  1. I was sent here for what seems like an eternity ago to help several people over the years.... I've gotten frustrated with the place and attempted to leave several times, but so far each time the Lord has said no you can't leave.... so I know I didn't come here for me.... and I have to assume I'm not here for me now considering I'd like to not spend so much time here but also seem to be driven to do so.... Like I have said for years, if George ever decides to run me off from here he should send my wife his address for I just know she'd send him flowers as a thank you...

  2. These things were already outlawed in the Old Testament and with a death penalty for those who committed them . So it was not necessary for Jesus to address them to the Jews of that day. Committing such heinous sins was rare because few lived to do it again. Both were associated with the worship of baal, and fertility rites. However, the Didache was used to teach new believers and the gentiles of the first century. It spells out do not commit murder or an abortion. Romans 1 addresses homosexuality as inspired by God the Holy Spirit.

  4. This made me laugh! I did sound kind of prideful or narcissistic or some other term I can’t think of. ? Yeah when you’re a mother and everything seems to revolve around your kids, you can have a moment where you say “Gosh Darn It, I’m going to do something for myself!” It’s funny how my daughter and husband know all about Worthy now and will ask me what Worthy thinks about a certain topic. ?

  7. Was watching a video of people who escaped cults. The 1st cult features was the nation of Yahweh. It was a cult who's said blacks were the original Israelites and that whites were infidel and devils. The former member telling The story saw he was totally devoted even after the cult leader had former members killed, had him publicly beaten, kicked him out of the compound and even sent him away to new jersey from the compound for a year so he could steal his wife. Then one day because he didn't sell enough items,he was made to kneel for hours in a room. While doing this he had time to really think and realised-For all of the preaching done against whites all this suffering in his life -beatings humiliation loss of his family was caused by a black man (the leader). No white peraon had even wronged him. That is what opened his eyes and made him flee. I'm of course not preachiby racism but my point is this Sometime we go through certain sufferings or unwanted situations so that our eyes can be opened. Sometimes we can be so blinded by our circumstance that God in his goodness has to let something harsh or severe happen to let us realise. The cult is an extreme example but sometimes it can even be a toxic friendship or relationship or even a job that we need to see our need to escape.

  8. All of the circumstances in our lives that have brought us here, including me reading your post just now, is all done in His timing. I have come to believe this more and more over the past several months that I have been on Worthy. It may be about "you" in that it is meant to be what God is intending for you, but it is most certainly about becoming closer and bringing others closer to God.

  9. My brother in Scotland sent this to me today. Talk about "Lots of Meanings"! Enjoy! SIX LITTLE STORIES WITH LOTS OF MEANINGS 1) Once all villagers decided to pray for rain. On the day of prayer, all the people gathered, but only one boy came with an umbrella. - That is faith 2) When you throw babies in the air, they laugh because they know you will catch them. - That is trust 3) Every night we go to bed without any assurance of being alive the next morning, but we still set the alarms to wake up. - That is hope 4) We plan big things for tomorrow in spite of zero knowledge of the future. - That is confidence 5) We see the world suffering, but still, we get married and have children - That is love 6) On an old man's shirt was written a sentence "I am not 80 years old; I am sweet 16 with 64 years of experience" - That is attitude Have a happy day and live your life like these six stories. Remember - Good friends are the rare jewels of life, difficult to find and impossible to replace!

  10. Is your participation in this community about YOU or is it about... Hi Buck, I think that's a vital question to submit to the forum. Here at WCF the mission is to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. This also is an outreach for those who are of the Jewish faith, and bringing the Good News once again to the House of Israel, so they also might come to a saving knowledge of their Messiah. Now, Worthy is well designed with a myriad of topics that would pertain to various interests also. Of course, these are heavy times in what I personally feel are the last days. And certain issues can get rather serious. Sometimes extremely so. Occasional discussions can get a little heated from time to time. These things happen. That being, some expected comic relief is necessary, and a thread may take a humorous turn of events. I think that's great. I love humor! And you'll find it all throughout certain topics. There's certainly nothing wrong with that at all. But, for the sake of having a "humor-only" topic Worthy has a proper place for that. It's perfect. And you could spend all day there cracking jokes among one another. It's really funny, I've both read and participated in them now and again. Sometimes a lot. It just depends on one's mood. Still, the main goal is to reach the lost, and help those that are in need of encouragement. That's so important in our world. Some members care about that and some perhaps not so much. It depends, and it's fairly easy to spot those who are really desiring to reach out to others. I'm serious about God. I wanna see people saved and struggling believers lifted up. You'll see me making light of issues on occasion. But we should remain balanced in all things. Shalom, David/BeauJangles

