  1. Shalom nobleseed, I can see your point. However, I also see another principle at work in the Scripture - that it will not open itself to certain people. It remains veiled to some, as well as the truth, even to some believers. A blindness, if you will, like the parables of the Messiah which were designed to reach certain people and avoid others, in a crowd of followers. In the days of the Messiah, thousands followed Him, but not His ways. Only a select few followed His ways - the disciples (which was more than just the 12 apostles). In the same way, today we have many "followers" of Messiah, singing His praises to seeking miracles, blessings and healings from afar - but there heart may not be right. I believe that depending on the follower's heart, selfish goals, a wilful ignorance - the Scripture will not reveal it's treasures. Instead it will seem tough, laborious and confusing . Beyond this, if their motives are wrong, the Scripture can also seem to twist and contort to them, and back up their self-serving theories, with a verse here and there, solidifying their errors. A scary principle, but it ought to be acknowledged. So yes, there is only a few good teachers out there but even if there were many, there would still be much senselessness and incorrect interpretations out there - showing the wheat from the chaff. Love & Shalom

  2. I spent the last 14 or so months getting treatment for cancer. Chemo is miserable. She may experience "chemo brain" which means her mind will be dulled and she wont think too clearly. Be patient with her. She may feel awful, sicker than she has ever been before. She may feel humiliated by how weak and sick she is, by the side effects and by how much help she needs. She may get distressed by the changes in her body. Losing my hair was the easy part for me, compared to 50 pounds of water weight in my legs, mouth sores, changes in taste so that all food and drink was revolting. She may feel like she is a burden since she cant be a caregiver but instead needs to be cared for herself. Be patient. Be kind. Be supportive. I remember crying the first time I got a card from someone. I was feeling isolated at the time and the card showed me someone cared. Let her see that you care. Not that she is a burden. She will need all the love she can get. Cancer is an emotional and spiritual battle as much as it is a physical battle.

  3. I do not think that anyone here is saying child abuse is not a sin. While the Bible clearly points out the sin of abuse along with a number of other sins. The Bible also clearly points out that sin will be forgiven if the sinner turns to Christ and repents of their sin. This has been pointed out to you by several people on here through many Bible verses. You are telling people they need to study their Bible. Perhaps you need to do so as well. Because it seems to me you have missed the important parts about repentance and the forgiveness of sins. It is very damaging to some of the Christian faith to go around proclaiming certain people can not be forgiven. But not only is it damaging, it is also a lie. Much like the lies that satan has told many newly born Christians. Reminding them of their past sins. Telling them that they are not forgiven. Well God's word has something to say about that. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! CORINTHIANS 5:17 Anyway. That is all I have to say about this. If you want to keep believing what you are saying, even after the truth as been shown to you. That is your choice to do so.

  4. Just doesn't fit with the leading of Scripture Rom 5:20-21 20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. NKJV You have elevated the sin greater than the grace of God...

  5. Off the top of my head, it would seem to me that Satan is always trying to tempt us to sin, and when we yield to his temptation, he then attacks us for committing that sin. One might conclude that it's best to ignore his temptations, and if we fail to do that, we should repent and ignore his attacks. His attacks never last long, it is my experience. We can thank Jesus for that.

  6. It is so refreshing to hear brand new men and women getting saved. The newness in their voice, their mannerisms, and their actions is like a child who first learns to walk. What freedom! A newly converted Scottish man was praying: "Such a lovely Chap. You have changed my whole life." Another was a cannibal from an African tribe. They had no word for love in their vocabulary. "What is the greatest thing to consider"? Livingston asked. "Umboi," the chief responded with zeal. Umboi was the smoked meat of a man's arm. It was the closet idea to them about what love is. Livingston told him it was this kind of understanding of Christ that believers had. Jesus said, "Eat my flesh and drink my blood." The chief was saved, and soon, his whole tribe. Later, they understood. It is with such newness that Jesus wants us to believe. Everyday is a new day in Christ. It is so beautiful.

