  1. If I'm understanding the assumption behind the question properly: "Sin entered the picture, Adam and Eve ceased to be "true humans." I'm not sure the assumption the question is founded on is correct. Adam was human, so was Eve. Before the fall they were pure in God's sight, after the fall they were defiled. Their spirits died. But that changed how they experienced and expressed their "true humanity".....i don't see that it changed their humanity. As far as I can tell, they went from humans alive to God, to humans dead to God....but still fully human. The answer to death is life. To be born again. Which is the primary reason God manifested Himself as a man.....son of Adam....Son of Man. To pay the price for that new birth and make a way for the spirits of men to once more live to God.

  2. Especially to new believers, but not only. Its true that there are things in the scriptures that are not taught and discussed in every place where His people meet. That is just the way it is. Its OK. When you hear something that seems strange to you or maybe just new to you. Try not to give in to a knee jerk response and reject it. Although that may be the correct response at times. In any case, take it to the Lord, search scripture. It can be an opportunity for fruitful study. God will bless and honor that effort. Ask questions of those you have learned to trust. Most importantly, learn each day to trust your Lord. I guarantee if you have this attitude each day, He will meet you there and instruct you. Keep in mind that He very much desires this. Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you. Be a member who participates in a revival of trust and intimate relationship with our Lord. His riches are without end. Press in. Praise His Name!

  3. Thursday 1-16-20, Tevet 20, 5780 5th. day of the weekly cycle, 27th. Winter day The supremacy of the Son of God 15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. Colossians One:15-16 ◄ Hebrews One ► King James Bible Par ▾ The Supremacy of the Son Colossians 1:15-23) The Superiority of Christ: 1God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 5For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 7And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 8But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 10And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. 13But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? 14Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? Love always, Walter and Debbie

  4. Don't put what you can't afford to lose on that bet. Several come to my mind immediately, that I arranged the funerals for during my near twenty years in the funeral business. Always nasty stuff to contend with. Gee thanks for that. I was already having trouble sleeping. And in addition the absolute hatred that manifests itself within siblings at a funeral can be an amazing and dangerous happening. As one example I remember two brothers dueling it out in the long parking lot driveway in their Lincolns, it was demolition derby. Plus the oh too common event of mass murder suicide within a family where everyone is taken out. Nothing is beyond the capacity of humans when it comes to hate and cruelty. The old line from Tommy Smothers to his brother, "Mother always loved you best" was only funny because it hit upon a truth that so many live. Anyway don't bet that one.

  5. I was taught that it is not faith or works; it is faith THAT works. True faith will produce works. Faith without works is dead, says James. We are saved by our faith. Works are not necessary if a person dies before they have the opportunity to produce works. A person is born again due to their faith. Then the Holy Spirit in them produces works. He produces love, joy, peace patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self control. People point out the thief on the cross. He believed that Jesus was the Christ and his Lord. He said, "Lord when you come into Your kingdom, remember me." His saving faith produced this work, a confession of his faith. Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Rom 10:13 For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, Eph 2:9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Our purpose is to do good works. When we were born again God started changing our attitudes so that we take joy in allowing Christ to live in us. We don't have to do good works. We want to do good works by His Spirit and glorify God.

  6. Rom 4:3 For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness." Rom 4:4 Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. Rom 4:5 And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, Rom 4:6 just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: Rom 4:7 "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; Rom 4:8 blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin."

