  1. Worthy is back up and running after a catastrophic collapse of a database server. Sometime in the middle of the night on January 16, 2023, an automatic update of a database server caused the server to fail. So, database updates are mostly about keeping things secure, right? But this time, it kind of backfired and made our database server crash. It took us two whole days to figure out what went wrong. In the end, we had to reinstall the server and rebuild each database from scratch. On this particular server sits a host of Worthy sites, such as the forums, our Worthy News Syndication Service, the Worthy Prayer Team, Worthy Bible, Worthy Brief, and some smaller sites. So you can imagine the impact of the Kingdom when that server went offline … So, the databases for our other sites were pretty small, and we got those sites online Friday night. But the forums database? It's huge! We're talking about 7.3 gigs, which is like 7 billion, 300 million bits of info. That's a lot of information to rebuild! That’s literally 23 years of information that thousands of people where people have posted, shared, fellowshipped … it’s really amazing when you think of the impact we’ve had over the years! But with that, the database is so massive, and with so many people trying to get onto Worthy these past few days, every hit was causing the database to be accessed. It actually made the reconstruction of the database grind to a halt and even fail a few times in trying to rebuild it. Yesterday, my programmer, who's already got a full-time job, came up with a plan on Friday. He suggested we build the database again but do it outside of the main Worthy Database everyone's trying to use. Basically, set up a parallel one and then rename it. This way, we could finish rebuilding the database without interruption. Basically, that process of rebuilding so many bytes of information took over 45 hours, and that, in a nutshell, is what happened. I've got a crazy amount of emails from folks and couldn't reply to them all, so please forgive me. I'm juggling rebuilding Worthy while preaching on the road, traveling, homeschooling, and keeping Worthy News updated... it's pretty wild sometimes! Anyway, we are back and running … the database restore was from January 14th, so any posts that you may have written after that date are lost forever. Pray for Worthy up in prayer... and for those who are aware of the current situation in Israel, you'll understand the spiritual battle we're engaged in! As a pastor, I urge you to remember that almost every ministry deeply involved with Israel is facing severe spiritual warfare. If I could explain without revealing too much private information, but leaders having organ transplants, leaders of central ministries stepping down due to failing due to the vices of sin, to malicious attacks by significant publications, and now one of our servers having a catastrophic loss of a database server that impacts the lives across the world by the thousands per day! We’ve already sent to ministries in our homeland of Israel over $20,000 over the past two months. However, I believe that this war is just getting started. In a nutshell, commanders of the IDF were told not to plan for any summer vacations … and this is the time to think about a vacation after such a strenuous war ... however, you have to start realizing this physical war is really the manifestation of a historic spiritual war! Here's a takeaway from this experience... Like I said to my wife last year, we need to plan strategically for when we might be offline. Not because of anything we've done but due to potential internet censorship that could be on the horizon. What would you do in ministry … if you didn’t go online? How would you impact people? For us, I’m setting up outdoor events in the park and simply having old-school revival meetings! The King is coming … is your life ready .. if you’re like me, we’re so far away from where we need to be, but we’re striving for the high calling in Christ Jesus … in Yeshua HaMashiach … and we’re anticipating at the end of the age … well, done thou good and faithful servant! Be blessed .. continue to pray for us … Worthy is BACK! https://p3n9m3v6.stackpathcdn.com/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png Your brother in the Lord, with much agape love, George

  2. Shalom everyone, We have successfully moved Worthy Forums onto a faster and newer server! Just a reminder, what we do isn't free ... it does cost the ministry some cash! However, we WILL NEVER BURDEN anyone with constant appeals, letters, etc. We live by a simple rule of faith ... If its God's Will, It's God's Bill! The new server is a bit faster with more memory, and a larger Hard Drive to handle what I perceive as the biggest move of God that will take place in the history of the world! As a reminder to yourselves as you post on Worthy ... I'm interested in topics / and replies that will bring forth Kingdom Fruit! As we learn to disagree in love, let's never forget what Paul said in Ephesians. Let's post "with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. [Ephesians 4:2-3]" Be a blessing ... and you'll be blessed! Your brother in the Lord with much agape love, George

  3. This is a verse I always remember when I sometimes run into unkind words on some Christian forums. There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:18 I think Christians should be kind. There is a lot of pain in the world and maybe someone needs our kindness. We never know what our words might do for someone, both unbelievers and believers.

