Are you thinking of some sort of Biblical Christian physical victory over the earth before Jesus' 2nd coming? If so, note that Daniel 12:7b shows that at Jesus' 2nd coming, he will come to a church which has been completely defeated physically by the Antichrist. For during the Antichrist's future, literal 3.5-year worldwide reign, he will be allowed to make war against the church and to overcome it physically in every nation (Revelation 13:5-10, Revelation 14:12-13, Revelation 20:4-6, Matthew 24:9-13). It is only when the Antichrist has completely broken all the physical power of the church that the future tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24 will end (Daniel 12:7b), and Jesus' 2nd coming will immediately occur, at which time he will physically resurrect and rapture (gather together) the church (Matthew 24:29-31; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8, Revelation 19:7 to 20:6). At his 2nd coming, Jesus will tread the winepress of God's wrath alone (Isaiah 63:3, Revelation 19:15-21), and so he/God will get all the glory for defeating the power of evil on the earth (Deuteronomy 32:39-43), for he/God won't share this glory with the church (cf. Isaiah 42:8-14, Isaiah 26:18). The Lord is coming for a glorious church that is already demonstrating the fullness of Christ on earth (in love, wisdom and power). We need all of these to "disciple" (and not just evangelize) the nations (tongues, tribes and kindreds). Let us follow the Lord Jesus' life with keen interest on Jesus and not just on the people he healed or delivered. We are saviours (patterned after The Saviour) out Zion (Obadiah 1:21, Joel 2:32). We have been called to pattern our lives after the Lord Jesus (That's the primary essence of the accounts of the Gospel), so that we can manifest the Love, wisdom and power He manifested and so disciple the nations. That takes a lot of dying to self... the exact thing the average man can't stand. But a few are already doing this - in love, self denial, self control, humility (doing God's will even when it is most inconvenient), giving to the word and prayers. Brethren, IT IS DOABLE (forgive my caps), For Jehovah takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to carry out vengeance on the nations and punishments on the peoples, to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with iron-bands, to carry out on them the judgment written; this is an honor for all His saints. Praise Jehovah! Psa 149:4 - 9. Sadly, but necessarily, the judgment above must begin from the house (church of God). 1Pet 4:17-18, Malachi 3:3-4, and several others. It is remnant that will come out of this purging process that God will use as battle axes to save, deliver and judge the earth (Jer 51:19-24). I beseech you brethren, to put your revelation caps on. Read beyond the letters. These old testament prophecies would have been a waste of time ans space if they weren't relevant to you and I today. Resolve to be a part of that remnant, that portion of Jacob which is not like them; the type God will choose to use as His battle Axe. The (knowledge of the) glory of God shall cover the earth (Isa 11:9, Hab 2:14). No blind spots. No excuses. We are the(potential) carriers of this glory. Make yourself ready. People all over the earth will come to us (Isa 60:3-5). The sea in verse 5 refers to people. This is the church the Lord is coming for, that Man-child company that is caught-up to the heavens. The fullness of the anti-christ, where the Woman and the remnant of her seed (not some "ragtag" beaten-down church) is after the catching up (the rapture). What we see today in operation is the spirit of the anti-christ. The Lord Jesus will still come for that church when He shall appear physically for all to see. But the Zion (Man-child) church, already caught up in rapture shall appear "WITH" Him to rule for 1,000 years. Hope I haven't started an argument here? The recent events on the world scene is no doubt a cause for worry for everyone, man and woman, old and young, christian or non-christian, African, European, Asian, Arab or Western. The terrorist activities is spreading out fast across the globe; natural disasters are on the increase and the level of moral depravity is alarming! The evil (man-against-man & man-against-God) in our societies today completely dwarfs the evil described in the biblical Sodom and Gomorrah. But God is in control. Ps. 2:1 - 5: Why do the nations rage, and the peoples meditate on a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers plot together, against Jehovah and against His anointed, saying, Let us break their bands in two and cast away their cords from us. He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; Jehovah shall mock at them. Then He shall speak to them in His anger, and trouble them in His wrath. Isa 60:1-3: Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of Jehovah has risen on you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah shall rise on you, and His glory shall be seen on you. And the nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawning. Darkness is covering the earth and gross darkness, the people (their minds, reasoning). That is