  1. This is the best and well run Christian forum I've ever seen and been a member of, bar none. I too wonder sometimes as to why certain threads are moderated and/or deleted that appeared "to me" nothing got out of hand. From what I've seen, all the moderators do an excellent job of following the terms of service and enforcing them. Whether we agree with the TOS or not , they're there for a good reason. Ever noticed what happens to a forum that is not well regulated and enforced? Our moderators are not on a personal power trip or status seeking. I liken them to the police that watch and protect us from infractions, follow the law, and protect us from dangers [yeah I know, not the best comparison]. They volunteer to do it without compensation or benefits, on our behalf, to make this forum productive, informative and enjoyable. Just like our police departments whom stand between us and harm, both seldom get the respect and "thank you's" they richly deserve. I myself appreciate their hard work, abundant time put in and their efforts to keep this great Christian forum from running out of control. Working behind the scenes, our moderators seldom get noticed or appreciated for all they do. Thank you moderators! Oops... I neglected to mention the founder and creator of this forum George, my bad! Thank you George for making this forum possible and all that you do too!

  2. Romans 12:1-2 tell us I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Be not conformed to this world - a strong request I'd say. Yet, in the past decade or so that church has been doing just that. They use what people in the world like to attract them into church. Just in worship alone we now can find fog machines, light shows, big screen monitors, rock music, rap music, and the list goes on. Does this go against what Paul wrote? Personally, I say yes it does, but the argument that people make is that God can and will use anything He desires to bring people to Him. It's as if they are telling me that God will allow His body to go against scripture if it draws people in. I highly doubt that the Holy Spirit needs rock music to convict anyone of sin, though it may be the sin found in rock music that He is confronting them with. Yet, the argument of rock and roll style music being used in church worship services is a topic that continues to be discussed with no true answer as scripture does not speak of using drums or electronic equipment. Though drums had been around for centuries, electronics have not. Then again, neither are cars, telephones, airplanes, etc. As far as secular rock and roll music, I have left most of this behind me as their message does not coincide with scripture. The question I ask myself is, who am I trying to be, a well rounded person in this world or Christ like? For me, and I speak only of myself here, I was a heavy drug user who used music to enhance the affects of the drugs I took, so when a certain song I use to listen to a lot comes on in the background I am brought back in my memory to the days when I cherished that song, as if I was reliving my drug use days over again. For me, rock and roll has to be left behind, just like certain movies I once enjoyed. For me, these changes are all part of maturing in Him.

  3. You would be surprised by the number of hours the team puts in here. It's not just the board admins, but the chat admins and the elusive watchmen, which are around but without a title these days. Behind the scenes is the moderation forum where many hours of discussion take place before actions become a result of certain people and posts. It takes a lot to be kicked off this site due to the heart of this group, always ready to give someone another chance, or 100 chances. Many hours are also put into personal communication with members trying to explain why what they did or said was wrong, the patience they have comes straight from God. You are correct, there are no other sites like this one. A person can feel pretty safe here, though they will need thick skin every now and then as some people get pretty judgmental. For those who like a heated debate, CARM.ORG is a good site for that as it is designed as an apologetic and research ministry. There is a soapbox debate forum here, rarely used these days, but Worthy is more of a place where someone should feel comfortable asking biblical questions, every day questions, seeking prayer or guidance/mentor-ship.

  4. Hey Trace - we have not had much in lines of a discussion, but allow me to encourage you to stick around. Take a break if need be, but don't close the door behind you. I've been here many years and there will always be those judgmental people telling everyone that they are not true Christians if they don't agree with them because they have the correct answer and everyone who disagrees does not. That is their pride and arrogance shining through their words, trying to do what the Holy Spirit was sent to do, which is to teach us the truth, convicting us when we are wrong, and encouraging us to be more like Jesus --- not like another member here or anywhere else. I know it's hard to ignore them. It makes no difference if they are right or not because how they post does not reflect Jesus as it is not done in love, but in prideful arrogant manner, demeaning the person they are posting to. The flesh is a hard obstacle to overcome, allowing the old man to die. Anyway, I have not seen a time where there was not someone like that. I know I was when I first got here, but as I matured in Christ I realized the truth and depth of Colossians 4:6 ... Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Some have not learnt that yet. They are more like a bull in a glass shop.

