  1. Hey, blessings and prayers to you. Like any other here if you need to talk feel free to inbox any of us.
  2. Mostly the Scriptures and even the early Church Fathers writings are silent on this but the fact that Christ defeated death himself at the resurrection, and the raising of Lazarus he is Lord over life. It proves his divinity. Rejoice, death is defeated and as is sin. Our sins are paid and we can be one with Christ!
  3. This is a Christian forum, I assumed that was a given. To add to my statement, seeking to be content in all, thanking God for both the bad and the good for such things produces much in Christian fruit.
  4. To seek the virtue of Joy is a good thing. Often times we give in to the passion of anger or any other amd fall into dispondancy. However, joy/contentnessbis most assuredlybto be strived for.
  5. Baptism is not simple water only, but it is the water comprehended in God's command and connected with God's Word. Baptism is not simple water only, but it is the water comprehended in God's command and connected with God's Word.Christ, our Lord, says in the last chapter of Matthew: Go ye into all the world and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It works forgiveness of sins, delivers from death and the devil, and gives eternal salvation to all who believe this, as the words and promises of God declare. It is not the water indeed that does them, but the word of God which is in and with the water, and faith, which trusts such word of God in the water. For without the word of God the water is simple water and no baptism. But with the word of God it is a baptism, that is, a gracious water of life and a washing of regeneration in the Holy Ghost, as St. Paul says, Titus, chapter three: By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost, which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ, our Savior, that, being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying. It signifies that the old Adam in us should, by daily contrition and repentance, be drowned and die with all sins and evil lusts, and, again, a new man daily come forth and arise; who shall live before God in righteousness and purity forever.
  6. I am working on my undergrad, seminary requires only this and then I can go for my masters in divinity. I will be going to Concordia University St. Paul and God willing after I will be going to Concordia University Seminary in Missouri.
  7. Praise God! The next step is to get my degree, followed by going to seminary. I'm intimidated but Gods will be done, not mine.
  8. the definition of peace to a follower of Mohammad is when the entire world is in total submission to Allah and under Sharia Law. There can be no peace until that becomes reality. Agreed! However, incase you misunderstood my quote, if you re-read it I am saying the complete opposite of them being peaceful. Wasn't sure by how your post was worded. Blessings!
  9. It is FACT that Islam is a religion of peace... the first half anyway, those muslims that are considered extremists are simply following their religion in its entirety. This is the simple truth.
  10. It does not make any sense to me either.I came from a denomination which insisted that their infants were baptized. They believed that infants were not saved because they were born into sin.If they died they would not go to heaven. Historically Christian's always baptized children up until the 15th Century. We at least know this back until the 2nd Century. Also David in psalm 51 points out that he was born into sin. Jesus saying "don't deny the children to come to me" and whole households getting baptized is where the doctrine of infant baptism arise from. I believe that baptism is a means of grace, it is a promise of God with the water. Because of this promise, I baptize my children. I hope that clarifies why churches that practice infant baptism do so.
  11. Faith comes through hearing. The Holy Spirit convicts us through holy scriptures. Through the Law of God we realize we are sinners, condemned by the righteousness of God, and rightfully so! Through the Gospel we find that by faith we are saved. Faith gives fruit to righteous works. :-)
  12. I believe in Father Creator of all, Son the redeemer, and the Holy Spirit who sanctifies us and points us to Christ. One God, now and forever. He gives us means of Grace... he has reconciled us with him.
