  2. Hi brother, If attempting to reach out to the pro-choice community is causing more stress than is tolerable and you still feel the need to minister to them, do so with much prayer and consideration before you share the love of Christ with them. Should you currently find this impossible, step back and renew what you feel called to do in witnessing for Him. This group including the LGBT are two of the most difficult to minister to in the world as we know it. How you approach them will either open the door for you or cause it to slam into your face if you lack the necessary discernment. Pro-militants run rampantly here, so approach with all due caution. Realize what you're stepping into. These two worlds in particular are some of the most common and destructive land minds existing that we as Christians are familiar with. Use wisdom at all cost. God bless. Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  3. The primary focus on my post was explaining in spite of our known or unfamiliar doctrinal points of contention they were not on the discussion board of topics. Not when it was an interdenominational gathering, and they were far more common then comparatively speaking. Addressing doctrinal issues can be explained optimally at a home church if you have one. Most were conducted as bible studies.
  4. I couldn't help but notice you are of the Catholic faith, Mark. Having the good pleasure of being well acquainted with countless Charismatic Catholics over the years, not one of them ever displayed evidential symbolic flames being indicative of the very first mass witness account concerning the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Of course, it was also the last thing I would have expected as well. Perhaps that contributed to a continual thought contemplation towards that as well.
  5. Well my heart's in the Highlands wherever I roam. That’s where I’ll be when I get called home. The wind, it whispers to the buckeyed trees in rhyme. Well my heart’s in the Highlands. I can only get there one step at a time. I’m listening to Neil Young, I gotta turn up the sound. Someone’s always yelling turn it down. 6. I've seen others post daily scriptures and short devotionals when scanning similar Christian forums.
  7. Everything seems to be in order here on my end of it. The new added touches are now making the top bar similar to the older design. Some things I no longer see are who of present online and if a member is logged in when you are attempting to convey back and forth live. Our little green dot light on/off is gone, so you are never sure unless checking more into their profile status. I'm also having overall better visual view. The only thing I dearly miss is font choices. Loved that Georgia bold!
  8. Thank you George, for making good touch up improvements for the site! This is much better. God bless you, brother!
  9. Indeed! Well said, bro! Coming in on dangling ends of any thread here on Worthy is not a recommended way of viewing over all topic and content quality. There are numerous gems here. Personal commentaries, memories, great thoughts from many members, tremendous lyrics and some pretty decent pics if I do say so myself. A lot of work went into this and other musical topics and entertainment subjects in this particular portion of the forum. Definitely worth reading through if not simply skimming for various points of interest. This is one of the best!
  10. Many from The Jesus People Movement became disillusioned by the fact that following salvation and baptism of the Holy Ghost was more than just getting "high on God". Some shallow believers even touted this on the streets as homebrew evangelists. How I remember them. I'd like to think and trust not all of us myself included, ever bought into that murky gospel and continued on for Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life, just like He intended. But, there was also a fall-away too. Countless, perhaps.
  11. It is the ultimate goal of the Graham Crusade Ministry. I would say the hopeful answer would be an affirmative yes. Please re-read my post. How many are variable of course. Track records speak for themselves. Baby Christians sometimes in many cases continue being so for the remainder of their lives, never truly understanding that decision for Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.
  12. Not to say Reverend Graham was a "Solomon" or anything like that. It does remind me that having been the what we understand as the wisest man that was blessed by God, turned to heathenism in his latter dying days. Perhaps it was because he took that blessing for granted and mixed with too many godless wives and concubines. Nearly one thousand? That's taking advantage and more than a little bit. It did cost him the faith he had in the Lord. 13. Yeah, I can't argue the fact that Billy Graham did push the envelope and stepped over the line with a bit too much compromising when ascertaining who outside of true Christianity, then making the call on who was saved thinking themselves righteous enough outside of Christ and being equivalent of to being born again. Surmising false gods as our Father in Heaven is a tough call to make and I think it's possible, but not probable. God's word is clear and yes, there were times Reverend Graham diluted the gospel of his calling. I can't say it outshadowed all the true experiences of salvation he did bring to the world. Does it outweigh that? No, I don't think so. But, it is my own personal opinion having been and served on his team as an usher/counselor at one of his week-long crusades.
  14. Schuller isn't even on the same plain of Graham when it comes to Christianity. He and his Crystal Cathedral Church was similar to the format of the more modern, updated, new and improved, hansom and good looking, Joel Osteen. This is "feel good religion". It's nice and there's nothing wrong with the positive things of faith in Christ. But, when the rubber meets the road and the breaks give out, plus one of the tires goes flat, all that mush flies right out the window. This is NOT being anchored to the Rock.
