  1. Earlier this year my drivers license was going to expire. I had just finished chemo, was still having immunotherapy infusions, just had surgery, and was about to start radiation. I had 50 pounds of water weight in my legs. Couldnt walk. My eyes were not the best due to chemo. And i was bald. I did not want to take vision test and photo for a new license. I was stressing. Then i got a letter in the mail telling me my license was good for another 5 years and i didnt have to come in. I was speechless. He has done so many things to make my life easier this past year.

  2. TOO QUICKLY ANNOYED? Pr 12:16 A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult. Take note of how quickly and in what manner you respond to an insult. Jas 1:19 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry Furthermore: Pr 29:11 A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control. Pr 25:28 Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls. In fact only a fool always expresses how they feel. The righteous should be dispassionate to a degree. In particular being slow to anger requires an exercise of one's self-control. A person lacking in self-control has his defenses broken down and as such is open to the enemy's attack. 3. Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 We will never receive if we ask with a certain result in mind. Oswald Chambers

  4. I understand where you are coming from. There are three different types of love. What you are describing is “ agape” Love. That is an other -worldly ,pure , unconditional Love that only God Possesses. If we one practices Faith , God can express that Love “ through” a person.I have heard it said that in the end, God is not really interested in what we do- He is interested in what “HE” does “ THROUGH” us.Always made sense to me. I don’t hate you or your theology.....For many years I have considered myself “ a free man in Christ”. It appears that I have met a kindred spirit. The subjects debated in these Forums are deadly serious .....doctrines determine Heaven or Hell, But I agree that we don’t have to take ourselves serious “ALL”.Believers have won the Battle.....we have “ overcome the Evil One”......I am saved forever, I know it and that gives me great joy- that leads me to a light- heartedness That is bound to show. Its hard to suppress the Joy that God has put in my heart .God bless...

  5. Interestingly, if one plots all the births and deaths one finds that Abraham was about 58 years old when Noah died...… and Shem lived 35 years longer than Abraham did. I think Abraham had some direct teaching from Noah himself concerning all the idol worshiping stuff.

  7. "We will never receive if we ask with a certain result in mind." Oswald Chambers I also wondered about that, Neighbor, and had similar reservations. Oswald Chamber's book, "My Utmost for His Highest" is one of my most read study/inspirational books, and have read and studied for very many many years. So I looked up his quote. For the rest of the story, (in context, and complete quote!) Then What’s Next To Do? By Oswald Chambers Everyone who asks receives… —Luke 11:10 Ask if you have not received. There is nothing more difficult than asking. We will have yearnings and desires for certain things, and even suffer as a result of their going unfulfilled, but not until we are at the limit of desperation will we ask. It is the sense of not being spiritually real that causes us to ask. Have you ever asked out of the depths of your total insufficiency and poverty? “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God…” (James 1:5), but be sure that you do lack wisdom before you ask. You cannot bring yourself to the point of spiritual reality anytime you choose. The best thing to do, once you realize you are not spiritually real, is to ask God for the Holy Spirit, basing your request on the promise of Jesus Christ (see Luke 11:13). The Holy Spirit is the one who makes everything that Jesus did for you real in your life. “Everyone who asks receives….” This does not mean that you will not get if you do not ask, but it means that until you come to the point of asking, you will not receive from God (seeMatthew 5:45). To be able to receive means that you have to come into the relationship of a child of God, and then you comprehend and appreciate mentally, morally, and with spiritual understanding, that these things come from God. “If any of you lacks wisdom….” If you realize that you are lacking, it is because you have come in contact with spiritual reality— do not put the blinders of reason on again. The word ask actually means “beg.” Some people are poor enough to be interested in their poverty, and some of us are poor enough spiritually to show our interest. Yet we will never receive if we ask with a certain result in mind, because we are asking out of our lust, not out of our poverty. A pauper does not ask out of any reason other than the completely hopeless and painful condition of his poverty. He is not ashamed to beg— blessed are the paupers in spirit (see Matthew 5:3). sorta paints a different story, you reckon..........

