  1. Three interesting public figures. I'm sitting here trying to think of one. I've even Googled "most admired public figures" and read the top 10 list of one and the top 100 list of another. I can't pick even just one that I have any remote interest in. It's all politicians and celebrities [which I've never understood what we are supposed to be celebrating about them.] I'm sorry.....I just can't think of one. But if I do, I'll come back and list him or her.

In fact, relish goes quite good on dogs. Something I used to enjoy a lot when I was younger was Coney Dogs. Anyone like those? I don't know who makes good ones these days. You gotta admit it's cool that they've been having a discussion about us. @Wayne222Thanks, buddy.

  9. Hi, God has compassion for each of us that is fully sufficient to get each of us past our own traumas, whether physical or spiritual, real or imagined. I see hope for everyone, everyone. I do not see laments that must cripple and limit anyone for life. I have cared for the mentally retarded, the terribly physically crippled, and the very sick onto death. Compassion is not thinking there is no hope for a person. That is not even sympathy. It is fallacious thinking. God knows the very weakest of us, and in Him there is hope that is certain.

  10. You don't have to watch shows that you don't like. It is like with anything else. You don't have to toss out the TV because there are shows on it you don't like. You just turn the channel. As for me, I mostly watch documentaries on Netflix, reruns of Star Trek, and a few British TV shows that I like. Any shows I find offence with, I just don't watch. After all the world dose not revolve around me and for my likes only. Also, each person in the house can have their own Netflix on the same account. You can set it up with parental controls where shows that are rated TV-MA"( mature audiences) do not show up on an account set up for your child. And also a pass code can be set on anything that is rated TV-MA, or whatever rate limit you want to use. It is in the settings. We have that set up on ours. I have to type in the pass code to watch anything TV-MA. So no. I see no need for me to toss out Netflix just because they have shows I may not like. That is my take on all of this.

  11. You're exactly right, they're people just like you and I that are being lead astray, they need to hear the saving Grace and free gift of Salvation through Christ alone. I don't want to spend a lot of time on this subject but, currently Catholicism is the worlds largest religion with 1.6 billion followers, closely followed by Islam with 1.4 billion. Have you noticed everything that is prophetically lining up for a one world religious system as described in the book of Revelation? With the current Pope Francis (a Jesuit) and the Vatican taking charge at full steam? A one world government (political system) and one world religious system (church / state) is lining up and taking shape as we speak; just as in the days of what Constantine did in the third century. The RCC has always called itself 'the one true church'. You know the definition of the word 'ecumenicism' and its role for a one world religion. The universal church (Catholicism) has drawn back some of the protester (Protestant) denominations back under its umbrella. Pope Francis and the Vatican has been fervently at work with a movement for better cooperation and understanding between all the worlds religions. He has made many bizarre statements such as; we all worship the same god with different names and so much more. He has signed 'covenant' agreements with sects of Islam for better cooperation, unity and understanding. I'm not going to write a book on it, but I see the handwriting on the wall and the pieces falling into place, and it's speeding up. If the False Profit or his precursor were alive and well today, what would they be doing preparing the way? Just my personal thoughts... P.S. This Pope is a socialist to the core, only concerned with ecumenicism, global warming and the disparity between the have's and have not's. Of all I've heard coming out of his mouth, not one peep about soul saving or Salvation.

So while the Father knows we have need of daily physical food, we also need daily spiritual food, that of drawing near to our God and being infused with Life from Him. That is our true strength for the day and our daily bread.