  4. I do love Malachi's little prophecy. Chapter 3 verse 16 is very encouraging indeed: "Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name."

  6. The Lord loved us even when we were enemies of God. He gave Himself for our sake before we were even born. What does the royal law mean? Love your neighbor as yourself so long as your neighbor meets with your approval? Not so. We can be a friend to anyone in this world, brother. This does not mean that we do as others do but rather, that we walk in those good works Christ created us to do. I have witnessed more than one shunned and reviled by Christians respond to simple kindness and a helping hand. Indeed, the Lord sent me to them --- or them to me --- for that very reason. I haven't forgotten where I came from and where I was when the Son of God snatched me away from this world.

  7. All of us 'In Christ' have been made members of His very own family as sons and daughters. As such, we are desirious of treating one another in a manner that pleases our Lord. A fair measure of this may be to behave toward others in the same way that we each wish to be treated....with love, grace, mercy and understanding. In addition to these things, how we carry ourselves on this forum, is what vsitors see of examples of christian behavior. I think that the spirit of the Terms of Service has these things as the goal for Worthy. To be a witness for Christ. To be a reflection of who He is and His work in each of us. None of us are perfect and we all of us as brothers and sisters require His wonderful and tender Grace and Mercy and of course--LOVE. May God bless us all and help us to be this Witness for His Names sake.

Was actually feeling sick.,Anyway sorry I felt I was not helping and wasted myself but I have a feeling Jesus who really runs things brought me and many others to George’s Ministry here at worthy Christian forum. I know I am not a good writer or super bright. But at least I am in Gods family! That’s a very high place. Thanks and forget what I wrote and don’t mention it I hate attention. Blessings

  12. I am a full-time caregiver to my elderly, disabled mom. Every day is the same for me in taking care of my mom. And I am 73 years old myself and don't walk well like I used to. The first thing I think of when getting up is: "This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24 Remembering the above is a good way to start my day. Also, I always remember the following verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:18: "in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." We give thanks in everything, not just when things are all going well for us. Our attitudes in life can make a big difference in our days....how we see life and approach things

