  1. What I wonder is how to possibly tackle prayer for all of these. I can pray God please fix the world, God please protect my children in this world, but it seems to feel vague to me. Most of us have family problems in one way or another bearing down on us that we need to pray over. I have so many family problems I dont know how to pray genuinely for all of them, it seems like I'm asking too much. Then once you look outside of your family problems, the world is much worse. So that's my question, how can one person possibly pray with all your heart for all of these jaded lives and practices in the world? It is overwhelming for me.
  2. then why don't you state plain and simple what you conclude, no references, just plain and simple? if you dont believe there are any original manuscripts then what bible do you use or none?
  3. The proverbs 31 woman, I feel that wasn't a day in her life, but her life. I like the above description of her being industrious etc...Also look at Debra the prophet. She sat under a tree and people came to her to hear the Lord. Then there's Ruth who went after her man, he didn't pick her, she made the first move. When Abigail was married to a jerk husband who didn't want to help David, she went to help anyway. I often wonder if her husband knew that or reprimanded her for it, but we do find out he was killed a little later. Then there's Rahab, and Mary Magdalene. God would've killed Moses on the way to Egypt if it hadnt been for his wide and what she did. Women in the bible are not frail fainting on the couch women, problem is society we live in now has cinderella syndrome. Lots of girls expect to be pampered princesses and when they run into biblical women, they call us maids or cant figure us out. How we're happy in our position. Most haven't read the bible. If they did they wouldn't view biblical women as doormats. I agree with sevenseas up there, women can carry a heavy load(emotionally, mentally) and we are amazing multi-taskers. I'm proud to be a woman, and a biblical one.
  4. he is actually on another forum and I believe is saying from this same thread on other forum that KJV is the one and only.
  5. Can you be Christian and pro-adultery? No, one cannot be Christian and pro-gay, because homosexuality is a sin, and there is no way to make it a non-sin. Instituting gay marriage in America will undefine marriage, and turn it into a meaningless farce. The reason that the government is involved in regulating marriage at all is because of children. A same-sex union is unable to propagate and produce a child. Therefore, just as they want to be able to be married to legitimize a counterfeit relationship, they want to be able to adopt children or have them through surrogates or other means to lend further "fulfillment" to the relationship. And it means that the children's views of parent-ship will be frayed and disjointed. Studies have shown, overwhelmingly that children need both a mother and a father to turn out well. Gay marriage with children involved means this gets side-stepped. But we know that adultery is a sin because it destroys the family. Homosexuality does not. And we know that in this age. Back then, the Israelites did not know that. And marriage will not be undefined, as it can not be defined in the first place. Besides, marriage was first used to gain land and alliances back in ancient times. It wasn't really much of a union. And so what if gay marriage becomes legal? It won't harm the United States. Look at countries in Europe that have already leagalized it. Countries like the Netherlands, Sweeden and Spain (and I think Switzerland has also legalized it, but I don't know). Those countries aren't falling apart. And what about the children who come home to a father who is beating his wife? Sometimes kids do good with both parents, one parent, or two parents that happen to be gay. In the netherlands it has destroyed marriage. What's happened there is less people geting married, instead they have sex and then get pregnant and go on their merry way to the next partner. I will find some statistics and when I do post.
  6. You want to know why I think a lot of divorces happen? Feminism. I'm sorry but I feel like the whole movement has broken the family system doooowwn. Men and women dont know their roles in a family anymore. Women now also know they can get divorced and take the kids and get paid big bucks in child support and they ge tthe reigns. If you want to stop divorce, start with the courts, children should be shared custody, unless the other person doesnt want shared, or the divorcer can prove the other person is abusive and shouldnt have the kids. With shared custody, correct me if I'm wrong, there isn't child support paid. There is too much incentive today for women to change their mind and bail. I do believe men choose to get divorced too and screw up, but the majority of women I know from school or from wherever who are divorced or split from their baby's fathers, they picked it and they are getting paid. I read on the internet that the feminist movement was funded by bankers(conspiracy red flag here) to 1) get women working so they'd have more income to tax, 2) break down the family system so that the govt would become the family. So now you can see just this thing happening, single moms out there working away from home because they have too, and relying on the govt to cover the rest, single dads out their relying on the govt because they cant make ends meet because of all the child support they're shelling out. And kids growing up in broken homes with parents MIA.