  15. 1 Corinthians 15:55-58 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. Yesterday, my wife and I attended a funeral in Jerusalem -- which is never an easy thing. In the midst of the mourning, the realization dawned (once again) that this life is utterly fleeting ... a vapor in the wind ... and these frail human bodies in which we dwell are mortal dust. We are living in the land of the dead and dying, and only those of us who truly know and are known by the Messiah, upon our death, will enter the land of the truly living! Mourning is the only honest and human response to the death of loved ones, and it quickens the profound realization just how precious life is. Death, and the funerals which attend it, also inspire the opportunity for serious introspection and for taking account of how we are living our lives in this world. Values, priorities, and building upon the foundation of Christ, ought to occupy our minds when we encounter the stark reality that someone else has just gone to his or her reward. When I think of funerals, I'm reminded of D.L. Moody and his attempt to write his first funeral message as a young pastor. He searched and searched the Gospels, and came to the realization that every funeral service Yeshua (Jesus) attended... He resurrected the dead body. Yeshua (Jesus) was the ultimate funeral party crasher! Praise God... He said, "I am the resurrection and the life ..." [John 11:25] Death is the ultimate wake-up call to remind us of the great message we carry ... Messiah has come, He raises the dead, and we will give explicit account for our deeds, either when we pass to the next world or when He returns. If He dwells within us, and we allow His resurrection life to inspire our words and guide our actions, everyone we encounter will have the opportunity to know and experience that He truly is "the Resurrection and the Life"! 16. Jacob's dream about a ladder had two parts - the ladder itself, and God's promise about a seed. Both parts describe one another, and both parts are a prophecy about Jesus. Jesus was the ladder (John 1:50-51). Jesus was also the seed. Paul points out in Galatians 3:16 that this seed of Abraham (and Isaac and Jacob) was only one individual, namely, Christ. But the plot thickens. In Galatians 3:26-29 Paul reveals a startling insight: if we are united with Christ, then we are part of that one-and-only seed. Although the seed is singular, it is composed of many parts. Since the promised seed and Jacob's ladder both describe one another, this means that Jacob's ladder is also composed of many parts. The ladder represents Jesus, both head and body. This union of Christ and believers is the means by which God pours out His heavenly blessings on the world. How does union with Christ affect your efforts to bless the world?

  17. What is your style and what are the more important lessons you have learnt while sharing the Gospel with people? "And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”" Matthew (4:19) Fishermen learn their craft with time and patience. They make mistakes and learn from them. Through obedience, I believe the Lord wants to make us better fishermen. So I'm curious to hear your experiences.

  20. I agree. We simply don't know. It can be interesting to speculate, but it can also be a great distraction to some. Its enough to trust the Lord and watch and listen. I spent many years with this stuff as world events unfolded and men swore--yes, this is it! His coming is nigh. :-) I wonder if I should share a dream that speaks to these things. A very clear and quite exact message that still was faithful to what the Lord said when He was asked.

  21. There are heroes, lots and lots of everyday heroes that do overcome their own serious traumas. The ones I have encountered and come to know have suffered so deeply as for me to wonder how have they even lived, breathed, through it all. Yet they do, and they are turned about to God by the Holy Spirit same as a child reaching an age of accountability without so much as a pimple to discourage them might do. Oh what heroes they are to me, what encouragement they are. And their families and friends that stick it all out with them, Wow! God enlightens and God carries many though the fire. That He is with us in the fire is real! Psalm 46 is real. 23. Yes. If it is lasting, yes. At some point yesterday needs be put back in the past. It is just yesterday, and not carry it forward to today and then set it up as excuse or reason for failure to thrive tomorrow. Bad stuff, terrible stuff happening to us is sad of course, but it is great error to name our problems, give them status as syndromes and then hang onto them as reason for failure tomorrow. Your father was a drunk okay so what mine too. Your mother beat you, so what mine too. A priest abused me so what me too. Do we all go about carrying our placard "Damaged Goods"? I am not damaged goods by anything anyone else does. I am only damaged if I let myself be so that I do not have to face me and what I am on my own. Life is hard so suck it up snowflake is crude maybe rude even, but it is also so. Life is hard and then you die. You and I can live it out in complaint that it has not been fair I suppose, but I'd rather it not be ( fair) , for if it is to be fair then I deserve eternal punishment and separation from my creator. Instead of fair I have mercy from God. Wow what a deal, how can I be going about in a depression about being a victim? God loves me.

  27. Some do Renee---some, not all. If you have been hurt in the past, I am deeply sorry. When Israel committed adultery against God, His pain must have been incomprehensible. Thank God He did not stop loving her. When Jesus was betrayed by Judas, do you remember what he said right before Judas gave him a kiss to point the arresting soldiers to who Jesus was? He said, "Friend, do what you came for." Jesus, up until the very second he was betrayed, identified Judas as friend---even though he knew Judas would be the one to bring him to the cross. It is very hard sometimes to forgive others when their offenses toward us are great.

