  1. Hi LadyKay, I think we've all felt like that at one time or another. This life is so turbulent that often we don't understand what is happening. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 I was once told not to go by my feelings, as our feelings are erratic, and change so quickly, but instead to go by fact. And the fact is, as promised to us in the Bible, that the Lord God is with us and He does hear us, and He knows all our problems. He also loves you dearly. One of the best ways I've found on getting closer to Him is to praise Him. It really does uplift your soul and bring you closer to Him. Even if it's just putting on a pair of headphones, and listening to some praise music. Close your eyes and just listen to the lyrics, and you'll find yourself joining in. I feel so much better in myself and much closer to Jesus after I've done that. I am also praying for you. Becky.

  2. I'm so glad that God is for us. God want's us to prosper in life and he makes it possible, all things are possible with God. Life without God is impossible. God created life. God is life therefore life can only exist in him. God makes our lives successful and this kind of success is eternal because of God in us. I am so happy to share the blessings of God with you. I want you to know that we receive victory as we hope in God. Our peace is in God. God makes this possible by his free grace and mercy to us because of his love for us and our belief in him. We love the Lord and others.

  7. In psalms, david often felt that he was abandoned and unheard by God. Yet he had faith in the Lord and praised Him anyway. A great example for us in times like this, when we feel He is distant. God hears you and He does care. Even in the midst of great trials, or even small trials, He is there and knows your concerns. Have faith in Him still.

  9. I could not say this any better. Thank you my dear sister in Christ for saying this. I totally agree.....when in doubt and discouragement I find PRAISE AND WORSHIP to be the best remedy to get out of it. It puts my focus on HIM and not on me. And yes, praise music helps me in doing this big time.May I suggest Paul Wilbur’s latest DVD with Joshua Aaron and Sarah Lieberman on it...called ROAR FROM ZION! PS I have not been faring well either of late when it comes to answered prayer...my daughter has been a mess for over 8 years which has had numerous unfavorable consequences I won’t go into.....but guess what? HE IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED! This too shall pass and an eternity of glory awaits me......and besides, I absolutely believe FATHER KNOWS BEST........ Love you Sister Kay. (((((Holy Hugs)))) going your way!

  10. I have a question! This question is in regards to the Caterpillars feelings just before he builds his cocoon, to become a butterfly. From what I understand, Caterpillars completely liquify during their transformation process. I wonder, do they know they are about to liquify completely before they turn into this beautiful butterfly? Do you think they are scared? Personally I would imagine they have a feeling of fortitude like they know what they must do, regardless of what they will go through to get there. I find it quite amazing that Caterpillars go through such an incredible metamorphosis and turn into beautiful butterfly's. If you are unfamiliar with the process of Caterpillar to Butterfly, here is a link explaining: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/caterpillar-butterfly-metamorphosis-explainer/ PRAISE GOD who provides such beautiful things for us!!

  12. 1. Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee; let the water and the blood, from thy wounded side which flowed, be of sin the double cure; save from wrath and make me pure. 2. Not the labors of my hands can fulfill thy law's commands; could my zeal no respite know, could my tears forever flow, all for sin could not atone; thou must save, and thou alone. 3. Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to the cross I cling; naked, come to thee for dress; helpless, look to thee for grace; foul, I to the fountain fly; wash me, Savior, or I die. 4. While I draw this fleeting breath, when mine eyes shall close in death, when I soar to worlds unknown, see thee on thy judgment throne, Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee. cleft definition: make a way through (something) forcefully, as if by splitting it apart. The significance of the gospel in the hymn Rock of Ages. Christ was “cleft” – split apart, apart from the Father, in order to make a way, forcefully! through sin. He made a hiding place for me, a way, for me to be found in Christ, and with the Father.

  17. Just because we don't feel something does not mean something is not really happening or something is not true. Our Lord is available and hears us even though it may seem he does not. I think everyone said something valuable to consider in this thread. I think God just wants us to trust him and believe him no matter what we are feeling or going through.