  5. I don’t mean to pick apart your post but I have to disagree with just a couple of points you made. First, I would in no way compare online moderators to the police. There is zero comparison. Second, not only was my Grandpa a Chicago cop, my husband comes from a family of cops and firefighters and they would disagree that they don’t get respect and thank you’s. If you read books written by cops, you’d be surprised at how many free meals and gifts they have to turn down because it’s against policy to accept it. People love cops and firefighters. The press has tried to pit certain groups of people and communities against the police to sell stories, but I don’t believe that represents how our country as a whole feels about the majority of cops.

  6. A Poem I wrote- Oct 31st Child's Play?? Where's the atmosphere of fear On this unholy 'holiday'? While the church turns a blind eye And pretends it's child's play? Satan and his minions laugh At the flippancy expressed, As the church believes a lie And his schemes go unaddressed. Who's the mastermind behind This dark time of Hell-oween, When it's in the name of 'fun' So much wickedness is seen? The grotesque and the bizarre Get exalted every year; Yet the cuter costumes counter And distract away from fear. The author of confusion Does that thing he does so well; For when he appears angelic The mixed messages prevail. Is the candy so inviting? Is the 'innocence' so sweet? Can we do it for God's glory? (What the world calls 'Trick or Treat") The occult becomes so active. It's a time to watch and pray; But the 'ostrich head is in the sand' Within the church this day. May the ones whose eyes are opened Do their best to stand above All the compromised excuses. May we "speak the truth in love." If we don't stand against evil now, while we still have freedom... what will we do later when we don't? I love you guys... but I firmly believe in being a God pleaser, rather than a man pleaser. "For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God?" Galatians 1:10 "not by way of eye service, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart." Ephesians 6:6 "whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31 My policy in life is: If I can't do it for God's glory... I just don't want to do it.

  8. This will most likely be my last post in Worthy. I want to thank everyone for their prayers, support, and for welcoming me into your community. Thanks to this community, I was able to come to terms with my "religious fatigue." What wears me out is the concept of what is a "true" Christian? That adjective really fits well into contemporary cancel-culture schools of thought. It becomes a blanket statement that cancels another believer's relationship to God. There are core beliefs shared by all Christians: that Jesus was the Son of the one and only God, crucified as a sacrificial lamb to pay a blood atonement for our sins, risen from the dead, and ascended into Heaven to be with the Father, etc. Not having a fundamental belief in Christ certainly would call one's "Christianity" into question. But, for Christians who believe in Christ, they have accepted "the truth." Pilate asked Jesus, "What is the truth?" 37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. "Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice." A true Christian simply is one who has heard the calling to Christ's salvation through the grace of our Creator. When I joined the forum, I said that I was just a normal Christian. I believe that any Christian who professes that Jesus is Lord and Savior is a true Christian. We may disagree about understanding, interpretation, once saved always saved, and even go so far as to question Paul or Biblical inerrancy without denying "the truth" in any way. "The truth" is Christ. We each hear His voice differently, but we know it is His voice. Judging other Christians as "true" or not, according to our own understanding, leads to division and to people leaving our communities.

  9. Okay let me take this more seriously then my last replay. One rock/heavy metal song dose not represent all rock/heavy. It is just like not every country song is about drinking and hanging out in the bars.(and I have heard some questionable country songs) You have to pick and choice what you listen too. Every one is different.

  10. I've attended many concerts. Classical, gospel, jazz, pop, rock & roll, new wave/alternative, country western, and Christian contemporary. There are more active groupies who are female than male. Both are prone to the influences and listen to their particular choice of styles. Anything with lyrics has a message - good, not so good, and down right evil. We need to be careful of what we digest when it comes to musical tastes.

  11. Very well stated, BB. We are under the New Covenant now....the law has been written in our hearts. The Holy Spirit helps us to live a godly life. As you have said, now we don't do things out of fear, but out of love.

  14. I also had laser surgery for cataracts and it was very successful. It occurred about a year after I joined Worthy, and I remember I had problems reading my Bible back then. I needed glasses for astigmatism and myopia. Afterwards I only needed them for reading. Praise God! It sounds scary but it was a breeze!. And I was awake the whole time. Who would have thunk! Our God is faithful.