  7. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. ...1 corinth 7 Sex between married people is welcome, do not deprive one another. I recently listened to mere christianity by request on here, and loved the book, and i love how he puts our sex sickness today: You can get a large audience together for a strip-tease act—that is, to watch a girl undress on the stage. Now suppose you came to a country where you could fill a theatre by simply bringing a covered plate on to the stage and then slowly lifting the cover so as to let every one see, just before the lights went out, that it contained a mutton chop or a bit of bacon, would you not think that in that country something had gone wrong with the appetite for food? And would not anyone who had grown up in a different world think there was something equally queer about the state of the sex instinct among us? One critic said that if he found a country in which such striptease acts with food were popular, he would conclude that the people of that country were starving. He meant, of course, to imply that such things as the strip-tease act resulted not from sexual corruption but from sexual starvation. I agree with him that if, in some strange land, we found that similar acts with mutton chops were popular, one of the possible explanations which would occur to me would be famine. But the next step would be to test our hypothesis by finding out whether, in fact, much or little food was being consumed in that country. If the evidence showed that a good deal was being eaten, then of course we should have to abandon the hypothesis of starvation and try to think of another one. In the same way, before accepting sexual starvation as the cause of the strip-tease, we should have to look for evidence that there is in fact more sexual abstinence in our age than in those ages when things like the strip-tease were unknown. But surely there is no such evidence. Contraceptives have made sexual indulgence far less costly within marriage and far safer outside it than ever before, and public opinion is less hostile to illicit unions and even to perversion than it has been since Pagan times. Nor is the hypothesis of "starvation" the only one we can imagine. Everyone knows that the sexual appetite, like our other appetites, grows by indulgence. Starving men may think much about food, but so do gluttons; the gorged, as well as the famished, like titillations. Here is a third point. You find very few people who want to eat things that really are not food or to do other things with food instead of eating it. In other words, perversions of the food appetite are rare. But perversions of the sex instinct are numerous, hard to cure, and frightful. I am sorry to have to go into all these details, but I must. The reason why I must is that you and I, for the last twenty years, have been fed all day long on good solid lies about sex. We have been told, till one is sick of hearing it, that sexual desire is in the same state as any of our other natural desires and that if only we abandon the silly old Victorian idea of hushing it up, everything in the garden will be lovely. It is not true. The moment you look at the facts, and away from the propaganda, you see that it is not. They tell you sex has become a mess because it was hushed up. But for the last twenty years it has not been hushed up. It has been chattered about all day long. Yet it is still in a mess. If hushing up had been the cause of the trouble, ventilation would have set it right. But it has not. I think it is the other way round. I think the human race originally hushed it up because it had become such a mess. Modern people are always saying, "Sex is nothing to be ashamed of." They may mean two things. They may mean "There is nothing to be ashamed of in the fact that the human race reproduces itself in a certain way, nor in the fact that it gives pleasure." If they mean that, they are right. Christianity says the same. It is not the thing, nor the pleasure, that is the trouble. The old Christian teachers said that if man had never fallen, sexual pleasure, instead of being less than it is now, would actually have been greater. I know some muddle-headed Christians have talked as if Christianity thought that sex, or the body, or pleasure, were bad in themselves. But they were wrong. Christianity is almost the only one of the great religions which thoroughly approves of the body—which believes that matter is good, that God Himself once took on a human body, that some kind of body is going to be given to us