  13. On a flight home yesterday I was considering the OSAS arguments, both the pros and cons. I decided to jot down reason why I know I’m eternally saved and secure in this wonderful salvation. Below are 12 reasons that came to me, and I thought to share them with my brothers and sisters here on Worthy. I hope and sincerely pray these may be a help to some and that God would shine liberating light on all of us. (I you don’t see an applicable verse for any of these – please ask) 1. Nothing can separate me from the love of God – not even me! (Romans 8:38-39) 2. Christ’s ultimate sacrifice on the cross paid for ALL my sins – “removed as far as the east is from the west” (Psalm 103:12) 3. By being born-again, God’s very life has been sent into me – “Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts crying, ‘Abba! Father!’” (John 3:6, Galatians 4:6) 4. Old things have passed away and I am a new creature in Christ! (2 Corinthians 5:17, Col. 3:1-3) 5. I have been placed into Christ – joined to Him - and placed in His body by the Supreme Power in the universe, which no one can undo – “It is of God that you are in Christ Jesus” “He that is joined to the Lord is one Spirit with Him” (1 Cor 1:30, 12:18, 6:17, 2 Cor 1:21, Eph 2:6) 6. I am now a child/son of God, born of my Father, and a partaker of His divine nature. (2 Peter 1:4) 7. Christ’s attributes and inheritance are mine forever, given to us by our older Brother. “in Him . . . the righteousness of God in Christ” “Joint heirs with Christ” (2 Cor 5:21, Romans 8:17) 8. God now looks at me as He does His Son and we are sealed for Him by the Spirit. (Eph 1:13, 1 John 4:17, Gal 2:20, Col 3:3-4) 9. There is now no condemnation for me whatsoever, since I have been put into Christ! (Romans 8:1) 10. I know that as His child there is accountability and discipline to help me grow and mature, but it is all for the good and therefore, my loving Father will not send me to eternal death. (1 Cor 3:12, Rev 3:19, Heb 12:11, Psalm 16:10) 11. My identification is now as a son of God with His life in me, but sin is still present in my flesh and can be manifested in my actions. However, God no longer views me as a sinner (because of the all efficacious work of Christ for me), but rather as a child of God, a saint who sometimes sins. 12. I have been set free for freedom’s sake and can come boldly ANYTIME to the throne of grace, to obtain mercy and grace to help in time of need. And this is especially true after I fail! It has been bothering and a little grieving to me to see all my brothers and sisters on here who don’t realize what a complete work Christ has done for us in giving us eternal life, which may never be taken from us! Christ’s awesome work, in His substitutionary death and resurrection, results in His very life being made available to “whosoever wills.” And through being born-again we are made God’s children, who can’t be unborn. Being God’s children is not just a legal matter of adoption, but also a matter of life – Father’s very life comes into us making us children of the Most High and Christ’s brothers! And hopefully the aspect of a believer’s accountability has been effectively presented in this post and on various recent threads (by others & myself). To reiterate, even though we are forgiven of sin because of Christ’s magnificent work on the cross, sin in a believer’s life can still cause many problems. The new life that is in us does not want to sin, however we still have the choice to live according to the sinful flesh. If we do, Romans 8:13 tells us we “are about to die.” (then goes on to say, “But if by the spirit you put to death the practices of the body you will live.”) This is not referring to eternal death here, but rather the living spirit in us will be deadened by setting our mind on the flesh, that is, until we turn back to Him. Ultimately, all believers will be judged at the Judgement (Bema) Seat of Christ, discussed in Romans 14:10 and 2 Cor 5:10. Here, the Righteous Judge will determine whether children of God have built (our works) with good materials (gold, silver, precious stone) or poor materials (wood, hay, straw). If we did well and built with the materials God desires, we will receive accommodation and praise from Him. If it’s found we lived in sin and built with a bunch of poor materials, these poor building materials will be judged accordingly and will be burnt up. Therefore, we will suffer loss and He will be ashamed of us, but since we are still sealed children of our Father, we ourselves will be saved. So that’s why I know that I know that I know that I have eternal life, which I cannot undo . . . no more that I can climb back into my mother’s womb and somehow be unborn. Yes, it is truly amazing grace! “When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” “It is of God that you are in Christ Jesus.” Exodus 12:13 & 1 Corinthians 1:30

  14. I agree, but it should go beyond words when needed. James 2:16, part of the "faith without works is dead" passage has this to say: "If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?" I went through a period of being destitute, distressed, and on the verge of homelessness and was walking miles to churches with a fairly agonizing back problem. I got a lot of kind words. When I came across a church whose pastor took the time to pray with me and offered me a ride home it meant the world to me. I'm definitely remembering him as long as my earthly memory permits.

  15. Hi faithful, YOU are the problem, (same for all of us) we want to DO things to show God........ You say God wanted you to do......then you say God was telling you that you didn`t have to do them....... You are NOT hearing God. You are hearing your own insecurities. I strongly suggest you don`t DO anything but concentrate on the Lord and His character from God`s word . Focus on HIM and NOT YOURSELF.

  17. I guess I feel differently about life now that I am approaching 70 years of life here on earth. I quit questioning the Lord's wisdom for my existence a long time ago. Jesus told us we would have trials and tribulations while we are here, but I am thankful for every single day he has blessed me with. I have children, grandchildren and great grandchildren I am thankful for and who bring joy to my life. I have other family and friends who have helped me and given me a shoulder to cry on when needed and I do the same for them. I have been the arms and legs for Jesus and his message of forgiveness and salvation everywhere I can and whenever I can as I believe that once we commit our lives to Jesus we become disciples for him during our time on earth. The world is filled with lost people who need to hear the Good News not more bad news. I also love the creation God has made and enjoy as many places as I can. Nature is a favorite so being in the beauty of outdoors is such a blessing. I have never found my life to be boring or uneventful and know God always has a reason and purpose for everything. When scripture talks about love, happiness, joy, grace, wisdom, knowledge, serving others, prayer, praise, worship, the goodness and love of the Father towards his people, how could I ever not be thankful for my existence?