  15. Hi Gentle-Warrior, You are a tad presumptuous & even cheeky. We need not assume people do not know something if we haven`t asked them. The Godhead is not a mish mash, but equal, of the same mind, and in unity. However they are three separate entities, known as - Father, Son & Holy Spirit. When they operate there is a hierarchy - the Father initiates, the Son administers, & the Holy Spirit energises. Now I have asked you - The LORD (Father) said to my Lord, (Jesus) "Sit at my right hand till I make your enemies your footstool." (Ps. 110: 1) Has that happened? Meaning, where do you see the nations having been brought to the Lord Jesus` feet by the Father? Marilyn.

  16. That was very effective in my opinion. As mentioned by other one, he was either deranged or an addict of some sort. You spoke with authority, and could well have had angelic intervention behind or beside you at that very moment. Either way, the Lord did protect you with His power and by His Spirit. Glad things turned out well for you in this instance.

  17. So simple a child could understand it .....They are not “ smart enough” to add works, repentance, blah , blah, etc. , etc. to it....... Remember when Jesus blessed those children that were hanging all over Him? What a great guy he must have been, on top of being God in Flesh.....what I wouldn’t give to be one of those kids that Jesus put His hands on and blessed personally! I often wonder how their lives went...

  18. Thanks Trace, that site looks hopeful in my situation. It says they send volunteers which fits my budget. It's good too because I only need the person on the days of the surgery. I will call them first if necessary but it may not be needed. Around noon today my case manager called. She finally switched me to a different aide agency. I started with this agency and the 2 aides I saw from them were both American girls who spoke English as well as writing it. I've always told the agencies that I need the aides to write out my checks so all I have to do is sign them. I also always told them I'm an afternoon client. This aide should be here next Monday at 12 pm. If all goes well she'll come to the surgery with me. I'm thanking God that Donna is alive and well. I wish she wouldn't do these things, but she's fine. Thank you to all who responded. I have to go to some stores.

  19. I thought it was of value as well. Lots of people struggle to understand the verses you posted about. Maybe not people on the Christian forums, but others out in the world. There is a post on another section of Worthy where a woman believes she needed to stay in an physically abusive marriage because the Bible says when someone slaps you on the right cheek, turn the other cheek. There are also people who stay in bad situations, both male and female, because they believe they will go to Hell if they don’t “forgive” someone who is harming them. The worst part about the misinterpretation of those verses is that it confuses those who are seeking and considering the Christian Faith. It looks as though God’s forgiveness of us, hinges on our ability to forgive others. If that is true, then essentially we are earning our way into Heaven and it’s not a free gift. I agree with you that we forgive because we now belong to Christ and we forgive for His sake. We forgive because He’s our Lord and we trust Him when He tells us to do something. It’s difficult to do, but we do it.

