Many liberal churches only believe that the Bible CONTAINS God's word. They don't believe the Bible IS the word of God.

Christ living in Paul made him the man he was. Yet I have to agree that without God's grace he would have still been persecuting Christians.

I only got 100% on Quaker and I'm not even a pacifist! Not very accurate here. I fit best in Calvary Chapel as far a beliefs are concerned.

Some say the Bible CONTAINS the word of God. Then they pick and choose which things are of God. My friend doesn't believe what Paul said or what Jesus said, but she likes Peter. Some say the Bible IS the word of God and find that God speaks to us through it today. That is where I live.

Bad to good or lost to saved
Willa replied to growinginJesus's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
That is what my pastor says; however, God has changed the things he wants to do so that they conform to what God wants him to do. His new heart desires to follow Christ and glorify God. He hates that things his old man did and has no desire to do them and reap the consequences of sin. People who do not have a new nature in Christ are perhaps not born again. They are not genuine Christians. People who call themselves Christian but continue to do evil things should be avoided according to Scripture. -
The first Bible I read was the Amplified NT, which was wonderful for me because I love word studies. I currently use NKJV, but often refer to the ESV because of the excellent way in which they translate the present progressive like tenses. It is easier for me to read Tyndale then KJV.

Salvation of unbeliever with Alzheimers or dementia

I brought my Boston terrier to visit and nursing home one time. A lady that hadn't spoken in several years suddenly started talking about her Boston that she once had. Times like these are moments that we can use to speak to them, such as how God loves her even more than her dog did. -
We have a college and career group.

Are the street preachers doing the 'good works' ?
Willa replied to R. Hartono's topic in General Discussion
I have only known one person who said he needed to hear about hellfire and damnation. He was a preachers kid who was backslidden. Apparently the message didn't help him. He isn't serving God today the last I heard. I still pray for him. -
The problem my son faces is that the kids download games that contain viruses and wreck the computers. Be sure and make it clear that you need to download any games and scan them.

You cannot trust a god that is not good. Salvation is by trusting in and relying on God who is both good and faithful, and who cannot lie. He is love.

Thank You.

For a while I had to pray about my attitude when I went to church. The worship leader couldn't sing on key. The sermons are excellent. Often its is our own attitudes that are offensive to God and we need to humble ourselves and love people, whether they are lovable or not, and accept them with all their faults.

This is what I call worship music!

Once when the Jws came and asked what one thing I would wish for for the world, I told them for everyone would be filled with the Holy Spirit of God. She said she supposed that would solve everything; but she returned the next week with a hardened old biddy who did her best to be obnoxious so I would ask her to leave so she would get a brownie button. I had to pick up my son from school and did ask her to leave. Rats!

We sing this in worship at church. Love it

Believe means to trust in and rely upon. It is putting your whole self in His hands. Believing that He is the Christ/Messiah is believing that He is God in human flesh as was prophesied. Asking Him to be your Lord and Master is asking to serve Him and be his slave. All of this is meant when we ask Him to be our Lord and Savior.

If what you are saying is true, Christ would have to die again for our sins at the end of the age. NO! No second chances to be good enough to go to heaven. It is done. It is paid for, once for all time. When we first repented we turned away from our sin and accepted Christ's sacrafice as payment for our sin. Should we sin again to our shame, we simply confess our sins as in 1 John 1, and again receive his sacrifice as payment for out sin. One sacrifice for all time. After we first repented, we never have to start over again. Our sins are forgiven and we only have to accept His forgiveness again. Heb 10:12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, Heb 10:13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. Heb 10:14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. Heb 10:15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, Heb 10:16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,"Heb 10:17 then he adds, "I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more." Heb 10:18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

Husband claims to have the Priesthood

1Pe 3:1 NKJV Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, Give him the respect to not try to teach him or correct him. That is God's job. Yours is to quietly love and honor him as your husband, respecting his authority except where it contradicts Scripture. Jesus is your Lord and Master. Accept your husbandas he is. God does, and He will eventually clean him up. Just put him in God's hands and leave him there. Meanwhile, try to enjoy him. Something attracted you to him in the beginning. However, I am not advocating that you be a doormat. -
One day in 1965 hubby came home mid day with the tiniest of kittens riding on his shoulder. She had been weened too early and was dodging tires in the parking lot of hubby's place of business. He brought this scraggly stray home. We had a 6 month old tom cat named Spooky and a neighbor had a mama cat named Stinky. Between the two of them they taught Angel how to wash herself. She remained a thief, was not easily trained to stay off our counters, and never weighed over 7 pounds. The neighbor's manx became the papa of her 4 kittens which she dutifully fed grasshoppers. She would trim off the legs which she left on the floor of the spare bedroom. We found a home for all kittens. One was so loving he would follow me around the house meowing till I sat down so he could occupy my lap and rub on me while purring. He went to a home of 3 grade school girls on a farm. They would dress him up in doll clothes and put him in a buggy and he love it!!!

Husband claims to have the Priesthood

1Pe 3:1 AMP IN LIKE manner, you married women, be submissive to your own husbands [subordinate yourselves as being secondary to and dependent on them, and adapt yourselves to them], so that even if any do not obey the Word [of God], they may be won over not by discussion but by the [godly] lives of their wives, 1Pe 3:2 When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your reverence [for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him—to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband]. 1Pe 3:7 In the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with an intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honoring the woman as [physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God's unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. [Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.] Eph 5:23 For the husband is head of the wife as Christ is the Head of the church, Himself the Savior of [His] body. Eph 5:24 As the church is subject to Christ, so let wives also be subject in everything to their husbands. Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, Eph 5:26 So that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word, Eph 5:26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, Having lived with an unsaved husband, I have to advise you honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband]. You must will and determine to obey the word in this whether you feel like it or not. And you must determine to forgive him and ask God to help you to see his need as God does and have compassion for him. My husband was as abusive as yours, tore up my bibles and hated every church and pastor I had ever attended. As far as your going to church, you need that or a small group Bible Study for the support you during this time. But you also need to be praying for his salvation day and night. People will always let us down. God never does. I have to admit that the more I prayed for my hubby, the more God changed me to be the wife he needed. Meanwhile He started setting the scene for hubby's salvation. It was four more years before he was saved. He did become the priest in our home, leading us in prayer and devotions, praying daily for our sons and taking us to church. We were married for 54 years. -
Gal 2:20 NKJV I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
