  1. So, we have moved to a new house and a week back we had invited one of the pastors we know to our house. Just to spend some time us and bless the new house. He stayed overnight and we were planning to do some prayer in the evening. He is such a humble and wonderful person full of wisdom! He is a pentecostal Pastor and always encourages me and my wife to seek Baptism of Holy Spirit. I have held different positions about speaking in tongues. Generally I have always believed speaking in tongues is for today. But my position was that it was not "essential". I never prayed for it too much. In my Church, a series on Spirit Empowered Life has been going on from beginning of the year (and this week they started a new series). Wonder about the timing!! The Pastor was actually fasting that day and wanted to pray with us for us to receive baptism of HS. He talked about it for a while and we started praying. I prayed. Then I slowly set aside my doubts and prayed to God that He would simply touch me and fill me. If that means speaking in tongues, then let it happen. This went on for a while. Then I thought Pastor would stop and stay keep asking the Lord and some other day it would happen. Nope, he would not stop! We kept on praying and finally my wife started speaking in tongues. That's when my prayers became serious!! I was in tears, just praising God and asking Him to fill me. Then the Pastor was moved by HS and he layed his hands on my head. On that instant, I felt like something gushing out of me. I started crying and speaking in tongues. It felt liberating. It felt like water breaking out of dam. It felt like everything came out of the core of the body or close to belly. That's the best way I can describe! I was speaking in tongues for a while and eventually we stopped. Yesterday during worship service at Church, once again I spoke in tongues for a while. May be for 1 or 2 songs. It is amazing! Clearly I could feel connected to God than normal praise and worship. It feels like there is zero distraction. No other thoughts in mind. And there is a calmness and peace at that time. And plenty of crying! I am so thankful and grateful to Lord that He would chose a sinner like me to show His goodness. I am not posting this up for debate on whether tongues is for today or question my experience. I am sharing this more as a testimony. As for my position about Baptism of Holy Spirit, I can personally testify that speaking in tongues is for today. Is Baptism of Holy Spirit is a second experience after being saved? This is the case for me. May be that's the way it is or may be that's the way it was for me because of my unbelief and not seeking it before. I don't know. If you are in my boat, set aside your doubts and seek Him. Just seek Him.
  2. Hi all, Hope and pray you are all ok. Just a quick one to let you know we arrived safely. It was a long journey, but we're here. It is very hot and sunny. Totally different to what we're used to. lol. I will continue to pray for you all whilst I'm here. God bless you. Becky.
  3. SCRIPTURAL TEXT:* _*(John 8:11)*_ _“And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”_ 🔸🔸🔸 The true Gospel is the Gospel to the poor, the lost, the sick and the weak. It possesses the power to save. As true witnesses therefore, we must learn how to always present the Gospel as Good News, not as a message of condemnation. The woman caught in adultery no doubt deserved some tough words from Jesus, but we see Him use a different approach in winning the woman. Jesus showed her love and reassured her that she is not condemned. The Gospel is not to condemn sinners, it is to show them the way to victory over the flesh, the world and the devil, which is in Christ Jesus. Glory to God! As witnesses for Christ, we cannot effectively reach a world that we condemn. Instead, we show the weak and dying world that the strength they need to overcome sin and the sinful nature of the flesh is in accepting the finished words of Jesus Christ on the cross. The Gospel is Good News; that is the way it must be presented.
  4. Hi there folks, just to let you know that I hadn't fallen off the edge of the world. Just been working away from home over this last week, and no access to a computer or laptop to keep up with all that has happened. Just happy to be home and among you all again, God bless.
  5. Besides some preaching condemnation to unbelievers....there are also those who preach condemnation to born again Christians. This is really sad. We should seek to edify each other, rather than to put condemnation on to others.
  6. Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply with such openess, honesty, love and care...wow to your testimonies of what you been through and by the grace of God came through and for encouraging me. I do have great Christian friends, I also have great judgers lol but u understand everyone is walking their own walk and all that matters is God and what He says and anything good in my life is only because of Him. Part of me lings to turn back and part of me is afraid. I am so thankful to God that I found this chatsite because there are so many truly genuine Christians on here and you are making a difference by the grace of God. I didn't know what to expect when I posted the above post but I cried when I read what you all had to say. From the bottom of my heart thank you all so much and I pray God encourages and strengthens you all in Jesus name 💕
  7. Years ago atheists had access here and they were counter witnessing to immature Christians, basically corrupting their faith. This site is also accountable for encouraging Christians to grow in faith and not be harmed by atheists who are intent on causing harm. In my opinion, it is good for there to be a place for Christians to fellowship without unbelievers and for there to be a place for atheists to be witnessed to by well grounded Christians.
