You need to also simply try things yourself to see what works and what doesn't, and pray for wisdom from the great healer himself.... because shockingly... sometimes he knows things doctors do not. I know crazy thought....

  13. I appreciate very much your sharing, and at length. I'm glad you opened your heart to me. You are kind. I will try to keep my replies succinct: 1) I agree about "do you think a man could say "I keep the 10 commandments" but ignore the Sabbath?". But I don't keep the 10 or even try to. I try to avoid lust, not just adultery, and anger, not just murder. It is also vital to consider that only 9 of the decalogue are repeated in the NT, the Sabbath isn't. 2) I'm a Jewish Christian and avoid the kind of silliness you are advocating against here about hypocrisy. 3) I didn't mean to imply pagan Christmas is a special day, but I did point out that it's silly to think, I can love Jesus more (or less) because it's a pagan day. Indeed, rather than hide from Halloween, I'd take my kids "trick or tracting" for an easy way to share with dozens of families in a short time. 4) A key point of the NT seems to be that no one keeps 100% or even 99% of Torah, otherwise Yeshua could skip the cross and tell us to be saved by works of Torah. 5) Paul warns us of straying from the simplicity in Christ that deceived Adam and Eve. I try to keep it simple. Of course he wasn't speaking against Sabbath, since he kept the Sabbath. But we have to be careful in hermeneutics as to what the Bible doesn't say. It doesn't say, "Beware of those pagan days" and it doesn't say, "Don't keep the Sabbath". What it does say is that people have weaker or stronger faith, regarding, for key examples, food and days of observance. If one is fully convinced in one's mind, such observance or lack of observance is of faith or lacks faith and is sin. It may be sinful to you to work on Shabbos, to me, it's another day. I cannot therefore benefit from keeping Shabbos, although I get some things from keeping it while in Israel or with Orthodox folks of good repute... 6) After all, my good news is "As a Jew, I moved from salvation by works of Torah to salvation trusting Yeshua," not "I moved from salvation by works of Torah to really, really, really difficult salvation by trying to keep 100% of Torah and 100% of NT precepts," which is really BAD news for sinners. 7) I have family who don't eat traif who are born again. However, I eat bacon and shellfish and agree it passes through my system. It's my heart that is far more bothersome to me!

  14. I do kill, and slaughter my own meat on a regular basis, in a lot less sanitary environment then a slaughterhouse as I'm a hunter. I do it all by hand either on my pickup bed or hanging from a clothesline or tree, whatever is handiest. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. So to answer your question I have absolutely no issue with slaughterhouses. Or eating meat. I'll Chow down on a good steak from Ruby Tuesday's just as fast as my home made deer jerky. God gave us meat to eat-i say eat it. With that said, I do think that people today do take their food for granted. And if for whatever reason they lost access to the supermarket-would be at a complete loss. I think it would be good for everyone to go hunting-or at least accompany a hunter on a trip-at least once in their lives. It will give people a higher appreciation for the food they eat.

  15. I'm against New Years, it has pagan origins ya know. Celebrating a secular calendar event, harrumph! Actually, I am praying for the poor neighboring family that engaged in their first domestic hollering match at 4:00 AM this New Years Day. The New Year's Eve Party party there lasted until 3:00 AM today with people being loudly rowdy, got a bit quieter for an hour then wham the fight was on. So very sad. What a way to begin, or continue I suppose last years trespasses. Would have been such a good time to begin forgiving one to another. Maybe there is a lesson in it, right now it is just an experience that kept me up once again on New years eve, seems that way around here each year for 41 years now. Amazing same household, new generations taking up the old family habits. Booze it then fight and finally pass out for a day. May God the Holy Spirit intervene and bring them to a happier way to live. May the generational cycle be broken up and joy that is sustainable come to them that they may be happier.

