  1. Both Mary and Joseph are descendants from King David. They had to be. Jesus is prophesied to be descended from David. Whether the Jewish people of the Bible saw Jesus as the literal and biological son of Mary or the Jewish "legal" son of Joseph or both [which he was], the prophecy is protected by God having both Mary and Joseph a descendant of King David. In Matthew we see that Joseph came from King David's son, Solomon. In Luke, we see that Mary came for King David's son, Nathan [not the prophet Nathan].

  2. Great Revival Sweeping Through Iran As Hundreds Of Thousands Come To Jesus Christ The people of Iran are disillusioned with Islam and they are looking for answers to life. They are not finding answers in the traditional forms of state religion or the faith of their ancestors. They are looking for new answers, they are not happy and satisfied where they are spiritually. A large number of these people are actually having dreams and visions about a shining man dressed in white far before we are out there telling them about Jesus. A great revival is going on inside the Islamic Republic of Iran, Christian believers who have planted an “Internet church” in that heavily restricted Middle East country have disclosed. The Underground Revival That Might Take Down Islam In The Middle East This may come as a surprise to many, but Christianity is growing faster in the Islamic Republic of Iran than in any other country in the world. Tens of thousands in this overwhelmingly Muslim nation are abandoning the Islamic faith and turning to Jesus Christ. It may surprise you that one of the fastest growing churches in the world is in Iran. Despite Christianity being outlawed in the Islamic Republic, Iran has the fastest-growing house church movements in the world. Yet that’s the assessment of those who have seen and heard the remarkable story of millions turning away from Shiite Islam and turning toward Jesus Christ. ….. https://believersportal.com/great-revival-sweeping-through-iran-as-hundreds-of-thousands-come-to-jesus-christ/?fbclid=IwAR3rXiWQ8Bn0H3htzz_46cWmF-wAjpGKO3pDWeVno7URXsy-OUn4uBKHcvk

  3. If I may be bold and speak to this question... “why” It is because the believer yet does not see the foundation of their salvation....Which is their deaths in Christ. It is seeing this truth inwardly that frees a believer to walk in newness of life...For self is what Christ came to free us from and only being set free from our own wills can and will set one free from the dictates of their fallen nature’s.... You are correct we (believers) are like God in the sense we have been given a new nature it is the Divine nature and it is that nature that sins not...At the very moment of salvation the Divine nature was birthed in the believer. But this nature is like an infant it needs to grow up and become the single power of life in the soul. Read, study, pray, which are all food for growth. But above all when you fall return to God as soon as you are able regardless of how many or what sins. Over and over do not stop returning to Him. For this is the School of Christ. He is showing you you. You need to die to your own will and come from under it’s control. This is done my the faith of the heart continually turned towards God every moment of the day. When you see that there is no hope in yourself you will by faith be forced to throw yourself into His arms of mercy to do something in you that you cannot do for yourself...Which is walk in newness of life. But the ache and desire and seeing the need are the first step. Continue to give heed, cry, weep before Him and He will reveal in you what your salvation in Christ consists of. The seeing of what this salvation is, is worth all the money, power, all worldly goods... For there is always a deeper understanding of what are salvation in Christ consists of but seeing into this mystery but a little opens the door of the heart to a life lived all for God. Be blessed as you work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. But know once you have learned to deny self and reckon yourself dead by faith the valleys and the mountains become all the same for your eyes stay on Christ and you learn the walk of reckoning yourself dead to all things and than by faith alive unto God... The just shall live by faith...All our walk and growth in God comes through the faith of the heart turned towards Him... So as you search into this mystery that is your salvation in Christ keep feeding your personal relationship with Him for that relationship will teach you all you need and desire to know... (Don’t live your whole life in one day. But line upon line, here a little there a little, just don’t stop searching into this mystery of Christ in you your hope of glory. Hope this encourages for the answer of “why” is because you don’t see yourself dead in Christ yet....But if you keep asking, seeking, knocking this truth along with others will be opened up in you and your heart will rejoice like never before. A fellow searcher into this mystery, Not me

  4. R. W. Emerson though trained in Christianity denied it, denied Jesus is God, and exposed transcendentalism and unitarianism did he not? Is this a wrong conclusion on my part? I find myself wondering why is he being quoted in a general discussion area for individuals stating they are Christians believing in the Trinity, and that Jesus is God. Am I wrong in my thinking this to be an errant philosophy of transcendentalism and one that should be challenged by Christians rather than quoted? ??? What am I missing here? Thanks for considering. I am puzzled by this being associated with Bible quotes.