  8. ... the true church is all around ... simply start fellowshipping and praying that the Lord brings you the relationships that will continue to refine you as a believer. Don't look for the "perfect" church -- or the "perfect" ministry ... for within any organization is the fact that men run them in their sinful bodies! Look for those who will keep you accountable ... those who are able to tell you the truth in the spirit of GRACE AND TRUTH ... and those who are seeking the deeper understandings of God and encourage you to do the same! Welcome to Worthy! God bless, George
  9. It checked all my boxes: "gospel-centered", multi-ethnic, filled with youthful energy. But it felt disengenuous. It felt like this super streamlined, organized operation that appealed to the need to have church activities. It felt like the leaders were trying hard to emulate another church's successful model. The only problem is, I don't believe the Kingdom of God is measured in church growth and activities. The Kingdom of God is invisible right now and comes down to the changed hearts of believers. I feel discouraged that my gut is telling me to keep searching. I really wanted to love that church.
  10. And also for this day... 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: KJV
  11. May Yahweh bless you richly @diane32. May your walk tomorrow be bolder than yesterday. What a wonderful, loving, kind Father we have! Despite how we act and fall, He is always faithful in picking us up and guiding us by the hand again. HalleluYah!
  12. Hello people's. I'm glad I found you! It took a bit to find a Christian forum where members were using the bible as a guide. Thanks for having me!
  13. my bride went home a few years ago so I've pondered on this a lot. the Bible makes it clear we're not "married" as we were here, but it's difficult for me to imagine there won't still be something very unique about our relationship in eternity. The one with whom I became one flesh was used by Him to mold me into what I now am. She remains a part of who I have become. I don't know how all that will actually be expressed but I feel pretty confident that unique, common experience will remain in some fashion.
  14. So wife and I tried a different church Sunday past, It seemed to be the same old same old.... The "band" were warming up and even then the volume of the drum kit was insane......every snare hit was like a shotgun going off beside me and the cymbals were literally painful. It was the usual 30 minutes of pain and assault on the eardrums - the same 2-3 songs were repeated ad nauseum. At one point I was about to go out and sit in the car but then thankfully it was over. Then came the word, which was so turned down I could hardly hear it. Then another 20 minutes of aural assault before it was time to go home. I was bored throughout....it was either audible pain and repetition or struggling to hear. Couldn't help but think that it was like a school room environment only louder and was this REALLY what Christ envisaged church life to be like? I can't believe I'm the only person looking for a supposed NT church that comes away thinking "what a waste of time that was"....or am I missing something. I somehow doubt the persecuted Christians in China would look at this and think "Wow that's amazing!".
  15. Hi, I’m very grateful to have found this forum. I have had a belief in God for a while but had a spiritual awakening recently following some difficult news. Since then I’ve been exploring and developing my faith and am now wanting God and Christ in my life. I’m looking forward to learning more about God’s Word from you all.
  16. Hi all, Praise God and thank Jesus. My internet has come back on. We had a storm on Thursday, and it knocked if off. The engineer came out this morning and its now back on. I miss it when I don't have it, as I can't come on here! Thank you Lord that it is back. Becky.
  17. kicking and screaming mostly but He's so patient..... Edit to add: but, He can be pretty adamant about not going any further til the kicking and screaming stops too been there, done that....got the t-shirt
  18. better put a lock on your spoon drawer. them spoons are pretty sneaky too. making people fat.
  19. Well, the world does think we're a little bit peculiar. 1 Peter 2:9 For ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of the darkness into his marvelous light; KJV
  20. One last comment. There were millions of Jews during the Holocaust that were tattooed for identification purposes, as they were numbered to be exterminated in the death camps. Those who survived have been pictured showing them, as a both a sign of the Lord's mercy, and having saved them out of from this terrible tragedy in which they had been appointed. God bless them all.
  21. You are most welcome here, Lois. We would love to answer your questions. We answer from Scripture and from our own experience. The place to turn to is God. He loves you and welcomes you to Himself.