  9. Anger Holy anger or freshly anger!!!! What are people seeing in you? We live in a fallen world, with every manner of sin and selfish desire know to man raging all around us. With this comes high volumes of stress, great pressure and tension. This produces Anger in great measure, for both who are stressed and Those who are not. We see this anger being expressed everywhere. Murders are climbing at an alarming rate. Children are being beaten and murdered in the masses, even though it happens one innocent child at a time. Road age is on every roadway, our leaders bicker and argue and find no resolutions or solutions for the people in which they are to lead. Excuses, accecptance, lies and cover ups for such behavior: Being overworked, under paid, unfair laws, unreasonable demands, selfishness and self centeredness, overbearing, love of control, power, sucess, higher then others, high minded and the list could go on and on of reasons behind the anger people express and justify those reasons. However, these are not what I want to address. What I'd like to address is the difference between Holy or righteous anger and Fleshly anger. Also to ask the question of: " what do others see in you? " What is anger? Anger is an emotion,a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility. That reacts with intent to harm. Anger of the flesh produces harm in some way physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. What is Holy or righteous anger? As born again Chrisitans, this anger is a emotion with purpose. The opposite of the freshly anger to harm in some way. This anger exposes evil, produces healing and brings juctice. This anger will bring about the righteousness of God. Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:19–20) (Ephesians 4:26-27) 26 Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.I Psalms 37:8 - Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. Proverbs 14:29 - [He that is] slow to wrath [is] of great understanding: but [he that is] hasty of spirit exalteth folly. Proverbs 15:1 - A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. James 1:19 - Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: Ephesians 4:31 - Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: Proverbs 19:11 - The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and [it is] his glory to pass over a transgression. As we reflect upon our lives, look intently into yourself. What do you see? Is your anger producing good or bad! Whatever your answer is, this is what God sees and others see around you if your honest with yourself. If we see the anger of the flesh, how do we work on this? Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit Romans 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Walking in the spirit can only be done by spending time with God, reading and studying his word, praise to God, by prayer and fasting and fellowship with him through Christ. Things to remember: If you do sin, go quickly before God and repent. He is willing to forgive and help you. Always keep God at the forefront, knowing that whatever expression of anger your ready to produce goes through him first. This way you know your words, thoughts and actions pass before a holy, righteous, pure God before they pass on to another. See others in our shoes before we knew Christ. These may help you in your journey as we all learn and grow together. May God richly bless and may we truly be a light in this world of darkness.

  10. https://www.christiantoday.com/article/world-evangelical-alliance-general-assembly-opens-with-call-to-christians-to-finish-the-great-commission/133578.htm QUOTES: Dr Njotorahardjo reminded those gathered for the General Assembly that the coming of God's kingdom was part of the Lord's own prayer and were words that they needed to speak out every day. "Pray for Jesus' second coming, long for His appearing," he said. "How many of you are longing for His appearance?" We have to be serious about finishing the Great Commission of Jesus," he said. "We are not here just to gather but to pray, Oh Lord, come quickly and Your kingdom come." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PERSONAL CONSIDERATIONS: I love this level of clarity about prayer and vision that the Lord is bringing back to the Church in these last days. For too many centuries the Christian message have been watered down/confused/substituted. But the Lord is bringing the Gospel of the Kingdom back to the core tenants, and finally our prayer and actions will be completely oriented to the Return of Jesus. The King is coming back, the kingdoms of this world are about to become the Kingdom of our Lord (Revelation 11:15) and with our prayers, preaching and holy life we are called to be intercessors to hasten the return of the King and the fulfillment of the Kingdom. (2Peter 3:12). Any thoughts/comments?

  11. I recently came across a story of a woman who claimed to hear God speaking to her, telling her to take a particular rock to someone she knew. When she arrived with the rock, he was in the process of polishing some rocks, and agreed to polish the rock for her. Upon completion, she claimed one side held an image of Jesus carrying a lamb, and on the other side, an image of Jesus speaking to her. I've seen pictures of people finding an image of Jesus on other objects. Burnt unto a slice of toast. On a piece of raw steak. In the clouds. The list goes on. What is your opinion regarding these? Are they real? Or is it a hoax? Is it a matter of psychology, the human brain taking an anomalous object (it's shape, coloration, etc) and filling in the gaps?