even in Heaven and is going to be an essential part of our happiness, our beauty, and our energy. Christianity has glorified marriage more than any other religion: and nearly all the greatest love poetry in the world has been produced by Christians. If anyone says that sex, in itself, is bad, Christianity contradicts him at once. But, of course, when people say, "Sex is nothing to be ashamed of," they may mean "the state into which the sexual instinct has now got is nothing to be ashamed of." If they mean that, I think they are wrong. I think it is everything to be ashamed of. There is nothing to be ashamed of in enjoying your food: there would be everything to be ashamed of if half the world made food the main interest of their lives and spent their time looking at pictures of food and dribbling and smacking their lips. I do not say you and I are individually responsible for the present situation. Our ancestors have handed over to us organisms which are warped in this respect: and we grow up surrounded by propaganda in favour of unchastity. There are people who want to keep our sex instinct inflamed in order to make money out of us. Because, of course, a man with an obsession is a man who has very little sales-resistance. God knows our situation; He will not judge us as if we had no difficulties to overcome. What matters is the sincerity and perseverance of our will to overcome them. I think this well sums up what is happening today. It is no different with homosexuality, we all have temptations, even different sexual ones, and it is our choice to give in or to do what God and his word asks of us. I completely agree and second your comments about young people being confused about life, and about what to do and how to be, I am 27, and I was and still am, it is a process. I grew up with parents who wanted me to be happy no matter what, it is a sweet sentiment, but I always knew if I wanted to be gay or transgender or sleep with an animal(okay that might be a stretch, but that might be what's next!) they would accept and love me. My mom was a child of 70s and in the 80s when she was in highschool her best friend was gay, by time I was 15 I believed in accepting everyone just as they were and live and let live and dont discriminate(because let's face it, that's what they call it) my parents also didn't have the greatest marriage and came from parents who didn't have the greatest marriage so they actually told us growing up, dont get married, dont feel like you have to stay with someone, people get divorced all the time now(oddly enough they're still together and happier than ever, go figure) I know why they said these things and I dont hold it against them, but it certainly did muddle up my mind. By God's grace things changed in my life(against my will in many ways) when I was 15 years old. I was not born again then, I didnt even read my bible or go to church, that is all in recent time. But I have been able to easily look back and see why everything happened and know it was God taking care of me. And one of the things that happened was the veil was lifted from my eyes and I am thankful now to read the bible and KNOW, KNOW, KNOW that I am following a divine moral guideline, and that the mantra of my ma and pa that so many have adopted today, just doesn't work, it doesn't help us growing up. It's a beautiful sentiment, to be happy and live and let live, but it doesn't work. I know it first hand, and I can watch it now. I dont 'hate' gay people, I dont hate thieves, I dont like what they do becaus God's words tell me it's wrong. And I'm sorry but it does make good old fashioned logical sense that marriage should be between a man and woman. A lock and key, either one is useless without the other. I could be really lewd here, I could state what we already know about why it's filthy and doesn't make a lick of sense physically, but then you get into all kinds of others physical perversions humans have come up with so let's not go there. What I do know is that there are men out there who have ceased being gay. I am not pretending that they never have temptation, but they choose to not be ruled by sinful longing. It can be done.
  8. yes this is my concern, I have many family members who are witnesses and did not celebrate when they were kids. and they did have issues after they grew up. I dont want to bible beat my kids or make it a heavy burden for them to bear while they're small. I know someday when they're older God willing, they'll be able to learn and understand and make the choice themselves.
