeter saying with kind intention Happy Mother's day. Our pastor who adopted two children after he and his wife had trouble having children, and then had a successful birthing too, took some time to be very kind to all the ladies, mentioning that some do not have such an easy time this day, as they have had losses of a child, or miscarriages, or are unable to have children. He did that very well. I will not try to repeat his really kind presentation, but I do appreciate that he did recognize and acknowledge the bit of sadness that the day may bring to some.

What hardens a heart . SIN DOES . And its why PAUL said , CHURCH you do all to exhort daily , lest any of you does become hardend through the deceitfulness OF SIN . WARN THEM ALL . Warn and remind daily , like the apostels did and others . A man in sin , WONT be comfortable with these continual warnings , They will either turn against you and accuse you of earning your salvation OR other harsh words , BUT , But at least some will hear and repent . WE are the servants to whom we obey , wheter of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness . Exhort them all and do it DAILY , DO IT DAILY and PRAY feverently that any in error will repent and be healed . BUT EXHORT DAILY and NEVER stop doing it no matter WHOSE vision this gets in the way of . FOR IT will get in the way of the vision of UNITY . BUT DO IT and NEVER STOP DOING IT . LET none have any rest in any mindset that is contrary to Christ . EXHORT daily . OH let us flood the place with constant reminders , both warnings and encouragments .

  40. When I think about the many forms of crime and cruelty against children today it truly breaks my heart. Jesus loved the little ones very much and had strong words for those who mistreat children. Matthew 18:1-7 1At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? 2And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. 6But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

I cannot HELP but shout praises and encourage others to shout praises to the LORD . if big big letters frighten you , then I will do my best to keep the letters small , just for you . But the only reason I make them large is the JOY of the LORD overjoys me . Also when I fear for some I cannot help but make the letters large . Its not a scream of anger or hate , ITS the JOY of the LORD , or at times the fear I have for some too . Now put those hands up and let us remember something . If we become a prisoner to what society or others deem , then we become a prisoner . THIS is how Free speech is shut down . And before those who hate my message do cheer , they better watch out , because if men can do this to me , if govts can do this to true christains , THEY will DO IT to any who opposes their will . WE living in days and times wherein we are being taught principals that will shut down FREEDOM and many realize this not . You seen me say more than once it was not an attack against you , YET you continue to still attack my joy in the LORD and My great encoruagemnts FOR YOU , not against you , BUT FOR YOU . Will we stifle the voices of the unborn too . Will we defend the wrong movtives , will we allow our voice to be taken from us . While I am neither conservative nor liberal , I must say the liberals GOT NO IDEA the trap they set For even themselves in the days ahead . IT wont stop with just silencing TRUTH , what is coming will turn on all in time . First against Christians like me , BUT man will be pitted against man and in those days , WHO GONNA speak up for the many who turned on the few . NONE WILL THE GOVT WILL HAVE ITS WAY . WE better stand united IN CHRIST and flee , PC , flee inclusiveness , flee the lies of men and societies gone wrong . And stand on CHRIST alone . For no matter if I die or live , I got all hope an all joy and as you can see, the words and laws of men cannot take my joy even though in time they will probably take my life . I GOT CHRIST , I GOT ALL HOPE I GOT ALL JOY . May I see your joy too and you just rejoice in CHIRST WITH ME .

  43. Sometimes we just have to just let go of what we see as unjust or other, as sometimes what we see of someone else may be of the minority in a majority grouping. At this point, pointing things that you see as unjust and even have proof of it being unjust is sometimes pointless in a majority grouping that do not see what you are seeing an with proof to back what you say up. So sometimes for peace sake, its just better to let it go, and let god take care of it, and continue to show loving kindness, as no christian is perfect, we all have room to grow, and most importantly, we all need to practice forgiveness, weather other christian do so or not, are selective to who they do it to or not, Christians who truly , and with sincerity of heart try to follow God know, know that we need to practice forgiveness, practice patience, and practice loving kindness despite not being understood even when we see something wrong happening right in front of us, that the majority don't seem to perceive.. I pray all those with sincerity of heart receive the warmth of God surrounding them close with His complete Love . Gods loves the sinner who has repented and turned his life over to Christ, and not selectively to a few but to ALL who seek Him with a true and pure heart, those, they are loved by Him. For He understands us all and our true intentions, and that's the most important thing about it all. To become a better christian, practicing forgiveness in all manner of hurt, is a stepping stone of growing closer to Him, Day by Day Amen. In Christ Jesus always; 1to3

  49. Leviticus 19:20-25 20 “‘If a man sleeps with a female slave who is promised to another man but who has not been ransomed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment. Yet they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed. 21 The man, however, must bring a ram to the entrance to the tent of meeting for a guilt offering to the Lord. 22 With the ram of the guilt offering the priest is to make atonement for him before the Lord for the sin he has committed, and his sin will be forgiven. 23 “‘When you enter the land and plant any kind of fruit tree, regard its fruit as forbidden For three years you are to consider it forbidden; it must not be eaten. 24 In the fourth year all its fruit will be holy, an offering of praise to the Lord. 25 But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way your harvest will be increased. I am the Lord your God.
