  1. Thanks for all the replies. I believe that because God revealed Himself as Father there is no argument. Women for many years were and still are, often regarded as second class citizens, chattels etc. and therefore the rise of feminism in shaking off the supression has brought about this desire to prove that women through feminism have a definite place in God. I see my wife being my equal in the Kingdom of God, we just have different functions. I have no problem in seeing myself as part of the Bride of Christ and that He is my Husband, with all the requisite benefits I draw from that position. Equally my wife has no problem with seeing herself as a son of God and all the requisite benefits that comes from that. Both positions give the believer so very, very much. In heaven there will be no marriage but I believe that my wife and I will be together forever and that we will find no division between us (other than that she will probably have greater rewards in the millenium.)We, both men and women have lost so much, we have continued in division instead of knowing that different functions do notmean diminution of position. Please keep the replies coming about Asherah and eschatology. God bless you all Steve
  2. Hello my name is Steve, I live in England just outside London, been saved for a little over 25 years and pastor a small fellowship in my home. I've found over the years that satan's deceptions are regurgitated from previous generations and that all he does is change the outer layer to conform with present day fashion, mores, culture etc. I've recently seen a video presentation on Youtube by a lady called Monica Dennington. Her basic outline is that God is or has a feminine side and we can call Him mother etc. etc. For me this is nothing more than regurgitating the Asherah worship seen throughout the Old Testament. I am interested in any observations on these connections and any others that Brothers and Sisiters in Christ might have. I know about the pull of the Roman church to declare Mary as Co-Redeemer and about another esoteric bunch seeing Mary Magdelene as Co-Messiah. What I'm interested in, is how others may see how this links in with eschaotology. Iam a Pretrib Millenialist, so you know where I'm coming from. God bless you all Steve
