  1. Go online to tvfool.com. you can find which OTA stations will be available to your location.
  2. Two years ago I cut the cable and put up an attic antenna for about $45. We live about 40 miles east of Dallas, TX and we get more channels than we watch. I saved about $70/month. Also, my wife likes to watch the Hallmark movies which are not found on the antenna, so I subscribed to the Hallmark channel for $60/year and stream the movies from Hallmark, and my wife has been an Amazon Prime member for several years so I purchased an amazon fire stick and we stream a lot of stuff with it. The Amazon membership is $128/year + the Hallmark membership is $60/years which adds up to $188/year; I was previously paying about $840/year for cable so that is a savings of over $650/year. Six years ago we started buying our eye glasses from an online website called Zenni. We have to get new glasses every year because of our age and the $450-$500 for a pair of glasses was getting to be a real expense for us every year so the we tried Zenni and have been happy with all of our purchases from them. We pay about $120/pair for progressive bifocals from Zenni. (NO, I don't work for Zenni.) I hated replacing the water filter on our refrigerator every 6 months at $40 each time so I purchased a by-pass filter from the manufacturer at about $40 and replaced the 6 months filter with that by-pass, then I purchased a 5 year filter at Lowes for about $35 and installed it in the water line on the back of the refrigerator. It works, and I don't work at Lowes. My wife and I use Tracfone cell phones. We don;t use a lot of data, but we do use a lot of texting. We pay $25/every 2 months +tax, and have more talk & texts than we use. Finally, 8 years ago I cancelled our home landline with a well known carrier and purchased a Home Base station from Walmart, Straighttalk Base Station for $99. Plug the cordless phone into it and we have a home landline that uses Verizon cell towers. Works great and cost only $15/month for unlimited nationwide calling + $1.69 tax, and does not required internet. It actually converts the cordless or corded home phone into a cell phone that is used only as a home landline. Save $700+ per year. Oh, that base station now costs $49 at Walmart. No, I don't work there either. Regards, John
  3. Americasfrontlinedoctors.com website is a good source if information about the vaccine.
  4. If you have trusted in the finished work of Christ on the cross for forgiveness of your sin then focus on that message instead of focusing on yourself. I find the 3rd verse of the hymn "It Is Well with My Soul" to be comforting. Goes like this: My sin oh the bliss of this glorious thought My sin not in part but the whole Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more Praise the Lord Praise the Lord oh my soul Regards, John
  5. Sparrow, I am posting a link below to my testimony. You might see some similarities in our struggles with our faith. Please read. Regards, John
  6. Believing in God means that I have peace knowing that my sins are forgiven and that my eternity is secure in the message of the cross. Believing in God is seeing my sins nailed to the cross with Jesus. Believing in God is a change from focusing on "self" efforts of trying to work up within myself a sense of "belief" to a focus on the finished work of Christ on the cross. Believing in God is a transfer of faith from me to Christ. Believing in God is seeing that when Jesus died on the cross He did all that God requires for my sin to be forgiven. Believing in God is a look in faith at the cross. Believing in God is an overwhelming relief within my troubled soul that Jesus did everything necessary for me to be reconciled to God. Believing in God means that all is well with my soul because of the finished work of His Son on the cross. Believing in God is a peace that is impossible to explain to anyone who has not found that peace for himself or herself. Believing in God is all about Jesus. John
  7. Chris, the unpardonable sin is refusing to receive the pardon for your sins that Jesus paid for on the cross. You are not saved by your feelings; but by God's grace through your faith. God doesn't require that you work up within yourself a sense of faith; He just wants you to come to Him as a sinner who needs a savior, and to ask Him to forgive your sin and to give you a new heart based on the message of the gospel. He does the forgiving, the saving, and the changing in you the moment you turn to Him even with the weakest faith if that faith is in Jesus' death on the cross & His shed blood there for the forgiveness of your sin. Your posts indicate that you recognize your need to be forgiven & that you want God's forgiveness, but you seem to think that God expects you come to Him with something other than your need. The only thing you, myself, or any unsaved person has to give God is our sin. Forget your feelings and take your need to Him. God can take your sin and give you His righteousness because of the finished work of His Son on the cross. That message is you only plea. John
  8. My favorite is "It Is Well with My Soul." John

  11. The movie is about the circumstances in Bart Millard's life that led to Bart writing the song "I can Only Imagine." I haven't seen the movie, but plan to see it soon. I live in Greenville, Texas and although I knew Bart when he was a small child and when he was in high school, I did not know the details of his childhood that led to this song & movie until I recently did some reading about the movie. John
  12. I did the same thing, and had I continued to reject Jesus in unbelief, that would have been THE sin that sent me to hell. Regards, John
  13. M My take on this is exactly what Jesus says. Unbelief is rejecting His free gift of forgiveness of sin & that rejection is unbelief. If/when a true born-again Christian doubts, that is not rejecting the pardon Jesus bought for us with His blood. Notice I'm talking about a true born-again Christian; someone who has received the free gift of forgiveness of sin from Christ. Their doubting is not unbelief. John
  14. John 8:24 " I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." Jesus paid the penalty for all of our sin except for the one sin that will send us to hell; the sin of unbelief. John
  15. Hey, JesusisLord92, you might find something in my testimony that would be of interest to you. I have listed a link to it here at Worthy if you care to read it. John
  16. No one is born-again without the work of the Holy Spirit in that person. The moment that person trusts Christ's finished work on the cross, His shed blood there, and His resurrection the Holy Spirit moves into the new believer's life.