  9. I am curious. I dont know if Moses had a speech impediment or was just a bad speaker, but I often feel like I need an Aaron when I talk to people. I am wanting some examples of times when you have defended the bible, what happened and how did you go about it? Thanks in advance
  10. Jude 1:10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. Jude 1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Jude 1:13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. Amen~! ~ They Pick On Brother Saul (Paul) Because IMO They Don't Dare Pick On Jesus The Christ And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Luke 4:4 For "Churched Or No", Bible Believers Just Won't Engage With Them All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 And I Think But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: John 15:26 Even God Through Paul Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. 1 Timothy 2:7 Dealt With This God-Mocking Sniping At His Apostle Before For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Galatians 6:2-8 And I Thank The LORD For His Jewish Apostle Who Spells Out His Truth To Us Helpless Gentles And I Hope To Share A Righteous Hebrew Barbeque And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession. They shall eat the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; and every dedicated thing in Israel shall be theirs. Ezekiel 44:28-29 In Jerusalem With Brother Saul And His Family Shorty And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Revelation 1:5-6 ~ Great Thread And Wonderful Stuff Jesus And Dear Brother Saul Amen brother Joe! I think Pastor Paul would take it a step further; Gal 5:12 As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves! Hallelujah! haha! They Pick On Brother Saul (Paul) Because IMO They Don't Dare Pick On Jesus The Christ never considered that, but is probably the gist of it!
  11. I wish they wouldn't. It seems to me these movies they do about the bible and Jesus do more harm than good. They don't line up 100% with the bible and there is often an undertone of how dare God allow this. What I'd like to see someone do is read a chapter out of the bible either on radio or tv and then tell people call in and tell me what you think this means. I'd watch that.
  12. Amen! I personally don't vote. When I was a waitress a customer got on me after I told him I wouldn't vote because I didn't like the choices. He said "Well it's always like that, you still gotta get out there and pick the lesser of the two evils." No, that's okay, I'd prefer to not choose either evil. As far as people not wanting to rock the boat. There are no real revivals anymore. I feel like getting a bullhorn and marching through my town. People are not set on fire for the Lord anymore. Here is an excerpt from "5 Steps to a Genuine Revival" by Ian Paisley. He is still just a man, but I like how he puts it in this particular sermon about how we cry dry prayers, and put all our energy into out recreations instead of into the Lord: "Fellow believers, we need to give an urgent consideration of our ways, top priority in our Christian life at the present time. We have a description here of the plight of the people of God in the days of the old prophet. Look at verse six. “Ye have sown much, and bring in little.” 4 Is that not true of the Christian witness of today? What activity there is. They remind me of what old Billy Sunday said, “The churches are like a canary in a cage, much activity, but no progress.” And there are many churches like that. God says, “Ye have sown much, and bring in little.” 5 And, my, we have churches today that are geared up in top gear with activity. My, the whole machinery of the church is working at full speed and force. But have they moved their town for God? Have they raised Lazaruses from the dead? That is, have the foremost sinners in their neighborhood been born again? Have they made a vital impact against the dens of iniquity and the hell holes of the devil in their community? Alas, today many of our fundamentalist churches just merely decorate a site for the denomination. And as far as a vital impact for God upon their district, it doesn’t exist. The Church of Jesus Christ was called into being to pull down the strongholds of the devil. The church of Jesus Christ was called into perpetual warfare against the powers of darkness. The Church of Jesus Christ was called to the hottest part of the conflict with the world, the flesh and the devil. But the militancy of the church is almost nil today. There is not many fighting fundamentalists left. We shun the battle. We are afraid to declare war on the enemy. Oh, we sow much, but we bring in little." http://media.sermonaudio.com/mediapdf/6723.pdf
  13. I never claimed youtube was a viable source of information. Any brainiac can get on there and see 1000 different videos by a 1000 different people saying whatever itching ears want to hear. I work from home on my pc. I enjoy listening to different things as I work. Sometimes sermon audio, sometimes youtube videos. What shocked me was typing in "apostle Paul" and the flood of anti christ, false prophet, yada yada yada. I didn't ask this to find out about the validity of the internet, I am asking about why Paul is viewed this way. I can see why this might have come up during the feminist movement. I can think of no scripture where Paul was preaching a different gospel than what Jesus did. That's why I'm asking. What is their logic?
  14. I tried to search the forum to see if anyone else had brought this up, but honestly the search mode for this site stinks. Anyway, today I tried looking up Paul on youtube to watch some documentaries or sermons on him just for info and all I see is "false prophet" "anti christ". Why is this? What is going on? Anyone else run into this and what are your thoughts?