  12. My hearts most earnest desire. That all my unsaved family and loved ones would accept Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord and Savior. And by extension; the rest of the unbelieving world. It's a heartache and hard pill to swallow in this life, knowing a loved one didn't know Christ when their body died. Or not knowing because I failed to ask or witness.

  14. The main evidence of God's existence that I like the most is Design demands a designer... This world, our bodies, our minds, everything is so complex and this level of intricate design does not just appear from nothing. Many scientists who are non believers will admit design is so apparent in our DNA and Biology. Predictive prophecy is quite convincing in my opinion as well... Our bible has people who foretold events in a very detailed manner that happened exactly how they said they would over 700 years after they predicted it, no man is capable of foretelling events in the future like this, there had to be a higher power at work behind that. The Bible is super awesome in so many ways... written by all different types of people, fisherman, kings, tax collectors, priests, several different cultures over several different ages... yet the unity is amazing.. the Bible is the first book ever published, reach more people, and has been translated in over 1000 languages, the Bible has accomplished more than any other book in existence... No work of man even comes close to what the Bible has done. No man is capable of these accomplishments. It is the work of God. God used many different people, over many different times in many different ways to give us instruction in salvation and righteousness. Thank you God =)

  15. I see Him in His Creation all around. But in those times when I have doubts enter in--I am always reminded of the miraculous things that He has done with me personally that simply cannot be explained any other way. It started with how He first revealed Himself to me....and then on. I assure you that He exists and is very real.

  16. I follow Jesus because I live a better life in the world for doing so. My life is richer and fuller because Jesus is in it. He is my only comfort and peace. I can call on him in the darkest of places and he hears me. Its not just what happens to me when I die. It is about what my life is while I am still alive.

  17. I’m just saying, it’s difficult to evangelize by Holy Spirit power when half the modern church says it’s heresy. Most of the major influencers on YouTube these days are strict cessationists. You built an evangelistic ministry on signs and wonders — just watch, Chris Rosebrough will be hot on your heels to call you an NAR wacko, and his thousands of fans of will gobble it up. No, what these use to prove God these days is a marketing plan.

  18. I serve Jesus because I met Him and He told me to serve Him. Pretty much as simple as that. If I told you I met a woman with blonde hair at the bank, you would accept it without demanding proof. You wouldn’t have to see her yourself in order to believe me. You would not labor to try to talk me out of it until I produced photographic evidence. You would accept that I met a blonde-haired woman you haven’t yet met. When faced with a personal testimony about meeting Jesus, unbelievers take one of two positions: 1) you’re a liar, or 2) you hallucinated. There’s no evidence of either of these conclusions, but they willingly accept it with no evidence because anything is a better option than believing a Christian. I’m not sure how it is that my personal experience needs your approval before it’s real, but that’s how unbelievers roll.

  19. @BeauJangles I'm with you on this one, brother. There is no need for proof. Scripture makes it clear we are to come to God in faith. But as to 'evidence' -I would point to lives that are radically changed by Him. Drug addicts, criminals, murderers, you name it. There are so many lives transformed by the power of God through Jesus Christ. Are you familiar with a radio show (half hour drama of testimonies) called Unshackled? It has been on the air for decades and declares these true life stories. It can be found online, too. My second evidence would be the wonder of creation. "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse" Creation speaks of a Creator. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.(psalm 19:1) Thirdly, the prophecies that have been proved true. Incredibly long list of them...fulfilled in Jesus Christ. The Bible is a living book that is powerful and sharper than a two-edged sword. If people will read it with an open mind and soft heart, God will reveal Himself through its pages. "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." (Romans 10:17)

  20. Did you realise that when life is tough, the best thing you can do is praise Jesus. Things change for the better almost straight after sometimes. If its really hard then just say "Lord Jesus you are good" and mean it. Its still praise and it works.