  17. That's true, and it's really shocking. All these medications that are meant to either cure us or ease our diseases and distresses have such potential for killing us in the process. Here's the latest on Zantac which is for acid reflux and other stomach related issues. This doesn't even mention all the potential diseases it can cause. FDA Updates and Press Announcements on NDMA in Zantac (ranitidine) Update [1/8/2020] FDA is alerting patients and health care professionals to two voluntary recalls of ranitidine. The medicines are being recalled because they may contain unacceptable levels of N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA). Appco Pharma LLC is voluntarily recalling prescription ranitidine hydrochloride capsules. Northwind Pharmaceuticals is voluntarily recalling prescription ranitidine tablets (150 mg and 300 mg), manufactured by Glenmark Pharmaceutical Inc. FDA has advised companies to recall their ranitidine if testing shows levels of NDMA above the acceptable daily intake (96 nanograms per day or 0.32 parts per million for ranitidine). The agency posted the results of its testing of ranitidine samples and has asked companies to conduct their own laboratory testing. Patients taking prescription ranitidine who wish to stop should talk to their health care professional about other treatment options. Multiple drugs are approved for the same or similar uses as ranitidine. 1/8/2020: STATEMENT – FDA alerts health care professionals and patients to Mylan’s voluntary recall of nizatidine Update [1/8/2020] The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is alerting health care professionals and consumers to Mylan’s voluntary recall of prescription nizatidine capsules. The medicines may contain unacceptable levels of the nitrosamine, N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA). Nizatidine is a commonly prescribed antacid. NDMA is a known environmental contaminant found in water and certain foods. Genotoxic substances such as NDMA may increase the risk of cancer if people are exposed to them above acceptable levels and over long periods of time, but a person taking a drug that contains NDMA at-or-below the acceptable daily intake limit every day for 70 years is not expected to have an increased risk of cancer. In September 2019, FDA announced it had become aware of laboratory testing that found low levels of NDMA in the heartburn medicine, ranitidine, which is chemically similar to nizatidine. FDA has been testing samples of both ranitidine and nizatidine. The agency has also asked manufacturers of the drugs to conduct their own laboratory testing to assess levels of NDMA in their products and to send samples to FDA to be tested by our scientists. FDA will recommend recalls to manufacturers of ranitidine and nizatidine with NDMA levels above the acceptable daily intake limit (96 nanograms per day). There are multiple drugs that are approved for the same or similar uses as ranitidine and nizatidine. Patients taking prescription ranitidine or nizatidine who wish to stop use should talk to their health care professional about other treatment options. If you are taking one of the recalled medicines, you should follow the recall instructions provided by the company. This information is on the FDA’s website. FDA has been investigating NDMA and other nitrosamine impurities in blood pressure and heart failure medicines called Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers (ARBs) since 2018. FDA has recommended numerous recalls of ARBs as it discovered unacceptable levels of nitrosamines. FDA is committed to helping assure the medicines Americans take are safe and effective. When we identify lapses in the quality of drugs that pose potential risks for patients, FDA makes every effort to understand the issues and provide our best recommendation to the public as quickly and accurately as possible. FDA will continue to investigate and work to make certain these types of impurities do not exceed acceptable limits, so that patients can continue taking their medicines without concern. The agency will provide timely updates throughout the investigation. FDA encourages health care professionals and patients to report adverse reactions or quality problems with any human drugs to the agency’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program: Complete and submit the report online at www.fda.gov/medwatch/report.htm; or Download and complete the form, then submit it via fax at 1-800-FDA-0178 12/18/2019: UPDATE - FDA alerts patients and health care professionals to Glenmark’s voluntary recall of ranitidine Update [12/18/2019] FDA is alerting patients and health care professionals to Glenmark Pharmaceutical Inc.’s voluntary recall of prescription ranitidine tablets (150 mg and 300 mg). The medicines are being recalled because they may contain unacceptable levels of N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA). Patients taking prescription ranitidine who wish to stop should talk to their health care professional about other treatment options. Multiple drugs are approved for the same or similar uses as ranitidine. 12/4/2019: UPDATE – FDA requires additional testing of ranitidine and nizatidine as part of agency’s ongoing effort to help ensure product safety for patients and consumers Update [12/4/2019] Over the past several weeks, FDA has communicated about the detection of an impurity known as N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) in common heartburn medications (ranitidine, commonly known as Zantac, and nizatidine) available over the counter or by prescription. We have launched an investigation to understand the cause of this impurity in these drugs and to provide information for patients and consumers who take them. As part of this investigation, we have asked manufacturers to conduct their own laboratory testing to examine levels of NDMA in ranitidine and nizatidine and to send us samples to be tested by our scientists. Today, we are announcing that we have asked manufacturers of ranitidine and nizatidine products to expand their testing for NDMA to include all lots of the medication before making them available to consumers. If testing shows NDMA above the acceptable daily intake limit (96 nanograms per day or 0.32 parts per million for ranitidine), the manufacturer must inform the agency and should not release