  1. Good thing that God looks to the heart heh? Yeah um... be careful what you wish for, it works detrimentally the opposite way too. I mean, people will see a beautiful woman (not saying this is me), and then they assume she must have no brains whatsoever. People are going to be people. And they will always be judging us. I got two totally opposing judgements from two separate people, in relation to same thing about me, in the same day. Both opinions are nether here nor there. God loves you. He sees the intelligence and beauty in you. Don't waste two seconds thought on what others say or think. Maybe God wants you to be a mirror to certain people to show them that they are judgemental and superficial. Just my opinion. God bless you.
  2. Keep the focus on Him rather than on yourself, your body, your food, your family, the family problems etc. etc. God has so much love and peace to give to those who draw near to Him. Spend time with him regularly in prayer, and ask him for help. And finally, trust in his love.
  3. Thanks for sharing Nitish, great lesson in that.
  4. I want to have the character of Jesus.
  5. I really liked that. It describes how I feel much of the time. Thanks so much walla.
  6. Upsetting incident, ... yes. But in God's eyes, they are both at fault, the man for the insult, and the woman for lack of forgiveness. They both need to know the love of Jesus, and try to imitate him more.
  7. Why so afraid Biscuit? He is so gentle and lowly. (Matt. 11:29) What wrath do you speak of concerning Him? It is better to suffer the wrath of God than the mercy of man. For God's wrath is wrapped in love. It is useful for teaching, and rebuking. And refines a person so that they become more like Him. But the mercy of man is deceitful, always seeking to flatter, for its own gain. "The Lord is good" (Ps.34:8) All the time. Whatever happens.
  8. Thankyou for posting this song and the little story accompanying it. A great reminder of his love and the need for stuggles in this life. "We glory in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance, and perseverance, character; and character, hope." (Rom. 5:3-4)
  9. Standing up for Christ and his laws has never been easy, he promised that we would be persecuted for doing this. He also promised there would be a blessing to us if we were persecuted: "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness's sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matt. 5:10) Well done to the Priest, .... he shall have his reward.
  10. "Jesus is still the answer to overcome all of our stuggles in life." Amen
  11. I agree with your sentiments nebula. The basic message of Islam as written in their book, the Koran .... Kill alll infidels. That means kill all non-muslims. There are no exceptions to this. Even if an Islamic country has received help from the West, this prinicipal of Islam always reigns supreme. This is why they strap bombs to themselves and their little children in order to kill others. So sad.
  12. Firstly my sympathies are with you. Here are some things I have heard about this subject: 1. I heard it once said that resisting the sin keeps the focus still on the sin. It may be more effective to divert your thoughts at the time you feel inclined to sin. 2.The word of God is powerful, like a "two edged sword". Run to it and read it at the moment the thought of committing this sin enters your mind. If you are in a situation and do not have your Bible with you, commit to memory some verses that speak of God's power and authority and say them out loud when the idea to sin enters your mind. 3. God says to us "I am with you always." Think of him as the person Jesus standing in the same room as you when you are tempted to sin. Because you love him so much you will want to greet him and speak to him, and would be thoroughly embarassed and disgusted to go and do something in front of him that would hurt him. 4. Those who are serious about stopping a particular sin, go to great lengths to speak to others who have suffered from this same problem in order to get advice about how to conquer it. And then the person takes careful and calculated time and effort to remove all the temptations that lead to the committing of this sin. God helps them, that help themselves. Remember God looks to the heart. If a person cries out with their mouth for help, but in their heart they are relishing the sin, then there shall be no assistance coming from God, you can be sure of that. Trust in God. He is able to give you victory over this. Remember "sin begets sin". Don't go into despair over this. Lean on him at this time. He wants to be there for you and to help you with this. His desire to see you free from this bondage, is stonger than your own to be rid of it. I am praying for you.
  13. You are loved by God and by all people (inlcuidng me) whether your posts are read or responded to, or not. Try pointing the finger at Jesus. He is the one that deserves the attention and the glory. All praise be to him forevermore Amen. Thankyou God for being tortured and whipped with instruments that tore away your flesh with each strike. Thankyou for continuing to carry the cross when walking, even though your body was falling apart and you were being spat on and sworn at. Thankyou for taking those large twisted nails into your hands that pinned you (and my sin) to the cross, killing them both. Thankyou for loving me even though I am less than dust. You are awesome and glorious Oh Lord, ... and if I spent everyday of my life singing your praises it would never be enough to bring the glory to you, that you deserve.
  14. Some of HIS words for you: My son, give me your heart (Prov.23:26), I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10), I know the plans I have for you,.. plans to give you a future and a hope. (Jer. 29:11), I am always with you (Matt 28:20).
  15. My sympathies are with you, this is a very sad time for your family. It has occurred in mine also, but with more extended family so I did not feel the brunt of it as you do being in immediate relations with her. All I want to say is that when there are problems that really affect us (like this one), we are at our weekest point. This is the time when Satan comes in and puts doubts about your own faith in your head. "Come to me all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matt 11:28). When we believe Satan's lies and turn from God at times, we deny ourselves of his comfort and peace that he wants to give us. "Cast yours cares upon him, for he cares for you" (1Peter 5:7) What does this mean in everyday life? Lean on him. Pray often. Tell him your fears. Ask fo his help for your family and your job situation. Wait patiently and faithfully. I will pray also.