  28. Like it or not, that is what you are teaching is replacement theology. The following are the three possible options, Replacement theology, Covenant theology or dispensationalism. Answer: Replacement theology (also known as supersessionism) essentially teaches that the church has replaced Israel in God’s plan. Adherents of replacement theology believe the Jews are no longer God’s chosen people, and God does not have specific future plans for the nation of Israel. Among the different views of the relationship between the church and Israel are the church has replaced Israel (replacement theology), the church is an expansion of Israel (covenant theology), or the church is completely different and distinct from Israel (dispensationalism/premillennialism). https://www.gotquestions.org/replacement-theology.html

  29. Raising a hand here, both my sister and I were abused. That can be freely admitted here and now. My father had been strict and loving, but when alcohol entered into the family portrait, everything spun out of control. My mother got the worst end of the physical aspect, my sister and I had more than our fair share. My dad once drunk, became a monster after his nightly 12 pack of Olympia beer. Thank God, he left home three years later and the abuse stopped. The after effects of post traumatic stress disorder remains t0 this day. Other unrelated events occurred that added to it. That's another topic that I'll opt out at this point.

  32. The Greek readings of both Matt 6:11 and Luke 11:3 are both well attested in antiquity. The various modern edited Greek texts including TR, WH, NA, UBS, and others are all essentially identical for each verse. τον αρτον ημων τον επιουσιον δος ημιν σημερον (Matt 6:11 TR1550) τον αρτον ημων τον επιουσιον διδου ημιν το καθ ημεραν (Luke 11:3 TR1550) Note that αρτος (bread) directly appears in each of them. The phrase "give us daily" or "give us each day" is slightly different the end of each phrase. The phrase τον επιουσιον is an adjective associated with τον αρτον ημων (our bread). The entire phrase τον αρτον ημων τον επιουσιον clearly means "our epiousion bread" where we unfortunately do not have a clear definition of what this means. Overall, translators are in agreement both verses basically mean "give us our epiousion bread each day" however there is no known definitive meaning for επιουσιος. The word επιουσιος seems to be unique to the NT and does not appear anywhere else in ancient Greek writings except quotations and paraphrases in early Christian writings. As far as I can tell, the best guess is that someone in the early church coined a Greek work to translate an Aramaic word. Without the use of the word in other contexts in other writings, it is difficult to directly ascertain what it meant. This means that scholars and translators must take their best guess as to the intended meaning. There seem to be two different ways translators approach the phrase τον επιουσιον. The first goes back at least as far as the Latin Vulgate which basically treats it as a synonym for daily as do some of the church fathers. This seems to have influenced translations for centuries as well as the memorized form of the Lord's Prayer. The other is to use its most apparent literal meaning which is probably something like necessary or essential or sufficient. As far as I can tell, translational inertia and the common usage of "give us this day our daily bread" in the Lord's Prayer seems to drive the choice of most English translators. A more literal reading of "give us our necessary bread every day" seems to be becoming more common among translators. The translation notes in the NetBible summarize this (https://netbible.org/bible/Matthew+6): Matt 6:11 in the NetBible is "Give us today our daily bread" Or “Give us bread today for the coming day,” or “Give us today the bread we need for today.” and the translation note is: the term ἐπιούσιος (epiousios) does not occur outside of early Christian literature (other occurrences are in Luke 11:3 and Didache 8:2), so its meaning is difficult to determine. Various suggestions include “daily,” “the coming day,” and “for existence.” See BDAG 376-77 s.v.; L&N 67:183, 206.

No, nor tv or cable tv, most of the time no cell phone, nothing but us, some neighbors and few of them, (most are leaving already for the deeper South) and the birds the bears and the chipmunks. When we do bump into humans twenty miles into town, they say, "Have a blessed day", and mean it. Gee I love it. God is so good, so good to us. Plus He has already led us to a new home church body. I now have three that I can call home and truly be at home anytime with the individual saints in Christ Jesus, the church. I hadn't been around the city for a while and went to a life celebration of a friend. I was dumbfounded how many saints in Christ came up to me to get caught up with me and allowed me to learn of their present doings situations and prayer and praises. Though we had all lost a close friend we all had opportunity to be close all in the name of our Lord and savior. Such a sweet time in a time of sweet times even in the sorrows. I find myself in awe, awe of the grace and mercy of God to us. Sorry I digress, but it has been such a grand time. it makes me want to gain ground in the race, learn more deeply what I do know, and discover so much more that I am not yet aware of that is of God and is for me, to my benefit in worship of Him.