why it is easy for people to not only justify but legislate into law, what is evil and inimical (both physically and spiritually) to the society. But God is not awed (men can be, but not God) by man's evil. He has seen this over and over again. God is NOT in a contest with Satan. He's fully in control of the situation. If it appears as if things are fast falling apart and the world will enter a state of Armageddon, it is because we men (as God's battle axes - Jer 51:20) aren't quick and reliable when it comes to making up our minds to give our all. The Lord Jesus tidied up His assignment within 33 years because He commited His ALL to the purpose, and NOT because He was (and still is) God. He never operated as God on earth. He was PURELY and COMPLETELY human like you and I. The scriptures quoted above (few of the many verses of their kind) refers to us - anyone who commits to God's agenda through our Lord Jesus Christ. Psalm 2 makes reference to the Son's dominion: Psa 2:7-9 I will declare the decree of Jehovah. He has said to Me, You are My Son; today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I shall give the nations for Your inheritance; and the uttermost parts of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. The Son is the Head. We are the body (of Christ, the Head). The baton is in our hands (the body) to fulfil this scripture. It is time to arise and shine (Isa 60:1) in the midst of the darkness and gross darkness. The initiative is NEVER with Darkness but with light. Darkness can thrive only when light is not shining (extinguished or covered). God is not exasperated or desperate. The devil can do only so much. A peep into history reveals a streak of failures for the devil, even when it appeared he's got it all. He killed the Lord Jesus and thought he won. But that very death was his (Satan's) doom. He scattered the disciples by persecution. But that very act led to the spread of the good news across the globe. He did everything to keep the scriptures from becoming common knowledge. But today, the bible is the highest selling book on earth. As if that isn't enough, that same knowledge of the bible is being used to ridicule the bible by vain men, with twisted minds. Intellectual arguments seem to be dislodging the truth of the scriptures. But God is winning. I speak to the 7,000 who have not (and will not) bow their kneels to Baal, arise and shine. Stand for the truth. The Lord made life hell for Satan during His days on earth. Satan actually fell like lightening from his places over the regions the Lord operated (Luke 10:18). The disciples did the same. They were described as "turning the world up-side-down" (down-side-up, actually) in the book of Acts 17:6. We can do the same. The time of the appearing of the Lord, which will be both great and terrible, is imminent: This appearing of the Lord will be both GREAT AND TERRIBLE: for it will bring BOTH blessing (like for the man at the beautiful gate (Act. 3.1-9) and punishment (like for Ananias and Sapphira (Act.5.1-11). This week, we will see how to stand when He appears. Joel 2:11 NKJV: The LORD gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; for strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the LORD is GREAT and very TERRIBLE; who can endure it? Malachi 3:1-3 NKJV: "Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," Says the LORD of hosts. (2) "But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like launderers' soap. (3) He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the LORD An offering in righteousness. These scriptures show that not all will stand when He appears: in fact many will fall. Zechariah 13:8-9 NKJV: And it shall come to pass in all the land," Says the LORD, "That two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, But one-third shall be left in it: (9) I will bring the one-third through the fire, Will refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, 'This is My people'; And each one will say, 'The LORD is my God.' " Here the scriptures reveal that two-thirds of the church will fall: be cut off and die. This does not necessarily mean they will go to hell, but will die physically, prematurely and lose some of their eternal reward: 1Corinthians 3:11-15 NKJV: For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (12) Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, (13) each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. (14) If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. (15) If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 1Corithians 5:5 NKJV: deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. God allows this, so that the remaining one-third will then be purified and refined and subsequently produce new Christians after their kind (Gen. 1.11-12) and so God will have a glorious church without spot, blemish, wrinkle or any such thing. Ephesians 5:26-27 NKJV: that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, (27) that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. To stand when He appears, we must be watching and praying ALWAYS: Luke 21:36 NKJV: "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to STAND BEFORE THE SON OF MAN."
