  1. Hi Seasoned. What you are saying I do not understand, but it is familiar in it's presentation. Many years back, my uncle and myself had a close relationship as relatives, and as brothers in Christ. He invited me at times to many places, churches and homes, listening to different Christian guest speakers, missionaries, about different topics, learning. His own group of friends left the baptist church they had been attending and began listening to this 'new revelation' teachings, and was very excited with what he was learning. They would meet in their homes and have this 'revelation preacher' give his messages. At one point at one of these home gatherings, myself and another Christian brother (mentor) were ask to leave because we questioned the preacher's teachings too much. My fellowship with my uncle deteriorated. I constantly ask him over and over, "if this revelation you have received is so important, why won't you simply tell me what it is?" He told me "God/Holy Spirit" has to reveal it to you" He never told me, and I was shunned from his group of friends. I remember it had a lot to do with blessings and curses, and demonic activity. Not long thereafter, he committed suicide. I will say to you Seasoned by Grace, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1

  10. These things cannot be done by us, but only in the power of the Holy Spirit. I learned more from the book, "Tortured for Christ," by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand---who suffered in the hands of communist torturers for 14 years, with unspeakable tortures, than from any other telling. Yet, by the grace of God Richard was able to show love to these brute beasts, who could beat these men for eight hours a day with the very same hand that they could caress and love their wives with in the evening. He loved them, and brought many to Christ. His story is compelling. The book is free. It has absolutely changed my life.

  12. I don’t think people know how “rampant” and deep the hypocrisy actually is in the Church. I’m writing a book about one of the most powerful Christian organizations in this country that many have never heard of, but they have a lot of influence and they maintain their reputation by threatening people who find out about their secrets. It’s very sad the way a lot of our leaders use Christianity for profit and self-promotion. We need to be proactive in holding these hypocritical leaders accountable.

  16. I see my self as a pretty average, normal kind of nobody, that has nothing special going for me. Sometimes in the evening I'll turn off the TV and all the lights in my home, and try to imagine this GOD I love and worship each day - IT'S IMPOSSIBLE ...FOR ME, and I wonder "WHY ME", OR ANY OF US, when I think of the extravagances of His love, as HE daily pours out these phenominal blessings of miracles, the answered personal prayers and prayers for friends and family that are so special to me, and those prayers are more than abundantly answered sometime in greater ways than I could have ever imagined asking myself. The more I try to imagine HIM the more I'm sincerely "BLOWN AWAYY" because I'm remembering all the years past, 40 some, remembering all the things HE made happen that were IMPOSSIBLE and yet happened. And over and over similar things happened in His PERFECT steadfast commitment to LOVE, to provide to protect, to encourage and yes, sometimes "CHASTEN", but everything in LOVE. I know who I am, and who I've been in the past and what I've done and thought about, and it's not pretty, maybe like some of you even, and so I VIEW MYSRLF THROUGH THE CROSS and it breaks my heart because it was for me, AND ALL OF YOU, and I can't wrap my head around that kind of CHRIST...that kind of LOVE. So I praise GOD every day and GLORY in the name of CHRIST as I come up way to short to ever see His face, but out of HIS INCREDIBLE love, HE MAKES UP THE DIFFERENCE IN THE Holy Spirits leading SO I CAN SOMEDAY BE CALLED home. What else do I say....PRAISE YOU AND THANK YOU.

  22. We all have disagreements and sometimes those do get heated. Poor behavior at times. Lately there are people debating and arguing in prayer threads. No matter what view you hold, those threads should be off limits to ANY debate. Brothers and sisters ask for prayer. The response of people in that forum should be to pray or post encouragement. NOT argue or debate theological views. Start a thread outside the forum if you wish to debate.

  23. Dear Mr. Mouse, You brought us much joy. We loved hearing of your antics (like when you moved the pack of mouse traps or left gifts for Lady Kay) and finding out what meal you'd had the night before. We were cheering for you but the end came as we all knew it would (Jawz can't be beaten apparently). I'm sure you gave a valiant effort though because that is the kind of mouse you were. Fancy but strong. A giant amongst mice you were. May you rest well in mice heaven, with all the cheese you can handle. We'll remember you forever (or at least until next week).

  28. I think most people understand what being appropriate for the occasion means. I was with a teacher dressed in a suit; I asked him why, and he told me, "I need to please the businessmen." He knew not to wear a bikini to a business meeting. So, it depends upon motive. Short hair for Jews 2000 years ago was the custom and was generally part of their culture. Today, not so much. But if a man believes that what he does is sin to him, then it is sin. If I go out to dinner and have a small amount of wine, is that sin? But if I were with a brother who had turned from alcoholism and I enticed him by drinking, I might think twice. The Old Testament was full of rules and regulations, but Jesus is full of grace, wanting us to use good judgement, instead of checking off a list.