  18. For many years my family celebrated my mother-in-law's birthday on July 4th, as we thought it was her birthday. When she died we had to prepare an obituary, and then we found out that she was actually born on July 11th. We celebrated her birthday on the wrong day. That did not change anything, and, in fact although it was error, all those birthdays were joyous times of focusing our attention on her and loving her. Frankly, I could care less if Christmas was created on or around a pagan holiday, and I could care less if it is probably not around the time of Jesus' actual birthday. I celebrate it as a time of rehearsing the biblical accounts of Jesus' birth found in Luke and Matthew and am in awe of how Jesus clothed Himself with a body, and was born for us, to redeem us back unto God. So . . . if people condemn me for celebrating Christmas because of a pagan holiday or bad timing, thats ok . . . maybe . . . BUT keep in mind 'why' I am celebrating it with family and friends, and try to ignore the obvious historical errors and timings etc. My 2 cents . . . . Ray . . . .

  19. Exodus 3:13–15 (KJV) 13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. This passage names God YHVH and defines the name YHVH. The statement of eternality (existence without beginning or end and utterly dependent upon nothing other than self). The statement is also devoid of tense (meaning it is all three past, present, future in application): I AM BECAUSE I AM I WAS BECAUSE I WAS I WILL BE BECAUSE I WILL BE Expressed in the Greek in this manner: Revelation 1:8 (KJV) 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

  20. When man was made he was given fruit and herbs to eat. When Noah emerged from the Ark, he was given "ALL THINGS" except blood to eat. Some thousand years later, God chose a special Nation among all the Nations with whom He would dwell. To this Nation ONLY did God give a Law that would make them righteous and RITUALLY CLEAN so that God could dwell WITH them. They were given a Law to live by to achieve this. God did not dwell with any other Nation and God made no Covenant of Law with any other Nation. When our Lord Jesus came He fulfilled the Law. He was the first and only man to do it. His righteousness is taken by God and imputed to any man or woman who believes in His Person and Work The reason for this is that God has changed His dwelling place. He now lives IN man (Jn.4:24, John Chapter 14, Jn.20:22). The Law is inadequate for this as Christ's righteousness went over and above Law. No man but Christ can satisfy God's standard. If a Jew rejects Christ, he is still bound by Law. A Covenant does not end when one party breaks it. It comes into full effect and the penalties are applied. Israel still have to fulfill the Law and that is why God dos not do away with Law. But it still ONLY APPLIES to the Jew. If a Jew embraces Christ, the Law becomes his enemy. It is a "partition" because it requires separation from Gentiles, while the Church requires UNITY. For the Jewish convert to Christianity, the Law is nailed to Christ's cross. (Eph.2:15). The ex-Jew may eat all things but blood. The Nations never got the Law. They are not required to keep it and may eat anything but blood. Any believer who makes laws to forbid food except blood is in danger of fallen under 1st Timothy 4:1-5; 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. In both John 13 and Acts 10 God has made it clear that a Believer in Christ is made ritually clean by Christ and not by Law.