  15. Internet INFORMATION is not always indicative of evidential FACTS. There's literally thousands of differing viewpoints depending on the publisher and who implements it. Just because it's available isn't always equivalent of TRUTH. We need to consider what we glean when it comes to these resources. You may or may not have heard the term, "buyer beware". When it comes to the internet it is, "user be wary".
  16. What do you think about the decrease in Christianity and increase in atheism in the US? Good question. Do you feel it differs to anything substantial elsewhere around the world? Speaking of that, how is the level of faith in Christ Jesus in YOUR little corner of the planet? Allow me step more forward into your circle with another question. WHO is Jesus to you?
  17. Must have been one of those "Freudian Slips" and subconscious puns. This just now gave me a lol. Thanks! haha!
  18. Okay, since the Billy Graham topic is totally out of the sphere in the convo, just a little highlighter for you on how Mormonism has a false Jesus which means false Christianity. You do have a good eye for the falsehood of the Jehovah's Witnesses, however. Not half bad. Here's a little reading material of sources for you. 19. As I mentioned, if you wish continuance of terminology dissections outside of the topic continue on without me. Or not. No, wait. Let me allow you the win. You're 100% right and I'm 100% wrong. There. Are you happy now? And have a nice day!
  20. If you want to begin splitting hairs with the side topic here, do you think that Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians? It wasn't many decades ago when they rang your doorbell and asked if they were, they were adamant in stating they were NOT Christians. Now they do? You be the judge on that one and give me a jingle. We'll chat Christian cult history back and forth. I've been around a lot of years.

  22. I'm not saying Graham and others like Oral Roberts, Pat Robertson, etc. aren't diluted in some ways. There are even some old commercials featuring Pat Boone doing advertisements for the Unitarians. The Unitarian Church, Church of Christ Scientist, and Scientologists, are also classed as "universalists".
  23. This is commonly referred to as, "in-and-out surgery" due to the fact there are no real needs for a hospital stay if it's not really necessary. If post operative care is available in the home with needed support, an overnight stay can avert insurmountable insurance costs. Since we have no socialized medicine in the United States, some rooms can run into many thousands of dollars a day. Going home to recover is a good option to keep the cost down for the surgical procedure. P.S. (added) The new laser procedure for spinal surgery can be done without the traditional scalpel method, which is minutely invasive. If successful, this means a tiny area is used for the incision and in many instances does not even require stitches. Good results mean you can return home the same day.
  24. Dear little Sister Figure-of-eighty, You are probably one of our younger members I've gotten to know inasmuch it is possible to do online since you've joined Worthy's forum two years ago. We alike in a couple of things. I'm an old dude, but you and I are going through some tremendously difficult times right now. You in your youthful years and I in the twilight of mine. It seems we're both pretty familiar with one another as well. Anyway, there are a few here I look over with tremendous concern and compassion as kind of an uncle in the Lord if you will. I think it would be the best to keep your word in spite of your father's hateful attitude and the fact you're being financially taken for granted. You are living in with your family still. Having a baby at such an age put a lot of responsibilities you weren't ready for, but took the right path in not making bad choices concerning bringing life into this world. Raising a child in today's world isn't easy under the best of circumstances and without a positive father in the picture. There were and are some very difficult roads still ahead for you. Please don't go back on what is your promise to take your father to and from his surgery. You won't regret it even if he lacks true appreciation for doing this for him. Obviously there wasn't anyone else he can depend on or he wouldn't have asked you. Your folks know you are Christian and are saved, so keeping your word is an essential witness to them. If you go back on that now, it only gives both your parents ammo against the faith and could deter a future decision in life both of them desperately need. That is Jesus Christ and His salvation. Do this for the Lord, not for your dad. Love in Christ, Beau
  25. I had to look this up being unfamiliar to what this day of celebration pertains to. Comparatively speaking, it seems quite a bit better than getting out old vinyl LP pressings of the hard rock band, Black Sabbath onto the turntables of their stereo systems. Reformation Day - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reformation_Day Reformation Day is a Protestant Christian religious holiday celebrated on 31 October, alongside All Hallows' Eve (Halloween) during the triduum of Allhallowtide, in remembrance of the onset of the Reformation. According to Philip Melanchthon, 31 October 1517 was the day German monk Martin Luther nailed his Ninety-five Theses on the door of the All Saints' Church in Wittenberg, Electorate of Saxony in the Holy Roman Empire.