  24. Hi all, Here are some lovely verses of rest and peace. “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matt. 11:28-30 “And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Ex. 33:14 “…for he gives to his beloved sleep.” Ps. 127:2 “Be still, and know that I am God.” Ps. 46:10 “He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Is. 40:29-31 “In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Ps. 4:8 "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” Ps. 91:1 “Repent therefore, and turn back…that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord…” Acts 3:19-20 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. ...” Ps. 23:1-6 "Better is a handful of quietness than two hands full of toil and a striving after wind.” Ecc. 4:6 “From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.” Ps. 113:3 “A heart at peace gives life to the body…” Prov. 14:30 “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” Is. 26:3 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:6-7 “…the God of peace will be with you.” Phil. 4:9 “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” Is. 54:10 “The Lord gives strength to his people, the Lord blesses his people with peace.” Ps. 29:11 “For He Himself is our peace…” Eph. 2:14 “…the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.” Rom. 8:6 “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42 “The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you, the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Num. 6:24-26 (Citation: https://www.ibelieve.com/health-beauty/20-verses-of-rest-and-peace-for-your-summer.html?utm_source=iBelieve Daily Update&utm_campaign=iBelieve Daily Update&utm_medium=email&utm_content=2850945&bcid=5da31583941ac0436f866785e89f41c2&recip=547950175 )

  28. The first few seconds of waking up in the morning, can be difficult for a lot of us. The "flesh mind" wants to run through a list of things that it is we have to do that day. It also wants to run through all the things that happened the day before. Allowing our "flesh mind" to just carry on and do this whilst we're waking up can cause us anxiety, low mood, and to just want to turn over and go back to sleep. I try to counteract this, and it works, by consciously stopping myself from thinking like this, and even though I'm a bit groggy first thing, I try to keep it simple. So, I say the Lord's prayer to myself before I get out of bed. Therefore I've thought of and spoken to Jesus before I've done anything that day. Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

  29. Oh Amen to that @angels4u One of the things I think to myself when I wake up in a morning is that I'm a day closer to seeing and being with Jesus. Be it either Him calling me Home, or Him returning. One or the other, we're a day closer to that day when we are with Him for eternity. And, life is going fast. Each year seems to go quicker and quicker. We will be there with Him before we know it! Becky.

  30. Hi, I hope I’m not speaking out of line or do I mean to cause any offense. But I’d like to speak kinda on the bold side, please forgive if it does upset the peace of Christ in your heart; As a Christian we always live under a open heaven. This is why Christ died, to open the way into the Holy of Holy’s. Seeing how this is a accomplished fact, something that can never be undone. Seeing the truth of this, the issue is always on our side. Seeing the truth of the above. Eyes on self, or eyes on something other than Christ is the only cause of a believer not being in fellowship with God. (Sin is the same as self, so they are all listed together.) Having said the above. There is one more thing that can cause a believer to not feel/sense their living relationship with Christ, as the deeper it should be growing daily. And that is if God is digging deeper. Or as it can be said pealing back, or off, another layer of self. Which in turn will cause the believer such a increase of joy and a deeper understanding and relationship with Jesus, that causes the heart to do back flips with the tasting of His love in a new, deeper and awesome way. This growing process is hard and can be very painful at times, but know He has promised to perfect those that are willing to commit their ways unto Him in all things, and trust His love for the heart that would be willing to die to all of themselves so they can have all of Him. Hope the above words did not offend, only meant to encourage and point to Christ, so an increase of Him, can and would be experienced in life. Blessings, Much love in Christ, Not me

  32. During the day I often have a Praise Song / Hymn going round in my mind, without me even consciously thinking about it. I then go and listen to that song later on in the day. Here is one that I often listen to. In Christ Alone. In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song; This Cornerstone, this solid Ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in All, Here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone! – who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe. This gift of love and righteousness, Scorned by the ones He came to save: Till on that cross as Jesus died, The wrath of God was satisfied – For every sin on Him was laid; Here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain: Then bursting forth in glorious day Up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me, For I am His and He is mine – Bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, This is the power of Christ in me; From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man, Can ever pluck me from His hand: Till He returns or calls me home, Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.

