  1. But, God the Father chose the cross as the manner the Son would be our Sacrifice and He will bear the marks of that crucifixion for eternity. There can be no denying the cross. Man did not choose the cross. God did. Should I be honoured? No, but remembered as the way Jesus paid for man’s sin? Yes..especially MY sins. So, as the author of another song says,” I will glory in the cross.”. Some look at the cross as a hideous thing… no, Jesus agreed to bear my sins there..is it to be held in esteem rather than the One who willingly paid with His life? Absolutely Not.
  2. The thing we as humans forget in a time of emotional stress is that God sees not just today’s circumstance but He sees the future at the same time. Our eyes can be so blinded by our emotion we see only what we want to see. He sees the other person unfiltered and has a better plan for us… one for mutual good. Sit back and rest in God. You may see only what you want to see in this person. Trust God and wait for Him to show you what He sees and has planned.
  3. In Job's time, as amazing as it sounds, God put a hedge around Job because of his righteousness in following every aspect of "the law". Satan knew this. But God because of His "foreknowledge" knew that Job would not deny Him nor curse Him. This is the aspect that shows us that Satan cannot touch one of the born-again believers without God's permission and should be a great comfort to us. As God permitted it, He also blessed because of it and increased what Job lost because of the trial he went through yet remained faithful to God.
  4. Nowhere in that scripture does it say that God “causes” all things. He may permit things to happen but not cause.
  5. When the temple was built in the wilderness, God told Moses how and what to make.. a duplicates of what the temple in heaven is like and has even to the golden cherubim. The cherubs surround God’s throne. God needs “no” mediator in heaven… He took care of Satan’s prideful disrespect all by Himself.. God is not man that He needs a mediator to deal with prideful angels.
  6. Hold on.. Satan came before God. God was remarking about Job’s righteousness. That was when Satan “asked permission” to tempt Job. God, knowing Job, gave it.
  7. But Lucifer was a created being… where in the Bible do you see Lucifer as a mediator! Nowhere does it say what you describe about Lucifer.. read Ezekiel 28. In addition, Jesus was our Mediator from before the earth was formed. There was no mediator needed in heaven for the angels. Also the Ark of the Covenant in heaven is identical to the one that the Jews had in their temple.
  8. Where do you see Lucifer as mediator? He was part of the morning stars who sang in heaven…he was created with timbrels and pipes to possibly lead the singing. Pipes are like flutes and timbrel is like a tambourine. Job 38. He was a cherub who was near the throne singing or leading the heavenly choir. He was most beautiful and adorned with all the gems. But mediator?
  9. If offended on a forum... walk away log off or on a new topic and do not respond... end it. If someone in person offends you, smile, walk away and ask God to forgive them and do not let the enemy's fiery darts continue to get you. Easy to say but forgiving is the best.. as Jesus said.
  10. But it was oil they needed… not flame.
  11. Forgiveness is for our mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. To hold a grudge harms us. Sin is Christ’s to forgive.
  12. There is a difference between the Book of Life and the Lamb’s Book of Life.
  13. No I do not. what I mean is that one without an unbeliever without a tattoo can set a better example than a christian with a tattoo trying to be like the world.
  14. Are we to be separated from the world yet in the world or be part of the world as the heathen are ... especially now when there are fewer going to church than ever before? How can a non believer tell the difference? Sometimes the non believer shines better than the believer in their walk and appearance. Just because times change it does not mean that God changes
  15. I gave the Biblical statement on marking/tattoos of the body and have no other opinions currently that differ. Personally I do not find that a Biblical to scriptural tattoo would influence me so cannot see the value of any tattoo unless it is to be part of the 'trend'. I personally find them unattractive and prefer the body given by my HeavenlyFather as the most attractive.
  16. So does that mean that the words of God, "I am the Lord, I do not change." cease with the Old Testament for us just because they were said to the Israelites? I do not believe so. However, everyone will answer for themselves with what they have or have not done with God's word and admonishments.
  17. Repeatedly in the OT, God says to the Israelites, "I am the Lord, I do not change." Our views, styles, attitudes change with the wind but God and His Word does not change. We like the Israelites of old adopt pagan styles, thoughts, words, foods etc. Does it make it right in God's eyes? Does He ever say, "They need to be like the world to attract more people to Me." or does He say, "Come out of her my people." Is it not the Father who draws non christians to Jesus or is it man and his tattoos that may make someone momentarily question what it means...
  18. Remember that Lucifer was a Cherub around the throne of God so he would have angelic knowledge but just as not even Jesus knows when the rapture will happen, not everything is known by the angels. He also is very familiar with the Bible…. Never underestimate our enemy and he still has access to the Father regarding us…. A sobering thought.
  19. For me personally, if I was not born again, I would not be swayed by christians imitating unbelievers so that they could have an influence on me. I may ask what it means or why they have it but sway me? And never forget that it is God the Father who 'draws' the person to Jesus, not man...and can He go against what He told the Hebrews what not to do? Just a thought...
  20. I recall a student telling us he had a new piercing in addition to the others and one on the tongue (we did not want to see the others). It was in the upper part of the ear to which we cringed because that could leave the top portion drooping. His comment was ' how much he liked the crunching sound made by the piercing'. So there must be some perverse pleasure in self harm because it would not enhance the appearance.
  21. We are told to carry on with life but be ready at any moment for our Lord's coming. We are also told that, "As it was in the days of Lot." so will the coming of the Son of man be, yet think we are not there yet as I read it and that is serious food for thought. So we make certain that the Word is spread to all corners of the earth, be faithful, look up and not be discouraged with what is happening around us.... sometimes easier said than done, sadly. (Luke 17:18-37)
  22. You are comparing Paul to Job and the that is not correct. Job was under the Law and if he followed all the laws and sacrifices and was obedient in al that was commanded of him by God, God saw him as righteous. How can you dispute who God judges as righteous? Paul was under Grace. You cannot equate the two.
  23. Yes under the law but then the Ten Commandments which are under the law fit also. They then do not now apply to us?
  24. Obscurantist- a person who deliberately prevents the facts or full details of something from becoming known How does this fit what some of us have said regarding tattoos? In the Bible if God says it, it is generally for the good of the people or God would not have said it. That statement re the cutting or marking is what was done by the ungodly and God did not want His chosen to do. Was He being an obscurantist?
  25. Perhaps I am looking at this differently than the majority of you. When looking at the Bible, we find that there is no contradiction in the Word whether OT or NT. God's word is established and as He said, “I am the Lord, I do not change.” Yet, there are so many times even we as Christians do what God says not to do. We rationalize until we talk ourselves into okaying what is not for us. Why are we so…? Other times when it suits us we say, “God said it, that settles it for me.”
