  1. NewtoChrist, I have had friends crippled by depression. So depressed, they hadn't the energy to get out of bed. It can take a toll on a person. It can effect one not just emotionally, but physically. I suffer from bipolar disorder. At times, I suffer very severe depression. Then at times, I am extremely filled with joy. I, as well, am schitzophrenic. I have suffered with it all my life. Most of my life I have faced demons who weren't really there or strong delusions that had me walking the streets at night in search of nothing. I have overcome a lot of my troubles with the help of God and medication. I inherited my disorders from one of my parents. Both of my parents are bipolar, one of them is as well schitzophrenic. I can't live a normal life, because my mind isn't normal. =) I do want to say I'll pray for you. You inspire me to be grateful for who I am no matter the troubles. Thanks!
  2. NewtoChrist, you are very inspiring. Through you troubles, you seem to have come closer to the truth than I have. I, especially, love your signature. It deepens my faith. I hope you the best. You are surely a blessing!
  3. Let's pray they don't. It doesn't help that, if it is true, our leaders are condemning Israel just to look good world wide. After reading a little, I doubt Israel is just being a bully.
  4. It's not about "aid." It's about propaganda to make the Israelis look like the aggressors. The flotilla was offered docking in both Israel and Egypt, and they refused. They didn't expect someone to video the ambush and post it on the Internet so fast. Too bad the truth got out, but you won't hear that on the MSM (Main Stream Media). Iran is stoking things because they want a reason to go to war with Israel. I agree with you. And when the truth gets out there, it is just a matter of time until it is covered up with another slanderous story. I read the story on CNN about the recordings and what one of the ships stating about promoting terrorism against Israel and USA. For those that care to read it, here it is. Gaza convoy tapes edited, Israel acknowledges By the CNN Wire Staff (CNN) -- Israel acknowledged Sunday that it edited recordings of what it said were anti-Semitic and anti-American radio calls by pro-Palestinian activists who tried to run the Gaza blockade and that it could not identify the origin of the broadcasts. The Israeli military released a 26-second recording Friday night in which a warning call to a ship in the flotilla was met with the reply of "Shut up -- go back to Auschwitz." After another voice reports that the convoy has the permission of Palestinian officials to dock in Gaza, a third voice responds, "We are helping Arabs going against the U.S. Don't forget 9/11, guys." But after the organizers of the aid convoy accused Israeli officials of manipulating the tapes, the Israel Defense Forces reported it had mistakenly identified one of the six ships in the activists' "Freedom Flotilla" as the source of the broadcasts. And it released a nearly six-minute recording of radio traffic that included those calls and several others, along with bursts of static and calls in other languages on the same channel. "So to clarify: The audio was edited down to cut out periods of silence over the radio as well as incomprehensible comments so as to make it easier for people to listen to the exchange," the Israeli military said in a statement posted on its Web site. And it added, "Due to an open channel, the specific ship or ships in the 'Freedom Flotilla' responding to the Israeli Navy could not be identified." Israeli commandos intercepted the convoy at sea on May 31 and stormed the largest vessel, the Turkish-flagged Mavi Marmara, killing nine people aboard. The ships were carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, the Palestinian territory that has been blockaded by Israel since its takeover by the Islamic movement Hamas in 2007, and the deadly raid sparked international condemnation. Convoy organizers from Free Gaza said Israel "doctored" the recordings "in order to paint the flotilla passengers as anti-Semites." The group denied its vessels were the source of the broadcasts and said the Israeli accusations made "no more sense with the explanation." "All radio transmissions on the sea are heard by all captains," the group said. "Once again, Israel is caught in a lie trying to defend itself for the murder and mayhem it committed the morning of May 31, 2010." On the full recording, an Israeli warship hails one of the vessels in the flotilla to warn it was approaching a blockade zone and warned that "all necessary measures" would be taken to prevent it from docking in Gaza. After three warnings, Free Gaza activist Huwaida Arraf replied that the blockade was a violation of international law and that the convoy was carrying only humanitarian aid. "We do not carry anything that constitutes a threat to your armed forces," she says on the recording.
  5. Yep. You're right, Yod. That should do the job all right . . . Anyone who's not already praying for Israel should start, I think. I'm not against Israel, but why won't they let Gaza have aid?
  6. I can't give you a scripture and I'm too lazy right now to look one up. Friends forgive each other when one slips up but that doesn't mean they don't discuss the problem. If you can't discuss a problem with somebody that you think is a friend then I wouldn't trust that friendship. Friends don't cheat each other, a friend won't ask of you some evil like, hey, let's go rob somebody. A friend looks at your best interest before his own. A friend won't flirt with your girlfriend or wife, a friend will pay you back when you let them borrow money, a friend is there even when he doesn't feel like it. a friend will have an open ear and will not repeat what you said to another. That doesn't mean a friend won't give his concern. Friend's are hard to come by these days. You think you have a friend sometimes, and find out it was just somebody there just for the moment or good time. friendship is best by being founded on the principles of Jesus Christ. what some folks don't understand is that the laws of God are not meant to be bad but good. Yes, we are bound to slip and fall. How many people suffer today because the laws of God are not kept? Sure, I agree that we must forgive, but look at earth today. It is spiraling out of control because man chooses the world and its ways rather than God and his Christ. Therefore it is sorrowful. same as a friendship. If you choose to reject the means to keep a friendship healthy, then it will fail. again, friends must be forgiving. If you can't forgive your friend, then why be friends?