the lot for consumer use. We continue to work with industry and regulatory agencies around the world to determine the reasons for NDMA in these drugs and have developed and posted multiple testing methods to identify NDMA in ranitidine. Our scientists have determined ranitidine does not form NDMA in typical stomach conditions. However, we need further investigation to fully test how ranitidine and nizatidine behave in the human body and have plans to study this. There is also some evidence that there may be a link between the presence of nitrites and the formation of NDMA in the body if ranitidine or nizatidine is also present. Because of this, consumers who wish to continue taking these drugs should consider limiting their intake of nitrite-containing foods, e.g. processed meats and preservatives like sodium nitrite. Consumers may also consider alternative treatments that are approved for the same or similar uses as ranitidine and nizatidine. To date, FDA’s testing has not found NDMA in Pepcid (famotidine), Tagamet (cimetidine), Nexium (esomeprazole), Prevacid (lansoprazole), or Prilosec (omeprazole). 11/22/2019: UPDATE – FDA alerts patients and health care professionals to two repackagers’ voluntary recalls of ranitidine Update [11/22/2019] FDA is alerting patients and health care professionals to two repackagers’ voluntary recalls of ranitidine. These medications contain unacceptable levels of N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA). FDA has advised companies to recall their ranitidine if testing shows levels of NDMA above the acceptable daily intake (96 nanograms per day or 0.32 parts per million for ranitidine). Consumers may not know if the OTC ranitidine in their homes contains NDMA above the acceptable daily intake level because these recalls have been to the retail level, meaning they were only removed from store shelves. The NDMA levels FDA found are similar to the levels a consumer would expect to be exposed to when eating common foods like grilled and smoked meats. Consumers taking OTC ranitidine may consider using other OTC products approved for their condition. FDA’s tests of samples of alternatives such as Pepcid (famotidine), Tagamet (cimetidine), Nexium (esomeprazole), Prevacid (lansoprazole) and Prilosec (omeprazole) show no NDMA in the medicines to date. Patients taking prescription ranitidine who wish to stop should talk to their health care professional about other treatment options. Multiple drugs are approved for the same or similar uses as ranitidine. 11/1/2019: STATEMENT - Statement from Janet Woodcock, M.D., director of FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research on new testing results, including low levels of impurities in ranitidine drugs Go to FDA Statement 11/1/2019: UPDATE - Laboratory testing results for NDMA in ranitidine Go to Laboratory Tests | Ranitidine 10/28/19: UPDATE - FDA alerts health care professionals and patients to multiple voluntary recalls of ranitidine Update [10/28/19] The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is alerting health care professionals and patients to three voluntary recalls of ranitidine. Refer to the FDA’s recalls webpage for up-to-date information about recalls of ranitidine. Patients taking prescription ranitidine who wish to stop should talk to their health care professional about other treatment options. Consumers taking OTC ranitidine, which is used to prevent and relieve heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach, may consider using other OTC products approved for their condition. FDA’s testing of samples of alternatives such as Pepcid (famotidine), Tagamet (cimetidine), Nexium (esomeprazole), Prevacid (lansoprazole), and Prilosec (omeprazole) show no NDMA in these medicines. 10/23/19: UPDATE - FDA releases additional NDMA testing method and alerts health care professionals and patients to multiple voluntary recalls of ranitidine Update [10/23/19] The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is releasing a second liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC- MS) method for manufacturers and regulators to detect and quantify NDMA in ranitidine. The agency is using this method to test potential NDMA-containing ranitidine samples. The second LC-MS method for NDMA in ranitidine uses a more widely available technology than the first posted method. The agency is sharing the second method to provide alternatives to firms wishing to test their drug products for NDMA. FDA is also alerting health care professionals and patients to two voluntary recalls of ranitidine: Patients taking prescription ranitidine who wish to stop should talk to their health care professional about other treatment options. Consumers taking OTC ranitidine, which is used to prevent and relieve heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach, may consider using other OTC products approved for their condition. FDA’s preliminary tests of alternatives such as Pepcid (famotidine), Tagamet (cimetidine), Nexium (esomeprazole), Prevacid (lansoprazole), and Prilosec (omeprazole) show no NDMA in these tested medicines at this time. FDA continues to evaluate the safety of ranitidine and will provide more information as it becomes available. See Questions and Answers: NDMA impurities in ranitidine (commonly known as Zantac) for more information. 10/2/19: UPDATE - FDA provides update on testing of ranitidine for NDMA impurities Update [10/2/19] FDA is continuing to test ranitidine products from multiple manufacturers and is assessing the potential impact on patients who have been taking ranitidine. In addition, the agency has asked manufacturers of ranitidine to conduct their own laboratory testing to assess levels of NDMA in their ranitidine products and to send samples of ranitidine products to FDA to be tested by our scientists. FDA observed the testing method used by a third-party laboratory uses higher temperatures. The higher temperatures generated very high levels of NDMA from ranitidine products because of the test procedure. FDA published the method for testing angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) for nitrosamine impurities. That method is not suitable for testing ranitidine because heating the sample generates NDMA. FDA recommends using an LC-HRMS testing protocol to test samples of ranitidine. FDA’s LC-HRMS testing method does not use elevated temperatures and has shown the presence of much lower levels of NDMA in ranitidine medicines than reported by the third-party laboratory. International regulators using similar LC-MS testing methods have also shown the presence of low levels of NDMA in ranitidine samples. FDA will test ranitidine oral solution products and has begun testing samples of other H2 blockers and proton-pump inhibitors to help inform this ongoing investigation. To date, the agency’s early, limited testing has found unacceptable levels of NDMA in samples of ranitidine. The agency will provide more information as it becomes available. 