  32. which reminds me... There once was a man whose life and prayers so pleased God that He visited him in a dream and told him to ask for anything he wanted. S the guy thought and thought...and finally said "Lord, You know I've always been a bit leery of flying, and I don't know how to swim, so boats make me nervous too. It's been a lifelong dream to see the beauty of Hawaii. Would y0u build a bridge from San Diego to Hawaii for me so i can drive?" And the Lord responded "Are you sure that's what you really want? You know that's a LOT of resources to spend just for a Hawaiian vacation. Think a bit longer son...see if you can come up with something better than that." So, he thought a while more and finally said Lord I got it! You know I've never been able to understand women. I have never had a girlfriend, always been so awkward around girls i gave up on ever being married. I'd like to ask You to explain women to me, inside and out....teach me how they tick so maybe I can develop a healthy relationship with one...maybe even have a family! And God said "You want that bridge two lanes or four?"

  33. I personally believe we should say nothing. God is more concerned about our inward life. Of first importance is our inward relationship with Christ, and that His love, joy and peace be expressed through us. The outward things will follow in due time. God appointed us to catch the fish and it is up to Him to clean them. So it is best to say nothing and love them as they are. I used to attend a church where women didn't wear slacks at all. One day a woman walked into the church wearing flip flops and capris. She came to the alter for salvation. The next week the little old lady's Sunday school class all came wearing pants suits. That so impressed me as an act of love to welcome her in this way. She was a single mom with 5 teenagers so she had no money left over for herself.

  36. Shalom @ContinuingCorletta Absolutely! The Father would have us having fun and even instructs us to on certain Feasts. Sometimes as Christians we get so caught up in the Word and doctrine (which is great) that we can forget just to have fun with our brothers and sisters. Being silly, telling jokes, playing games, dancing and creating etc can be so easily overlooked within Christian fellowship - and yet that is the whole point of all of this! Family, love, fun and joy. True, in this life we may suffer and be oppressed. But we weren't designed with this in mind. In the next life, there will be so much joy, peace, fun, singing, dancing, games, humour, creativity and playing that it will make everything else in this world look very dull in comparison. Ways to have fun that we cannot even perceive with our limited experience of this place. Rather than think "what does fun look like for a Christian", rather ask yourself "what do I find fun?" And, if it doesn't contradict the Word, then do it - relieve your heart from the heaviness of day-today life! It doesn't need to be a "Bible Quiz" or painting Noah's Ark in order to be acceptable to God, hehe. But, as long as it doesn't contradict His teachings, I'm sure His blessing will rest on you. So enjoy your hobby, games and hanging out with friends knowing that your capacity and desire to have fun was designed by Him. Love & Shalom

  39. I continue to pray for you dear brother. A Christian in prison that faced extreme hardship did not know anymore from the outside world whether his brothers and sisters were even praying for him, and he lost all hope and will to survive. He had sent many letters that were left unanswered. But one eventually was received by a pastor (ironically?), and not long after, hundreds of letters and prayers flooded the prison. When he learned of them, he said that it was if the steel bars of his cell gave way to angels that came to his rescue, and through many tears, he shared that his hope returned, and that no matter what he had to go through, he knew Jesus had strengthened him and would carry him through to the end. In whatever suffering we are intended to go through, Jesus is glorified. We too stand with you in your time of trial, and pray God will comfort you, and that you too will be blessed that like that prisoner, God is with you in your "prison cell" as well. God bless you.

  40. I'm sorry but a strict adherence to the text and obedience to God's Word 2 Cor 10:5 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; KJV leaves one with only one conclusion >no gap< … so gap is imagination and without textual support.

  41. You're bashing other people's posts here and I'm being condescending? I suppose you don't find the below statement to be of that nature either. Please re-read it. At the ending statement is an inappropriate word, so it was personally edited out. It's also indicative of egotism, and the OP in this instance was not asking for advice, but giving it. Listen to heavy metal music to battle witchcraft? Really?

  42. 1 Peter 2:13-17 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. For a season I worked in Washington D.C. for one of the largest Christian political organizations in America. Sometimes I saw how politics could get ugly and, more often than not, how it changed people -- not for the better...but often for the worse! As I've recently returned to the U.S., the political atmosphere is probably the worst I've ever witnessed. It's almost surreal the outrageous attacks taking place in the country. And sadly, I feel pretty sure these attacks will only intensify in the days ahead. Nevertheless, I'm encouraged! Why? Because, often, the enemy's destructive intentions and attacks become God's means for testimony and victorious proclamation! Let me give you an example: during the period of history known as "the enlightenment", the "enlightened" philosopher, Voltaire, proclaimed that within twenty-five years the Bible would be forgotten and Christianity would be a thing of the past. Forty years after his death in 1778, Voltaire's house was purchased, and used to print Bibles and other Christian literature. Such is the irony of one man's prophetic folly. His own house became God's platform for proclaiming the message that Voltaire despised. Watching the current election process in America, without mentioning names, I suggest we may once again witness such an irony. Don't let the political season shape you for the worse, with bitterness, mockery, sarcasm, rancor, etc... -- but rather, transform the political landscape by who you are -- a king and a priest of the Most High! Be a confident, respectful, and quietly shining beacon of light in this dark (political) world, and continue to pray the Lord's guiding hand upon the leaders who face the tremendous responsibilities and challenges ahead!