  20. I am perturbed, flabbergasted, and disturbed by the continuing efforts of ignorant, misguided, and scripturally incorrect religious people to foist their misconceptions, under the guise of ‘scientific theories’ (creationism, intelligent design, etc.) upon the educational system. ANY school of thought which has ANY supernatural mechanisms as a means is inherently disqualified to be a scientific discipline. In addition to the obvious damage and hindrance to our educational curricula, these attempts are a huge misrepresentation of spiritual reality and Biblical truth; and are a tremendous disservice to God and His interests concerning the human race. Please objectively consider the enclosed information. May it finally put to rest the ‘red herring’ of an evolution/Genesis conflict. Should you find it to be of value, feel free to disseminate it as far and wide as you wish. ...The more famous subject of Darwin's uniformitarianism, usually termed "evolution," comes to the front. This is always a controversial and emotional subject, and is usually discussed in a quasi‑scientific manner. 128 Evolution was, in its conception, an applied extension to biology of the school of thought known as uniformitarianism. Evolution itself is a logical explanation of the information that it correlates, and the evidence of the appropriate scientific fields has consistently verified the mechanisms necessary for substantiating the validity of evolution. Evolution, while it is not a proven process in the strictest sense, is completely valid in its viability and is the only logical process (i.e., one amenable to scientific analysis) so tenable. Modern humanists, increasingly anti‑Genesis in outlook, were growing in numbers and in positions of importance, especially in academic circles. To Voltaire, for instance, any mention of the Flood was offensive; it implied too much of God, or of judgment, or of the Judeo‑Christian heritage. Despite evidence left by fossils and sedimentary strata, as well as literary heritages, a Biblical Flood was taboo to him, and to many others. Voltaire was somewhat typical of the anti‑spiritual humanists of his day. He was thoroughly anti‑Christian and anti‑Judaistic. He felt that the burial of the Bible in general and the Genesis record in particular, would be a great service to mankind.130 The human error in the promotion and promulgation of evolution was, and still is, of two aspects: Firstly, as we shall see later on in this chapter, the school of thought that gave rise to the theory of evolution- Uniformitarianism‑ is totally in contradiction to scientific evidence. Uniformitarianism was founded on insufficient and incomplete data, and the motives for its adoption were more anti‑Genesis than they were pro‑scientific. Evolution as a scientific discipline must be divorced from the associated parent philosophy “Uniformitarianism” which was in vogue preceding it for reasons which have been discredited since. Evolution is a valid scientific discipline, Uniformitarianism is a disproven philosophy and school of thought. Uniformitarianism has intruded and embedded itself into scientific thought and thus skewed many considerations of cosmology and astral physics from being objective and empirical. Never mind poor old Emmanuel Velikovsky: While the evidence that he was considering was and is relevant and valid, his derivations (due to his great lack in correct scientific methodology) and conclusions were far amiss. He thus did a great disservice to the school of astral catastrophism, and set back its credibility immensely. The most recent conclusive disproof of Uniformitarianism is this(Coverage to the public was broadcast on a segment of Nova in 2004): 1. In the past decade (1990's) a radar/topological mapping satellite of improved precision surveyed the surface of Venus. 2. Recently formed (even of possibly historical times), non-eroded craters were found in large and significant quantities on the surface of Venus, craters which were not the result of volcanic activity, but of astral catastrophism (meteoric impact). 3. When a renowned (I didn’t take note of his name, due to the following) uniformitarian astrophysicist was interviewed for his opinion he said: “Well, I don’t see how Uniformitarianism can ever possibly explain these craters. But, nevertheless, I’m not willing to give it up”. 4. Gentleman, this is not objective, logical, scientific methodology. Scientific methodology requires that when the derived conclusions of your theory are found to be false in light of the evidence, then you either discard the theory or, if possible modify the flawed part of it accordingly. To cling to it after it has been disproved is not objective, it is religious domaticism. “Creationism” per se in all of its multi-fared manifestations, invoking to some extent and at some point a supernatural genesis of species, thus by its very nature cannot nor ever can be a scientific discipline. That being the case, “creationism” has absolutely no place whatsoever in any scientific textbook. The second mistake, resulting from the same anti‑spiritual motivation as the first, was in the use of evolution as one pillar of a mechanistic explanation capable of circumventing the problem of first cause, i.e., the origination of everything. Evolution is merely a process and is not an explanation of actual creation; the explanation of creation per se does not lie within the realm of scientific explanation. The only distinct meaning of the word "natural" is stated, fixed, or settled; since what is natural as such requires and presupposes an intelligent agent to render it so, i.e., to effect it continually or at stated times, as what is supernatural or miraculous does to effect it for once.132 The author of the above is referring to the implications of natural as is connotated by the term "natural selection." The very working mechanism of evolution implies intelligence behind such a process no less so than does that of a supernatural divine creation. I see no good reason why the views given in this volume (the Origin of Species and the Descent of Mari) should shock the religious feelings of anyone.... A celebrated author and divine has written to me that "he has gradually learnt to see that it is just as liable a conception of the Deity to believe that he created a few original forms capable of self development into other and needful forms as to believe that He required a fresh act of creation to supply the voids caused by the action of His laws. 133 (These are Charles Darwin's own words here) The validity of evolution would not, in the slightest degree, diminish the evidential necessity of the existence of God, nor would it preclude the validity of divine creation. Evolutionists for nonscientific reasons have erroneously discarded the Genesis account and, equally erroneously, religionists have discarded evolution as being contradictory to a Genesis account. Now it is time to logically examine the merits and foibles of the "pro-Creation" argument. The orthodox Christians escaped the greater error altogether; but, nevertheless gave clear testimony to the influence of the popular belief in their interpretation of the commencing chapter of Genesis. For they made the first verse signify the creation of a confused mass of elements, out of which the heavens and earth were formed during the six days, understanding the next sentence to be a description of this crude matter before God shaped it. And their opinion has descended to our days. But it does not appear to be substantiated by Scripture, as we shall presently see, and the guile of the serpent may be detected in its results. For how great a contest has it provoked between the Church and the World! For we are told that in the beginning God created (bara) the heaven and the earth; but the Scriptures never affirm that He did this in the six days. The work of those days was, as we shall presently see, quite a different thing from original creation: they were times of restoration, and the word asah is generally used in connection with them. Now asah signifies to make, fashion, or prepare out of existing material; as, for instance, to build a ship, erect a house, or prepare a meal.139 Today, to be pro‑spiritual and to appreciate the Judeo‑Christian heritage, one must, it seems, be anti‑scientific. This is a common consensus; it is a mirage.140 To promote the literality of the six days of restoration makes equally as much sense as the Roman Catholic Church's defense of the earth as the center of the universe in the time of Copernicus. It is theologically incorrect to think that the 6 days were literal 24-hour days, since time elements (lights) were not assigned until the 4th day. The damage done by such misguided, and scripturally mistaken believers, in making Christians appear to be ignorant and illogical people, has been inestimable. What would cause some of the better scientific minds of the last century to illogically jump to conclusions in a frenzied effort to discredit the Bible in general and Genesis in particular? What would cause religious people to feel compelled to attack evolution as if they were defending the Faith? The answer to these questions is obvious if we rephrase them with the word who instead of what. Who has always endeavored to cause the human race to strain out a gnat and swallow a camel? None other than our most subtle enemy, Satan.

