  2. From The Cradle To The Cross In awestruck reflection I thought of that day That God came to earth in a marvelous way Born of a virgin...a wonder to all choosing to sleep in a mere cattle stall The King of glory...no crown for His head But one made of thorns is what He'd wear instead! All of His splendor He counted as loss No throne to sit on...He'd hang on a cross! Up there in mockery they would suspend Him He, our great Advocate...none to defend Him! Sweet, in the manger...but scorned, on the tree Bearing chastisement for you and for me So while we praise Him on this Christmas day Remember His birth was to give us a way That we could see Heaven and new life begin His birth led to suffering for all of our sin He rose from the dead and defeated the grave He came forth victorious who came here to save The beauty of Bethlehem's bright, shining star The darkness of Calvary seen from afar The Lord's Resurrection completing His task Salvation providing to all who would ask Adored in a manger so long ago The Word became flesh...His creation to know So come let us worship the Savior above Who entered our world on a mission of love And let us tell others His gospel of grace Making Him known to the whole human race

  3. @BeauJangles I hope you enjoy this video. The group Zemer Levav, pronounced (ZEM-er Leh-VAHV), are the Hebrew words Song of the Heart. The group consists of 3 sisters who sing and play instruments. I believe there are others in the group related to them, too. They are Messianic Jews. In this song, there is a bit of Hebrew. The English meaning to that line (translation) is: "Magnified and sanctified be God's great Name"

In connection with your post the Holy Spirit has quickened this verse from Paul's exhortation on observing the Lord's Supper to me: 1Co 11:26 (26) For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you do show the Lord's death till he come.

  7. God inhabits eternity. His sense of time is different to ours. In Genesis, we have the promise of the saviour prophesied. But he did not come until some 4000 years later. It was in the fullness of time, that God send forth his Son.

  8. "Today, the world is full of fear and anxiety. People fear war, spouses, parents, children, former friends with whom they are now in conflict. They fear unemployment, bad crops, bankruptcy, loss of position or reputation. For short, they fear suffering. I was kidnapped off the street and pushed into a car by the communist secret police on February 29th, 1948. My eyes were covered with glasses having metal lenses, so I should not be able see. The first thought coming to my mind, while riding in the car, was that the expression "Do not be afraid" occurs in the Bible 366 times, once for every day of the year, plus an extra day for leap years. (Year 2020 is a leap year! N.Ed.) After suffering 14 years of communist prison and my wife Sabina nearly 3 years, my family was ransomed for $10,000 to the West and regained freedom. Others may have reason to fear, but those who seek Jesus, which was crucified need not be afraid. We have the company of angels who minister to us. They are mighty beings who know us well, though we cannot see them usually, they see us and they are good friends on whom we can rely. In the courtyard of the jail in which I was detained in Communist Romania, I observed sometimes cruel wars between two armies of ants. But to win, it was only necessary for one side to have as its ally a single human being. With one foot I could crush the whole army of the enemy. In like manner, the enemies of our souls are mere dwarfs to the good angels. Do not be afraid! Your angel knows what you seek! Saint Monica, mother of Saint Augustine, the renowned fourth century church leader, would not have been known as a saint had she not had a brutal heathen husband and had not suffered twenty years of sadness at the thought, "If my son dies today, he will be in hell." He lived in sin and had abandoned faith in Christ for a blasphemous philosophy. Suffering borne with courage, humility, love, and wisdom beautifies the soul. Monica was rewarded. In the end, her husband and the son were converted. Person for whom the tears of saints are shed will not remain lost. The church of today also has saints who do not fear. The Russian Baptist minister Mikhail Sigarev spent over ten years in prison for his faith (written in 1977. Now 92 years old, see his recent testimony published below! N. Ed.) The Communist secret police (the KGB) offered him total freedom if he were to agree to collaborate with them and register his church with the state-recognized and -controlled church. When Sigarev refused, he was re-arrested. His trial took place in Labinsk, by the Black Sea in the Soviet Union. An atheistic lecturer, who was supposed to make Sigarev change his beliefs, stated before court: "l do not know enough to be able to talk to Sigarev. ln order to maintain such a conversation, one has to know the Bible very well, and I have to admit that I did not know what to answer him. " The Communist judge wanted to silence Sigarev when he spoke in his own defense, but people in the court, unafraid, shouted that he should be allowed to speak. Sigarev said: "Because we are His disciples, we must be persecuted. All this was already written in the Word of God. I thank God that He led me so far, and that He will continue to lead me and will not abandon me," The judge sentenced Sigarev again to two and a half years of prison. When the sentence was pronounced, Christians in the courtroom threw flowers at Sigarev and sang a Christian hymn." ……..Pastor Richard Wurmbrand Do not be afraid.