  9. Acts 3: 19 - Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord - NIV Bible Repentance means more than just turning from sin, it will also include: Change the intention and purpose of some existing thing, whether physical, digital, etc. Changing your intentions Change your mind Change your purpose Change course Change direction With prayer - involving the change of the thing's future meaning in a godly way, making changes with prayer as a measure of support and asking for the impossible, repentance can truly work in these three scenarios: If an existing Google account is used for the wrong/immoral things, that same Google account can have a change in intention and purpose by using it for the right moral things in life - no matter what has happened previously. Prayer will work completely here, and having faith can achieve the most impossible thing of which will be possible. The scenario which applies to a Google account, will also apply to a general email address. Dealing with sin will often involve blocking unwanted mail and praying in telling God that the general intention and purpose for that account will change. If a marriage between a man and woman was full of many bad things, whether it be sin, argument, lustful behaviour, etc, that same marriage can be transformed. Anything bad caused between the two people will be forgiven and the godly rebuilding can begin. If a business does things that are immoral, that same business can be transformed by changing its ways in moving towards moral values. With these things God can prove to you that the things are in "damage isn't done" state, because by following his Word, he can indeed help us achieve the most impossible, most extraordinary thing. Faith and prayer will be key in transformation the three items mentioned, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENED IN THE PAST, OR WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW! The truth is, the three things that i have mentioned can have the most special transformation via prayer, asking for the impossible and giving God the ability to do the unthinkable. Repentance means more than just to turn away from sin and remember: God can turn bad things into good God can turn sinful things into non-sinful things Nothing is too hard for God All things are possible with God Prayer does the most extraordinary, unthinkable things of which go beyond

  10. Hi Alive, This is great encouragement for anyone. I remember when I first became a believer all I had to go to for learning and growth was my bible. My family didn't go to church or read the bible and neither did my friends. All I know is that I wanted to get to know the Lord and understand His will for my life and I can He blessed me with understanding when I had none before.

  13. Okay here is what I think. Really, it is hard to make a judgment called on a photo when you were not there to see the whole story. It could be that this "nice" women gave up her seat for a tired construction/factory worker who has been on his feet all day. Maybe she works at a sit down job and is happy to be standing? Or it maybe she dose not feel comfortable sitting where so many other people have set. So I can't really say what this photo means. Cause I don't have the full story.

  16. I think it’s probably not good to call something a “sin” if it’s not in the Bible. I think Christ’s concern was that we love one another. If a person decides to get a tattoo or piercing, I don’t see how that does harm to another. I don’t like tattoos or piercings either, but if it makes a person happy, then I’m all for it.

  18. I don't believe a spiritually dead person is able to choose Jesus and reject Jesus. God has to regenerate a person so that the person can 'freely' choose Jesus. Because of original sin, we all were spiritually dead. God is the initiator when it comes to faith and not us. God is simply not having a view of everyone's choice. He is the primary cause of everything that happens. God did not just set the universe in motion and defined gravity, etc and let things unfold itself. He is the Orchestrator.

  20. I don't believe this is a gender specific instruction. Paul writes it as gender specific because it was women who were causing the issue in Corinthian Church at that time. The whole chapter deals with orderly worship inside Church. Paul talks about how people should not prophesy in tongues (to the congregation) when there is no one to interpret. How people should not talk over each other. Then he comes to this specific point. I think it is disgraceful for anyone (man or woman) to speak in the Church during a service. That is, speaking without being prompted by Holy Spirit. And in Corinthian Church the women were probably speaking up or speaking among themselves. If someone misses a point in the sermon because they were tending to their kids, it would be inappropriate to ask their spouse (audibly) what did he or she miss. If multiple people start doing this, it would quickly escalate to chaos. In Corinthian Church, the wives were doing this and Paul refers to women. The principle is for men as well, just as the whole chapter deals with orderly worship within a Church.

  21. My thoughts reflect yours. As stated previously, we can't know the day nor the hour, but we can know the season of our Lord's return. As you rightly point out in Luke 21: 29, it's talking about a change of season we can observe, and when the kingdom is near. The Rapture / Resurrection will take non-believers by surprise, but not Christians watching and waiting. After May 14, 1948 when for the first time in history, after 2,000 years of diaspora, a previous nation was formed once again, but still in disbelief. Combined with the convergence of everything prophetic pertaining to the end-times, I strongly believe we are the terminal generation. So if we are the terminal generation as I suspect. A natural question arises of how long a generation could be, 30, 40, 100, 120 years, or when the last person born in that generation dies? As you quoted in Psalm 90: 10, it's the last biblical longevity given in the Bible for the average life span of people, which coincides with scientific data of today. Everything prophetic pertaining to the end-times is in place or is rapidly forming. I'm personally watching for our snatching away at any moment, as it could occur at any time. Based on what I believe are clues in the Bible about the timing of the Rapture, among all the other things prophetic we are to watch for. I think it possible the Rapture could occur prior to the year 2028? Possibly even on a Jewish holiday? In any event, whether I'm alive on earth or not, I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen by then. When the Lord determines that the last person to be saved on earth happens, the Father will send His Son to fetch us without delay. We have hope and a glorious eternal future ahead of us regardless of the timing.

