  1. first, before we postulate any question we must understand what we celebrate in such national holiday and what is the historical background behind such holiday and then what does the Lord tells us in His word in regards about being thankful and giving thanks....two things totally different. During the last supper our God and savior Jesus Christ..the bible tells us that Jesus look up and after braking up the bread He gave thanks!
  2. before I can offer you any thoughts regarding this issue; I must ask you this first....have you been saved by the blood of Jesus? and if so? are you HIs follower and His servant...Do you believe in His unerrant word and in His commandments? through much suffering I came to know my savior and only true God...Jesus the Christ and how wonderful it is to live in His will for me and to obey what He commands me and to do what is pleasing in His sight. You also can experience the same when you surrender yourself and your life totally to Him. then...only then you will experience genuine total joy that is not based on circumstances. May you seek Him eagerly and diligently in this matter and read His word and see what it tells you about doing such thing. Then when you read in His word what it tells; then do it!
  3. amen ...finally someone who is a believer in the an errand scriptures of the most High creator of everything. thank you friendduffthalorde. it seems not everybody here may abide or live or trust in them. Our savior did say that many would be deceived and gone astray from His word and follow what tickles their ears.
  4. amen frienduff so very well put..Holiness it is indeed for we are set apart....a royal priesthood for the Lord.
  5. well my dear if we claim to be believers and servants of the most high ....should we not believe and obey GOD's word...or do we just want to choose what suits our self serving life style...read the book of timothy for starters. and in addition, when I said...set us apart...it was not my opinion but the creator's and only true GOD Jesus Christ's words....I will let it for you to find that in the best book in the world....the bible.
  6. to take anything of the world and placing the Christian label on it....as to make it acceptable and agreeable as in rationalizing things we should not do or participate in. We as Christians are suppose to be set apart, not to be of the world. The Lord has set us apart for Himself. If we do, dress, speak and so on like the unbelievers do so how can we be set apart or even how can we set or be a testimony to a dark world.
  7. there is one solution to any problem not only in humanity but the problem of our sinful heart and despondency of it....Jesus Christ. I don't know if you know Him as your Savior but He is the only one who can mend brokenness, suffice joy in Him, bring peace in times of trouble, give guidance and counsel in times of uncertainty, hope when all seem hopeless, faith when there is no other place to seek, comfort when nothing else will do, love for He alone can give perfect unconditional love, joy for He says that His yoke is light....and in the end....there can only be victory in all circumstances in Him for He is our Victor! There is nothing we can do to change our circumstances; but our Savior can change how we can view those circumstance and how we respond to them. prayers for you my friend.
  8. let us not lose focus and purpose....Jesus....let be kind to one another forgiving one another just as Christ has also forgiven you. in addition, although we are called to obey the law of the land let us not to be concern about so many things....our savior is in control.
  9. God is concern about everything in your life for the simple reason that He loves you and He desires for nobody to perish but for all to come to repentance and have eternal life. He made you with a purpose in mind and a wonderful plan... homosexuality does not fit that purpose nor plan. He made love to be and be expressed between a man and a woman any other way is an abomination to Him. He loves you so much that even while in our transgressions He gave His life for us. My friend, if you are here seeking answers; you are in a wonderful position for it is our Lord who is knocking on your door....open the door to the Most High God of heaven and He alone shall give you answers and peace and eternal life and He shall also make you a new creature.
  10. Ron you are so right! we in many ways have gone astray from the essence of worshiping the true God and had chosen to worship the flesh and we had brought such thing in by the way we attend church, who and how we worship to placing too much emphasis on things that aren't really important. Even attending worship on Sundays can become a routine leaving our souls empty of His presence and full of wants and even doubts or confusion. The church itself can get so involved in so called activities and forgets about seeking and leading the soul in worship, adoration, and obedience to the triune God.
  11. spark, first of all if you are doubting so then you may not have been HIs to begin with. Furthermore, nobody is too broken for our Savior to fix, and God does not need you and there is nothing you can do or need to do to be worthy of Him... He has done it all! that is why when He died that terrible death He said: It is finished. In addition, you need not the approval of other Christians ... just look up to heaven and seek His face... go to Him just as you are with all you have... sins and sins and more sins and He will take you with open arms and cleanse you and pardon you and make you into a new creature. I did I brought all my sins and sins and I did nothings ... spark... for He already did it all all!! you will be in my prayers.
  12. no because you cant love anybody perfectly... the only One that can is Jesus and Jesus Love is perfect and it does not hurt but brings life.