  22. If that's a sleeve, I'd be in dread to see what the rest of the shirt looks like.
  23. Shalom everyone, I thought I'd bring up a different aspect of the understanding of Salvation ... and perhaps in doing so, it'll clear up other aspects of the salvation process that seem to be getting misunderstood. We are created by God as a tri-part being. Paul points out in 1 Thes. 5:23 --Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. What is the Spirit of a man? That which needs to be “BORN AGAIN”. What is the Soul of a man? It’s the mind, will and emotions of a man. What is the body? Our physical body. While this is a basic understanding of the tri-part being … it’s OBVIOUSLY more complex than this … however for this mini-study it will suffice. So let’s start at the beginning … God instructs Adam, if you eat of the tree of good and evil .. you shall surely die. Now, think about … when Adam ate of the fruit … did he physically die? No – not immediately, however his body starts the death process. Did his soul (mind, will and emotions) die? No. What died the day he ate of the fruit of good and evil? His SPIRIT died! He was separated from God ... until his spirit could be redeemed. For through Adam … death came to all men. 1Co 15:21 For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. 1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. And through Christ … all men will be alive … how? 1Co 15:45 Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. As soon as we’re born … our body is ALIVE – our flesh … our soul is alive – our mind, will and emotions … however, we are born “spiritually dead!” As Paul teaches … “Eph 2:1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins .. “ So what is taking place at the MOMENT of SALVATION within the “being” of an individual? At the moment of salvation … the SPIRIT is BIRTHED – it’s BORN AGAIN -- it’s alive and well! However, at the SAME TIME, our SOUL – our mind, will and emotions are being PUT TO DEATH! Think about it … your entire life started was focused on yourself … and at the moment of salvation … your mind, will and emotions are changing … your SOUL is being put to death … and the process of sanctification begins … your putting on the “mind of Christ”, your trying to live out the “will of God”, and your emotions are changing … as you set out to live a life in the Spirit. For the fruit of the Spirit is … “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Also, at the same time, at the moment of salvation ... our flesh is being put to death! Matthew 16:24-25 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. What is the process for which the body and soul is being put to death -- to live out a life in the Spirit? Sanctification! If you confuse .... the work of sanctification ... for being born again ... then you fall into the trap of believing you can "earn your way into the Kingdom of God." So the question is not whether someone can “lose their salvation”? How can the Spirit be “un-birthed” in an individual? The real question is … are you truly saved? Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, [SALVATION] Eph 2:9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. [SANCTIFICATION] Paul writes to the carnal Corinth church, "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves:, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!” [2 Corinthians 13:5. Once a man is truly been birthed into the Kingdom of God … at that very moment a transformation is taking place … the birth of the Spirit … and the beginnings of putting to death the flesh, and the soul of a man! So the question is … “are you truly born again?” Your brother in the Lord with much agape love, George
  24. Sadly my friend we've tried a number of "modern" churches near where we live, and it follows the same pattern. Entertainment, little of the word, give us your money and cya later I have joked for years about starting my own fellowship, the number of people who've said to me "you'd make a great pastor" out of the blue makes me think sometimes....
  25. Yes. Most definitely. Seems some get their jollies by nitpicking Christians and acting holier-than-thou to the unbelievers. We fail to understand that many people read our posts. Do we want them to think of us a Bigoted Baboons (sorry Mr. Baboon). If we do not have a word of encouragement to grace our writings, then my suggestion would be to desist and 'have another thought'. Does not the many, many assemblies in the world think to garner status and a following by criticizing others? We do need to be Light and Life to the world and speak faith in God whenever possible. Even if you are having a bad day, please be kind and understanding because there are many that are having an even worse day and look to forums like this to get a bit of sustenance and help.
  26. Welcome to the forum Blessedknitter, our prayer is that you will find that which you are seeking, as together we go and grow in our knowledge and love for Him. Just as you pick up your needles and start a project, you begin to see things coming together and taking shape, so it is as The Lord deals with us in our lives, "out of little things, big things grow." God bless you on your journey.
