Hi everyone. I've been on a little tour of other Christian communities lately. It's been an interesting experience and heartbreaking in ways. Some of the teachings being peddled are so far removed from the Bible that it's absolutely baffling. One place was getting spammed with pornography. I spoke briefly with a person who was trying to get a better grasp on the nature of God and said she barely read the Bible. I know we have disagreements here and sometimes people are confused but the level of it I saw in some of the places I went to was so much worse. If that's the state so many people professing Christianity are in then it's really distressing. Anyway we've got a good thing going here at Worthy! Just wanted to share my experience.

No, Michael is just another created being and not another name for the Christ, the Word made flesh. Christ is called the Commander and Chief of the Lord's armies in the old testament. This is not the archangel Michael. He is occasionally called the Messenger (Angel) of the Lord, not meaning a created angel. Again it is not the archangel Michael. Calling Jesus "Michael" is Jehovah Witness doctrine.

So......I hear this said nearly every time there is a post about food for the poor or food stamps or something along that line. Someone brings up "the Bible says If you don't work, you shouldn't eat." Yet Jesus never says this when dealing with the poor. All Jesus says about dealing with the poor and needy is that we should give. No where do I see where Jesus said make the poor or hungry person do a job for you before you feed them. Matthew 25:35 says For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. The Old Testament talks about the poor and hungry as well. Isaiah 58:7 says, Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help. But the only place I see where it says "If you do not work, you shouldn't eat" is from Paul. From what I can understand Paul seems to have been saying this to the the Church of The Thessalonians at the time. The next verse seems to explain why Paul said this to the Church of Thessalonians. That verse, 2 Thessalonians 3:11 says; We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. So my thoughts having study these verse. Paul was not addressing the poor and hungry. But seems to be addressing busybodies who are running around among the Church of The Thessalonians, causing disruption and putting their noses where they don't belong instead of working. There for. From that I come to the conclusion that when we are talking about the call we have as Christians to care for the poor and hungry of this country. Or talking about food assistance programs for low income and the needy. Someone stating 2 Thessalonians 3:10 is miss using and taking the verse out of its rightful meaning. Perhaps in order to justify the cutting of food programs or it maybe that they just don't know any better. Anywho, I do not wish to argue on this. This is really just my own thoughts on 2 Thessalonians 3:10. I welcome your feed though. Good day and God Bless.

Psalms 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. D .L. Moody said, "Those who say they will forgive but can't forget, bury the hatchet, but they leave the handle out for immediate use." My wife and I don't argue much, but we've had our moments, just like anyone else. And when the bickering begins, the remembering begins. Have you ever noticed that when we get upset about something, we begin hashing up all these things that have happened in the past? Things we thought were long forgiven and forgotten suddenly flood our minds and stir up feelings of anger and bitterness. Before we know it, our enemy has us ensnared in a web of frustration and unforgiveness! The same is true when we experience failure in our day to day lives. The devil knows how to bring up all the memories of past failures which make it exceedingly difficult for us to forgive ourselves and get free! Satan would love nothing more than to keep us bound up in unforgiveness -- to bring up those bad memories and torment us with them. He knows how successfully these things keep us from moving forward for the Lord! But we need to recognize his tactics and loose ourselves! When we repent and confess the Lord truly forgives us. Our sins are cast as far as the East is from the West. He removes them from His record loving us with a love undeserved. We need to do the same for ourselves, our loved ones and even our worst enemies. The Lord wants us to get free so that we can help others get free. We can't help anyone else when we're all bound up ourselves! Let's cast our painful memories onto the cross of Christ and ask Him to help us truly forgive and forget. All the theophanies in the Old Testament are very different than connecting it to Michael the archangel. To connect the two ... is a far stretch and bordering saying that Jesus is a "created" being, as the angels are. Do you realize there is a VAST difference between the two? JWs and Mormonism ... they get the issue of who Yeshua (Jesus) is WRONG ... if your foundation is crooked ... then your house will be slanted ... this is why it's crucial to get who Jesus is ABSOLUTELY correct STRAIGHT from the Word. You say we must consider the opinions of others, ...the Word teaches opinions are heresy, ...this false teaching that the Church MUST worship on Saturday and those that don't have taken the Mark of the Beast is NOT teaching from the Holy Spirit, ...just because 170 years ago Miller was proved wrong about his predicting the day of the Rapture and then after this enormous embarrassing heresy, mademoiselle White came up with the brilliant idea, an even greater heresy, ...that the TRUE church MUST worship on Saturday is NOT the TRUTH! First of all, I have seen the videos and they are very well made. Actually one of our members, a young Christian, made them and posted them. He was so excited in trying to do something to help reach young people and others. Now I'm glad those celebrities were from their hearts thanking the Lord for their good success! They did not simply thank God but gave mini testimonies of faith in Christ as Savior. If you saw Denzel Washington speak at a college, giving an address to the students....he told them of his faith and that he never would have the success he has without the Lord in his life! I have seen Denzel Washington some years ago telling a talk show host that he has read the Bible three times through already (as of that date). His way of giving a witness. Also, you probably don't realize it, but some of these actors never do a dirty movie. About them giving to the poor, etc (you didn't think they do that)....well, our works of charity should be private. Most don't want to blab about their giving. Actually, I know someone who runs a big pro-life organization....I learned from them that Jim Caviezel and Patricia Heaton are big supporters of their pro-life group. Another Christian celebrity gave $250,000 for hurricane relief. Although many in Hollywood and the music field are not Christians.....there are some Christians, especially in Country music. So why don't we support them when they want to give glory to God? Isn't that a very good thing? I think it is.