9/26/19: STATEMENT - FDA alerts health care professionals and patients to voluntary recall of ranitidine medicines [9/26/19] The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is alerting health care professionals and patients to a voluntary recall of over-the-counter (OTC) ranitidine tablets (75 mg and 150 mg), labeled by Walgreens, Walmart, and Rite-Aid and manufactured by Apotex Corp. These medicines may contain low levels of a nitrosamine impurity called N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA). Consumers taking OTC ranitidine, which is used to prevent and relieve heartburn associated with acid ingestion and sour stomach, may consider using other OTC products approved for their condition. NDMA is classified as a probable human carcinogen (a substance that could cause cancer) based on results from laboratory tests. NDMA is a known environmental contaminant and found in water and foods, including meats, dairy products and vegetables. This recall follows a recent FDA statement about NDMA impurities detected in ranitidine medicines. The agency also recently alerted patients and health care professionals of Sandoz Inc.’s voluntary recall of prescription ranitidine hydrochloride capsules due to an NDMA impurity on Sept. 23. What patients should know What health care professionals should know FDA’s actions FDA is continuing to test ranitidine products from multiple manufacturers and assess the possible effect on patients who have been taking ranitidine. Additionally, FDA recently posted a testing method, which can be used by regulators and industry to detect nitrosamine impurities in ranitidine. FDA has asked ranitidine manufacturers to conduct laboratory testing to examine levels of NDMA in ranitidine and to send samples of ranitidine to the agency to be tested by our scientists. FDA will take appropriate measures based on the results of this ongoing investigation. Some manufacturers have chosen to stop distribution of ranitidine as a precautionary measure while the FDA and other international regulators conduct their investigations of the NDMA impurity. FDA continues to evaluate the safety of ranitidine and will provide more information as it becomes available. Consumers and health care professionals should report any adverse reactions with ranitidine to the FDA's MedWatch program to help the agency better understand the scope of the problem: 9/24/2019: PRESS RELEASE - FDA announces voluntary recall of Sandoz ranitidine capsules following detection of an impurity Go to FDA Press Release 9/13/2019 : STATEMENT - Statement alerting patients and health care professionals of NDMA found in samples of ranitidine Go to FDA Statement Golden State Medical Supply voluntarily recalled ranitidine capsules (150mg and 300mg), manufactured by Novitium. 18. Be careful lest you find you fit into this verse.... 2 Peter 3:3-4 (NKJV) knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation." That could well speak to those who would ridicule and make fun of the idea that the righteous that make up the church of Messiah are removed at the point before the Time of Jacob's Trouble begins. Notice that Jeremiah 30 says it is the time of Jacob's Trouble, not the time of the Chruch's trouble. And there are differing saints. OT saints, church saints, tribulation saints. Yeshua even set some of that delineation in.... Matthew 16:18 (NKJV) And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. Operative, being "I will build". That is future tense so it relegates the saints that came before Acts 2 as OT saints, not of the church. Redeemed yes, but not the church proper which is also called the body of Messiah and also the bride of Messiah. The parable of the pearl (Matthew 13) is a good illustration of the Church as it is today. A pearl is from an oyster, which is non kosher. The church is primarily of a gentile construct today, i.e. non kosher. A pearl is created in the oyster as a response to irritation, the church grows as a response to irritation and persecution in the world. The pearl, like the church, grows by accretion, and then then it is removed and placed as an item of adornment. Much as the church / bride of Messiah is removed and becomes an item of adornment. And Messiah paid the high price to purchase that pearl with His own blood. That also ties into the 1st century Hebrew marriage ritual which is a great study. Yeshua was fond of alluding to the Hebrew marriage. When a potential groom would come to take a bride, they would agree to the covenant between them and a cup of wine would be shared. Yeshua did that at the last supper. Then the groom would pay the dowry or price for his bride. Yeshua did that at the cross. Then the groom would go back to his home to begin preparation of the wedding chamber. Yeshua said He would be doing that in John 14. The groom in not allowed to go retrieve his bride until his father approved of the wedding chamber. So a potential groom, when asked when the marriage would be consummated, he would respond "only my father knows". Yeshua said the same in several passages that only the Father knows the time. When it came time, the groom went to gather his bride. He would not enter her house, but call for her to come out to Him. Paul stated as much in 1 Thessalonians 4. The groom and bride would return to the wedding chamber and remain there for 7 days / one week (Daniel 9 comes to mind), consummating the marriage. At the end of the 7 days, they would return and the wedding feast would begin. The 7 day period would allow those who were invited to wedding feast to make ready. You can find a lot of info from some very good Jewish and Messianic scholars on the 1st century Hebrew marriage ritual that supports this view.