  27. WELCOME, Blessedknitter! errrmm... are you a knitter? (just kidding) May you be blessed here.
  28. Hi Diane and welcome back! I'll tell you about something that happened to me nearly fifty years ago. I was walking home from the library one night with a friend, looking up at the stars, enjoying an easy conversation. I remember laughing and having a wonderful time, when all of a sudden, down I went! I had stepped right into an uncovered manhole. I tried to get up, but I couldn't walk. Strong arms lifted me up and carried me the rest of the way home. Falling away can be like that. You love the Lord and feel secure, when all of a sudden Satan lays a trap for you, and unawares, you step right into it. What you need to remember is that the Lord is still right there to lift you out of any dark place you fall into. You can't do life on your own. Tell Him you're sorry. Tell Him you need His help with knowledge, discernment, wisdom, mercy, grace, peace, patience, self-control, faithfulness, kindness, goodness, joy.... all the good and perfect gifts that come from Him that keep you grounded and able to avoid the pitfalls of Satan. Tell Him you need Him with you at all times! This means actually seeking His presence daily. Before you even get out of bed in the morning, ask Him to walk with you through the day. Spend time with Him in the Word, listening to His advice. If you have trustworthy Christian friends, they can pray with you, study with you, and help to hold you accountable, but ultimately it is your own personal relationship with your Savior that will keep you on the right path; and if you fall, He will be right there to lift you up.
  29. Hi, Diane…. So glad to see you back! Sometimes we all get off the path that Jesus would have us walk, but He always invites us back. He is saying to you right now, “This is the way, (now) walk in it!” Jesus’ path is full of light; that’s where you need to stay. …and the fact that you know that you cannot be at peace or happy unless you are living in the light of God’s love proves that you are His—that you belong to Jesus! Be encouraged, sis. Shine on! Isaiah 30:21 21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.
  30. Shalom @diane32 Yes, I did. Through my own selfish and foolish desires and because of my lack of discipline in staying in the Word. It may be more extreme than what you are going through, but hopefully the below brief testimony will help: I unintentionally walked away from Yahweh for a long time (perhaps 7 years?). Partly out of shame and partly out of immersing myself in worldly studies – principally psychology. I still stuck by Scriptural standards, but halfheartedly and without joy. Living like a Christian felt more like work and I didn’t really believe that Yahweh loved ME individually, but more like I was part of the Christian crowd – That He loved me in general, but I was kinda at the back and not really in His eye-line. Does that make sense? Depression came on strongly and I isolated myself from friends, family and eventually even work. I went on medication for the depression, drank a lot, studied various disciplines of psychology more and more for an answer. But all I found was more hopelessness. As time went on, even with the medication and “mindfulness meditation”, I still struggled with life and started to greatly fear the end of days. What would await me? What would the persecution be like for me? Will I be tortured? What about when I meet the Lord Jesus? Won’t He be angry with me and say “I never knew you”? At this time, I slowly walked back to the Lord. I didn’t know how to do it but I thought that I just needed to get back to wherever He is. I needed to search Him out. If I was so ready to end my life, why not instead use it to search Him out? So I decided to pray, each morning, the following prayer. “Yahweh, I love you. Please give me wisdom, in the name of the Lord Yahushua (Jesus)”. That’s it. It’s all I could manage! But I kept it up for months. As well as this, I made it a mission to read the Bible cover-to-cover, and to repeat that cycle endlessly – until I could almost memorise sections. I made it a mission to leave no stone unturned – by investigating every Scripture or book that I was confused about – with the aid of audio commentaries. I didn’t rush though. Genesis may take 3 months. So what! Why rush through when reading the Bible is a lifetime pilgrimage. Time went by and my prayers naturally became longer. Joy started coming back into my heart. I stopped the antidepressants cold (which you should never do) and amazingly felt no side effects or withdrawal, or need for them ever again. Rather, I felt better – happy, emotionally stable, and full of love for Yahweh again. From there I went from strength to strength, by His grace. I stayed in prayer at least once every morning, and read or listened to Scripture or a commentary on it, DAILY – during lunch and commuting. Then, about 3 years later, I sought the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I had heard much about it and been taught that it should have happened already, with the laying on of hands after my water baptism. But that wasn’t good enough for me. It didn’t feel like anything happened back then and what I read in the Bible sounded dramatic. So, I made it my only life goal to seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit above all things. After much seeking, it happened for me (thank you Yahweh!) and now I doubt I could ever fall away to that dark place again, by His grace and the guidance of His Spirit. In summary, it