  5. The battle of the mind is something that all believers struggle with ... and something that you have to fight through ... but it's like a rocket taking off from earth ... at first it's really slow and seems like it's not really moving ... as it breaks gravity ... it's soaring! While we are in orbit so to speak, gravity is always tugging away ... but it's easier to fight the battle if you have broken free from the initial gravitational pull. Keep on fighting ... the book I recommended, it will reveal who you TRULY are as a believer, and then you will be able to truly fight the battle for your mind!

  6. Yeah, it's a situation whereby you have to pray through it ... and simply receive the promises of God. Listen the "struggle" of faith, is something that everyone goes through, and suddenly there's a realization that God does KEEP HIS WORD! Now, it's a problem of truly receiving it in our hearts, whereby we have total assurance of our salvation. For myself, it was a 3 month struggle ... and then I realized as much as I wanted to NOT SIN ... I couldn't stop ... whatever stupid thing it was ... and I realized at that point I couldn't save myself ... nothing I could do ... and I just came to the total realization ... IT's all His Work ... I wept and cried and anguished over my sinful state and then it was like a river of love poured over me and I knew at that moment I was delivered ... I knew I was saved and it wasn't anything that I did, it was his peace that overcame me. Just take that time ... to really seek Him ... the Bible promises ... "You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart." God bless you as you seek HIM!

  7. ~"He has besieged me and surrounded me with bitterness and WOE. He has set me in places like the dead of long AGO. He has hedged me in so that I cannot get OUT; He has made my chain heavy. even when i cry and SHOUT, He shuts out my prayer." {Lamentations 3:5-8} Guess you can tell why i have those words in CAPS, and even though this is the New KJV, I just thought it was pretty cool how these words ryhme, whether it was done intentionally or just by accident? Even verse 12 does also but it was a bit too far down to continue. Another reason i chose this passage was simply because i have also sometimes felt like this before when it was like God chastising me for sin(s) i had committed, even though i no doubt deserved it. And this also sounds very similar to King David's experiences even though this was Jeremiah speaking here.

  8. Had a couple who adopted a child from a country where she (the child now roughly 13 years old), had no documentation, and no history. They had no idea when she was born, and no idea who the parents were. This couple wanted to celebrate her birthday. So they picked a day. It is unlikely that out of 365 days, that it was exact day of her birth, but it became her birthday for them and their family. I think the same applies to Jesus. We don't know when he was born. Christmas is just the day we have designated to celebrate it. It's more complicated or simple than that.

  10. Thursday 1-9-20, Tevet 13, 5780 5th. day of the weekly cycle, 20th. Winter day Wise and Foolish Builders/Matthew Seven:24-27; Luke Six:47-49. The parable of the wise and foolish builders, also simply called the parable of the two builders, is told by Jesus to illustrate the difference between: Those who hear and act upon what they learn from Jesus. Matthew Seven:24"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash." Luke Six:47As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. 48They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete." Love always, Walter and Debbie

  11. When i say were like God I mean this. Jesus was fully human and fully God at the same time and didnt sin once. We are completely human and He gives us his Holy spirit to dwell with in us so that He can make us like Him. In essence were like Jesus, not saying we are bc we aren't thats blasphemy. As we are we have no saving power everything comes from God but there is a scripture that says we( humans) are like gods and I believe its in the way I stated ( were fully human and have the Lord's spirit who is completely God in us) So my question is why do we stumble so much? Jesus lived a sinless life why do we struggle so much? When we are in essence fully human and have God inside of us. Why?