  12. ".....and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with JOY INEXPRESSIBLE and full of glory. After being here on this forum for a while, I see being here is more about coming to a battlefield like many other WORDLY forums of all types, than coming here to discuss our faith. It's like most here have given themselves permission to do VIOLANCE TO GODS WORD in how people here attack each other and do their best to unmerceafully rip the "SPIRITUAL FLESH off anyone willing to do battle. So much of God's word here is VIOLATED in the cause of SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS and being MORE RIGHT IN THEIR OWN ESTIMATION NOT GOD'S. What a sad picture of what some call Christianity, and it continues to grow in becoming worse. There is a sad justification here and other places about the continuing poor attitudes that are justified by saying ..."well some of us are just less mature than others and we have to be understanding and I get that, but when there's an overwhelming majority here setting a poor example and blatanly violating God's word in beliefs and horrible attitudes and in ATTACK MODE NEARLLY ALL THE TIME, and absolutely have to be right all the time VIOLENTLY.................. ......what does that leave GOD to work with if it's true that HE WORKS THROUGH US,...and He does when we allow it. When any of you here are attacking others do you ever think about the VIOLANT damage you are doing to God being able to use you as you fight to DEFENDI"YOUR" STAND TO BE RIGHT ? The verse I quoted above seems like a verse with many others like it that should guild every part of our GODLY NATURE if we have one. Take every thought captive. We'll be judged for every idle word spoken. Are these verse just believed here to be suggestions to believe or cast aside for a different choice that is more acceptable for the situation??? Now I know for sure that people will come here and attack me in order to diffuse what I've said or to distract or accuse me of some infraction myself or ask everyone on the forum who gives me the right to judge or complain...well folks God gives us all permission to do just as He did to all the churches in the book of Revelation. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Somehow I think my words are just blowing in the wind, as what I have seen has become to prevalent to be turned around and simply love one another. To me, what's left of Christianity is in a sad state of disrepair - BROKEN. But there are still the CALLED OUT who have left what little remains, after finding the truth, and are REJOICING IN THEIR GLORIOUS STATE. MAY GOD HAVE MERCY

  13. Colossians 3:15-17 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Hello everyone, many of us will be celebrating Thanksgiving day. Many of us have Traditions they we love practicing, and favorite food we enjoy eating this season. Some of mine personally are being with my family for a nice dinner and going around the table as each one tells of something they are thankful for. It's a wonderful time of fellowship and laughter that I enjoy very much. I also enjoy my favorite foods, Turkey, potato salad and of course pumpkin pie. But through all of the wonderful times and delicious food, the question is: "What does Thanksgiving mean to you?" My meaning of Thanksgiving is (of course) being Thankful, but also freedom. I have been blessed by being born in America. Though I may disagree with much that goes on in America, I also know that I am so grateful for my country. Thanksgiving is a day to be thankful to almighty God for all things great and small. But also to reflect on the freedom I have in my beautiful country and my Christ filled heart and life. Thanksgiving is a day of honoring God for his abundant blessing, his amazing love and for who he is.As well as all that I have as his child through Christ. Those of us who God ordained to be born in America have freedom like no other. Our constitution gives us so much freedom: Freedom of speech, religion and the press. FREEDOM OF ASSEMBLY FREEDOM OF PETITION The right of the people to keep and bear Arms. NO-QUARTERING" RIGHT THE RIGHT TO EQUAL JUSTICE THE RIGHT TO OWN PRIVATE PROPERTY We also have the right to enjoy other freedoms: Freedom to live or travel anywhere in our nation Freedom to work at any job for which we can qualify Freedom to marry and raise a family Freedom to receive a free education in good public schools Freedom to join a political party, a union, and other legal groups This is just some of our freedoms here in America, we as Christians are equally free in Christ: 2 Corinthians 3:17 - Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty.(Freedom) John 8:36 - If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Galatians 5:13 - For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Galatians 5:1-26 - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. These are just a few verses to show our freedom in Christ. If you are celebrating Thanksgiving, may you reflect on these things and be thankfulness FREEDOM. Please share your views, or perhaps you would like to share a tradition or one of your favorite foods. May you be blessed and bless others this season.

  14. This devotional from Daily Blessings explains so well about the grace of God so thought I would share it. “You will subdue our iniquities; and will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.” - Mic 7:19 Sin subdued is the next greatest blessing to sin pardoned; and wherever God pardons sin, he subdues sin; for the same grace which saves sanctifies; the same grace which casts sin behind God’s back, puts its foot upon the corruptions of the believer, and prevents iniquity from having dominion over him. The Scripture is very plain and express upon this point. “Sin shall not have dominion over you.” Why? “Because you are not under the law,” which gives sin its strength and power, “but under grace,” which is able to subdue its dominion. Nor do I believe that any child of God can ever rest satisfied except by the subduing of his sins as well as the pardoning of them. To have his unbelief, infidelity, worldly-mindedness, pride, and covetousness subdued by the grace of God, its power taken out of it, its dominion dethroned, its authority destroyed, and its strength weakened and diminished, that he may not be under the dominion of any lust, or carried away by the strength of any secret or open sin, but may walk before God in the light of his countenance, as desirous to know his will and do it—this is the desire and breathing of every one that knows sin in its guilt, filth, and power. How gracious, then, is the promise, how sweet the favor, that the Lord has promised to subdue our iniquities by the same grace as that whereby he pardons them; that, as we receive the blood of Christ to sprinkle the conscience, so we receive the grace of Christ to sanctify and renew the soul, and the strength of Christ to overcome all our inward and outward foes.