  19. Basicly. As human beings, we all need to feel loved. If you are struggling then give one of your friends a hug. A mutual hug. Love seems to send the demons packing probably because of 1 John 4:18. Pray to Jesus that you would feel loved. You need it. No direct answer then if you have no one then imagine cuddling a big friendly soft polar bear from another world. I think it is your main need actually and without it you will go loopy.

  21. Where does the Bible say we can't celebrate New Year's Day? The fact of the matter is, there are countless pagan customs that are completely harmless and that Christians can participate in without sinning or offending God. Do you follow the Olympics? That began as a pagan festival to worship the Greek god, Zeus. Wedding rings are a pagan custom - as is throwing confetti over newly-weds and the bride throwing a bouquet of flowers over her shoulder. Celebrating birthdays is also a pagan custom. Every culture today has ancient pagan customs that are harmless to Christians.

  24. Well, it is true that the scripture uses many forms of rhetorical devices, with allegory being one of them. But unless it is clearly an allegory, like the following, it is not wise to default to an allegorical interpretation.... Ruth 2:12 (NKJV) The Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge." The Lord is not one who has feathers. So the "wings" is allegorical. But in most cases, if the plain sense of the passage makes sense, then seek no other sense, lest one ends up with nonsense. And Revelation, for instance, is 404 verses with over 500 references to the OT alone. What may appear to be allegorical may in fact be defined earlier in scripture. I would contend the opposite, that not taking the scripture literal enough is what leads to much confusion. If one defaults to allegorical methodology, it then becomes too subjective. Oh, if you were to talk to many Jewish theologians, the "wings" of the passage above has a meaning of the tzitzit of the prayer shawl. Those fringes or tzitzit on the prayer shawl are sometimes referenced as "wings". And that would fit the passage from Ruth quite well.