  8. I was the childhood victim of homosexual molestation by a "family friend." Took me a very long time to get over all the evil it did to my head, my heart, my sexuality. Took me more years to get over the fact that the man who violated me could even BE saved ever. But I have gotten over it all. Praise God. If I catch anyone abusing a child (especially sexually) I will be seeking the Lord's forgiveness for murder. So I don't downplay the heinousness of abusing children. But we must all ask ourselves, are we not all contributors at least to the abuse of children? We look the other way as society devolves further and further into unbridled sexual perversion and public display. Little kids are seeing this / being exposed to this. Before being molested, I was exposed to extremely little sexual expression out in the world. It was 5 decades ago... when Christianity made a huge influential impact on everybody. Even unbelievers did not do certain things because they knew they could not get away with it in that society. Ah, but we've opened the door to everyone and everything these days. How about atheism / humanism in our schools? That's child abuse of the worst kind. Tell them we are all here by accident and there is no Creator God who lovingly chose to put us here. Then they end up in hell because schools taught them hell doesn't exist, God doesn't exist, and Christians participate in this ultimate abuse for our conformity and fear to put a stop to this crap. UNBELIEF in the Lord Jesus Christ is the ONLY sin God WILL NOT forgive. 1 John 5:16 (AV) 16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. John 3:16–18 (AV) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

They came because there was a chance he would fail. The world thrives on it. Newspapers don't make money on Boy Scout badges; they make it on murder, violence, and chaos. Jhn 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.

  14. This is clear denial of the power of the blood. Our Lord’s atonement reaches back to the past to pay for the sins of saints and sinners before him. And your sins which were all yet future, his blood Paid for and continues to Atone for in his Advocacy and propitiation. Rom 3:25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— Rom 3:26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

  15. Not Christ sacrifice, but the willful sin of other sacrifices. We know our Lord sacrifice covers not only ours who believe, but even the sins of the world. 1Jn 2:2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. God in his mercy is not even counting the worlds sin against them because of the atonement of Christ. His command to them is simply believe and live or perish apart from Christ and face him for your sins. 2Co 5:19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

  16. Where does scripture say that? If we sin we have an Advocate in Jesus himself. It doesn’t specify willful or not, it simply says sin. 1Jn 2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. A Christian does not lose salvation when he sins. What type of non willful sins are you talking about? It’s absolutely ludicrous to think that’s the only sins that Christ forgives. Or that you commit.

When God saved me, it was through a dare, and if it had not been an instant later, I would have come to my own end. God knows the heart. He knows the perfect time. He knows us through and through.

  21. Acts 17:10-11 10As soon as night had fallen, the brothers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true. The Word of God in Scripture is our authority and our pivot point. Just because something is spoken or written with a tone of authority; just because we think the person who wrote or spoke it is “important;" just because that person is our friend; or just because someone said “God revealed it to me,” does not automatically mean it is Truth. Truth is found in the Scripture, the Word of God. Since the Word of God was made flesh, we now have the New Testament as well as the Old Testament (Tanakh). Let’s check ourselves for gullibility in tending to simply swallow whole everything we hear or read. Let’s check ourselves for pride in assuming that our reasonings or calculations are fact rather than possibility. Let's be Bereans, examining the Scriptures to see if what we are hearing and reading is true. May God bless us with wisdom and discernment as we grow in faith.

  22. Hi PreciousPearl, We are to draw near to God in worship, through His Word and especially in prayer. I would stay away from anyone who judges your spiritual state and tries to dissuade you from praying to our Lord. He is the ONLY one you can trust and rely on. All peoples Christian and non Christian will let each other down at some point or time, because we are not perfect like our Lord. We each have our own experiences, personalities and emotions that effect the advice given to anyone (I include myself here as well). Some of my most well meaning advice I've given to family and friends has sometimes not gone over well because I was drawing from what "I" thought whereas God can direct us through prayer.

  24. There have been similar threads in the past such as this one where someone did not want certain individuals to receive forgiveness from God. They feel that God will overlook their own sins and not judge them. That only murder, rape or physical abuse should be judged; and everything else should be excused. People have lost sight of the fact that sins such as ridiculing others, name calling is in fact abusing others. No ifs, ands, or buts about it; ridiculing, and name calling are sinful, and very hurtful because they assassinate a person's character and reputation. Ever notice that both are always committed when a person is angry and wants the other to hurt. It is an attack on the other person. But yet, there are a lot of folks that think that such sins should be overlooked because overall, they see themselves as basically good people. They didn't commit such heinous crimes. The story of Jonah touch's on this very subject of a person not wanting others to receive forgiveness of sins. The Ninevites had a history of having committed atrocities against the Israelite's. And because of that, Jonah had a strong dislike for them. Jonah tried to prevent the Ninevites from repenting and receiving God's forgiveness. In the story of Jonah, God told Jonah that He had compassion and desired all people's to repent and turn to him, not just the Israelites. As we read the stories in the Old Testament, we can see that the Israelites were alike in that ALL men are sinful and have a calloused heart. ALL have a sinful and calloused heart. God has a love and compassion that supersedes the human heart and mind. Isaiah 64: 6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like a polluted garment; we all wither like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away like the wind. Jesus came for the very reason that ALL men are sinful and are in need of a savior.