wasn’t brother or sisters who pulled me back. Thankfully not, as my faith and reliance would be partially grounded in them! Instead, I had even felt judgment and criticism from some unfortunately. But our walk is, fundamentally, an individual one. Therefore, don’t compare yourself or assume any kind of support from the Church. If it’s there, great. In my experience, it wasn’t. So my message to you is to keep your faith simple. Offer a simple but honest sacrifice of thanksgiving to Yahweh, every morning and evening. Make it your mission to understand every book of the Bible, leave no grey areas! Fully commit yourself to that journey, as this is your lifetime pilgrimage with the Father, as He talks to you through His Word – even in obscure passages. Above all things, seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit (if you haven’t been baptized already). This is paramount. Again, keep your walk simple, pure and holy between you and Yahweh, through the Lord Jesus. As you keep this up, some wonderful things will happen for you and, one day, you’ll find the idea of falling away again as repulsive. Because as you draw near to Him, He’ll draw near to you with much love and grace, and give you an endless shalom. Only then will you be ready for serving Him with your gifts. It might take 1 month it might take 10 years. Proceed as if it’s the former but be prepared for if it’s the latter. Love & Shalom
  31. Baptism With The Holy Spirit. Author: Elvis Welber About 830 BC, God spoke through the prophet Joel who would pour out of his Spirit upon all flesh and this would result in prophetic dreams, prophecies and visions. Joel 2: 28-29. Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and virtue and performed many miracles. Acts 10:38. John the Baptist said that Jesus is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:11. For God to begin the fulfillment of the prophecy of Joel 2: 28,29, first Christ would have to die and be resurrected and then send the promise of the Spirit upon the believers. John 16: 7. Jesus after resurrecting He stayed 40 days on earth before ascending to the heavens. He commanded the disciples to stay in Jerusalem because they would be clothed with power. Luke 24:49. On the day of Pentecost, the disciples received the baptism with the Holy Spirit and spoke in other languages. Acts 2.1-4. To be baptized with the Spirit means to be immersed in the power of the Spirit. When a person is baptized in the waters, he is immersed in the waters by the baptizer. In baptism with the Holy Spirit Christ is this baptizing and he immerses the Christian in the Spirit. This wonderful experience will deepen the believer's relationship with God, enable him to do the work of God, bring spiritual strength to face persecution, power to overcome sin, live a holy life and an openness to receiving spiritual gifts for church building .
  32. When peace like a river attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say It is well, it is well, with my soul It is well With my soul It is well, it is well with my soul Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control, That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, And hath shed His own blood for my soul
  33. I know this sounds cliche, but I promise you it is the truth. God is at work in our lives — yours and mine at this very moment — to shape us into the vessels He would have us to be. Not the vessel He’ll be happy with a week from now, a year from now, or even a decade from now... but a vessel that will please Him to our everlasting benefit. This human life is a vapor. 80 years? 90 years? Hardly a blip on the radar compared to our everlasting life with Him. I’ve learned that God is not as interested in our human ambitions as we think He is. Whether or not we have a great career, lots of friends, a nice family... He will cut those things off in a minute in the interest of our greater spiritual good. Jesus tried very hard to explain this to us in Scripture. It’s better to cut off your right hand and enter God’s kingdom than to keep all your limbs and go nowhere. Those limbs don’t mean as much to God as they mean to us. He’s aiming to strip us down to a vessel fit for every good work. Nothing between us and Him. No idol in our hearts, no ambition we’re willing to disobey Him for, no concern for our own human success. Nothing but a passion to obey Him. That’s His aim for our lives. If you pray a lot for God to do a great work in your life, or to turn you into a great vessel for Him, get ready to start losing a few right hands, and yes, it will hurt. Children move out when they turn 18. Businesses close, money dries up, friends move away, spouses eventually die... and then what? Have you been hiding your life in Christ? And the Lord said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Beth–lehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. — 1 Samuel‬ ‭16:1‬ Your life is not what you thought it would be. Welcome to the Christian walk. Paul’s life didn’t work out the way he thought it would either. Get up, say goodbye to those old ambitions, and submit yourself to the mighty hand of God.
  34. Thanks! ❤️ Im sure God knew beforehand this topic, like many other non essential topics, would cause “division” within the Body of Christ......but I believe it is up to us to apply Christ’s greater teaching.....”They will know me by your love for one another (Body of Christ)......” When we get that down watch satan flee........unfortunately he has gotten a lot of miles out of dividing us over doctrines. Sigh!