  16. Perhaps there are two kinds of people in the world. The first would be those who are trying to obey the Lord's commandments. Hopefully everybody here is in this category. And the other group is those who develop the skill of “sucking up” to the “right people.” These are the troublemakers. For those of you who would argue that we don’t have to obey the Lord’s commandments, remember what Jesus said: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15 RSV

  18. What you are explaining, is confused. And here is why. ..... Its one thing to be unsaved, not born again, and hear the Gospel, and be drawn by the Holy Spirit to receive Christ as Savior. So, in THIS case, "repenting", is doing all that. Its the work of the Holy Spirit to cause you to recognize your sinful state, repent and turn to the Cross, and receive Christ. But if you've done this, and you are born again, then, there is no....."well, i sinned, so im lost again, and i need to repent again for the 4000th time, to get myself re-saved again for the 4000th time". Listen, SALVATION is not some type of crazy YO-YO religious situation where we lose it, get it back,....... lost it again,......... get it back. Salvation is God taking your sin and allowing Jesus to DIE FOR IT. And HE DID....And its GONE. So, one that has happened, then God's righteousness has become YOURS, if you're born again, and this does not ever change......Its is who you are now, a "new creation IN CHRIST". And LATER when you are not perfect, when you make mistakes, if you are not following the Lord, then you are just as Righteous. This "in Christ" state, this New Identity, is not based on your behavior.....Its based on Christ's RIGHTEOUSNESS that has become YOURS, .... IF YOU ARE BORN AGAIN. BORN AGAIN AS WHAT? DO YOU KNOW? DO YOU? YOU ARE BORN AGAIN AS THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD. That is your "born again" part. And you can't lose this, and your behavior can't change it. See, being born,.....being BORN again... = is not something that can be CHANGED.

  21. Lee_ , The cross of Christ is a stumbling block to Jews and nonsense to Gentiles. 1 Corinthians 1:18–31 (AV) 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

You are too valuable in your role as a “ Springboard”to get the True Gospel Of Grace out there for those Lurkers and Newbies that have yet to be ruined by the False Gospel Of Legalism and “ Lucky” Repentance. I honestly try not to attack YOU and your erroneous friends. As long as I draw breath, I will NEVER stop attacking the Doctrine you promote that I think is UnBiblical. I expect YOU to do the same, And you do.I think it’s what people refer to as having a debate.Try to defend your beliefs and I will try to defend mine—- both using Scripture as we best understand it. Each of us think we are right, so let the viewer see both sides of the debates so they can make their own decisions.I believe that is George’s main reason for establishing this great site. That we arrive at the Truth of God’s Word is all that really matters. You pray for me and my side and I will do the same for you. May God Bless all of us in the understanding of our differences....

  24. With all due respect to your dad......... Actually, im just pointing out that you can't explain the Grace of God, and, You can't explain why the Blood Atonement that saved you, keeps you saved. You can't explain this verse. Philippians 1:6 .... "God who started your salvation in you, will Himself be faithful to complete it", because it denies your entire concept of God's salvation, as given as a Gift on the Cross. You can't explain what Jesus meant when He said, just before dying on the Cross. "Its is finished", because you have no idea what was finished. You are a legalist, teaching the heresy that repenting is why people keeps themselves out of Hell. So, this false nonsense denies the Savior's BLOOD ATONEMENT, that is the actual reason the born again don't go to hell. You dont have a clue about "Justification by faith". You are a contradiction to Paul, and you are allowed to waste other believers time here, because the Mods here try generally allow heretics a little bit too much rope and leeway. My advice to you, is to turn from your Cross denying rants, and instead give all the credit due Jesus The Lord for saving the born again, and keeping them saved.

  25. Kind words, always appreciated. Listen, maybe God will call you into His work. You are learning a lot because your ears have been opened. There are a few of you here, who are WIDE AWAKE.... who are tracking correctly and playing the right Gospel tune. God saved us because He loves us, and wants us to be a part of HIMSELF, in His "Body". As "ONE"... And serving Him perfectly, is simply loving Him back with our lives. And if you didnt do that very well today, then do it better tomorrow. Day by day, on the upward way. Christianity is not advanced math that only a few can grasp. Its really a very simple situation... God is Love, He loves Us, He called us home thru the blood of Christ, and We love Him back by adoring His Son and His word, and allowing this Great Love that He puts in us to be an arrow that points to Truth, who is Jesus, so that anyone and everyone we know and meet can become a part of this Truth. When your ears are opened inside your spiritual man, something happens when you hear Grace being preached and Jesus on The Cross being adored,..... you will GLOW.......know what i mean? As far as me, im a lowly foot soldier. Im a nothing. a nobody. But I KNOW WHO IS SOMEBODY, and I lift them up and hold them high.. You do the same, and God will expand you. This Thread's topic is devoted to the idea of "2 different people". and i'll tell you who they really are.... They are those who lift up the Cross and there are those who try to tear it down. Its the born again, and its everybody else. Its the children of God and the children of the Devil. The born again, give Jesus all the Credit for saving them and keeping them saved. The RELIGIOUS rest, give credit to repenting, and commandments, the Torah, the Law, ...and everything else they can DO on their self righteous LIST. But you see, Salvation is not something to do, its instead something that Jesus has already DONE....that is offered and received as a GIFT. Those who work to keep it, have an issue with understanding it, or its not been applied to them at all. Those who are working because it has been done for them.... and want to give back to the Giver of this Gift, are in the right Place.....always.

