  1. I know I'm a little bit late on this... and I'm probably not going to be much help.. I just wanted to throw in something that crossed my mind when I read your post *Zion*... When you said "she says: how can you love someone who will never ever love you back?" .. The first thing that rushed into my thoughts was .. Jesus... He loves many many people who will never ever love Him back... How does He do it?
  2. Thanks for all of your opinions guys. JTC to answer your question. No, I wasn't angry. It was a very calm conversation. She calmly made a comment and I calmly responded to it. melasthanatos, I like that answer. That would've been a much better answer. Also, to clear something up in case someone took it the wrong way,.. when I told her that I'm not dying anytime soon, it wasn't because of the future plans I was making for MYSELF, it was because I was basically saying, I still need to do what God put me on this earth to do before I die, and I haven't done it yet. So it was about HIS plans for my future. *Zion* I love your answer. To respond to your question. I haven't spoken to her in a while and she lives in a different state, so I'm not sure if she is a Christian. The only thing that I can think of is, you're either Christian or you're not. There is no in between. So if she is still the way she used to be, then I would say no, she is not a Christian. Although she said she prayed and read the bible, and every now and then go to church, she would still go out to bars and stuff with her friends. Thanks!
  3. I just wanted to get some opinions about something. I was talking to a friend of mine a while back, and I can't really remember exactly what the conversation was about, but it had something to do with future plans. Anyway, she ended up telling me that I could die today or tomorrow so I can't really make such future plans. I responded to her saying that I can really feel that there is something that God wants me to do for Him, something big!... and I haven't done it yet, so sorry, but I'm not dying anytime soon. So I just wanted to hear some opinions. Was my answer good? bad? Does it reveal my faith? Did it sound arrogant? foolish? I don't know... I feel right about it... Thanks!
  4. You're absolutely right... I mean I'd like to think that since those are "other" countries and America claims to be all about "freedom", that they wouldn't do it here, but... America is just as bad as they are... they're trying harder and harder to remove God away from this country.... and then they wonder why there's so much evil here..
  5. You all make very good points. The more I hear about the government taking away guns the more I think about the sheep being led to the slaughter. So my question is... would the government really do that to their people? I'm starting to think they would so they can try to control us and make us do whatever they want, and possibly threaten to kill us... The bible does say that things will get really bad when we're close to the end.
  6. So as long as it only makes some, but not all believers stumble, it's ok? If someone says "one drink won't get me drunk" or "two drinks won't get me drunk" or "one more won't get me drunk".... why would he try to get as close to the edge as possible? Why not RUN AWAY from it instead? Run away from sin, run away from "almost" getting drunk, run away from "almost" getting buzzed or tipsy, which would most likely lead to getting drunk. Instead of trying to find ways to get as close as possible to falling, just stay away from it completely.
  7. I don't think Christians should smoke weed/cigarettes or drink alcohol. If I have an entire conversation with a guy about our Savior Jesus Christ and about living our lives serving the Lord... and then he watches me walk over to take a seat and light up a joint or pop open a beer, he's not going to care about anything I said about God. He won't take me serious anymore. He would probably just label me as a pot head or a drunk and most likely be discouraged. So why do something that will cause my brother to stumble?
