  1. I agree ... sometimes it's hard to correctly grasp what Jesus means. I have seen a number of people "cast out demons", only to have them return. I have come to understand that they did not cast the demons out at all, but it was a deception - which can happen to people who think they have the authority, but don't. Demons are only subject to the Lord Jesus Christ, and to the apostles of Christ to whom He gave that authority. There is an example in Acts that is quite interesting ... Acts 19 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. 18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.
  2. What is the "Bema Seat" Judgment? And what is the difference between that and the Great White Throne Judgment? I have not heard of two judgments before --- where does this concept come from? Thanx ...
  3. This text came to mind as well: 2 Cor 5 5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
  4. I really like that. It's sort of the same view I have. If Jesus lives in us, then we see life as He does with compassion, mercy, and love - because He is the Light within us, not darkness. It reminds of John 3... John 3 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
  5. Do you think there is a difference between the organized church [denominations, Calvin, Luther, etc] and the body of Christ as the church of Jesus Christ [as spoken of in Eph 2 - a spiritual habitation]? I understand that the body of Christ includes believers from all Christian religious affiliations. Are you saying that the body of Christ did not survive past the first century?
  6. What do you mean that the church is part of Israel?
  7. Hi John! I am new to the Worthy Forums and was reading through several threads when I came on this one. I am curious what you consider "Hebrew Roots" to be as part of the Gospel. I have read your posts a few times and am not grasping where you are coming from. Can you please clarify? Thanx!