  35. their fire will not be quenched, and their worm dieth not? weeping and gnashing of teeth? dont sound like annihilationism to me. Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. the wicked perish because God is life and they have no God in them. (I am the way, the truth and the life)
  36. A guy I used to work with had this BIG gorgeous tattoo on his arm! It said in beautifully tattooed letters “ KAREN”. I enjoyed meeting his wife of 30 years—- JOYCE! Never had the nerve to ask her opinion of tattoos .
  37. None of us measure His righteousness ... why did Jesus die? 2 Cor 5:21 For He has made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. We are righteous ... only because of HIM! God bless, George
  38. Sounds like you are just enduring a little lack of assurance....... hopefully a temporary thing. This is the result of Modern Day Judaizers creeping in . You are wise to be reading Galations! It tells how Paul dealt with this problem 2000 years ago. “ A little leaven ruins the entire lump” Paul tells these poor deceived Believers the way to get back on track.Notice how your problem parallels The problems of the Galations......Paul told them “ they started so well”......So did you! You understood the GRACE provided by Jesus Sacrifice and it “ transformed” you. You did not receive this transformation by mastering the Laws Of God, Did you? Of course not ! Break one— you are guilty of breaking them all! You simply accepted God’s Grace and it changed you. Paul chided his followers for not continuing in the way they started! If obeying all the laws did not get them the Spirit Of God that saved them, how was worrying about the Law now going to do anything for them? Paul told them to finish the Christian Walk in the same manner that they started it—- faith in Christ! Once saved how are we to LIVE? “ The RIGHTEOUS shall LIVE by FAITH. You have+been blessed by the Holy Spirit to have the self- knowledge and the Wisdom to see that you can’t live up to God’s Standard—- That Standard is perfection! Nobody can achieve it! You have left the Fools Paradise that tells the lost they can make it with their pathetic attempts to achieve a sinkess life. God is perfect. His Son is Perfect. The Holy Spirit is perfect. He is surrounded by billions of His Angels that don’t miss a beat. He is not looking for perfection— He is looking for TRUST! A thing that can’t be created. If you give Him the trust he so desires, He will GIVE you all these things you are fretting about! Go back to your starting point of faith alone and realize that if you trust Jesus and depend solely on HIS Performance and not yours, you will find victory and peace. You need to go back to TRUSTING - not TRYING! For your faith, God will “ no longer remember” your sins, and that means past ,present and future sins! ( Collosians says “all your sins” and the Greek word for “all” means everything you could ever think of) God will put your sins on the Cross, totally forgive you, and put His Spirit inside you that will change “ the inside of the cup” .Sin will decrease in your life with that indwelling Holy Spirit that can never sin. When your old Adamic Nature rears it’s ugly head, and it will, God’s Grace will cover it and all others sins until He gets you HOME.Sin in your life will be will become more and more sickening to you, and God will lovingly correct you if need be.Your Salvation will remain intact.... “ God will save to the uttermost , those that come to Him through Christ” Just give Him you trust He desires and “ He will finish the work He started”. REST in the finished work of the Cross, thank God for His Grace, and you will FIND yourself living a life that pleases God.......more to follow...
  39. Is the blood of Christ precious to you? It is precious to me. Recently in another thread someone mentioned the blood of Christ in a way that was very disrespectful. My spirit cringed when they talked so flippantly about the precious blood of Christ....just trying to make their point. I wonder what our dear Savior thinks of this? Of course, His precious blood even covers their sin of being disrespectful to Him. Lately I've wondered if there are some trolls here who just come to argue with the born again Christians. We that are seeking to walk with the Lord in daily life but are constantly condemned as sinning continually by some here. It's very sad.
  40. I would hope this doesn't happen in all the churches you've visited. Next time it does however, take the missus with you to the car, and drive to a nice quiet place to recover yourselves. Sounds like a dreadful experience - no pun intended! P.S. Church worship should be a pleasant experience, and not one that you'd want to resort to the necessity of a protective hearing device. It's not supposed to be like going to some firing range for instance.