  24. I visited a church that a friend invited me to and during the service I was experiencing lustful thoughts and feelings....i was very disturbed by it. After the service the thoughts and feelings left and while I was driving home and I asked God...Father what was THAT all about? He said I was discerning the spirit of lust within the church. Shortly after I learned the pastor was having an affair with a married woman from that church. He was married also, and not long after that voth marriages ended up in divorce and the pastor openly began a relationship with this woman....needless to say the church closed its doors 6 months later. It caused such a division amongst the members that over half of them left and those who stayed were mortgaging property and all kind of things to keep the bills paid....and some even got bound up with lust in their flesh as well. So it has been ever since...when I am around someone I can feel the spirit operating in them whether good or bad.

  25. No one seems to get the Qumran connections. The Church fathers and apostles all read Enoch and other 'non-canonical' writings of the inter-testament period. Their world view is obscured due to our later teachings and the scriptures have been mostly strip-mined of anything supernatural. The early church was well aware of the Divine Council, the 70 nation dispersion at Babel and the horrific sins of the Watchers (Gen 6). We have today a watered down set of 'informed decisions' that we take (deliberately or unconsciously) so we are far more ill-informed that the early church ever was.

  26. i think in Joseph's case, there was jealousy involved. He was their father's favourite, and Joseph was foolish enough to tell his brothers that he had a dream that one day they will all bow down to him. i suspect the jealousy had been brewing for a long long time, until it finally boiled over. never underestimate the potential destruction power of jealousy, especially long term jealousy. so it is not just Joseph was annoying.

  27. As the bible says there stories are given for exanples to us. Joseph's story shows us what can happen if. 1) Parents blatantly favour one or some children over others. (As Jacob did with joseph) . It can stir hatred between siblings. 2)When we don't deal with negative emotions. Joseph's brothers didn't deal with their envy and it turned to a murderous hatred. That could happen to any of us.

  28. Sure. But the point is scripture does not say tanks and helicopters will be burned. "Israel will go out, kindle fires, and burn up the weapons—the bucklers and shields, the bows and arrows, the clubs and spears." This does not sound like a mechanized army to me. No doubt there are siege engines powered by internal combustion or jet coming against Israel. I'm saying that precisely, "Israel will go out, kindle fires, and burn up the weapons—the bucklers and shields, the bows and arrows, the clubs and spears. There will be a great company of riders using ancient weapons of war. Since I'm convinced the war in Joel at the day of the Lord, the Eze 38-39 war and the depictions of slaughter in Rev 16 and 19 are all the same and occur at the day of the Lord when He returns after GT, but some months before the end of the 70th week, I'm nearly convinced the great earthquake at His return puts an end to all the transportation. If every wall falls then one of the many things that will change overnight is fuel availability. There will be none to last more than one day so...horses; or chimeras as in Rev 9. So then Israel will burn these weapons in the first 7 years of the millennium and not during the 70th week. Just to speculate: we used to burn about 8-9 cords a year for heat and hot water. If Israel is using the weapons of war for heat, hot water and cooking each family may use that amount. I was cutting trees for fuel. War weapons have much less mass. That's going to be a lot of weapons. A vast, unimaginable number of warriors to provide fuel for the needs of a nation for 7 years.

And, in the same way, they will be utterly shocked when they recognise Him as their King later. Love & Shalom

  32. The same Greek word is used for both. Faith is a noun or name and believe is a verb or action word. They are saying that faith is associated with actions that demonstrate or are produced by their faith. Believe means trusting in and relying on God or upon His word in the Bible. Does that help?