  23. Trace, I hope you decide to stay. I was thinking about some of the stuff happening and it made me reflect on what Jesus said. A house divided can not stand and I think this can also be applied to Christians. The Body of Christ should not be divided against itself, yet many times we are arguing with each other over beliefs or any belief that differs from ours. Paul spoke about the gifts of the Spirit and how they should all be working together. I believe that we all have unique gifts and talents that can benefit others here. We just have to remember to do everything in love and with much patience for others. 1 Corinthians 12:25, “that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.”

  29. Thank you, Renee.....I think it is tragic that we live in an Age Of Grace and the average Believer refuses to take advantage of it- and let me clearly state that I do NOT mean to use Grace as a “ license to sin”.Anybody who thinks they can sin and “ get away with it” is a fool— and you had better believe that God knows how to handle these fools! People think they are taking some kind of “Noble Road” when they proclaim “I don’t care WHAT you say, by golly I go by what Jesus said!” It sure sounds good— to those poorly taught, yes— but when you ignore what Jesus said through his “Secretary” , Paul , you Pay a steep price. Christ’s Earthly Ministry took place under the Law. He lived it and preached it—- then fulfilled it for us.We are now DEAD to it . Jesus paid a dreadful price to be able to let us enter a New Period Of Grace.People do not realize the Freedoms we have now- not freedom to sin , but a freedom that comes from resting in the Gospel that tells us Jesus died for our sins and fussing and fretting about “ being good enough” is a waste of time.In fact, if you fool yourself into thinking you have “ made the grade” somehow, you are very likely damned. The Christian Walk, as Paul said , begins and ends in the same way— Faith. I seem to be meandering a bit....typical stuff from an old , old man...lol.... Here is the point I am trying to make.....We are under Grace. This is what Paul taught.Paul wrote nothing in his letters that was not given for him to say by Jesus, via the Holy Spirit .Thinking In this manner would make it appear that Jesus contradicted himself. It was the same Jesus that said you must forgive to be forgiven that later said all your sins were forgiven if you simply believe that He paid your sin debt and rose from the Grave. That is the Good News. That is “Paul’s Gospel” Given to Him personally by Jesus in the Sinai Desert in Paul’s 3 year Grace Class. It took that long to get the legalism out of his “ Pharisee Of Pharisees” brain. It was the same Jesus that said you should tithe your income ( there were three tithes— that’s 30 % of your income ) that later did a turnabout and said to give from your heart—- no demands to give anything if you were short- sighted enough to ignore “ heavenly rewards”. How does anybody get away with saying completely different things? Easily. The Cross changed everything .No contradictions by Jesus. There was a change in Reality itself.Simply by RESTING in the Gospel Of 1Cor15:1-4 , one will be gifted with God’s Holy Spirit and they will find themselves taking the orders and Commands of the Law and finding that now instead of doing things because they “ must” , they do so because they “ want to”. Using just the two examples previously mentioned, Under Grace I don’t “ have” to forgive ANYBODY to be saved. I “ want” to forgive others. It comes naturally from my Hew Heart. Similarly, I don’t “ have” to give a dime in order to be saved— I Give because I “want” to. Once again, my wants have been changed because of a New Heart. A New Heart for a New Age.The Age Of Grace. The same Savior that once talked Law is now talking Grace—- through Paul. Jesus said to “ follow Paul as he follows Christ”. One might think they are on the right track by “ following Jesus” —- and of course they are correct. But to follow Jesus today in this Age Of Amazing, Incredible Grace , we do things different . We do what Paul says to do, because when Paul says something , he is guided by The Holy Spirit- it’s as good as if Jesus said it Himself.

