  1. Faith is a wonderful and precious devotion. Moses identified himself with God’s people, even renouncing the throne of the pharaohs to be numbered among those poor outcast Jewish slaves. Let me illustrate this from an experience in my own life. I was in Kharkov, a great city in Russia, where the Russians build their tanks and industrial complexes. The Soviet government often takes the church and places it out on the edge of town behind a wall in order to persecute it and hide it away. I wanted to visit the Baptist church in Kharkov on the edge of town. When we went through the door in the wall that hid the church, the pastor and his congregation walked toward us. Walking by my side was the tourist escort, the state–assigned guide of the Russian government. As we faced the approaching pastor and his people, the guide said to me, “Look at them! Look how poor they are; look how ignorant they are! Such trash!” He spoke in contempt of the people. I turned to him and said, “But these are my people. I am one of them, and I want to be numbered as one of them. Poor, ignorant trash? They are God’s people; they are my brothers and sisters. They belong to me, and I belong to them. My life is cast with them.” That is what it is to be a Christian, and that is saving faith. By faith Moses, turning down the allurements and pleasures of Egypt, chose rather to stand with the people of God. …..Pastor Criswell Exodus 2:11 (NIV) 11 One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.

Drawing on data from NSW Bureau of Crime and Statistics and Research, the newspaper reported that “183 people have been charged or cautioned for bushfire-related offences since November 8, and 24 arrested for deliberately starting bushfires.” The extent of the arson is vast, as police have arrested people for lighting bushfires across Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania in the past few months, police data reveals. In Queensland alone, 101 people have been detained for setting fires in the bush, 32 adults and 69 juveniles, police noted. According to professor Janet Stanley of Melbourne University, the arsonists are typically young males, aged 12 to 24, or older men in their 60s. Meanwhile, alarmists have been excitedly pointing to the bush fires as evidence of a worldwide climate emergency caused by fossil fuel emissions. On New Year’s day, the Guardian published an essay by Michael Mann, arguably the world’s preeminent climate alarmist, who said he was “watching climate change in action” while on holiday in Australia. In his article “Australia, your country is burning – dangerous climate change is here with you now,” Mann claimed he was witnessing the devastating effects of climate change “first hand.” Best known for his debunked “hockey stick” graph showing supposedly unprecedented 20th-century global warming after centuries of allegedly stable temperatures, Mann wrote that instead of “vast expanses of rainforest framed by distant blue-tinged mountain ranges,” he looked out into “smoke-filled valleys, with only the faintest ghosts of distant ridges and peaks in the background.” “The brown skies I observed in the Blue Mountains this week are a product of human-caused climate change,” Mann asserted. “The warming of our planet – and the changes in climate associated with it – are due to the fossil fuels we’re burning: oil, whether at midnight or any other hour of the day, natural gas, and the biggest culprit of all, coal,” he declared. Australians “need only wake up in the morning, turn on the television, read the newspaper or look out the window to see what is increasingly obvious to many – for Australia, dangerous climate change is already here,” Mann stated. “Australia is experiencing a climate emergency. It is literally burning,” he said. Well, burning, yes. Man-made, yes. But it’s called arson, not climate change.

  6. After a lot of rather belligerent talk out of various Iranian officials, ie: 1. Stating they made no distinction between the US and Israel....later another Iranian official specifically identified Haifa (Israeli port city) as a target if there was any escalation. I don't know how to read that but as an intentional attempt to drag Israel into all this ..Israel doesn't take direct threats lying down. 2. Promised retaliation on any regional government that allowed the US to attack Iran from their soil. Think Quatar, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain or Saudi Arabia. 3. Finally released a communique that indicated this had been their response to Soleimani's death and specifically stated their response was "complete". That's about the only thing I heard out of Iran that was remotely conciliatory. The complete radio silence coming from the Iraqi government itself is unexpected. Then the ambiguous tweet from Trump .... it all just feels odd. Given who we're dealing with i expected Trump to move fast and hard, and he still might have. There were reports earlier (I didn't mention for lack of corroboration) that six F-35's lifted off from the UAE. I guess we'll find out in the morning