  21. Hi all, Just finished watching the movie COURAGEOUS (Made in 2011) for the second time. I enjoyed it the first time, but really am thankful for it having watched a second time. It is a Kendricks Brothers production, another very good movie with a bold declaration of God's will for His own servants. Might also be a really good tool to share with any family, perhaps especially with younger men. I have found it an encouragement to me, even at my age, to be looking for, noting, and using by example as well as by sharing for my own use, the passages within God's word that pertain to men's responsibility to their children and wife under the headship of our Lord Jesus. Besides that it is a good movie well done. War Room ( Made in 2015 ) is also one of their movies.

  22. I dont think one can really know. But Jesus said few are saved. Few believe in Jesus as lord and believe he died and rose from the dead. But if you have been born again God will not lose you. We are in his hands. He can do all to keep us. Plus we have a new nature. He that is born again can not live in sin. John wrote.

  23. All of this may sound great....unfortunately it is not Biblical.....I hate to simplify what some have made so complicated, but if you simply REST in the Gospel , one of those “ COMMANDS/LAWS/RULES/WILL/WORDS” that always seems to be conveniently omitted by those who preach legalism and Command/Rule-Keeping For Salvation, everything else will take care of itself. It will be so natural, one may not even notice that they are living a life that pleases God .It flies in the face of everything you may have been told, but obeying God is fun and exiting, not a worrisome burden where in the back of your mind , you always have to worry about your Performance and if you are “ enduring” enough.Stop worrying.Stop Trying.Start Trusting.Focus On RESTING and step back and watch God Work THROUGH you. It’s the END GOAL of Christianity.

  24. Hi, I have to suggest that God has provided so much information within the Bible that no Christian having the Holy Spirit indwelling need be guessing! All individuals suffer, all sin, and not all repent of their sins against God, nor are all individuals saved to eternal life with God. Plus Jesus loses not a one of those given to Him By His Father. He is the Good Shepherd.

  25. God covered homosexuality in Leviticus 18:22. I suppose Jesus saw no reason to repeat what had already been commanded. As for abortion, isn't that covered in "Do not kill"?

Hi Daily verse, And we see God`s plan in conjunction with this - `God.... purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, which are in heaven and which are on earth – in Him,...` (Eph. 1: 9 & 10) BTW. I have just a blog in `Marilyn`s messages,` on that very topic. regards, Marilyn.

  30. Hi Sonshine, I think you have touched on something important there. I was talking with my husband concerning this topic and he pointed out that with wisdom there needs to be character. And that is what Solomon was missing - character. Your thought on `reverence,` highlights the right character - humble. Very good. And note: character is not a gift but worked out in daily life by the Holy Spirit.

  31. 100% of human beings COULD be saved....Jesus paid the sin debt for ALL of the them...it is up to the individual to “ cash in” on what Jesus has already done..... one cashes in by turning to God as a lost sinner and Trusting in His Son to Save them.....God has promised to “ save to the UTTERMOST” all that do this act of Faith....

  33. Yes it’s all about getting to know this One personally. This inward one and one relationship. This relationship of the heart. Which is all based in truth, honesty, righteousness and goodness. Pursuing these, He will be found by all that seek Him for this is where He waits. For in righteousness does He wait for those willing to do righteousness.... So He might be found. To a increase of Him in our innermost beings, Not me

  34. Our personal relationship with Christ. Well, this is what makes Christianity so UNIQUE. It's all about knowing the One who has so ravished your heart that you will live radically for him. The other religions don't have what we have. We have a God who so loved us that he gave himself for us. He came he died and he rose again. His blood has now made it possible for us to know him and be intimate with him.

For many years i thought wisdom would be the best gift to ask for, but as it didn't keep Solomon from drifting away from God, i changed my mind. Besides, we were given the Greatest Gift of all and He brings us endless gifts daily, including wisdom.