Some people put too much significance in biblical numerology. The words are good enough for me.

As I get older I see more and more evil Everywhere I Go from what's on TV to what's on the news from what's at stores from how women dress to cause a man to sin in his heart. Jesus himself was tempted by Satan that if he bowed to him he would give him all the kingdoms of the world. Do the angels that were cast out of Heaven all those years ago are they the ones who shaped the world to what it is now so corrupt in pure and unbalanced

I guess that's why I'm so fat..... I worked too hard for years...

Paul was writing to Christians and the church giving voluntarily out of their own means to help people they know. If someone was truly in need, help. If someone didn't really need help, don't enable them. We are now in a system where the government takes one's money (under threat of loss of property or prison) giving it to total strangers some of whom are truly needy temporarily, some of whom are disabled or permanently needy, some of whom become stuck in a cycle of poverty due to the programs, and some of whom are scamming the system. I think the common factors are to help those who really need it and stop allowing scamming the system, enabling the lazy, and permanently enslaving people in poverty. If we knew the people getting our money, we could use our own judgement and decide who really needs help. Since we don't, we are stuck with casting votes for people who are more concerned with getting re-elected who may or may not be able to make changes to a huge bureaucratic system.

2 Thess 3:10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this, that if anyone would not work, neither should he eat. 11 For we hear that there are some who walk disorderly among you, not working at all, but being busybodies. 12 Now we command and exhort those who are such, by our Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness and eat their own bread.

And I bet you know why . WHO do we think is really behind this move . Satan is . When emotions become the center , HOW on earth can one preach a gospel that offends any longer . How can one correct error and sin when that hurts feelngs . SATAN KNOWS what he is doing . He creates an all inclusive world so that he is set up and worshipped above all and the gospel and Christ rejected . WELL . WE are BC and not PC . oh that means BIBLICALLY CORRECT not POLITICALLY CORRECT . FOR no matter if the entire world did not believe what I say next , STILL it is true . EVERY man and woman ever born WILL STAND BEFORE CHRIST on the day of judgment . And there are only TWO GROUPS . GOATS and SHEEP .

When I was in school as a child I knew that if I got into trouble with my teacher then I would also be in trouble when I got home NOW however we have to tip toe around everything and you cannot tell parents that the child is naughty/disruptive/lacks discipline etc as it may " cause offence " Even 10 years ago I remember the rule going out that ALL school reports have to be positive and not negative at all to help build self esteem !!! Yeah right all that did was let the parents ( those that cared ) get blindsided when the little darling was suspended or expelled or failed exams because as far as they knew all was wonderful with them Is this helping the child ? NO is it helping the parents ? NO is it helping society as a whole ? BIG FAT NO but it is what is expected and if you do not subscribe to that attitude somehow YOU are in the wrong ! Last year I caught a child ringing my doorbell and banging on the glass and then running away . His mother was in the park and I asked her to let the child know it was not acceptable ….. I got a mouth full of abuse from both the parent and the child ! Was I right to tell them ? YES I think I was . Did it do any good ? doubt it all it did was make the mother more abusive and reinforce the behaviour of the child Would I do it again ? YES If the parent cant accept the misdeeds of the child and do something about it then at least when he gets to prison I can say " I did what I could "

@ShinyGospelShoes In each theophany, I cited, you can read how it changes in Scripture to angel-LORD to simply LORD! It's not rocket science. But you cannot connect these theophanies to Michael. This is your leap ... where there's no Scriptural foundation. It's a dangerous position to create something that isn't clear in Scripture ... then teach on it. You are making a great many assumptions ... first you're assuming that Michael is not "created". So you have to come up with a Bible verse that says that Michael was co-existent with the Lord ... there are none. You have to make the "leap" ... that Michael and Jesus are one and the same ... another big "leap". And have you ever considered why you believe this is necessary? Seriously, what is the reason do you suppose that you feel the need to suggest that Michael is Jesus? Have you thought about that? So let me ask you this simple question ... why do you feel compelled to prove that Michael is Jesus?