  33. What we are thinking can be the prayer that God is hearing. "rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4) So . . . are we being gentle and quiet in love, so we can hear God and submit to Him? "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15) This is a basic of Christianity, how we all are "called in one body" > all of us, then > to submit to how God personally rules each of us in His peace. So, this is included in how to pray and how to always be ready to hear God. Prayer is for hearing, not only being heard > "swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath" (in James 1:19-20)

  35. You'll be in the harp section then, I'm thinking, Rebecca Pickles. Rev 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. Rev 14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: Rev 15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

  36. This one was written in 1890. Frances Jane van Alstyne (née Crosby; March 24, 1820 – February 12, 1915), more commonly known as Fanny Crosby, was an American mission worker (rescue missions), poet, lyricist, and composer. She was one of the most prolific hymnists in history, writing more than 8,000 hymns and gospel songs, with more than 100 million copies printed, despite being blind from shortly after birth. He Hideth My Soul by Fanny Crosby A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, A wonderful Savior to me; He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock, Where rivers of pleasure I see. Refrain: He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock, That shadows a dry, thirsty land; He hideth my life in the depths of His love, And covers me there with His hand, And covers me there with His hand. A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, He taketh my burden away, He holdeth me up and I shall not be moved, He giveth me strength as my day. With numberless blessings each moment He crowns, And filled with His fullness divine, I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God! For such a Redeemer as mine. When clothed with His brightness transported I rise To meet Him in clouds of the sky, His perfect salvation, His wonderful love, I’ll shout with the millions on high. And it shall come to pass, while My glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with My hand until I have passed by. (Exodus 33:22)

  45. Actually the baptism of fire is a purging of our souls from the iniquities and impurities that defile us so that we might become holy vessels of honour for the Lord. Either now or at judgment. (actually both if we go to God for this) Our God is a consuming fire. (This is not a bad thing) Our God abides in the light and all who come to Him must be purged from impurities. Like the coal of fire that touched the lips of Isaiah so that he might speak pure words. And our own judgment whereby we shall all be salted with fire. The fire will reveal our works..of what kind they are. Mark 9:49 For everyone will be salted with fire. 1 Cor. 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

  46. Humanity has several diseases so to speak... religion (oh how we love religious things) the pomp and circumstance... and pride (wanting to have some role in our own salvation) arrogance (exclusivizing our faith or our group over others) retro pride (feeling like we are obligated to pay back a debt we can never repay... even if the Bible clearly states this is evidence we are not truly saved). These things are why God gave the Law of Moses in the first place! To establish the futility of them. Seek not justice but rather mercy. Mercy, Lord Jesus God!

  47. Understand, I am in now way advocating licentiousness. God forbid! Our sins have no bearing on our eternal disposition once we are forgiven in Christ. But the world is filled with consequences for our sins and for sins committed by other people that we pay for. Oh yeah, you will pay and pay and pay in this life for the sins of all (but we are also spared much by the Grace of God even in this life). None of us have truly had the judgment we DESERVE. Not really. And we have blessings we do NOT deserve. Commit adultery and lose your spouse your family etc. Cut off your nose, it ain't growin' back. What I have shared is about our walk with Christ pointing out that rather than being obsessed with trying to keep the Law we should rather focus and specialize on the few commands of the New Testament (believe in Jesus Christ and participate in the evangelization of the lost as a personal ministry to God).

  49. I say Jesus is coming for His elect just as it says on the page. That is us. That is the assertion of Jesus, it is right on the page. His elect. You do realize He is the one stating it, right? His elect. We ARE redeemed and we ARE the elect, His elect. It doesn't matter when somebody wrote something, He made all of His followers, those born again, His elect at the cross. All else is a diversion and word game to avoid what is plainly seen by commentators, disciples and apostles. They recognized, but do you? You just keep repeating the same thing, and rejecting scriptures you don't like. The verse in Isaiah has nothing to do with the second coming of Jesus, you are simply trying to build something on finding related word and ignore the context of Matt. 24. And I have shown scripture that shows otherwise regarding the pre trib teaching but you ignore it.
