  1. LOL! you're funny. but i'm just not gonna bother posting anymore if people think i'm just going to be "bashing" them. plus i've said all i feel that i need to and no longer wish to argue and debate. i've done that enough in my life with family and i am not a fan of long, drawn-out drama. i dont' think this is the place for me. i just don't think i fit in, in too many places in life. I've always been a loner. Whether that's my fault or not, that's just how life seems to go for me. God bless you all.
  2. I don't want to accuse you of anything here, but you asked regarding using salt for protection: and you got answers. Many of these replies are from mature believers who have been here for years, and yet your replies seem somewhat defensive. If I'm off base, though, I'll apologize now. no worries. i'm pleased that this post has had this much discussion. it's interesting to read the responses from people and i don't mind people defending their own posts the way i have mine. everyone has their own opinion and belief about these things.
  3. Okay, I'll take everything everyone said to me with a grain of salt. Heh-Heh! Heh!....Grain of salt...See what I....did...there...? Ahhh forget it. AHEM! Let me address a few things here, folks! other one: If you are having demonic visits in your house, there is a reason. I never said it was demonic. LadyC: sounds like a form of witch craft to me. Typical. I've found that often when Christians don't understand something, they either fear it or label it as witchcraft. Love Songs: Here in the south if you find some salt near your door or near or inside your house. There is someone trying to cast a spell on you. Witches do use salt for that purpose. You can get the details on it from a pastor, or another christian that knows of this. They can help you. This is how I clean or rid any demons that may be around in my house.... This has nothing to do with witchcraft or witches. And again, I did not mention demons, did I? I do not put any faith in pastors. There are too many corrupt ones. And by suggesting another Christian, you are implying that my Faith is weak. Quite the contrary, Love Songs. My Faith is more solid and stronger than most Christians I've encountered. your friend Jacob: While this appears to be working, it's only a fluke. Very thin line to be walking to be honest. While your intentions are good, and you would do anything to comfort your child, you need to rely on the Lord. Funny. I didn't see you at my house. You haven't witnessed what's been going on in this house. So what makes you so sure this was a fluke? How can you try to explain something to me when I was the one who witnessed it? Also, what makes you think that I am NOT relying on the Lord? I rely on the Lord every day. He's proven to me countless times that He is there, protecting and providing for me and my family. Matthitjah: Grace to you, I'm not sure why your husband would revert to his days in the dark side to protect from the dark side. A kingdom divided will not stand and satan will not work to throw out satan. Whatever this was is likely playing games with you. I wouldn't mess with it like that. Why not merely plead the precious and powerful Blood of our Lord and Savior and cast out whatever was bothering the child? Afterall, every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. He has put to shame the principalities and spiritual powers that rule in dark and high places. He has defeated them and reigns over them. What makes you think that my husband is reverting to his days from the dark side? This has nothing to do with the dark side. You suggest casting out whatever was bothering the child. {{{{ Removed curse word. }}}} What do you think we did? We did just that - that's what we did. By putting the salt there, we provided a protective barrier around our child. No "spells", no crazy words or chants, or calling on anyone other than God to also help protect our child. What are you going to do if a person or a dog was going to attack you? Stand there and do nothing other than pray? No. I think you would pray and then either run or try to defend yourself. That's what we did. We prayed and also did our part to help protect our child. GoldenEagle: This seems like a form of witchcraft. I perceive this as another Christian who doesn't understand something so they just slap a "witchcraft" sticker on it. little brown church: I hadn’t heard of this till the question was posted, so did some looking into it. The superstitious and those into palm reading etc. . . use salt to keep evil away. The catholic church also believes in using salt to exercise demons and keep thieves and other evil away They use several scriptures to explain this, but these two scriptures appear to be the main reasons for the ritual. 2 kings 2:19 and another is on Matthew 5: 13. the salt is sprinkled around bedrooms and doors/windows. Oh please! i'm not superstitious nor am i into fortune telling, palm reading, etc. and please, don't get me started on catholics. they are not Christians. {{{{ Removed attack on Christians. We are a non-denominational ministry. }}}} OldShep: I recommend Trusting in Jesus, and watching your child she could be coming down with a cold. Again, not into the witchcraft thing, thank you very much. And no, she's not coming down with a cold. redroses42: the only way i use salt is on my food and in cooking very good, redroses. God created many things on this earth to use for the good. Tea leaves dried makes tea. Various herbs are for soothing and healing, and cleansing. Salt is also natural and can be used for protection. Fez: Honestly? And to be perfectly blunt? Using something like salt, or "holy water" informs me that there is a lack of faith in that Jesus is the only answer. If He had wanted us to sprinkle salt He would have told us. So my advice? Pray. What makes you think I don't pray to God every night for the protection of my family. And believe me, there is no lack of Faith in my Christian walk. I've been through more testings and trials in my walk with Christ than most Christians who are still taking baby steps in their lives. You think that if God wanted us to sprinkle salt, he would have told us. Not everything we know and do is listed in the