  7. I know I'm wrong, but I have people I don't forgive. I try to forgive them, but my heart just grows colder as try. Maybe, one day I will. I don't think I'll ever trust them again.
  8. Let me make this clear. I find it no small thing when a child or teen is made a spectacle in school or anywhere else. It is horrifying to a young person and I find that type of emotional trauma just as bad as being murdered. It states in the bible hating a man without a cause is murder. If there are young folks out there going through it, I know how ya feel. I have been there and know exactly how important it is to be accepted. Christ suffered and was mocked. If you can't find peace in anything, find peace in Christ. I will pray for you.
  9. I was at a strange place when I was saved. I was on the death bed and dying. As a matter of fact I was so close to death, had I been a few minutes later to the hospital emergency room, I would have died. My nervous system was shutting down after I ate something poisonous. I had my entire wrongs in life flash before me and I knew I was dying and going to Hell. I then put my entire faith in Jesus and cried out to him. I said I was sorry, and please forgive me. I don't know if it was a hallucination, though I believe it wasn't, some have told me it was, I heard him say to me, don't be afraid. I felt the love of Christ and how he took a wretch, miserable sinner like me, who deserved death a 1000 times over, and would grant me eternal life. I felt complete love and peace. I knew I was dying, the only thing that I wanted to live for was I knew my parents and family would dearly miss me. I asked Christ if I could live, got no answer, and today I live. What happened I have no idea, but it was an experience I will never forget. I was so much at peace, I could have forgiven anything bad that happened to me in life. Why? Cause it didn't matter anymore, I was at peace. that was just something that happened in this life and i knew suffering was gone. The worst thing in life that happened to me couldn't compare to the love and peace I felt. For a long time i searched for that love and peace. The only thing I have found to come close is striving to live my life for the lord, who loved me first, my love was shameful, and reading the bible. I know nobody can be justified by works, put I put forth my entire energy in loving christ like he said what love was toward him, keeping his commandments.
  10. What is your definition of persecution? I have no idea what is or what isn't. I was reading a news story about a kid who asked classmates if anyone believed in God and this little girl raised her hand and said I do, then he shot her. That was a sad story. I suppose being made fun of for what you believe is nothing compared to that horror. I have seen things about places all of the world about how people have been tortured or brutally murdered for Christ. I would call that persecution for sure. Rwanda was one of them. It is sad people mistreat people like that.
  11. Is that persecution though? It is a form of persecution i.m.o.. There are young teens committing suicide or even celebs committing suicide because of how the press or perhaps peers ridicule them. Look at that young girl who sadly ended her life because a girl's mom impersonated a young man that she liked and made a joke of her, or perhaps some celeb who gets something he did wrong put on the front page of a magazine and then gets ridiculed by the public. Look at Chris Brown, what he did to Rhianna was wrong, but he was sentenced and given punishment, yet there are still people, because of the press exploiting things, which some things should be considered an outrage because somethings just belong in secret like somebody's marital matters, that say he should be burned at the stake. I have just come to a conclusion. please God not people. I am tired of trying to live for this world. People want to get patted on the back when they make fun of somebody, they think it makes them look worthy of some form of acceptance. I pray for these people, because they are blind. They can't accept that one should live in truth for Christ, and love their brethren as themselves. not to get out here and ridicule or persecute somebody because of what they believe or a mistake they have made. We all have made mistakes, just some get caught and pay the price for them, and no, that doesn't justify a mistake. wrong is wrong, no way of making wrong right. we should look for a way in Christ to handle these mistakes and those that others make. That doesn't mean somebody doesn't need to be locked up for a crime, but we should try to reach the people in jails and prisons for christ too. and some are doing that. they are visiting those in prison and God Bless them.
  12. I haven't heard of it. I don't read a lot of christian books because I want to understand the bible myself, not what somebody else says about it. Although, there are some good Christian reads out there. Especially by Franklin Graham.
  13. Not threatened, just ridiculed, laughed at, mocked, etc. Maybe that's not persecution? Is persecution an actual threat? To be ridiculed laughed at mocked poked fun of, that is kind of a bit too far in politely speaking one's mind.
  14. I am ready. I have already been persecuted. I take the persecution, knowing that God will reward me in the end. your life has been threatened because you follow Christ?? I have been attacked online because I stated I have faith in Christ. I have been in born again chats with folks coming into criticize christians and jeer them because of their beliefs, and proclaim that christianity was the reason mankind was so messed up. and I have even seen people criticize the jews, who from what I have read try to negotiate with the palastinians, and glorify the refusal the palastinians have made and the killing of Jews. all that may be true, but can we really call that persecution. afterall, the OP talks about people's lives being in danger. the only threat to us is our pride, because that is what's actually threatened when you are ridiculed for your beliefs. Yeah, I suppose a man is entitled to his beliefs. I just lose sight of that after being put down or my God being put down. A man shouldn't enforce his beliefs on another cause I'm not perfect and it is a free country to express ones opinion. Sometimes it does, but I shouldn't let it bother me. but I guess it is right in saying, be angry but sin not. I shouldn't go out here beating some innocent person up just because I'm angry. I shouldn't beat somebody up just because they don't believe what I believe.
