  1. I think we - if we want the kind of New Testament Christian experience you spoke of - need to pray for another renewal of the Spirit across our country and in the world. There was such a renewal in the 1960s and 70s (and at different times before then also) but there were Christian communities then, in An Arbor, Michigan, and South Bend, Indiana, to name a couple. Maybe it's time for another renewal... Bless you, Carlos, you've grown and learned amazing things! And you are right that miracles do happen when we give ourselves to Him completely!
  2. Very beautiful and uplifting! Thank you!
  3. I agree; most of all that is what I am thankful for.
  4. My husband and I use Airbourne and it does seem to help. If taken when you have the cold already, it seems to make it go away a lot sooner. About the ginger, I wonder if eating the sweetened Japanese sushi ginger would be as effective... Jeff, I will pray for you to feel better soon!

I think Joe means that the Holy Spirit is the authority..
  6. Here's what the Denver Post Online has to say: http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_18958736?utm_medium=facebook
  7. I'm near Denver.. I think these exercises have been done here before so it may not scare anyone. I'll look to read about it in the news
  8. When I was a part of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal I went to prayer meetings where many (including myself, but not my husband) spoke in tongues. Often one person would be inspired to speak out in an unknown tongue and another person would be given the translation and it was a message from the Lord. Often too, though, the whole group (those that had the gift anyway) would all speak out together and it would have seemed like gibberish/babbling. To me it was pure worship and just beautiful singing like of the angels around the throne - ! I confess I liked it very much. We believe/ed that tongues was a gift given to many but not all and that it was really a lesser gift, mostly to edify the individual. We were taught that one was saved first and believed in the Lord and then later when they dedicated themselves to Him they were prayed for with the laying on of hands to receive the Holy Spirit which would empower them for their Christian lives ahead. Experienced individuals gave 'Life in the Spirit' seminars to those newly filled with the Holy Spirit to instruct them in what to expect and how to live. ( Personally I think that being saved and spirit-filled are experiences that can/will be tailored to the individual; He knows the needs of each of us). All this was in the 70s. I have beautiful memories of those years but surely things have changed. My .02
  9. Benny, what a great story!! I'm moved! I'm also the world's worst witness for our Lord. Please pray for me that I get better at it.
  10. Bless you for staying strong and praising Him through adversity. Many wouldn't be able to. I do believe that ultimately wellness is God's will for us; is a special wellness center an option for you? If so, I would do it.
  11. A lot of John Michael Talbot CDs are available here: http://www.troubadourforthelord.net/category.sc;jsessionid=0D0F30682EE05CA25CDE43148B610D3F.qscstrfrnt02?categoryId=5 He is also on Facebook and writes some inspirational posts. The songs that have influenced me are way way too many to number! Maranatha Music published some, The St.Louis Jesuits did some, the community in Ann Arbor Michigan (I wish theirs was available on CD, I've looked everywhere), JMT, Carey Landry, and on and on. I've spent a lot of time searching for my favorite songs and now have an ipod full :-) Music is very important to me!