  38. Perhaps I missed it in my 1611 KJV Bible? Paying big bucks to a church for indulgences to get out of purgatory faster. Confessing my sins to a priest to forgive my sins and what I should do for repentance. Sacrificing Jesus daily (the Eucharist) because once wasn't enough, and the bread and wine are literal flesh and blood, not in remembrance. Last rites, praying to dead Saints for intercession and the mother of Jesus; bowing before, kissing the hand of the vicar of Christ; the Vatican holy father. There's only one that is Holy; in fact, that's the only attribute of God that is mentioned three times for emphasis, in two different places [Isa. 6:3, Rev. 4:8]. For centuries not allowing the commoner to own their own Bible. Reading "mass" in Latin so no one would understand and giving their own doctrine and interpretation. I won't even mention those millions of heretic real Christian's tortured and slaughtered in the name of the Roman Catholic Church. The Vatican is richer than many nations and are in need of nothing. Seems I read something like that in the book of Revelation? Catholicism is a religion, a religion is man's terms to reach God with the traditions of men. Christianity is not a religion; it's a faith in Jesus Christ and He is whom He says He is, and will do what He said He will do, when He said He would do it. I'm by no means Catholic bashing; I just don't find their doctrines, belief's and practices in my Bible. That begs the question: Both can not be right and acceptable to the Lord...

  39. This is one of those "assumptions" that has been so ingrained it's very difficult to even discuss other possibilities. I'm not likely to try to open up a discussion on this any time soon ....but... there DOES exist quite a lot of Biblical evidence that procreation will still remain as part of human experience even after the creation of the new heavens and new earth. And in my personal opinion, a lot of reason to believe it's such a fundamental part of humanity and God's intention in general, that it MUST be a continued part of human existence for all of God's plan to be fulfilled. The conclusion that heavenly beings are genderless and don't procreate is also an assumption. Nowhere I am aware of does the Bible say that.

  41. Not to a Jew. Not that I know of anyway. I worked with two congregations, one reformed one orthodox to start a Jewish cemetery as each congregation is required to do. They considered me gentile and insisted that all us gentiles take training in their needs for burial ceremony purposes. This atheist gentile had one heck of a time convincing my Roman Catholic boss/owners to part with land to create a Jewish cemetery within our own cemetery. At the end of two years of negotiations a contract was signed and cemetery created. One of the largest hurdles was negotiating with the grounds crews to get them to agree to work on Sundays for Sunday burials, something we had never done before. Had to settle for triple overtime wages being paid to them. Over one year into the negotiation the orthodox congregation heard about it and wanted in, but had their own demands different from the reformed group. We had conversations about separation from the gentiles - did they need a wall of a certain height, or was a road, or sidewalk of sufficient width good enough? Who was going to pay for the land used to make the separation? Stuff like that was my life for two years, all the while working with our staff of funeral directors and sales people on Jewish customs and needs. Again an example of people worrying about their own rites and obedience and worthiness. None of which saves anyone at all. Of course by God's doing alone I am not Roman Catholic, Jewish, Protestant, nor Gentile. I am born again into the body of Christ Jesus by God alone, a Christian yes, but a sinner saved by grace from God solely.

  42. i, Let me get out of my system a giant Augh! There I feel better now. I am surprised at how often this kind of discussion goes from Roman Catholic vs Protestant to Baptist vs Roman Catholic. Seems much like the Jews think all non Jews are Gentiles, Roman Catholics think of protestants as Baptists. I suggest that clouds the thinking and causes a cross talk where neither party really hears the other in such a discussion. So let me state I am not Baptist. I do not think of myself as a protesting Roman Catholic, I am not protestant nor protesting anything at all. It seems to me that the statement believe in faith in God alone plus whatever is then added including sacraments for salvation defeats the first part of the statement. The differences between Roman Catholicism and Christianity is numerous, but boils down to the same error that hurts the body of Christ and ends up in endless debates on message boards and conferences over Calvin as well as once saved always saved. To me it is a question of am I saved by any merit of my own or not? Through Bible text reading and by prayer over the word of God and by experience I suggest that I have done absolutely nothing to merit salvation. Yet I am totally secure in Christ Jesus, my salvation, my eternal life forward is secure. It has been secured by Jesus alone, made known to me by the Holy Spirit alone, and will be honored by God the Father because of the willing sacrifice made by Jesus alone to cover the sin of those given to Him by His Father. All the trappings of religious men, though well meaning perhaps, cannot save me nor take my salvation away! So whether Roman, Catholic Eastern Orthodox, any of a number of mainline so called Protestant groups, or just a man in the woods or jungle not knowing of any of these groups, it is always God alone that has foreknown, predestined, and has assured salvation to each that are to be saved to eternal life with Him and saved from destruction by Him. It is God that is sovereign and not any body of rules makers for religion trying even their best to perform religiously to gain some special merit before God.