I think you mean online communities? Yes, that is sad they are so confused. I used to help moderate at another site. We had good, sound Bible teaching. I often posted devotionals or teachings by Charles Spurgeon and other sound, old time pastors. It wasn't a busy site but the members we had that were fairly active were loving, sincere Christians...sound in faith. Every now and then someone would come needing help, and we would help them. But basically the site was slow. The owner didn't do anything to help promote the site and he never came. Later I found out he didn't even upgrade security for the site. So after posting for 13 years there as a moderator, the site was hacked and destroyed. But hopefully guests were helped by what they read there, even if they didn't participate.

My first job was working on a farm.....about 50 of us.I can vouch that there was much sinning in that way of life.There were also some Christians working there though.Later I got into retailing......I was a clerk in a store that was an early version of Wal-Mart.I can vouch that there was a lot of sinning taking place In that type of work- yet, there were a few Christians there also.My final job before I retired was in a chemical plant- we made the phenol in your Campho-Pheniqe and made the acetone that all you lovely women use in your fingernail polish remover( you’re welcome ) and all you hardy men use in your paint removers. Once again, wouldn’t you know it—- lots of sinners in that industry, yet a few Christians too. It’s probably obvious by now.......my point is that there is sin in all lines of work and business.Hollywood is just another business,and its workers are just that in the end.Glamorized and Overpaid workers whose opinions for some reason are way over valued , yet nevertheless they are just workers .I bet the percentages of unsaved vs. Christians in TinselTown dont vary that much from the groups I picked corn, sold spark plugs, or produced Acetone with.Those that “ enter by the narrow gate are few” no matter what the line of work. Nothing unique about Hollywood other than the fact that the average farmer doesn’t get on the cover of People magazine to announce his faith to the world.

Bible knowledge without encounter leads to religion. Bible knowledge with encounter leads to more fascination with Jesus. For me, I prefer to stay with the church even if its not perfect. Besides we are all in the process of growing up.

@marvelloustime is right. We are human beings, and sometimes awkward things happen between us. Personalities are different so it's best to pray and ask the LORD for wisdom and discernment in how to or even if you should attempt to address it. When I'm in an awkward situation with people, I usually pray and ask the LORD to untangle the misunderstanding and give me an opportunity to resolve the issue. Then I wait and watch . . . and it's amazing how often the LORD will work things in a way that brings resolution in a very natural but unexpected way. This actually happened to me just a couple of days ago.

We might be amiss if we did not “ give the devil his due”....... his lie in the garden was so appealing to men, he has never had to change it- “ Knowing right from wrong will make you like God!” God gave the Law so people would KNOW right from wrong.He proved Satan to be a liar..... ....Turns out “ Knowing” aint exactly the same as “ doing”. So 6000 years after the Garden,people still think they can be like God ( worthy of Heaven) by doing right and avoiding wrong .The unsaved man says, “ I ain’t perfect, but I never commit serious sins- I’m good enough to get to Heaven” . The “ saved” man says, “ Sure, Jesus Saves ......but once you know “ that” ya gotta keep the Commandments”. Pride was Satan’s Downfall....it continues to damn others just as it damned Him.

Jesus is "the Angel (messenger) of the LORD (the Father)" (as already cited, and many more texts can be given) uncreated and eternal Son of the Father, equal to the Father, submitted to the will of His Father. The Son is not a created being of the angelic hosts. He is the Creator of the created angelic hosts (ie, Gabriel, Lucifer, Cherub, Seraphim, etc), and is the Ruler (Prince, Arch) over them. He is the one who is the express image of the person of the Father, He is Who is as God the Father is.

Ha, to the bunkers to the bunkers. -No, I am just enjoying something I should have done many decades ago. I am out of the heavily populated areas, I am without the background din of city traffic and bad air. I am away from tensions that I did not realize existed and were affecting me. I am at rest with my bride. And I have lost a full twenty pounds without much trying. No tv at all! I read I study I pray and I praise. I feel very much refreshed and my mind is though rested free of tensions of life quite ready to begin a venture of some sort.

THIS IS WHAT WILL BE HIT NEXT . IN fact its already began in some churches . Teaching hogwash like all religins are serving the SAME GOD and that we don't need to evangelize JESUS . WHAT A LIE . TALK about THE END TIME DELUSION. WHEN satan can deceive so called churches RIGHT OFF the VERY FOUNDATION , THAT IS ONE MEAN DECEPTOIN . YET its what pope francis and others have began doing . WE BETTER all never once say that any other religion saves . ONLY JESUS DOES . WE MUST HOLD that CONFINDENCE STEADFAST TO THE END .