  7. I think it is serious. Ein al-Assad is a major base, huge logistics hub with many flights in and out, both helicopter and fixed wing, and a large contingent of military personnel. British as well as US. Reports are indicating Irbil has been hit by several rockets as well. No word on damage or casualties. Ein al-Assad is huge...sprawling. I guess we can hope damage to infrastructure and equipment is minimal and no casualties. Irbil is the capital of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in far northern Iraq. Irbil also has significant US forces present as well as air assets. Edit to add: Pentagon has confirmed Irbil has been hit

  8. Hi Michael, I think people may become bored because they don`t know what their purpose is in Christ. They may look at the Christian life as attending man`s religious system on Sunday, and then the rest of the week their work. The reality is that everyday is life in Christ, - to get to know Him better, -to become more like Christ addressing wrong thoughts and behaviours, -more opportunities to help those in the Body and those outside. - to watch and see the day approaching and encourage each other all the more. (Heb. 10: 25) regards, Marilyn.

  10. I was hopeful we still had a few months before this ended up on US soil. I am not entertaining that hope any longer. This has escalated more rapidly than I initially guessed it would. It's going to be a long night. The globalists seem to be in a bigger hurry than I thought. I suspect US response will come rapidly. Trump is supposed to do a public address within the hour. Edit: Now they seem to be walking back the statement about Trump addressing the nation.

  11. It really is a question to each of us. The old question, "What's in your wallet" makes us stop and think. This was not me however, but the pastor at the end I gave credit to. I have thought many times what I would do in light of, and especially when I read in Heb 12:4: "In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood...." It's easy until we think about what Peter might have thought when he denied Christ three times.

When something was said that the women didn't understand, they would call out to their husband asking, "what does he mean.?" The women were asked to "keep silent" till they were at home and ask for explanations there in the privacy of their homes, at least, that is my understanding of the situation, God bless.

  15. If I might present a thought?? Only if something other than righteousness is being sought after, can and do things get boring. For if righteousness in all things is the only thing sought after, life and all it’s doings will forever not be boring. For things can get boring but not righteousness. For righteousness is like the counting of numbers, regardless of how high you count, there is still an eternity of numbers that can be counted. Therefore righteousness will forever be fresh and new each and every day if it is the only thing sought after in this life, as shall be manifested in the next. (Food for thought.) In Christ, Not me

  16. Shalom brother, Yes, at some stage a war will come. Either in our generation or the next. Still, what a great sentiment you have put in your post and an excellent reminder that firstly, we should pray for our leaders, and secondly that all of this is within His control and moving according to His schedule. Amen. I love that verse. Love & Shalom

  17. I honestly just interpret it as a humorous quote that has a grain of truth to it. Einstein was a pretty smart guy in a lot of respects. I'm pretty sure he understood that actual insanity is a complicated thing that can manifest in many different ways, thus the likelihood that he never meant for it to be taken seriously.

  18. Hi Joe, Not all Israelis head for the mountains. Remember 2/3rds are killed as the world armies come down from Armageddon to Jerusalem. (Zech. 13: 8) Now follow on from Ez. 39: 7 & 8 we get to `Then those who dwell in the cities will go out and set on fire and burn the weapons....for 7 years.` So the burning for 7 years follows God saying He will not let His Holy name be profaned any more. Thus the Tribulation! The nations see the near annihilation of the Russian Federation etc but they choose to accept the Peace negotiator as man always thinks he can solve his own problems. As to the `birds, and the earthquake,` they are common to both. However in Ez. 38: 19 & 20 the earthquake is `in the land of Israel, ` while the earthquake just before the Lord comes is world wide with every city falling `the cities of the nations fell.` (v. 19) (utterly amazing.) (Rev. 16: 17 - 21) You are doing well to look into the details. Keep the questions coming, as I am enjoying looking at God`s word with you. regards, Marilyn.

  19. Well conspiracies will have plenty of fodder to work with. This is the official twitter feed of a news outlet in Amman, Jordan Google Translate renders the first tweet as: " # Iran - News of the Ukrainian plane crashing as a result of its injury" " By an Iranian missile by mistake " _____________________________ Given that the Iranian Prime Minister tweeted a "reminder" of the Iran Air airliner that was shot down by the USS Vincennes in 1988....yeah...plenty of conspiracy fodder. Rouhani points to US downing of Iranian airliner in response to Trump threat The Iranian president was referring to the incident when Iran Air Flight 655 was shot down over the Persian Gulf.