  12. Only in part did you respond to what I said, and that's okay, but you made my point for me. Good Jewish Christians in the Ancient Near East went to synagogue--or they were expelled from Jewish life. They sometimes shared Jesus, but if they did, there could be trouble. The NT is clear that the Jewish Christians, when they wanted meetings led by themselves or Christian leaders (without, say, a nonChristian Rabbi shouting them down) met on Saturday night after the Sabbath ended. The Gentile proselytes heard Moses Saturdays and didn't change their whole lives when they trusted Christ. It was Saturday night because money was handled, wine was drunk, and it was just as the NT says EARLY ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, which isn't Sunday morning but Saturday night, when the Sabbath ends and the new day begins. Jesus was "eight" due to gematria and other things and after the seventh day--AFTER Sabbath comes the eighth day, considered by the ancients even better than the seventh, perhaps, where there would be circumcision blood (the blood of the covenant the nonChristian Jew disregarded in Hebrews, not the blood of Christ, pointing to Christ) and where God was beginning His works again, etc. If we reduce the 613 to 100 for redundancies, will that work for you? You've made some extraordinary comments here like "my past means I don't understand the Law properly" and it's my Law, not yours. But if there are only 100 laws, why do you fervently keep some (non-Jewish style Bible kosher, Sabbath, murder) but not others (Levirate marriage, pigeon sacrifice, non-mixed garments, post the commands on your house door, etc.)? Yes, if Jesus confronted me, I would say the 10 are nothing compared to HIM just as I'd say I hate my parents compared to Him. No idols! Great. ONE GOD! Greater! Don't murder! Don't adulter! My wife came home last night and said she's been romantically involved with a man for 10 years, kissing and hugging, fondling, but no intercourse, than wondered why I didn't praise her for honoring the big 10, after all, she never committed adultery...

  14. I didn't say Paul rested on Sunday, I said the NT is clear that money was collected in early church meetings, and that the church meeting on a Saturday could get a Jew killed. NT Jews did NOT handle money on Sabbath, but they did EARLY ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK when the churches met. EARLY ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK is Saturday NIGHT. They didn't need to meet SUNDAY MORNING. In love, let's discuss anything you want as long you draw off what I actually write!

  17. THE SWEETNESS OF HUNGER Pr 27:7 He who is full loathes honey, but to the hungry even what is bitter tastes sweet. Or another way of saying this is that you don't have to cook very well to satisfy those who are really hungry. Sometimes church and Bible study can seem too boring simply because we're too full of it without having put it into practice. Eating without exercising makes people fat. So also it's unhealthy to feed on the Word without exercising it. Eventually one will loathe it. 1Peter 2:2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. What would make us crave the Word but the desire for and expectation of satisfaction by its utility and implementation in our lives. For the Lord says, "as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Is 55:10,11 The Word will inevitably have an impact. Mat 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. And being filled, nothing else satisfies. In comparison to this, worldly desire are fleeting. "The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever." 1John 2:17 And how to overcome earthly desires, but to find satisfaction in the God's spiritual provisions. Seemed funny to me at the time. I have missed entirely the opportunity to rail on about Epiphany ( January 6 ) as I was traveling. But Valentines Day is fast approaching. Is that a international thing or just a USA thing?

  19. If one takes Ezekiel 38 by itself, they might be able to shoe horn it into the time frame of the end of the 1000 years. but context is everything, and Ezekiel 39 is a continuation, talking about the same event and there is a lot there that cannot legitimately be tied into the 1000 years period, especially Ezekiel 39:21 onward. So it has to be pre Messianic Kingdom. And at present, the Lord is not the physical defense of Israel today in the way you are trying to assert. And one cannot tie in Ezekiel 38 and 39 together into the 1000 years without offering some very substantive supporting text from both NT and OT, or using some sort of gymnastics in their scripture exegesis and allegorizing things to an extreme. There is no evidence that Ezekiel 38-39 the Lord is already physically ruling from Zion as is the period of the 1000 years. But in Psalms 2 which does have the rebellion at the end of the 1000 years in mind, does show that Yeshua has been established and set King over Zion when the nations imagine a vain thing and wish to throw off the rule of Messiah over them. And that does tie in to Satan being able to deceive the nations at the end of the 1000 years to rebel. So I don't accept the assertion trying to be made that Ezekiel 38-39 is talking about the end of the Messianic Kingdom 1000 years.