Before that I was dabbling in same-sex relationships which carried on in my adult years so I was having issues of lust and same sex attraction. I took some counciling but was unable to complete the course because of financial issues so I heavily relied on my Lord and Saviour to help me in this situation. I must say that it's been an interesting journey thus far. I continue to grow in the Lord and rely on him every day. Thanks be to Jesus it gets easier each day and I am happy to say that I no longer practise this lifestyle, praises to Jesus! Also I am a Psychiatric Survivor and am on medication but again i rely on the Lord for healing and believe him for that healing. That is my testimony. Thank you for allowing me to share. Blessings!

  29. In the biblical account of Genesis, it claim's that creation was originally perfect. There was no death or decay until Adam & Even disobeyed God's command (Do not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil) However they did, and from that point they died in sin, which has now infected all nature on earth. Now, what I can't understand is this. How did these two people end up causing the earth and the universe around them to fall into death and decay? For example: Why do sun's that exist in other solar systems, in other galaxies decay? How did the whole universe end up falling into a state of death and decay, because of what two people decided in the garden of Eden that was unconnected to the rest of the universe.

  30. I will add more devotionals from this classic book every couple of days or so. Hope you enjoy them. Author: Warren Wiersbe Source: Prayer, Praise and Promises Scripture Reference Psalms 5:1-12 James 1:5 Romans 8:26 Hebrews 5:7 Romans 12:19 Request, Reason and Response in the Midst of Trials Read Psalm 5:1-l2 What do you do in difficult situations? Many of the psalms were written during difficult, often painful, experiences. In Psalm 5 we find two sequences concerning trials. In the first sequence (vv. 1-7), David is experiencing difficulty and makes his request--"hear me." (v. 1-3). Meditation here means "sighing, murmuring, groaning"--a quiet expression of feelings. When our burden is beyond expression, all we can do is sigh and moan before the Lord. The Spirit hears our groanings and intercedes for us (Rom. 8:26). David's meditation turns to a cry (v. 2; Heb. 5:7). Prayer is not always a quiet, joyful conversation with God. Sometimes it is a battle against the principalities arrayed against us. David's reason for making this request is the holiness of God (vv. 4-6). He cried to God because He is holy and stands against the wicked and boastful. Although He will judge the wicked, God does not always judge sin immediately. David's response is worship (v. 7), individual and personal. In the second sequence, David makes another request--"lead me" (v. 8). He wants God's way, which is the righteous way. In the midst of difficulty, what we need most is wisdom to know the will of God (James 1:5). Notice that David asks to be led, not delivered. God has a straight way through every difficulty that will lead us to victory. His reason this time is the wickedness of man (vv. 9,10). Destruction means "a yawning, open abyss." An open tomb pictures defilement and death. Flattery is not communication; it is manipulation. Absalom fell by his own counsel. David did nothing. He let God do it all (Rom. 12:19). David's response (vv. 11,12) is rejoicing in faith, love and hope. Joy comes from trusting in and loving the Lord. This kind of joy comes from God's work on the inside, not from circumstances on the outside. The psalmist tells us to expect difficulty. We shouldn't run from our trials but bring to God our requests, our reasons and our response. You need never be paralyzed by your difficulties. You have the privilege of praying to a loving, understanding Father, who knows your condition. He guides you through difficulty to victory. When your faith, hope and love are fixed on the Lord, you can face any difficulty or problem, and God will give you joy and peace within. _________________________ This devotional is freely distributed by Back To The Bible.

  32. Mark 7:13 (AV) 13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. We are warned in the three major divisions of scripture NOT to add to or take away from the Word / Commands of God: The LAW: Deuteronomy 4:2 (AV) 2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deuteronomy 12:32 (AV) 32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. The WRITINGS: Proverbs 30:5–6 (AV) 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. 6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. The PROPHETS: Revelation 22:18–19 (AV) 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Yet so much of what we are taught is according to the traditions of men. For one thing, this is how and why cults can easily cast doubts on these traditions and lead many astray. The Great Commission is that of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the believer's commission (and the charter of the Church): Matthew 28:18–20 (AV) 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Acts 1:8 (AV) 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

It was understood that whoever was caught doing this received a severe beating. A number of us decided to pay the price for the privilege of preaching, so we accepted their terms. It was a deal: we preached and they beat us. We were happy preaching; they were happy beating us—so everyone was happy. The following scene happened more times than I can remember. A brother was preaching to the other prisoners when the guards suddenly burst in, surprising him halfway through a phrase. They hauled him down the corridor to their “beating room.” After what seemed an endless beating, they brought him back and threw him—bloody and bruised—on the prison floor. Slowly, he picked up his battered body, painfully straightened his clothing and said, “Now, brethren, where did I leave off when I was interrupted?” He continued his gospel message! I have seen beautiful things!" Wurmbrand, Richard. Tortured for Christ The beauty of the cross is like a beautiful flower that when crushed knows only how to leave its sweet fragrance.