  35. It is very likely, and I've heard this mentioned many times before. There's an old beloved hymn called, Farther Along. Forgive me if I go a little off-topic here with the lyrics, and forgo some of the outdated terminology of the first verse. Farther Along 1 Tempted and tried, we’re oft made to wonder Why it should be thus all the day long; While there are others living about us, Never molested, though in the wrong. Refrain: Farther along we’ll know more about it, Farther along we’ll understand why; Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine, We’ll understand it all by and by. 2 Sometimes I wonder why I must suffer, Go in the rain, the cold, and the snow, When there are many living in comfort, Giving no heed to all I can do. [Refrain] 3 Tempted and tried, how often we question Why we must suffer year after year, Being accused by those of our loved ones, E’en though we’ve walked in God’s holy fear. [Refrain]

  37. I considered putting it in Soteriology, but I though that since the idea behind everything was “ Forgiveness in the Age Of Grace”it did not really qualify to go in there. It was really meant to be more of a “ Grace” thing than a “ Salvation” thing.I apologize for any problems this may have caused. Here is what I was implying— and note that that I am not accusing anybody of anything. I know that that Grace Message That I try to spread is offensive to many people.I don’t know anything about the beliefs of the Mods here . My fear is that there would be some here with power that would try to squash the Gospel Of Grace If they disagreed with it. I can’t understand why anybody would just cavalierly delete or send into oblivion a message that was Bible -Based. And if somebody does not think it was Bible Based, Give me the chance to explain why I think it is.I honestly thought my post was something of value....showing that many things were changed- Forgiveness included- after the Cross. If I was a moderator in a Christian Forum , I think I would bend over backwards to preserve a post that could help many Believers. Unless I thought it was a false , unbiblical belief— then I would do my best to get rid of it. I do not believe that is the case, and I certainly hope nobody here would do that. But only a fool would not see that this “ could” be the case—thus it is an occasional concern of mine. As far as being “ redundant”, what could be the harm of writing a response to somebody and realizing in the middle of it that it could be a good idea for a new thread ?Does redundancy and proper placement over- ride the importance of Bible -Backed messages that personally, I have never seen brought up at Worthy before ? Unless , of course, one thought what I was writing about was heresy.Do you understand my concern ? Anything is possible ........Unjustified or not, I have good reason to be wary— the Bible throughout shows what happens to “boat rockers”. Jesus and Paul were not afraid to rock the boat.Neither am I. That would be the only thing I have in common with them, beyond being a possessor of the Holy Spirit.God bless you all, and a sincere thanks for all you guys do.

  38. Hey Ashlee! Okay, I am non-denominational Christian. 1. I am going to guess what you mean by beliefs feel free to correct me if I misunderstand. I believe that Jesus will come again and there will be a pre-trib rapture versus a mid or end trib-rapture. Does that answer part A of question 1? B. First there will be judgement then after we get the new earth there will be paradise. 2. He will be coming with the clouds and everyone will see him is what I believe. B. Perhaps although the climate is always changing so possibly. 3. First there is a lot of emphasis on the judgement, (Most of the book of Revelation) then it talks about paradise after that but not for as many chapters. Hope this answers your questions.