  33. The context of Romans 1:18-32 makes clear that Paul indeed is referring to the Gentile world at large. Believers have the law, the old law is to love your neighbor; Leviticus 19:17-18, the literal summation of the old law is such; Deuteronomy 10:19, which is specifically what Christ and Paul preached; Matthew 7:12, Romans 13:8-9. That also makes clear that since Paul says "which have not the law" he is clearly talking about, lawless, people, as he spelled out in detail in the words before those. A couple very important things must always be considered when reading Paul. 1. He liked to talk a lot, the Bible makes note of it; Acts 20:9. 2. The chapter and verse numbers were not included by Paul, they were added centuries later, originally it is one continuous letter. 3. Peter specifically, the Holy Spirit through Peter, specifically said that some of the things Paul said are hard to understand. 2 Peter 3:15-16. And Paul himself writes at the end of Romans that his writing is bold and for the purpose of the Sanctification of the Gentiles. Romans 15:16-18 Therefore Romans should not be understood as an introduction to the "gospel" the introduction to the good news is what Christ preached, Matthew 5 through 7, Luke 6:27-49, and the end of the matter, for believers, should also be what Christ preached; Rev. chapters 1 - 3.

  34. This is a blatant lie. He didn’t do any good works. There is zero proof that the Soup Kitchen was actually run by him, or that he donated a dime to it. What most believe to be true was that he shook down local grocers who donated food to a soup kitchen while Capone took credit for it. And it was mostly to improve his reputation after the “Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre” that occurred the year before the Soup Kitchen opened. Before the horrible Massacre in 1929, Capone and the New York Crime families had been glamorized by the press. After the massacre, there was a public outcry to go hard after organized crime and Capone was sent to prison just a year after he claimed to have started the soup kitchen. Lucky Luciano was convicted after that. The man was a ruthless murderer that terrorized Chicago and corrupted the justice system there. When my grandfather became a cop in 1945, after Capone had died, the Chicago Police Department was still under the control of organized crime and it took decades for them to undo the damage Capone had done. He was nothing but a psychopath and shame on that pastor for suggesting otherwise.

  35. "And they that are Christs, have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts" Galatians 5:24 That crucifixion is a process, but it is happening in the life of every sincere believer, our 'ticket', that we literally have, is the Holy Spirit, but you see, the Holy Spirit is not a ticket or a thing, the Holy Spirit is a person, the Holy Spirit is God literally inside of us, desiring to personally interact with us and lead us, if we do not follow Him, we become His enemy and therefore we will not make it, we will loose even faith. "Some of the things Paul said are hard to understand, and unlearned men will take and twist them" 2 Peter 3:15-16 Therefore let us learn, what's to learn? Scripture, Paul was always speaking from and referring to scripture, or words Christ spoke. "They grieved His Holy Spirit therefore He was turned to be their enemy" Isiah 63:10 "grieve not the Holy Spirit.." Ephesians 4:30 "..For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God" Ephesians 5:5 Therefore we are not of them that ignore and grieve the Spirit unto destruction, we are of them that listen to and follow the Spirit, knowing that the Spirit spoke the most directly through Christ, therefore the first fruit of the Spirit that Paul lists is love, for the words, the teachings from Christ, are all summarized by love. As we concentrate on following the simple teachings of Christ, our fleshly desires will be overcome, and Galatians 5:24 will shine true in our lives.

  36. Amen, there is no 'ticket to heaven' there is no magic spell to be said that will get one into heaven. Believing that a prayer grants some sort of ticket into heaven, is the same as believing that there is a magic spell one can say to get into heaven. What avails anything is faith that demonstrates itself by love. What avails anything is a new creation; a person who has let the Holy Spirit of God change them from the inside out. "They that are Christs, have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts" Galatians 5:24

Sometimes it is just bluster or immaturity, yet sometimes there is a sinister agenda or they represent a questionable doctrine. Often, you can talk reasonably and then they really 'show'.