  39. The fact that the evidence indicates gene duplication is a common way that new genes form is sufficient to refute the argument that it could not happen. Since we directly observe evolution, including the mutation of new alleles and gene duplication, and since genetic data, transitional fossils, and biochemistry all support evolution and common descent, the onus is on the skeptic to prove it can't happen.

  41. In our Sunday School class we just discussed this very thing this morning. Here's a consideration... The Lord created the angels as part of His family. For His good pleasure and purpose, He also wanted a human family. Ephesians 1:4 (KJV) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5. Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, Jesus created everything there is. The Lord created Adam & Eve, they walked with God and had no sin until Satan's temptation and the fall. In God's infinite wisdom and foreknowledge, He knows whom will accept and receive the free gift of Salvation offered through the sacrifice, death, burial and Resurrection of His Son. The Lord is not willing that any should perish: 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

  43. I've had people my age disagree, but I don't think we have to disprove evolution simply because it was never proven. I must have been among the last students in HS and collage to be taught evolution is a theory and concrete proof was never found. The theory has many holes in it, or missing links. I learned this in the late 60's & early 70's. The fact is the more advanced science becomes the more missing links we find. We Christians know what's going on. 1. The idea of evolution is used to deny God (and to claim sin is just fine). 2. At this point, 2019, if the scientific community was to admit that evolution is not a fact, hundreds of thousands of people will be fired, some of whom have PhD's; and then millions or billions of dollars will be lost. Every museum of natural history will need major renovations along with millions of books, CD's, DVD's etc. will have to be trashed & remade. And since the atheists run the world this lie goes on and on. How can you disprove something that was never proven in the first place? There's even ample evidence to prove evolution wasn't proven, but the people in power, either squelch it or ignore it. However, with God's help you young folks may prove evolution is a failed theory and always was. It is not a fact nor was it ever a fact.

  44. I have been telling this Truth for years....in another Forum Group, year’s ago, I mentioned that Paul was a Brilliant man, but he got it wrong when he claimed to be “Chief Of Sinners”.I posted there, as I have here that it was time for Paul to “ step aside , there’s a new kid in town”. Of course, shallow thinkers there,as their cohorts here ,were outraged that anybody would say anything negative about Paul. They missed the point entirely. As usual. Paul did things that were unspeakable, but at least he “ thought” he was doing the right thing.Terrible things that I did were wrong and I “ knew” they were wrong. That is why I don’t make my claim to be “ controversial “ or “ cute”. Passing Through’s curiosity has mirrored my own thinking— why don’t others feel this way? It has been said “The closer you get to God — The farther away from Him you see yourself” ( there’s another insight that the shallow thinkers will scratch their heads over and criticise ) The meeting point between God and man is the Conviction of sin— a painful, but vital beginning to the Christian Walk. Why look for a Savior if you don’t see the need for one? I think many people here have not really “ met” God , much less “ know” Him .I think people that are not contrite, those who have not seen that they are least in the running for Paul’s self-given title of“Chief Of Sinners” have an identity problem that needs to be addressed. As I have mentioned before.....They have yet to have their “ Woe is Me” Moment—- the moment that all True Believers share.

  46. NobleSeed, I take it that you have some unstated reason for posting this whole thread, and the others you posted at about the same time. It may be that you are in great pain because of things that have happened to you. No one can undo those things. The world promises peace by following a course of action based on the world's belief system. The Bible promises peace by following a course of action based on God's belief system. The two courses of action stand in contrast to each other. I face a dilemma when posting in this thread. Do I try to talk to a person in pain with a focus on acknowledging and affirming their pain? Or do I try to point the person to a path that leads to peace, but requires contradicting the beliefs that the person in pain has come to believe are the path away from pain? I don't know what to say. So I say a prayer. Love to you. May Jesus draw you to a path to Joy as he did for others posting in this thread.

Just because we personally consider a sin to be exceptionally evil and we do not want those who have offended in a particular way to be forgiven, We must be guided by the Word of God and what He has revealed, We need to have faith / trust in the judgement of God not in our own feelings and assessments... Child abuse is not blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and thus can be forgiven.. His will be done

  49. To hurt a child is horribly evil, yes. But according to Matthew 12, blaspheming the Holy Spirit is the only unforgivable sin. That comes straight from the mouth of Christ. Jesus was sinless, so we know He wasn't lying.