From there they are judged and then cast into the lake of fire. Rev_20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Rev_20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 30. Renee, dear sister, ...the President of the United States has "not" been impeached, and He won't be impeached because the House refuses to send the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate, ...it's the Senate that decides whether the President is guilty and needs to be Impeached, not the House, ...just saying... Dear sister, also, Jesus told us to judge with "Righteous" judgement, ...even though Mike Flynn had a trial, he was deprived of his rights, the same "rights" you or I would want if we were in court. Beloved, I'm not saying this in a "political" sense, so please don't take it that way, ...but rather as a response to the problem you spoke of, ...please do "receive" it in the love Christ, from your brother in Christ. Precious, ...the sanctification process the Holy Spirit takes us through is to conform us into the "image" of Jesus Christ. Please think of it like this illustration, ...we are like a quart bottle filled with coins, ...after we are born again the Holy Spirit fills the bottle with water, but it can't hold very much because of all the coins in it, so the Holy Spirit allows trials, tests and tribulation to come into our lives, ...until we cry out in desperation for Him to "take" control in what ever area in our lives He wants to clean up, like removing some coins from the bottle so it can hold more water, ...the more coins are removed the more water the bottle can hold, ...the more we allow the Holy Spirit to control our lives the more of His character will be evident in our lives, ...since God is love, Jesus is Love and the Holy Spirit is Love, ...the more we allow the Holy Spirit to overcome our old carnal nature, the more of His Love will be evident in our lives, and the more we allow the Holy Spirit to rule, reign and control or lives the more we will "look and see" at the world with Love the way Jesus does, ...being ""conformed" into the image of our Lord, ...Jesus Christ. One more thing to consider my sister, ...this thread was posted as a "trigger," ...where is the love of Christ in it, ...how could it possibly, edify, build up and unify the the Body of Christ??? Eph 4:12 May our Lord richly bless you...

  33. You must read the quote in context of the entire chapter and the entire book. Paul is talking to a church that is a SUPER hot mess. They " boasted" in the immorality of their chuch. The stuffed their faces with the Lord's Supper as if it is a family meal or wine tasting. The worship services are chaotic. And more. Chapter 14 [beginning in verse 26] says 3 groups of people must keep silent and stop the chaos. Most of those speaking in tongues. He says ONLY two or three, one at a time, and only if there is an interpreter. If there is no interpreter, those speaking in tongues must "keep silent". Most of those with a prophetic word. Only two or three with a prophecy [word from God] may speak and the whole congregation must weigh the words. If one person is speaking and prophesying and a second person stands to prophecy, then the first person must "keep silent". As for women "keeping silent", Paul has already said in chapter 11 that women may pray and prophecy in a worship service as long as their heads are covered. So - what is he talking about in chapter 14? I thinks it's clear cut. It's the wives asking questions out loud. Husbands were accustomed to participating in synagogue. Wives were not accustomed to corporate worship. These particular wives were asking too many questions out loud and he said for them to ask their husbands at home. Read the whole of 1 Corinthians. The church was in bad shape. Chaos reigned. Paul told them how to modify their worship services so that peace and orderliness reigned.