Bible. {{{{ Removed disrespectful attack on the Bible. }}}} sevenseas: Casting spells or using some sort of barrier (there are quite a few) to keep witches away is not like having a bowl of chicken soup. First of all, there was no "spell casting" thank you very much!! and i said nothing about witches in my original post! What it is, is using magik and superstition...depending on the person invoking its protection through ceremony or belief....I agree there is no magic involved here, sevenseas. it's sprinkling of salt. what's so magical about that? it's just a natural defense. with those who state that prayer is the answer and I would admonish you to stop this practice immediately. I suffered badly from fear of the dark and things that go bump in the night when I was child...I believe it was hereditary and if, your husband has actually stopped his magik apart from the salt, it is most likely hereditary in your baby's case. hereditary! LOL i should think not, thank you. Why does the salt work? It works because you believe it will work. The problem is that it is an invitation from the devil to use more magik to get results. my Faith is strong in Jesus - the devil has absolutely no foothold in my life, believe me! You say the salt works only because I believe it will work. So when you sit in a chair, it's going to hold you because you believe it will. Gasp! That's not magic is it??!! LOL There is nothing complicated that you need to know. You simply need to use the word of God, the Bible, against this activity and your husband should also examine his own self and determine why he would invoke witchcraft if he is a Christian. My husband is not using witchcraft, thank you very much. there's nothing witchcraft about it. You have a two fold problem in your home...your baby is suffering and for some reason, a Christian has decided that a little magik is OK if the blood of Christ is not enough. using salt in this way is not magic. Your problem will get worse and your husband has opened a door that is better left shut. clearly, you don't know enough about opening and closing doors. and by the way, as i mentioned already. the salt worked. the problem is over. In the Old Testament, God banned the used of spells and incantations and forbid a witch a to live. It is a serious offense as it invokes demons in the place of the Holy Spirit. {{{{Removed Personal attack. }}}} There was no spells and incantations used here, thank you. I pray you realize what is really going on and either consult your pastor if you attend church or remove the salt and pray over your child and ask your husband to repent of his magik. people put way too much Faith in pastors. they're regular human beings like us and not any more godly than the next Christian. and don't insult me by saying that my husband needs to repent of his magic. this is not magic. I know this sounds a little harsh, but even the smallest dabbling in this sort of thing can result in problems that are far worse than any you are currently experiencing. your words leave a bitter taste in my mouth. Gerioke: I have a book of home remedies using salt and vinegar. I don't think it's a book of witchcraft though Thank you. God gave us many natural things that He created for us to use for our own good.
  4. so i have a 10 month old baby girl. the past couple of months she's been crying a lot at night and waking up in a cold sweat. i didn't know if it was her teeth bugging her or a cold coming on - i didn't put much thought into it, but it troubled my husband a little bit. on one particular night, our daughter was waking and crying nearly every hour, all night long. in the morning, my husband said he had a hunch and to trust him on this one. he sprinkled sea salt on the inside of her window sill and all around her crib on the floor. he thought that someone or something was bothering her. that night, for the first night in at least a couple of months, our daughter slept hard and long! she woke only one time for a quick feeding and was back to bed. i thought it might be a fluke thing so we waited to see what would happen the next night. again, the next night she slept soooo soundly! not one little peep aside from the one feeding. she also slept in and when she did wake up, it wasn't from crying hysterically and she wasn't sweating anymore. she woke up calmly and babbling quietly. my husband suffered as a child with "the dark side" bugging him, tormenting him as he slept and he did not have any help. it even made him turn to the dark side as a young person until Christ saved him later in life. this sprinkling of salt, in my opinion just serves as a protective barrier against forces we cannot see. it's like chicken soup when you have a cold. i am thankful that my husband thought to do this and that it worked for our daughter. we are all sleeping peacefully now. she did not have to suffer long with whatever or whoever was bothering her. has anyone ever done this? what do you think of this? i would not be surprised to have replies from people on both sides of the fence. ~ fairmaiden
  5. i have strange dreams all the time. i can remember dreams i've had from way back when i was just a little child. i love dreaming because of the places i go, the people i meet, things i experience. there are several that stand out for me. i've even kept a "dream journal" - merely for my own "amusement" because they are like stories i can read over again. however, shortly after i re-committed my life to the Lord, i did receive a couple of visions - they are different than dreams. those were very interesting!! i understood myself what they meant - which made having them even more wonderous and exciting!
  6. we have 3 female cats, and it would cost us at least $1500 to have them all spayed. we just don't feel like spending that kind of money on our cats. they're in good health otherwise and don't cause problems if one can put up with a week here and there for meowing because they're in heat. (well, thankfully only one of the three is ever noisy in heat). i don't know how much i'd spend on our cats if they were sick or injured, but i don't think it would be much over a thousand either....i'd rather put it down and out of its misery if it was life threatening....