  41. Myself and so many others here and in other forums have said - we who believe in eternal security do NOT believe what you just said that we believe. We do NOT believe getting saved and then living how ever we want to. I've only attended churches that teach the security of the believer and have never in my life heard anything remotely like this. Every pastor I've ever been under preached on sin TO the congregation. Christians should repent, change, fall on their faces in Godly sorrow when they sin. Like me a couple of weeks ago, someone pulled out in front of me and almost caused a terrible wreck. Instead of immediately thanking God for his protection and the protection of those in two other cars, I got mad. I laid on that horn! I called the person a stupid idiot under my breath. I stayed mad for about 5 more minutes wishing they would have their driver's license revoked. I had a critical spirit. I had a prideful spirit thinking myself the perfect driver. I had a harmful anger. I desired for the other driver to be punished. And I didn't repent of that for several days. I forgot about it quickly, but did not repent until I thought of it later. Even though I believe that my eternal salvation was not made null and void by that sin, I STILL NEEDED to confess that and repent of it - repent meaning to watch myself carefully to not do that again. We who believe in eternal security believe in a daily taking up of the cross and following Jesus. It's not always easy. We fail sometimes. But our Christ is our Intercessor. We plead the blood and turn away when we err. We do NOT believe in "getting saved" and then living like the devil.
  42. What to you do with all the words like forever, eternal, etc. that are promised to those who believe, and are even expressed as a done deal? I agree that salvation is for the obedient, but not for the perfect, the perfect do not need salvation, so, salvation is for sinners! Do we suppose then, that God does not conform believers to the image of His Son, and that He cannot make His own stand up. and persevere? Or do we just toss those verses out as though they do not mean anything? However, isn't the question of this thread, not about if sinners are saved or not, but if those who believe in OSAS are saved? That is what it looked like to me!
  43. I think like most doctrines this one is and has beenn gravely abused. I think God gave the gifts to the church and as long as the Lord's church is in the earth, we will recieve the gifts as the Holy Spirit dispenses them for God's purposes in Christ. I think every gift from God is good but not everyone claiming they have the gift actually does. It's strange but the absolute truth. A young Christian man I know was visiting his father in Australia. He was getting his laundry from a coin washer and putting it in the dryer. A brown snake, 2nd deadliest in the world bit him on the hand. I got a call from his fiance who I also adore. All she could get out was a scream. Sam is dieing, please pray and she hung up. I fell to the floor face down feeling her pain. And all that came out was a beautiful language, I did not know. But, I did know it relayed the urgency and delivered that package of love, sorrow, desperation and faith to God that had knocked me to the ground. That is the only time in 42 years of Christianity, I was blessed with that gift and it was not something i consider a less desirable gift. I didn't even know what was killing Sam. I found out later when she called. He was in an ambulance still 15 minutes from a hospitail that had treatment (anti venom) all his organs had shut down he was unconscious and his heart had just stopped. When he got to the hospital he was conscious again. Everything was working and he went home 3 days later with a bandage on his hand. All I can say is the Lord is good and if he wants to give the gift of tounges or leave anyone unscathed from a venomous snake bite, He will.
  44. Seems like your discouraged maybe because your focused in the wrong things in a church...multi ethnic? Full of energy? Don't get me wrong those aren't bad things...but they're not the core of a church The 2 most important things in any church is do they follow the Bible, and do they show love. And I mean honestly and sincerely show love. If their faith is truly in Christ it will show in how they love others, regardless of how energetic the worship team is or how many cultures are represented.
  45. Yes there is a division within the Body of Christ over the OSAS doctrine.. But is the OSAS doctrine a core doctrine of salvational importance equal to the doctrine of the Atonement of the LORD Jesus or the doctrine of the bodily raising from the dead of our LORD Jesus? I don't think Christians should have their faith in Jesus shaken because one of their brothers believes in OSAS and another of their bothers does not.. I believe some people take these doctrines and raise them to a level of importance where they are willing to break fellowship with others over it..
  46. Welcome, kevana. I hope you will find answers here. Many here also disagree about eternal security. I think that it depends on whether we are bearing fruit as to our security. Those who are in fellowship with God and with other believers, and who are bearing fruit probably are saved and God will keep them. Jesus didn't lose any that God had given Him but for Judas, and He committed the rest of us to the Father to keep us. The warnings not to fall away are mostly in Hebrews. The Jewish Christians were rejecting Christ and going back to Judaism partly because of persecution and partly because He didn't set up His earthly kingdom at that time. It is the people who are neglecting their salvation or taking it for granted, or who leave Christianity for another religion that need to worry. God sends us warnings to bring us back to Himself. He did that to me when I was backslidden.