  21. Do you find it hard to forgive others? I forgive easily. I guess I just take the words of Jesus and the Bible about forgiving very simply....and just do it. People who will not forgive only hurt themselves. It can cause bitterness within a person and a lack of peace because the Holy Spirit is grieved within them. 30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:30-32

  22. Based upon a few discussions on here lately, I felt compelled to share this. In the local ekklesia I fellowship with consistently, we have those who hold various beliefs or practices including: · Arminianism · Calvinism · Dispensationalism · Amillennialism · Tongue speakers · Non-tongue speakers · New earthers · Old earthers · Pre-trib · Post-trib · Mid-trib · Multiple raptures However, when we get together we purpose to just make our focus to be Christ and sola scriptura and not particular views or systematized theology. I am pleased to say we are learning (through much trial and error) that we are never truly one in various teachings and practices - our oneness is only in Christ and the one Spirit we share. I must admit I sometimes am tempted to show others I fellowship with why my stance on something is correct and theirs is off. The flesh is ever ready to judge another! But, thankfully, the inner Anointing usually constrains me from doing that. "Behold how good and pleasant it is, when brethren dwell together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1) I think it's good to remind ourselves that all of these things listed above are non-essentials of the faith (at least in my estimation). The essentials are: Do we believe Christ lived, died and rose again and will return soon? Does He live in each of us? Do we allow His Spirit to operate in and through us? Do we love one another with the love He has given us, being patient, kind and long-suffering with them (regardless of the non-essential views each might hold)? So this is pretty much the same on this forum, right? There is nothing wrong with sharing our different views of scripture and theology - iron does sharpen iron. But I think it's helpful to put things in perspective --> by our responses to one another, may we not get all wrapped up in teachings and always be conscious "of the one for whom Christ died." (Rom 14:15) They will know us by our love (John 13:35), not our supposed unity in teachings and practices! Do you think this is a edifying word? PS: Putting labels on one another simply divides and is what Paul warns us about in 1st Corinthians 3. It is often the basis for accusations and the devil loves to categorize as a means to separate us from one another.

  23. I have the local RCC channel as a preprogrammed button on my car radio, and will listen to it from time to time if there's nothing on any of the other Christian radio stations. From time to time the speaking can be pretty good and doesn't get into the Mary thing. Being steeped in scripture for 30-40 years has made me learn the real thing pretty well, to the point that when a counterfeit is presented it is usually apparent. But when they start with the Mary thing, or telling someone to ask a particular patron "saint" to intercede on a matter, it really doesn't take much discernment to know how anti-scripture this stuff is! It is full-on heresy that the RCC just made up, and now the erroneous traditions of men have completely supplanted scripture. We love those in the RCC, but the system is not of God.

  38. You are telling us something that we already know and have already known for most of our lives. At my church and in my family we celebrate December 25 NOT AS Christ's literal birthday, but as an acknowledgment of the fact that God sent Christ to earth via a virgin birth to eventually become a man [also God] to die for our sins. It's obvious that you hate Christmas - so what. Don't celebrate it. Just remember, not doing so doesn't make you a better Christian. I love it for a variety of reasons. Let me celebrate it in peace and let me celebrate Christ my own way. It doesn't make me an ignorant Christian.

  39. No. I had the original 2 without side effects because at the time I did not know what we were up against being it was so hyped up with all the news of hospitalizations, etc., plus they boasted 95% efficiency rate with the shot. But when people were getting sick again even with the boosters and masking up again, I knew this shot was not working and was crazy (the definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and hoping to get a different result). It did not seem as bad of a disease that they were hyping it up about - heck, I don't even get the flu shot, so why this booster every season? It had its 3 strikes, actually more than 3 strikes. Keep your immune system healthy instead. God made a good one for us.

  40. I will share it first. When I was born, we lived in a hillside area and very poor, no Christianity in our community and never heard of Christ. Our forefathers believed in animism, worshiping objects such as stones, rocks, mountains, trees, and sacrificing animals to them. Around 1992, a missionary came to our village, despite much resistance by some villagers, our parents converted to Christianity, and today the entire community embraced Christianity. However, there was no Sunday School class at the village that I had limited knowledge of salvation in childhood but only a regular church member. When I was 19 years old, I received Christ on November 8, 2009, through a preacher during a particular occasion. What supernatural encounter has touched you to see Christ?