Just a Closer Walk with Thee. 1 I am weak but Thou art strong; Jesus, keep me from all wrong; I'll be satisfied as long As I walk, let me walk close to Thee. Refrain: Just a closer walk with Thee, Grant it, Jesus, is my plea, Daily walking close to Thee, Let it be, dear Lord, let it be. 2 Thro' this world of toil and snares, If I falter, Lord, who cares? Who with me my burden shares? None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee. [Refrain] 3 When my feeble life is o'er, Time for me will be no more; Guide me gently, safely o'er To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore. [Refrain]

  23. @CaptWalker As someone who writes poetry, I wholeheartedly agree. Thanks for pointing out those scriptures (Lamentations 3:5-8) @Worship Warriors Isaiah 53:6...another good example! Yes, it does. And it is definitely cool, imo. God graciously gave me the gift of writing poetry back when I was age 11. (I did it on and off over the years. While raising a family, I was usually too busy.) The Lord got me back into it full swing last year at Worthy through the encouragement of my brothers and sisters here. Thanks, all.

  26. You're looking at Matthew, right? Luke also has Jesus' genealogy and it follows the genealogy of Mary. Both list David. It seems many scholars are in disagreement and the differences in the two lists have been used to attack the gospel's accuracy. However, just cause we don't understand doesn't mean there is nothing to understand. Matthew and Luke must've clearly had a method and the veracity of the genealogies is either on scrolls lost to time or known by the believers then, but unknown among us today. To me, since David is on both lists, perhaps both Mary and Joseph had David's blood, but were so distantly related so as for it to not be yucky.

  29. The Law served its purpose in my life— it lead me to Jesus— I’m done with it. The Law was given to “ shut the mouths” of all of those that mistakenly thought that they could keep it The Law was our Moral “ rudder”........the unsaved can feel free to use it as a moral guide. Those Of us in The Body Of Christ have something much better than an external , artificial way to make us behave— we have something now that is INTERNAL, which makes it possible to forget about doing things in an artificial way ( doing things because we have been Commanded to ) and do things from our hearts— NEW HEARTS! With a New Heart, the saved individual can do what they want. The Holy Spirit changes our “ Wants” . Trust God and the Holy Spirit inside you and you will be surprised how much “ your” new wants will line up with “ HIS” wants.....As always with the things of God— it's all about TRUST.You either have it or you don’t.

  35. Eze 38 11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, The land has walls. As the images show, these are not unwalled villages. The walls do not come down until after Christ comes and the nations are at rest. Additionally, fire comes down from heaven and Gog is buried. Eze 39 6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the Lord. 11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog. Rev 20 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. Ezekiel prophesies that fire will come down from heaven as does John in Revelation. Gog dies and is buried. I just don't think your logic is correct. Its like hearing a story that Jack and Jill went up the hill because they were thirsty and saying that it is not the same story as Jack and Jill going up the hill to fetch a pail of water because you see no pail. Ezekiel prophesies about Gog, Magog and John tells us in Revelation when it will happen. If you would put things where God says they go, everything falls right in place.

Reflection on opportunities we had to obey and didn't, reflection on how we might be more faithful in 2020. 40. Where does the Bible say we can't celebrate New Year's Day? The fact of the matter is, there are countless pagan customs that are completely harmless and that Christians can participate in without sinning or offending God. Do you follow the Olympics? That began as a pagan festival to worship the Greek god, Zeus. Wedding rings are a pagan custom - as is throwing confetti over newly-weds and the bride throwing a bouquet of flowers over her shoulder. Celebrating birthdays is also a pagan custom. Every culture today has ancient pagan customs that are harmless to Christians.

I then saw only Dems vote and then saw Dems and Rep vote no. And also no crimes what so ever. And having to rush this to only hold on to them when its never been done ever in our history. I know for fact what our fathers of this nations wanted and didn't want. This is exactly what they never wanted to happen. Where only one side gets a voice. When the exact same Dems today are doing what they said should never be done. This never gets talked about on some news networks. When the leader of the Dems told us she would never do this unless? Yeah.. she lied and? For some ITS OK! So how many Rep voted to impeach? None. What high crimes did president Trump do? Do we have J-walking? Speeding? Anything? Nope. So why is this going anywhere? And when we hear "we can impeach him as many times as we want". I think ALLOT even TRUMP ... we best be praying for them and wisdom. Praise God.