Friend, you are mistakenly lumping Christian celebrities in with secular celebrities. There are many Christian celebrities who won't do "dirty" movies. Also, Jim Caviezel who played Christ in Passion of the Christ has been passed up for alot of work because of his refusal to do dirty movies. Patricia Heaton also refuses to do such movies and the Lord has blessed her with a good career in comedy.....two hit series and now a new one in September. There are others like Tom Hanks who won't do dirty movies. An older actor, Patrick McGoohan, wouldn't even kiss a woman in a movie or TV show. So please don't lump Christians in with the secular actors, etc.

I have no idea what the conversation is amongst you all . But I just wanted to say , THANK YOU . The barnabas stuff is not scripture and I have read many of the so called early church fathers , NOPE , don't follow them .

I want to make something clear . In genesis we find allegories . BUT still it was literal . Look at paul . HE uses an allegory about the two sons . Ishmael and issac . YET still that literally occurred . There was a real fruit on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil . God had told them . These trees were literal trees . I am worried and deeply concerned about a teaching I heard . Its called eight day creation . Yall , DO not believe that for a second . God created adam and eve on the sixth day . Then he reseted on the seventh day . THEN the next line is just saying HOW he created them on the sixth day . There is a seriously messed up teaching going around . It claims that GOD did indeed rest on the seventh day . THEN on the eight he created adam and eve . That GOD had created all these other people on the sixth day . THIS is so untrue . YALL lets not heed fables . I am worried when I found out about this eight day creation thing .

Yes the Bible still uses figures of speech. Especially in the book of Revelation. But with some studying with a reputable teacher you can understand that.

Yes. You have understood correctly. Michael is just another name/designation/title for the Son (Jesus), just as Immanuel, or David, or Adam, etc is. For when I said: "... He is the one who is the express image of the person of the Father, He is Who is as God the Father is.", this is a reference to Hebrews 1:3, as well as Rev. 12:7; see also Exo. 15:11; 1 Kin. 8:23; Psa. 71:19; see also Deut. 33:26; 2 Chro. 6:14; Job 36:22; Psa. 35:10, 86:8, 89:8, 113:5; Jer. 10:6-7; Mic. 7:18.

Agreed. I’m going to bow out of this argument brother. I think you have been given significant truth on this matter. Anymore bickering on my end will just develop into foolish arguments. I’ll keep track of it but will not be replying anymore. God bless.

You know what is so sad . GOD had never told ADAM and EVE to NOT EAT OF THE TREE OF LIFE , HE HAD ONLY SAID TO NOT EAT OF ONE TREE . After they ate , GOD MADE Sure they could NOT EAT of that TREE of LIFE , lest they live in that sin state life forever . HE SHUT IT DOWN . But notice it was only AFTER they ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil . GOOD NEWS . I am usually pretty careful about what I say to others, probably because I tend to try to see things from their point of view when discussing things. When I do hurt others' feelings I apologize and try to make amends. I know now, after becoming more prayerful, that I can talk with Jesus about it and that certainly gives the security of his grace, love, and faithfulness.

I think you’ll get a lot of replies to this as I think we’ve probably all been in that position. We’re never going to get it right every time, even when we have the best of intentions. I would say that when experiencing that painful situation, remember it’s what Jesus thinks of you and not other people. Jesus, part of the Trinity of God, is through whom all things were created. Jesus always existed. Michael is a created being. Jesus rebuked the devil. Michael dared not rebuke the devil.

Sorry, but seems like you are using Barnabas as scripture. In the review of it, it definitely is not in unity with scripture. I never see in scripture where the apostles ever "kept" the first day of the week as their worship day.

I totally agree. He seems to be a dream come true, a dream I never thought COULD come true.. I gave up hope of it coming true when Obama won not just once but twice.. I thought OMG! Our country is GONE! And so I totally agree that Trump is divine intervention.

The first election in which I voted was 1972. I've said, until recently, that people often (if not usually) don't vote "for" a candidate, but vote against one. It's what I did in 2016. I held my nose and cast my vote "for" Trump, but it was really a vote against Hillary. However, I also tell people the only time I ever truly voted "for" a candidate was for Reagan in 1980. But notice I don't include 1984. For trump it is reversed. I voted against Hillary in 2016, but I'll be voting FOR trump in 2020. When you see what he has actually DONE, I see him as the best president in my lifetime. And when I see the response to his presidency by the left, I honestly believe his election was due to divine intervention.