  26. Thanks for taking the time to edify here, Heleadethme. The Hebrews 6 passage is often wrested or twisted to mean something it doesn't with regard to those who start following Christ in the same way the true believer does but then fall away. It's not that they have been so bad that God won't LET THEM BACK, won't RESTORE THEM, but rather it is because they have no desire to come back, have no intention of being restored, that they cannot be restored. Their own hardened heart prevents it happening. Instead they align with the very people that worked so hard to have Christ crucified, both determined to continue their unrighteous ways without His interference, as they see it.

  30. This is a poem I wrote which was prompted by folks squabbling about Dec 25th. Christmas- Use It for God's glory When was Jesus really born? The Bible isn't clear December 25th is celebrated every year Though pagan in its origins, don't face that day with dread But take what's been corrupted and just honor Christ instead Put His name front and center and be thankful for His birth; Through which God brought salvation when He sent His Son to earth The Word immortal took on flesh to die for you and me Was crucified to save our souls and rose in victory The gospel is the reason that we celebrate the day That Jesus in small Bethlehem was born and slept on hay The King of kings so humbly came to set us free from sin But we all know to conquer death with birth He must begin So let's commemorate our Lord despite the date men set Let's think upon His coming down and choose to not forget How He was once adored by shepherds and alike by sages It's such a wondrous story that's laid down in scriptures' pages It's not about the date. It's about the miracle. Rejoice that the immortal God is born so that mortal man may live in eternity

  31. I was thinking on similar thoughts today. What kind of fisher of men are we? Are we the type of Christian that helps draw others to Christ....or are we the type that drives others away from Christ? As a Christian, I've sometimes (thankfully very rarely) met an ugly Christian. As a Christian, we continue in faith....but consider the person who knows nothing of Christ. Will they be driven away by such behavior? Of course, I like to think that a true believer will always be loving as the Lord taught us to be to each other and also to our neighbors.

  34. I have "repented," ...the Greek word used by Jesus, metanoeō, which means to "change my mind," ...about "who" Jesus is, ...about my "life" and the sin I so enjoyed, ...and about my predestined eternal "destiny" in Hell, ...I "changed my mind" thirty-seven years and five months ago and I haven't "changed my mind" back to what I believed before that "crisis" moment in time, ...not only have I not "changed my mind" about who Jesus is, ..I now have the same "hatred" for the sin I once enjoyed that God has for it, ...and I know my eternal "destiny" is now Heaven and not Hell! Like I have stated, I "have" repented, "changed my mind," my Bible tells me I'm a purchased possession and there is THE "guarantee" living inside of me so that I don't need to "repent" any more, ...it's a one time event, ...for me it's a done deal! God doesn't have to keep "re-buying" His possession that He has already paid for any more than I have to keep "re-buying" the car we bought and paid for 7 years ago or any other "possession" we own after we have bought and paid for them... Lord bless

  35. Dear sister, from down under like me, the answer to how we died with Jesus is answered for us in Hebrews: And if I may say so, Levi, also, who receives tithes, paid tithes in Abraham. for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him. Heb 7:9-10 and... For both He who sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of One, for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying, "I will declare Your name to My brothers; in the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You." And again, "I will put My trust in Him." And again, "Behold Me and the children whom God has given Me." Heb 2:11-13 Since the Word tells us we are called the "children" of Jesus, and then the Holy Spirit writing through Peter tells us how we were conceived: ...having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living Word of God, and abiding forever. 1 Pet 1:23 The incorruptible "seed" being the Holy Spirit, ...and the Word of God being the "ovum," so to speak, just like Levi being in the "loins" of his grandfather Abraham, many years before he was born, so were we in the "loins" of Jesus when he died on the Cross of Calvary, ...roughly 2,000 years before we were born... Lord bless