  42. Hello all, it's been a minute since I've checked in bit after what I'm about to tell I had to tell someone about this because God is truly truly good. Okay, so at work everything was fine atleast in the beginning. There was a set of women I was cordial with but eventually everyone's true colors would show. So at my job there's a production to meet and I'm not the fastest person. ( I'm going to give little names for the people I worked with. A, B, C, T and Anny) One day me and A were left together to work and one box I had had alot of pieces I had to scan up to 1600.( I did a few more but not as much as her bc my box had more volume whereas hers didnt..maybe 300 pieces ) A complained they did more boxes. So T is close to A and A told T how she complained to rhe supervisors about me and how slow I was and why they left her with me bc I'm slow and management responded that they'd get rid of me as soon as another employee got brought on board. ( I also wasnt the only person A would say was slow. )One day when it was just me and T she told me everything bc she knew I was a mom and said if I'm not looking for another job now is the time.. So I appreciated the heads up so much. Fast fwd..management is tightening their belt and firing people left and right and I saw the employee they brought on and my heart kinda fell bc I was nervous of being let go. Along with noticing how barren the work place was.. I noticed.. A wasn't here. That person missed 2 days in a row. And I asked T and she asked around what happened to A from a supervisor ...and they said.. They fired them. When T told me that I was so astonished. Now someone losing their job is never a good thing but it'd thr simple fact that person was digging a ditch for me and fell in their self. And I had no idea A was trying to fire me. I'm so grateful to God and thanked him many times.

  43. Yes, there are catholics here. THere are an untold number of true believers attached to the Roman church that simply aren't aware of the errors--many having no other experience. Because they are brethren--folks that Christ suffered for just as you and I, we ought to love them and there is a better way to express your thoughts. We can slam folks with our high powered doctrine gun, or actually try to instruct, as the LOrd directs. There is a better way... Phil. 4:5 (NAS20S) Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. The Lord is near. 1Th. 2:7 (NAS20S) But we proved to be gentle among you. As a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children, 1Tim. 3:3 (NAS20S) not overindulging in wine, not a bully, but gentle, not contentious, free from the love of money. Titus 3:2 (NAS20S) to slander no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing every consideration for all people. James 3:17 (NAS20S) But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, free of hypocrisy. 1Pet. 2:18 (NAS20S) Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are harsh. 1Pet. 3:4 (NAS20S) but it should be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.

  44. I needed a presta to Schrader valve adapter for my mountain bike in order to add slime (tubeless tires) so I could use the needed power of my compressor to get it to lock up and seal. Walmart in town said they had it in stock, so off I went. All gone and no employees to help--I was just about to leave and the Lord put it in my head to look way down underneath the bottom shelf and there it was--one all by itself adapter laying way back there. I thanked the Lord and told the story to a fella on the way out. Praise the Lord for caring about simple things for His children.

  45. At our weekly brothers' breakfast this morning, a bother conveyed how he was talking this week with a group of teenage boys he was coaching at a Christian academy. It was the end of the baseball season for them, and he was giving them the season's closing head coach speech. He told them, "You probably expect me to tell you that back when I was in your shoes, I was just young and stupid. But 35 years later here I am today, just old and stupid!" The point, he told them, was that when he was their age he did a lot of dumb things in his pursuit of the Lord, and that 35 years later has much changed? Nope - he still does a lot of stupid things! That is, he still carries the fallen flesh and still strays from the Lord. But wisdom has come in that he now recognizes his fallibility and propensity to stray and do dumb things, and that his only hope is to let the Lord operate in him in the midst of his stupidity! I love it - how great an insight is that!? We are basically nothing and cannot add one inch to our growth (physically or spiritually) through any trying we might do. Our only hope continues to be about just trusting in Him and not ourselves, and therefore it still remains to simply allow Him to operate in us! (and when we do those dumb things, to remember His blood covers even that . . . no condemnation . . . we get back up and say, "Lord Jesus you love me - help me once again!")

  47. The Lord has told us we would have trouble down here. Sometimes it takes a wakeup call. Sometimes it may seem we are hopelessly stuck in a bad place. I thought this would be a good thread to post scriptures that lift us all up. Remind us who we are. Affirm our place in Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. Which passages have comforted you?