  22. You must read the quote in context of the entire chapter and the entire book. Paul is talking to a church that is a SUPER hot mess. They " boasted" in the immorality of their chuch. The stuffed their faces with the Lord's Supper as if it is a family meal or wine tasting. The worship services are chaotic. And more. Chapter 14 [beginning in verse 26] says 3 groups of people must keep silent and stop the chaos. Most of those speaking in tongues. He says ONLY two or three, one at a time, and only if there is an interpreter. If there is no interpreter, those speaking in tongues must "keep silent". Most of those with a prophetic word. Only two or three with a prophecy [word from God] may speak and the whole congregation must weigh the words. If one person is speaking and prophesying and a second person stands to prophecy, then the first person must "keep silent". As for women "keeping silent", Paul has already said in chapter 11 that women may pray and prophecy in a worship service as long as their heads are covered. So - what is he talking about in chapter 14? I thinks it's clear cut. It's the wives asking questions out loud. Husbands were accustomed to participating in synagogue. Wives were not accustomed to corporate worship. These particular wives were asking too many questions out loud and he said for them to ask their husbands at home. Read the whole of 1 Corinthians. The church was in bad shape. Chaos reigned. Paul told them how to modify their worship services so that peace and orderliness reigned.

  23. I hope "All is well" and "so far so good" are indicating no US personnel were killed or injured....but I agree, failing to address the issue of casualties specifically is inadequate and insufficient. I really don't know what to make of that tweet....Trump was loudly proclaiming he'd respond if Iran attacked just a few hours before they did. I'm guessing one of two things happened. Either he ordered a response and will talk about it in the morning, or he's taken this opportunity to de-escalate. I really don't have a clue which is the more likely. The whole situation kinda closed out the day in a way that feels very odd to me. Even if there are no US casualties, the failure to address Iraqi casualties seems awfully boorish behavior.

  27. Doesn't seem so. In the last few decades, we've seen Dozens of transitional fossils predicted by evolutionary theory turn up. Analysis of organic molecules found in a T. rex shows dinosaurs to be more closely related to birds than to other reptiles. Natural selection has been shown to be the cause of adaptive evolution. A majority of Americans (55%) believe humans evolved from other animals. About 0.3% of scientists with doctorates in biology or a related field don't accept evolutionary theory. (not 3%, three-tenths of a percent; data shown on request) Having majorities think so, would be one indication, yes. Most Americans reject the deistic YE creationist beliefs of those who want to have "design" instead of a Creator. The YE creationists who think evolution is in trouble, are those ignorant of the evidence, and those YE creationists who do know the facts, admit that there is a great deal of evidence for evolution. Ignorance is the enemy. Not if you want to know the truth. Evolution is not a theory in crisis. It is not teetering on the verge of collapse. It has not failed as a scientific explanation. There is evidence for evolution, gobs and gobs of it. It is not just speculation or a faith choice or an assumption or a religion. It is a productive framework for lots of biological research, and it has amazing explanatory power. There is no conspiracy to hide the truth about the failure of evolution. There has really been no failure of evolution as a scientific theory. It works, and it works well. I say these things not because I'm crazy or because I've "converted" to evolution. I say these things because they are true. I'm motivated this morning by reading yet another clueless, well-meaning person pompously declaring that evolution is a failure. People who say that are either unacquainted with the inner workings of science or unacquainted with the evidence for evolution. (Technically, they could also be deluded or lying, but that seems rather uncharitable to say. Oops.) Creationist students, listen to me very carefully: There is evidence for evolution, and evolution is an extremely successful scientific theory. That doesn't make it ultimately true, and it doesn't mean that there could not possibly be viable alternatives. It is my own faith choice to reject evolution, because I believe the Bible reveals true information about the history of the earth that is fundamentally incompatible with evolution. I am motivated to understand God's creation from what I believe to be a biblical, creationist perspective. Evolution itself is not flawed or without evidence. Please don't be duped into thinking that somehow evolution itself is a failure. Please don't idolize your own ability to reason. Faith is enough. YE Creationist and scientist Dr. Todd Wood http://toddcwood.blogspot.com/2009/09/truth-about-evolution.html God isn't neutral on this, BTW: Know the truth, and the truth will set you free. God is truth, and a Christian should never be afraid of the truth. /

  28. I don't think that's a very likely scenario. There is certainly a "layer" of globalist decision makers pulling the strings of the US and Iran, but at that nation/state layer, this is definitely open confrontation. I think it's still a bit early to determine that only Iraqi personnel have been hurt or killled, but even if that is confirmed, ballistic missiles are not a weapon system capable of hitting targets with that kind of selectivity.