  35. Brilliant!!! See, for that the LORD hath given you the Sabbath, therefore He giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. Exo 16:29 Okay all you "Sabbath" keepers, ...do you "obey" the command to stay in your houses, ...or do you leave and "assemble" in a building somewhere??? Please answer us, ...you teach us to "obey" the Law, ...do you? Can anyone else see this? "abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of His place on the seventh day." My "place" and every born again child of God, is "in" Christ, ..."in Christ" is mentioned 78 times in the New Testament, it's our "position," where we are spiritually, ...it's a Biblical FACT! Now please, consider this, "with God a day is like a 1,000 years and 1,000 years is like a day," with God, ...not man, ...for man a day is 24 hours, ...we are in the seventh Millennium since creation, ...we are "in" the Seventh Day in God's way of looking at time. So: Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today if you will hear His voice, Heb 3:7 The Holy Spirit used the word "today" in the Book of Hebrews 8 times; 1. We are living in the "seventh" day as God considers time. 2. The Holy Spirit used the word "today" eight times in His Book, ...He use the number 8 to signify "new" beginnings. 3. The Church began during the seventh day. 4. The Holy Spirit tells us in Hebrews the spiritual meaning of His Sabbath. 5. Jesus came and took on the "form of a man during the seventh day and became our "Sabbath" rest. I have nothing against "Sabbath" keepers, if that's your thing then do it, ...just please respect the Word of God and don't judge Col 2:16 us who don't and have found our rest in Jesus, ..and please don't try and make proselytes to your way of believing when the Bible tells us not to, ...please let everyone allow the Holy Spirit to teach them the Truth. 1 John 2:27 Lord bless

  36. It's in the book, my friend and of course Jewish tradition. Many think it's based on Joshua. Josh. 3:4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.” Others think it relates to going out for manna. Ex. 16:27 Now it happened that some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather, but they found none. 28 And the LORD said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My laws? 29 See! For the LORD has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you on the sixth day bread for two days. Let every man remain in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.” 30 So the people rested on the seventh day. Then there is this. Acts 1:12 Then they areturned to Jerusalem from the 1bmount called 2Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a 3Sabbath day’s journey away. Just how do you 'keep' the Sabbath? No work, for you, your house and anyone you have authority over? Holy---separated out entirely for the Lord and His purpose. How do you measure the day? How do you yourself 'keep' it? It seems that the apostles that walked with Jesus were aware of a Sabbath journey. Do you discount this and interpret it to fit your own adherence? By what authority do you determine these things? How do you know just what is the 'right' way to observe the Sabbath. These things are just a taste of the difficulty of a principle of 'law'. Jesus was clear when He himself raised the bar when talking about murder and adultery in the heart. He paid the price to free us from these chains.

  37. You used the word 'contest'. Many things--indeed all things are debated and will continue to be debated. That fact doesn't validate or invalidate a thing. Everything that Paul taught can be rendered down to principles and validated throughout scripture as a whole. Once the basic principles are understood the picture becomes clear as a bell and easily explained. This doesn't mean that all ears will hear. That is as inevitable as the Truth itself. Regarding the Sabbath? I suggest that each is free by the constraints of conscience to keep or not keep. Let him be fully convinced. I also suggest that you place too much weight on the Sabbath toward born again believers...it isn't necessary and causes strife for no good reason. Paul was clear here and in other places. The principle is embedded in the instructions. Col. 2:16 Therefore no one is to 1aact as your judge in regard to bfood or bdrink or in respect to a cfestival or a dnew moon or a eSabbath 2day — 17 things which are aa mere shadow of what is to come; but the 1substance 2belongs to Christ. 18 Let no one keep 1adefrauding you of your prize by bdelighting in 2self-abasement and the worship of the angels, 3taking his stand on visions he has seen, 4cinflated without cause by his dfleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast to athe head, from whom bthe entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and 1ligaments, grows with a growth 2which is from God. Col. 2:20 aIf you have died with Christ 1to the belementary principles of the world, cwhy, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to ddecrees, such as, 21 “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” 22 (which all refer ato things destined to perish 1with use) — in accordance with the bcommandments and teachings of men? 23 These are matters which have, to be sure, the 1appearance of wisdom in 2aself-made religion and self-abasement and bsevere treatment of the body, but are of no value against cfleshly indulgence. Col. 3:1 Therefore if you have been araised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, bseated at the right hand of God. 2 1aSet your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

