  1. LOVE YOU MY DEAR KWIKIE.   Praying for God.s wisdom, peace, joy which is your strength, patience in trials.  God will provide. Remember the Ram caught in the thicket that spared Isaac?  God always provides the godly way out.  Man's way only makes the thorn in your side, Ishmael.   Hang tough!

  2. You need but one Godly person praying.

Jas 5:16  ESV  Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Jas 5:17  Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.

Jas 5:18  Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

    @Willa let's here a school bus story!

Another one concerned my driver.  Summer drivers often take kids to special camps in the mountains.  On this trip it was incredibly hot and of course we don't have air conditioning on public school busses.  A large waste can was positioned near the driver for the inevitable candy wrappers and chip bags.  Inevitably, one of the students in the back of the but got car sick and started running toward the can, vomiting all the way.  This caused a chain reaction of others getting sick.  Students and staff alike started hanging their heads out the windows for fresh air.  However, rules prohibit this for safety sake, so the drive made the offenders close their windows.  This only the compounded the problem, a very hot and horribly smelling bus, making even more people sick.

This story was handed down for decades illustrating when it is best not to enforce some rules.

I hear conventional means don't get rid of red ants.

OK, one that is not xxx rated.  A blind girl asked me what a shadow is.  I told her that the sun makes a warm light that shines on us and makes us hot in the summer.  When a house or a tree gets in front of the sun it makes a hole in the light that is cooler.  That hole is called a shadow.   Well, it seemed to satisfy her.  She was in the second grade.

I had an aunt that had a sewer rat come up into their toilet while she was sitting doing her business...  you should hear husband telling of the commotion that resulted.  To make it worse the thing got scared of her rant and went back down......  and it is still down there in her mind.

My cousin has a very exclusive home in the Sacramento valley.  When we visited she warned us to inspect the toilet for rats before sitting.

  6.  White processed food like white bread, white rice and pasta, all equal sugar to your body.  So eat whole grains and lots of fiber.  It helps to keep you feeling full as well.  Hi fiber veggies are great:  Squash, dry beans and frozen peas especially.  I lost so much weight eating that with lean proteins and a piece of fresh fruit.  Need to get back into the habit.

Also, eat the full amount of calories that most newer healthy diets allow.  They once told us to eat 1200 calories, which I could never lose on.  I now lose on 1600 or more calories!

I am scarfing a cup of the good stuff as we speak. I am adding chest hair a little at a time. Almost isn't any more room.

If it puts hair on your chest it's the good stuff.  If it looks like brown concrete mix powder and mixes cold with water, that's the stuff that will seriously mess with your innards. Right?

Pardon me sir!  No hairs on my chest, if you please. :foot-stomp: I currently use a full city well balanced medium roast.  It is bold, rich and full bodied. Spendy but oh so good.  Not bitter at all but very strong.  It's a good wake up call.

  8. Plain old black coffee is what I prefer.  However, had to switch to decaf due to heart problems. Once in a while I succumb to a cup of the hard (caffeinated) stuff, especially on a really cold day when my hands are icy.  I loath sweet coffee of any kind or cream in it.  So it has to be a good grade of coffee beans to begin with.  Picky picky.

  9. Check and see if the speaker is dressed in animal skins.  They are the first blood sacrifice to cover sin that God provided for them to wear that is mentioned in the Bible.  If they are not clothed in leather you should might point out to them that they are not dressed in the clothing that God first provided for Adam and Eve either.  Not that their theory is worthy anything to begin with.  We are neither under the law nor under such man made traditions as they have concocted.

Gen 3:21  Yahweh God made garments of animal skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them.

  10. The root of my unforgiveness (which caused my bitterness) was my self righteousness.  God pointed those same Scriptures at me that I had pointed at others; this revealed my own hatred and self righteousness to me. This brought me to true repentance, seeing myself in all my ugliness.  God also used this to show me the height and depth of His love.  If He can love those horrible people, perhaps He could love me as well.   He died for us all.  In receiving His loving forgiveness for myself and being refilled with His Spirit, He enabled me to extend that grace to those I had once only held bitterness against.

  11. My pastor of a Disciples of Christ (Christian) Church was a Freemason.  I wanted to be baptized so my mom talked me into having that done in a Christian Church because they immerse.  However that meant that I joined this particular church.  Later I learned that the pastor was a Mason and did not believe in the Trinity because that word is not in the Bible.  However, he didn't teach the concept of the Trinity either.  I did leave that church as soon as I left home.

I possess one of the Mason's secret books and have read others that were very high level.  They were extremely  mystical, stating that they shouldn't reveal everything to new Masons but only to higher degrees in the order.   It also stated that no one can understand the Bible.  In spite of this people must read the Bible as part of the requirement for induction into the order.  The Holy Spirit moves in strange ways because He used this to plant seeds of saving faith in my Dad.                                                                        Funerals of Masons reveal that they teach salvation by works and by achieving higher degrees in the order.  My info comes from Scottish Rite and Shriners.                                                               They allow people of all religions to join except for Mormons with which they share many similarities.                                                 So no, I would not join a church that accepted pastors to the pulpit that were members of Masonic orders.

if we are to become partakers of spiritual life and immortality we must eat the Bread of God, which is made up of -

Joh 6:57  As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.

Joh 6:58  This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever."

Joh 6:63  It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

As others have said, it is feeding on God's word that helps us to see Christ more clearly.  The Holy Spirit uses the words of Christ to infuse us with His life.  Through this route the living water of His Spirit then flows out to others.  We see God's dealings with Israel as well as Christ weeping over Jerusalem, that He would have gathered her to Himself like a mother hen gathers her chicks.  Such loving compassion for those who reject Him.

We behold Christ and are conformed to His likeness as we perceive God's heart.

Can't say I embrace any of the strategies.  I just think the human body is more beautiful without them. Used to paint and draw portraits.  My goal was to reveal the personality of the person in their expressions.  I diminished the clothing by making it more impressionistic as well so that the emphasis was on the nuances of skin tones rather than being distracted by the detail in clothing. The same applies to tats.  They to me are a distraction rather than an enhancement.  That is just my values and my way of seeing people.

And another thing, most everyone I know that has studied the matter thinks Jesus was born in September....     so why do I have to celebrate his birthday when it's 8º F outside.

My pastor still thinks it is around Dec. 25th and he has studied the whole shlemiel, star alignment, Herod's facts as well.  He has it a few years earlier but came back to Dec. as the date.

As far as the cold, we warmed from 3 degrees Fahrenheit to 20 due to freezing rain.  So celebrate, give thanks for Him and it will warm the cockles of you heart!