  15. Shalom @Repose I hope you are well my friend. I think sometimes the person's claim is genuine (check out the psychological principle called Pareidolia) and sometimes the person's claim is a hoax. Simply put, I don't believe that Yahweh would have His Son depicted in such an object or in the clouds. It just doesn't match with His Word and it serves no purpose other than to say "Check this out, this looks like my Son, doesn't it! So... yeah... bye". I don't know, it just doesn't make sense. It seems to me to be a mixture of misunderstandings, superstitious behaviour or intentional hoaxes, in my opinion. Love & Shalom

  17. I hear people say the Torah isn't properly translated, thus releasing us from the obligation to obey the Lord's commandments, but the Lord certainly had the desire and ability to see to it his words were properly translated. And I hear people say that the Lord was speaking to the Jews in the Old Testament, and therefore we aren't bound to it. I would agree that the Lord was talking to the Jews, but if he says something, such as homosexuality, is an abomination, then it's an abomination. That is true for all of us, not just Jews.

The only problem encountered was the miscalculation of their automatic pill/tablet dispensers. I've had as many as a shortage of 10 tablets on certain prescriptions, and have had to request that they count them out for me discreetly to the side of the main counter. Fair is fair, and they've always been very understanding about it.

  21. For me the discussion on the gap theory would be a futile discussion. The reason being is that I believe in a literal interpretation of Scripture. When God says he created in 6 days and rested on the 7th I believe they are literal days. God does not use metaphors, word pictures or anything to give any reason why it would not be literal days. I find it interesting that many times Christian's try to find some spiritual meaning in something God says when in reality they should just read God's Word at face value. God is a literal God and when he does speak in word pictures and such there is no question that He is.

  22. We may have the wrong UR in our commentaries.. However, God had just dealt with Babel and the disobedient spirits (Psalm 82, Deut 32) and scattered the nations under the dubious care of those 70 erring principalities. God chose a man and woman who could not have babies. He wanted to PROVE to all that He can raise up a nation supernaturally.. which He did. However, Ishmael was a bit of an issue, but Isaac was the 'monogenes' of Abraham and the promise for all nations. After this for quite some time it was Israel vs the nations, and Yahweh vs the pantheons (disobedient spirits). Thus the Torah.. (another subject). Often, Yahweh will demonstrate His Sovereign Love by doing things like this. He is God over all.

  23. The Gospel began in the Tanakh. Abram was to bless all nations. Understand what the apostles meant by understanding the Tanakh first. That was their 'bible' plus many Hebrew texts and commentaries that we seem to ignore. The apostle says conclusively 'all Israel shall be saved..' This means all believers regardless of ethnicity. If then these are 'all Israel' then they (believers) WILL be a kingdom of priests to all the nations. This began again at Pentecost. It was commanded and portrayed in the Tanakh because it is the Heart of the Lord God 'that none should be lost'.

  25. I’m just wondering why you believe people “misunderstand” this when the Holy Spirit teaches us everything we need to know about God's Love and His desire for us to love others? Christ also repeats his commandment to love many times between John 14 and 15. And His Prayer in John 17 is that we will know how much the Father loves us. If Christ is praying that we will know God’s love, I’m sure His prayers were answered.

Then when I got out of that situation it turned out that despite missing a disability hearing while I was stuck with that relative I was approved. I really believe that to be an act of God. It strengthened my faith, brought me closer to God, I was provided for, and eventually mended my relationship with my mother as a result of it all.

  28. Hi mabel, It's interesting that the place Haran, over 6oo miles from Ur, has the same name as the person Haran who died before the journey was made. Apparently Haran was Abraham's older brother. Before he died in the presence of his father Terah, Haran had fathered Lot, Milkah, and Iskah. The places Ur of the Chaldees, and Haran of Padan-Aram were geographically not too dissimilar. Abraham's father, Terah didn't get far in his intention to go into the land of Canaan, possibly finding Haran a good place to die which he subsequently did. Ur was a major centre of the moon god, Sin. The second major centre of Sin was Haran, which is in southeastern Turkey. [Answers.com] No doubt idolatry was known to the family of Terah, but Abraham obviously had better things to do than be subject to it, as we learn in verse 8 below. Gen 12:1-9 (1) Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: (2) And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: (3) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. (4) So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. (5) And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. (6) And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land. (7) And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. (8) And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD. (9) And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.