  47. Well, before Adam fell he was so pure and innocent God could come presence Himself with him ...no problems. But he had the potential to fall, and eventually did. He fell because he had a free will to choose with, and if you think about it, possessing a free will will ALWAYS mean there is a potential to use it to sin. Adam fell and his fellowship with God was cut off....his spirit died and God cannot be in the presence of sin could no longer join him in the Garden and fellowship with him. God's very nature demands that He grant free will because He is love. He desires to be "chosen" by us, because we recognize Him for who He is and His love for us, and CHOOSE to love Him back. Love that is not a free-will offering has no value to God who is love. I honestly believe this will be the wisdom revealed for all the ages, how He could come up with a way to fully honor and preserve free will for all eternity, in an environment where sin and all it's horrors has been so thoroughly demonstrated (and recorded in His "books") that none will ever WANT to leave Him again and choose the lordship of another...or self. I believe free will demands by it's very nature the potential to sin, i just don't think we'll ever want to again. If there is only one choice, free will is not relevant at all. It has no valid context to give it meaning. But by the time we get through this test I think we'll love Him so much, and see Him (Father) for exactly Who He is, the idea of "leaving" Him by sinning will just be laughable Fact is Jesus could have sinned if He'd chosen to. He took a horrific "test" and was tempted many times, in all the ways we are. I am quite sure Father's foreknowledge knew He would pass the test, but nevertheless it was a real test....and praise Him for passing it.

  48. I am not sure about much that is 'common' eschatology. It is also NOT proven that Revelation was written after AD 68. There are some texts that erroneously misquote or mistakenly quote the Roman Emperor's reign as reported by some Church fathers. There are many questions that modern theory, THEORY, may well be wrong about. Prophesy is rarely understood until after the events unfold. Too much is preached as fact, when it is only supposition. Some things seem most definite as future, and some might be 'types' of things already happened as a foretaste of things to come. It is hard to be rock-solid sure. However, I am sure that Yeshua/Jesus will come again - the Second Coming. I am sure there will be a huge fight on earth as well as in heaven. Apart from that, I just watch world events as they unfold and do NOT teach stuff this is mere conjecture.

  49. 6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:6-8) These are Jesus' last words before ascending to heaven. What can we infer from this. The Apostles knew that the restoration of those days was not the prophesied one with Idumeans as kings and the priestly class having murdered the Messiah. Jesus response did not deny that future restoration, but said it was not for them to know when which is to say, not in their lifetime. Then He shows them the arrival of the Holy Ghost At Pentecost and how the gospel is to be preached to the Jew first, and then to the world. Then the two angels that were beside them said to the Apostles: Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. (Acts 1:11) Has Jesus come again like this scripture states yet? Jesus also said the following to Israel. 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. (Matthew 23:37-39) This is not speaking of the triumphal entry into Jerusalem, which occurred before these words were spoken, but is yet to come. The Book of revelation, which is written after 70 Ad also speaks of the restoration of Israel, with 144000 who are separated of the nation of Israel. They Are clearly called JEWS, not Christians, of the 12 tribes of Israel. Not to mention the two witnesses who are killed in Jerusalem. 4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. (Rev 7:4) 1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. (Rev 14:1) 8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. (Rev. 11:8) So were you just not familiar with these verses? or do you have some explanation for them? Remember, God does not lie, he made all those promises in the Old testament to Israel, and to David, which are yet to be fulfilled, and are confirmed by Jesus own words in Acts 1, and Jesus is the Word of God. For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. (Romans 11:25) 8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. (Zech. 12:8-10) Who is speaking these words? God, He is the "me" in verse 10... When does this happen? In a day when the LORD defends the inhabitants of Jerusalem... was this 70 Ad? NOOOOOO WAY. This is yet to come.