  38. Not a chance! Peter wasn't 'contesting' Paul. He was merely stating that some of what he wrote was hard to understand. Making such a patently inaccurate statement and not providing the verses for folks to read and see for themselves is inappropriate. I ask you again to explain for the good folks reading this. 2Pet. 3:14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

  39. ..." do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 'Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.' " -Excerpt from the gospel of Matthew

  40. The bible doesn't say anything about being vegan, or not eating meat. In fact, it says a lot about eating meat. So Biblicaly, there is nothing wrong with a porterhouse steak. Basically it's a choice. If you want to be vegan, then be vegan. As for doubting people would eat meat if we saw the horror.... No, I don't think that's true. All of my extended family came from farms, and many still live on farms, and they cut the heads of chickens, and turkeys, and slaughtered their cows. This is normal. People have been killing animals, and eating them since the end of the Garden of Eden. So no, I highly doubt that people would stop eating meat, because they saw cows being killed or something. Never stopped humans in 6,000 years, doubt it will now. My personal view is two-fold. Right now I just sent in my donation to a charity that helped a 16 year old girl, escape from sex trafficking. My point is... which is more important? Second view is.... and this is entirely my personal experience.... the people I know who are vegans are all unhealthy. All of them. They all have health issues. Is there a connection between veganism and health issues? Everyone tells me no... but yet every single vegan I know, has endless health problems. Every single one of them. I don't know if that is a fluke, but it sure is a consistent fluke.

  44. 1 Corinthians 13 (NASB95) 1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. 13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

  45. Well said, Brother. The 10 Commandments are the Law of Moses boiled down to their basic elements. Jesus boiled it down even more... Matthew 22:36–40 (AV) 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. These are the basis of the Law and Grace, in fact. Love.
    1 point
  46. The 10 Commandments are "The Law of Moses" Maybe this would be an opportunity to say some things about that. There are some 613 laws in the first 5 books of the Bible, called the pentateuch or the Torah. The 10 Commandments are a part of that. This Mosaic Law was never given to the Gentiles (non Jews). I've heard the word Gentile to be insulting to some, which is new to me. I've never considered it to be insulting, bit I'm old school. Anyway, the Law is usually something where Christians immediately think of the 10 Commandments for obvious reasons in our churches, SS classes and so forth. It is my view that the churches I've been to teach a combination of Law and Grace mix in their doctrine or statements of faith, but it is not really a truth for Christianity. Jesus walked this earth during the time where the Law was still in effect, but He came to change the Priesthood. Jesus was the only candidate qualified to fulfill the demands, the obligation, and the curse of the Law. His death with blood all over Him, was what fulfilled and completed the demand of the Law. He paid the price in full, and because of that truth, and because God the Father resurrected Him, the Law was fulfilled for all who call upon the name of the Lord. Paul says many times over, that we who are in Christ are dead to the Law. Paul was the Apostle to the Gentiles, and when this truth was brought to the Jew first, and also the Greek (Gentile), we who are in Christ had an old nature that is now killed off. We have been given a new heart, which is perfected to bear fruit for God. The Law is a curse, and we are no longer under that curse. We are now a new creation, never to be under condemnation, but are slaves of righteousness. We once were slaves of sin, but not now since we have Christ. The Law was increased, so that sin would increase, but where sin abounds, grace much more abounds. We are under a New Covenant, with much better promises, and that New Covenant is Grace. The Age of the Church. We are now under the "Law of Christ", which is love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind and soul, and love others as you love yourself. We love others because He first loved us.