  29. My pleasure. But don't accept anyone's word on scripture, verify what is preached and said with the Bible yourself. Acts 17:11 (KJV) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Over time our military has been used as a political tool for economics and political agendas and global police force, bought and paid for by our taxes and soldiers blood. Great observation.

Have you ever read a verse many times, then one day you read it and you understand it? God doesn't give all knowledge at one time, so we will keep studying if we are really interested in knowing His truths. If we keep studying, God will keep giving us understanding, but not all at one time. Another thing we need to to have God reveal truth to us is to pray for understanding. Then study, then pray some more. Love, Peace and joy

  32. As we age, God takes us through new "Seasons" or stages of life. Every seven years a new stage should begin according to the experts, and so far I have been right on track. I have noticed in the last few years a mellowing of my spirit has begun and continues.. There is less desire to control so much of my life, in fact I've been learning more and more how to put more and more events and issues into God's hands and let Him take care of what I can't, and have found "MUCH" more peace and contentment. In Job 8:7, Job 42:12 and Haggai 2:9 God says, "Your latter days will be greater than the former days"...I LOVE THAT Job 8:7 says, "Though your beginning was insignificant, yet your end will increase greatly...LOVE THAT TOO Psalms 92:14 says, "They shall bring forth fruit in old age. They shall be full of sap and very green...WONDERFULL WOW...What an encouragement to me and my older generation, as we begin this next season of our life as we get closer to taking that final breath, that takes us home The crown of life!! These verses give me so much energy and drive( I still go to the gym and treadmill walk and run and lift weights- Healthy as a horse at 76). I have so many plans for the future that I put in Gods hands, because although they are great plans, God may have different idea's and I'm good with that. Always having these verses in the forefront of my mind gives me a stronger faith and an exciting mindset about the future and after studying for over 40 years God's word, and the wonderful faith he has grown me into, how much better could it be as I learn even more and apply those new things to my life. This walk with CHRIST excites me. What will I learn in the next 10 or 20 years ( I have longevity in my family genes ) as I continue my studies in Greek and Hebrew. Seriously...does it get any better than this??? Will I start a new ministry or maybe write a book or 2 ?? Or maybe because I'll be entering my 11th, seven year season soon, God may have plans for me I've never considered...SO EXCITING. Finally, God has been helping me deal with a few loose ends of my life that needed to be tidied up, and that's all done now, and life has taken on a new "GLOW" of "FREEDOM", and a new sense of peace not having to constantly struggle with those issues. No matter how small the "BONDAGE", the release can leave us estatic, as it has me, and I feel a new sense of DELIVERANCE and GREATER LIBERTY IN CHRIST. 2020 and beyond should be quite a ride as my faith continues to grow and my relationship with God my wonderful Father becomes closer and closer. As we all know there are always troubles in life and I may lose some people or there may be other tragedies I have to deal with , or I could even become Ill and have to struggle with health issues ( NONE YET), but with this foundation of loving life and knowing for sure that God will be there to help me with whatever comes along, as He ALWAYS has in the past................................... How does life get any better ?

  35. Hi, Thank very much fo rth efilling in and general imput. I will have to think it through some. As for now I find I ask/beg as a default. I do not pray for the Holy Spirit; I have the Holy Spirit indwelling me already. I do pray to the Holy Spirit, and to my Lord Jesus, and to the Father in the name of Jesus. I am in the Spirit at times, and the Holy Spirit will sometimes pray in a tongue not discernible by me therefore not edifying to me; also the Holy Spirit does even groan out when words fail me as I pray. What I felt I disagreed with is the idea that I cannot/should not ask for a specific result, and I do disagree with that idea. Of course I will ask for a specific result; and God will always answer, always. The answer will never be no. No is not an answer to prayer it is a denial of prayer. I do find God answers with more than I asked for, or better than I asked for, or even in a time frame I would never have imagined, and all for His good purpose so that all things work together for good for those that believe of Jesus as Lord God and personal savior. Seldom do I see ahead what is to be, as result of prayer but so very often I see the result in the rear view mirror as I travel this life's adventure. Little side note: I have also learned not to pray for wisdom or at least to be very careful in that particular request because of what wisdom is born, as often it is born of much adversity, adversity that works toward gaining wisdom. Again thanks for adding good fuel for my own use!