  17. Yes, Willa, I understand that God works in people in different ways. God used scriptures to draw me to Him.
  18. The next verse, verse 45, and Romans 10:14 explain verse 44. Unbelievers can not believe the Gospel if they have not heard that message. Once a lost person hears the message of the cross, the Holy Spirit uses that message to convince that person of the truth of God Way to save them. Some choose to ignore the message, some choose to reject it, and others allow the Holy Spirit to use the message of the Gospel to accomplish His work in their life and to draw them to Christ.
  19. I agree with Kevinw. Don't know if you have children or not, but if not then you might consider getting out before children are involved. John
  20. My daughter was married to a Mormon man for 8+ years. Omegaman is right about Mormons. I learned much about that false religion during that time. My 18 year old grandson is still screwed up over the way he was treated by that man. There is more to the story, but I won't bore you with the details. John
  21. Redsteel, You might find answers to some of your questions in pastor Billy Crone's testimony of how he lived a life of drugs, Satanism, the occult, New Age, demonic spirits, complete ignorance of Christianity, hating Christians, etc. before he became a Christian. A video can be found by just doing a search for Billy Crone testimony. I am not allowed to post it here due to the length limit.
  22. Gerbilgirl, no, God does not get angry easily, and He does not want you to spend eternity in hell. God became a man, Jesus, so He could die on a cross to pay the penalty for mans' sin. He wants to forgive all your sins and give you a new life in Him, change you into His born-again child, and He wants to give you everlasting life with Him. Psalm 145:8 (KJV) The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except by me. John 6:37 (NKJV) Jesus said, “All the Father gives me will come to me and the one who comes to me I will in by no means cast out.” John 3:14-16, (AKJV) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness even so must the Son of Man be lifted up that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish , but have eternal life. (The Son of man is Jesus Christ & He was lifted up on a cross where He was crucified.) John 8:24 (KJV) I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Girbilgirl, Everyone is a sinner. Jesus is God who became a man so He could die on a cross and pay the penalty for our sins; a penalty that we could not pay. If Jesus had not paid our sin penalty for us then we would have NO way to be forgiven & then we would certainly spend eternity in hell, but He, Jesus, did pay our sin penalty for us when He died on the cross & shed His blood there for remission of our sins. He was buried in a tomb and on the third day He arose from that tomb defeating death. That is the reason He said that anyone who believes in Him has everlasting life, therefore anyone who believes in Him is forgiven of all sin, becomes a new person in Christ, & has everlasting life with Him. John 8:24 Jesus said that you, or anyone, who does not “believe” in Him will die in his/her sins. Notice Jesus said you will die in your sin because of “unbelief.” IOW, Jesus paid the penalty for all of your sins except the sin of “unbelief.” The sin of unbelief is THE sin that will send you to hell. Caution: To “believe” in Jesus means more than just believing that He exists. The devil believes Jesus exists. Actually the devil knows Jesus, but the devil can never be saved. John
  23. God's Word tells us that we are to worship God in "Spirit and in Truth." Be sure that the spirit you are hearing is the Spirit of Truth. The truth is found in God's Word.
