  1. I don't see how that is changing anything according to the Word, since that is in the bible.
  2. Intersesting. I believe that.
  3. I wonder if one preached to the monetary poor that they would have a bigger inheritance than any on earth, they would be more receptive to it.
  4. This has always been a verse that brings questions it seems. I guess I asked it that way to see if anybody had any strong convicted beliefs on it. Seems like nobody really does. It is a tough question. But if you do have convicted beliefs on it, go ahead and share, but not like you have to teach.
  5. I believe that, but I don't believe they all embrace it. Look other countries where they lived for years without being jihads. Saudi Arabia is strict with regard to women, hence their religion, and in recent years been allowing the women to have their own businesses. And something else I don't recall. But why would some even WANT to come to America. I agree whole heartedly that muslims in America need to be observed with caution, but it would be against our constitution to not allow them to come here. So what can we do? I confess I am only a little educated on this subject, but I do have a knack for the obvious. Now I am ready for a big blast against my post, and my uneducated foolishness or wishful thinking. But seriously, they don't all embrace it. Don't even read their own Koran.
  6. Seems to be now that Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump are winning in recent state elections? Neither who are christians. Donald Trump with congress may get thing done, but when you look at Kings in the bible, didn't God save the nation with the God fearing Kings? Actually, I am not 100% postive with them ahead in recent elections, but I have been hearing that on the radio which is turned down a little too low. But that doesn't change the rest of my post.
  7. 'In everything therefore, treat others as you want them to treat you, for this is the law and the prophets.' I asking for your responses in here as to explain how you want people to treat you. I wonder if everybody is at least a little different in their expectations of how they want others to treat them. Would you be so kind as to explain how YOU like to be treated? As for myself, I want others to overlook my faults or perceived (or actual) offenses, and love me anyway. (I know this is a forums, but I'm mainly talking about real life). I want to be treated with respect, just as important as the next person. Actually, it seems like respect is a biggy. And I of course have not treated others up to God's standards either as we are all sinners. Yes, we are all created by God, each one fearfully and wonderfully made, so I want to strive to love and respect others more. But you can't show 'love' in the sameway to everyone, so loving them would repecting them. It has many descriptions. I only started because I really am curious as to what others want, not because I am expecting from others in here. Now after all that, I am going to held to higher standards when I post in here.

    Matthew7:7-8

How would you 'teach' this to people if you were up at the pulpit teaching? Now I ask it this way for a reason. 'Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to. For everyone who asks recieves, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.'
  9. Since everything is I heard this, I heard that, who says even that is not possible?
  10. That link doesn't work anymore. I have heard they have the old testament, and believe in the God the father (not stated that way), but believe Jesus was on earth, but not as a savior. So people are essentially saying is they believe Islam believes there is that one almighty God. I always believed this too, but then you hear more reports and they are different. I really should talk to a muslim in person someday and ask myself. That actually is a scary thought to me to do that.
  11. Good answers and knowledge and profitable, thanks. Yet still wondering about more about what people look like sinking. Maybe me yesterday, come to think of it. Reacting, instead of praying and clinging to God in a situation in which I needed to endure. And let me tell you, what I did was not good.
  12. I am looking for examples of this in real life, as to Peter beginning to sink when he looks at the wind and the waves. I am looking for an example, and details as to what it looks like when a person sinks. Is it emotional basket case-ism? Does one turn to drugs or alcohol, or what does one do when they 'sink.'
  13. Question: "How is a woman’s desire for her husband a curse (Genesis 3:16)?" Answer: As God pronounces judgment on Eve for her part of the transgression in Eden, He says, “Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you” (Genesis 3:16). This verse causes some puzzlement. It would seem that a woman desiring her husband would be a good thing, and not a curse. The Hebrew phrase in question does not include a verb and is literally translated “toward your husband your desire.” Since this judgment is predictive, the future tense verb “will be” is added for clarity: “Your desire will be for your husband.” The most basic and straightforward understanding of this verse is that woman and man would now have ongoing conflict. In contrast to the ideal conditions in the Garden of Eden and the harmony between Adam and Eve, their relationship, from that point on, would include a power struggle. The NLT translation makes it more evident: “You will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.” God is saying that Eve would desire to rule over her husband, but her husband would instead rule over her. Replacing the mutually interdependent relationship the Lord had created was a desire for one spouse to lead the other. Sin had wrought discord. The battle of the sexes had begun. Both man and woman would now seek the upper hand in marriage. The man who was to lovingly care for and nurture his wife would now seek to rule her, and the wife would desire to wrest control from her husband. It is important to note that this judgment only states what will take place. God says that man and woman will live in conflict and their relationship will become problematic. The statement “he shall rule over you” is not a biblical command for men to dominate women. In the New Testament, God affirms His ideal relationship between man and woman in marriage. Christ-like qualities are emphasized. What the curse of sin created, believers in Christ are called to correct by living according to God’s Spirit. Ephesians 5: says that the wife should willingly submit to her husband’s authority in the home, in essence, refusing to scratch the curse-fueled itch to seize control (verses 22-24). Husbands are to love their wives unconditionally and sacrificially, just as Christ loves the Church (verses 25-30). The whole passage begins with an emphasis on mutual submission to one another: “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ” (verse 21). From the beginning, God’s focus has been love and respect between husband and wife. Though sin has tainted the original beauty of this relationship, God commands believers in Christ to pursue this ideal relationship between husband and wife, an ideal perfectly illustrated in Christ’s relationship with the Church. This was on gotquestions.org
  14. Genesis 3:16 So after the fall, Eve got cursed. 'I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth, In pain you will bring forth children, yet your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.' So this, 'your desire will be for your husband' part. So what does this really mean? I mean, doesn't a husband have the desire for his wife, too? Obviously, so I do not understand this part. I'm wondering if the Greek shows something slightly different.
  15. Would somebody please bring up the topic of evolution within what has already been created?
  16. I have to disagree that self denial is not something we do. In my experience, it is partially God given desires, but who can claim suddenly the flesh disappeared and we no longer have desires and thoughts of the flesh we have to put away and take our thoughts captive? I personally really have no idea what you are arguing about.
  17. I consider reading the bible out loud for many hours a soaking session. One day I read the bible all day out loud and still felt all peaceful the next day. Nice.
  18. Very true. Being in active serious churches to have fellowship with like minded believers is a good way to help because we end up encouraged and accountable. So much easier trying to live a 'holy' life when your around others that are trying to live that way too. Then you can openly talk about your faith and they get it.

    John 24-25

If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they both seen and hated Me and My Father as well. But they have done this to fulfill the word that is written in their Law, 'They hated me without a cause.' 'They hated Me without a cause.' That is what I have often wondered when it says in other verses how in for instance in John 7:7 'The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it, that it's deeds are evil.' --Well, that is a cause, so how does He say it is without a cause? Is He talking about a ligetimate cause? Is a ligetimate cause a righteous cause?
  20. Just throwing in a couple cents here, there is also that scripture that says, as sinnersaved talked about ( but not the actual scripture), 'those who are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.' (Romans).