  37. True. But wrath isn't tribulation. Pretrib loves to conflate the two. "646 apostasía (from 868 /aphístēmi, "leave, depart," which is derived from 575 /apó, "away from" and 2476 /histémi, "stand") – properly, departure (implying desertion); apostasy – literally, "a leaving, from a previous standing."" Indeed. And where in this definition do we find "physically abducted from one place and taken to another"? You leave out the definition of apostasia and instead go with the definition of aphistemi, when aphistemi is not the word in the text! Then you skip over the true concept of aphistemi, "properly, departure (implying desertion)". Implying desertion?! And you infer "a physical abduction from one place and taken to another" from that? Did you miss that part where aphistemi is an personal act by an individual or group of individuals? No outside force acts in a physical abduction. It's "a leaving, from a previous standing." They walked away fully cognizant, they were not removed physically by a supernatural force. But aphistemi is not the word used in 2 Thess 2, the word Paul wrote is apostasia. The definition of apostasia is rebellion, revolt, defection. And it's truth no matter how you try to spin it. No one is going anywhere before the beast is revealed. No early train. No get out of jail free card. Pretrib will demand the seats at the front of the bus but is willing to thrust countless millions into the darkest, deadliest times ever to occur in history. The doctrine literally says the adherents are walking the earth in perfect righteousness without spot of blemish akin to Enoch, Elijah and Jesus. Astounding arrogance! It's a tyrannical, dictatorial doctrine that concludes, "They deserve to suffer, not us!", in opposition to the teachings and acts of Jesus and Paul which says, "Take me Father, so they do not suffer!".

  40. I'll have to second that also from Jade, if I'm understanding her correctly. Humbly kneeling in prayer is all fine and good if you're able to do so. This is no longer possible for me either. Last time I got down on my haunches, which is a full stoop, getting back up almost didn't happen. That's why adding 1st Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing. in my previous post. As believers, we can pray while doing anything else that needs attending. It's called multi-tasking first century style, and the Apostle Paul excelled in this.

  41. I would say Jesus paid the price for our sin on the cross, our punishment was eternal damnation...He did not take that on Himself , through His sacrifice, He relieved us of it

  43. Idolatry is bowing down and worshiping something. We only worship God and nothing else.

  44. Yahweh created us in His Image. We are IMAGERS of Him and free will is a part of this. Self determinism is a gift. God is an untamed Being. He likes it that way. There is chaos in the world, so Yeshua tells the sea to be calm, and it obeys. There is nothing that we can ever do that surprises the Lord. Yet he loves our trials and tribulations where He can be a still small voice, or a thundering mighty tower of strength. It is who HE IS. HE IS GOOD.

  45. Entropy--yup real difficult to get away from it. I am convinced it is the 'reality' that was introduced into the equation at the fall. Whether or not that is true, I speculate that in the New Heaven and New Earth---entropy will be a non-factor. I keep an eye on the sciences because studying the universe is to see my Creator there--just as Paul mentioned in Romans. I am convinced and have seen much evidence over the years, that the deeper science looks, the more it becomes obvious that God exists and His hand is observed. I believe and there is evidence that humanity is devolving--this is consistent with the principle/law of entropy. It has been observed that the rate of mutation in each generation is increasing exponentially. Note the word 'rate'. The vast majority of 'mutation' is deleterious. 'Mind' is a far more mysterious thing than most folks think it is...I very much doubt that 'Mind' can be transferred, despite the entertaining Sci-Fi stories.

  46. Hi Daniel.... I've had many conversations with JW's. I never let them get beyond John 1:1. " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" Their translation reads...."And the Word was A God" I then tell them that their whole translation has been changed to reflect on "A God" All the verses that pertain to Jesus's deity have been altered to say something different, that He is not Deity. Also, they now have God the Father, Jehova, creating a lesser God, Jesus, to do all His creating work. You can go on and on with just this "a God" business. They get spun like a pretzel, and usually walk away. They say they will check on this, but you usually don't see them again. Yup, I've been blacklisted many times.

A New Car A New Pair Of Shoes A New House With New Furniture Great Health And A Daily Gym And Swim Workout For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:17-18 Anything Could Be A Source Of Great Pride And Self-Worship (IMO) But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