  39. I don’t have a problem with anyone. Just a Christian on a Christian forum asking a sincere question. Didn’t mean to offend or break any rules. His post was publicly taken down so I thought I would ask publicly. I was not familiar with the terms of service and am not yet familiar with who the moderators are besides George, and I think Willa is a chat mod. I only know that about Willa because I follow her. i suppose they can delete this thread if I have broken a rule.

  40. I am not sure which beliefs you are talking about as there are many different beliefs. What I personally believe is that the world will be seriously hurting after the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments have been poured out. Not at that time. We will have paradise when we receive the new heavens and the new earth. We will see Jesus coming int he clouds. There will be many signs that His time is drawing near, but at His coming, the whole world will see Him. The climate has always been in a flux and changing. That said, we are told there there will be earthquakes in various places, which certainly happening more now than ever recorded in history. Judgment, according to scripture.

  42. 1. I'm Presbyterian. We never put too much emphasis or discussion on Jesus' second coming in my church, probably because no one figured it would happen in his or her lifetime, unlike the early church where they thought they'd live to see Jesus return. I think some of the signs have already happened. I honestly believe much of Revelation was directed against the Roman Empire and Nero was the number of the beast 666. https://detroitcatholic.com/news/gary-michuta/does-666-add-up-to-nero. My personal belief is that the second coming might be just as the first. The Jews were expecting a Messiah to deliver them from earthly enslavement such as the Roman occupation and not a spiritual one. Christians are expecting Jesus' return in a certain way, and I wouldn't be surprised if that return were much different than what we believe the scriptures are telling us. I'm sure that Jesus will fulfill scripture, but not in a way we Christians might think. 2. "Wars and rumors of wars." is supposed to be one of the first signs, but considering that there have always been wars and rumors of wars, that sounds like the status quo. There was the Pax Romana for 200 years, but before and after there was war. In modern times, we have wars and rumors of war daily. That ties into climate change. The climate has always been changing, but now we are looking at possible hardships predicted in our future that mankind has yet to face on a global scale. 3. IMHO, more Christians focus on judgment rather than paradise.

  43. I have a million and one questions I would ask Him right now but something tells my heart when I stand before Him, I'll have all the answers I need; so I think instead of asking a question, I'll just take an extra Jesus hug and then go back to end of the line again.

  44. actually, the graph shows that temperatures today are hotter than decades ago. That's my point. Nothing more. for the forests, all that matters is how the trees are experiencing the climate change that you deem hardly significant... scientists see a link between rising temperatures and damaged trees (see second source in my last post, see also the linked source of this post. Both in German language however, I should research to find something in English language?). If for the trees, a rise by 0.6 degrees is partially deadly, then we see more patches of dead trees simply. see graph below see second graph below, it shows damaged trees in red colour, trees in risk of being damaged, and trees that are ok (green colour). Source (click here, see page 9). I don't think so, I didn't exaggerate. I've shown the truth. I tried to demonstrate the situation of forests in Germany which is where I live today. I hope, you'll find the information of this post more convincing now that you see scienists' evaluation on trees. I'm not cool. No bias. I've shown you what I see every day when I go running in the forest. I'm sad every day when I see these dying trees. Thomas

  47. I don't know if this is quite what the OP had in mind... but I add plain yogurt to any pudding I am making. Gives it a creamy rich zest. Wish you could see, my blind kitty (who is ever trying to get up in my lap) is sitting perfectly still on my shoulder as I am writing. She usually squirms too much for me to even be able to write. LOL We adopted her from the SPCA. Her eyes were too small when she was born and they removed them. This is her precious face all the time. We are so blessed!!!

  48. Science, the science that put a man on the moon, can transplant hearts etc depends on Christian philosophy. Atheism has not and cannot explain why the universe is explainable by mathmatics. Biogenesis is an unexplained problem as is how new genetic information arises. Evolution is claimed to be scientific fact yet no one has the facts that show evolution to be scientific. It is a statement of 'Faith' !

  49. In my humble opinion, maybe you would have better participation if you kept your OPs simpler instead of a cut and paste fest. Remember K.I.S.S. Just sayin'