I'll just comment that the Bible is expressly clear on the roles and qualifications of Pastors, Elders, Deacon's; the role, activities and conduct of men and women in the family and church leadership, all in relation to Jesus Christ our Lord. Paul never misspoke; I know of only 'once' where Paul gave a personal opinion. And that was if a man should get married or not and risking fornication.

If it does turn out they were ballistic missiles fired from Iran,....well...i hope that's wrong.

  36. Hi Joe, To keep silent, means not meddlesomeness. If we also look at 1 Tim. 2: 11 Paul says the same thing. It is in relation to women talking out of turn and interfering in the gathering. Remember that Paul says when we gather that EACH ONE BRING a psalm, a hymn a spiritual song, etc, and also that women can prophecy. The word relates to being `meddlesome` in a meeting which women can tend to do in a small group. Marilyn.

  37. Not going to war. This is just politics. Well, maybe we will go to war if he thinks it will help him politically. He doesn’t care about soldiers dying. Every immoral president does something outlandish once they get impeached. Although there’s not a lot of evidence of this since only three have ever been impeached. As far as people “hating” the President, the other side said the same thing about certain people hating Clinton when he was president. It took attention away from his misdeeds. Mike Flynn is back in the news today. He may be on his way to prison. How many people in Trump’s inner circle have been convicted? But I guess that is because the media hates Trump.

  38. Well brother, we do have the promise of one thing. The other two things are not mentioned in God's word. This one is, however. 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

  39. exactly . one thing , wait two things I know for sure . Number one . man can hate us , curse us , afflict us , put us in prison , even kill us , BUT GOD IS always in control and HE will give us all consolation through whatever comes against us . Number two , Again GOD is in control . AND ONLY HE can destroy both body and soul in hell fire . SO , IF WE HAVE JESUS and love HIM , We got our ticket out of that place . AND WE HAVE ALL HOPE , because of WHAT HE DID FOR US . So while its true that man can do us much harm , ITS TRUE GOD WILL ALWAYS BE WITH US and no matter what we suffer even sickness wise , HE IS WITH US and SHALL BE WITH US . ALL who hold their hope IN HIM FIRM TO THE END , THEY WERE HIS LAMBS . And their END IS GOOD . ALL I HEAR IS A TOTAL PRAISE FEST TO THE LORD that needs to get sung and we continue ON IN HIM , by the power of HIS GRACE , HEEDING and OBEYING the author of our faith to the end .

When we are anxious, afraid, worried about something specific, or non specific, the Lord is strenuous in saying to us that it is HIS job to comfort us. They come against us to rob us of our love joy and peace, as the enemy comes to lie, steal and destroy. We should not entertain those thoughts but a strong "get behind me satan" might help. "Resist the devil and he will flee from you." Jas 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Jas 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. 46. John 11:32-37 32 Therefore, when Mary came where Jesus was, she saw Him, and fell at His feet, saying to Him, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died." 33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her, also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit, and was troubled, 34 and said, "Where have you laid him?" They said to Him, "Lord, come and see." 35 Jesus wept. 36 And so the Jews were saying, "Behold how He loved him!" 37 But some of them said, "Could not this man, who opened the eyes of him who was blind, have kept this man also from dying?" NASB This is my favorite section of scripture because I find it intriguing. Jesus is about to raise someone he knows from the dead and yet he wept just before doing so..... I have to ask myself why would he do that... I am just fascinated by the things that our Lord did.

  48. Hi, I do not have a favorite verse, nor favorite passage. I do go to the guidance of the Holy Spirit as I read, pray, and try to read as study as well as for pleasurable worship. I actually tend to fear the versification of God's word by man as often being used to justify behavior and thought it was never intended to justify. Far as I can tell isolating a portion of God into a verse is a most dangerous way to be led into action. As to whole books of thought, I suppose my absolute favorite contains the 23rd Psalm. Perhaps because it is David that is writing it( The 23rd Psalm), with all his turmoils and history and faults He is secure and counts on that security with his life. It is likely written when he was older and is also prophetic in message. He is secure in God. The Lord Is My Shepherd A Psalm of David. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Merry Christmas Kenzie and all on the Board.
