The Quran is a more violent book than the Bible
AnythingIsPossible replied to PetriFB's topic in General Discussion
Your posts seem detached from reality, of course people want truth but when someone expresses an opinion, and moreover clearly states it is an opinion, then what do you see as 'untruth' about asking for a clarification of that opinion ? Sorry jeff, at least to me you are making no sense at all. AIP -

Again, what on earth are you on about ? 'other one ' expressly stated it was their opinion QUOTE: 'I can safely say that it is my opinion that you are either very uninformed or just don't have a grasp on reality' Now if you could perhaps explain how your post relate to my reply to other one ? -

Your comment seems entirely unrelated to my post, and how does it relate to anyone's grasp of reality.. in your opinion of course ? -

I'm not even sure if it even matters or what the point is really, the amount of violence implied or otherwise has no bearing on whether something is true or not. If the Quran were fill of rose petals and nice stories wouldn't make it true, just nice. -

No.. paper and metal cannot be evil, evil takes intent. The love of money (over the Lord) however can lead to all kinds of sin.

You are not alone... It's great stuff, I am fascinated by things like this my only regret in life at all is that I wasn't born in an era of fast space travel. Maybe one day trips to Pluto will be common I always have this dream that mankind was meant to expand into the stars and populate the universe, but that sin held us back I do not want humankind in it's current state to pollute the universe with sin. I will find out soon what the truth about the Lord's purpose in such a big universe is I'm sure Andy

Because we love them and dearly miss them, they have become part of our lives and it creates a void in us. Same for instance when my daughter left to go to university, she was excited about starting a new life looking forward excitedly to her new adventures. I took her to university she is leading a very happy life and I see her often but miss her dearly. I know that it's best for her to go seek her own path and I know she is very happy but what Father ..or Mother would simply forget they had a child and move on. I'm sure many people could give many more examples.. goodness i even miss people when they are on holiday sometimes, even though I know they are having a great time !! I'm a bit mystified about how anyone could even serioulsy ask such a question, seems obvious to me. Andy

It just is, you don't have to say anything, but I know what you mean, maybe one day they will manage to fit the whole alphabet in !!

In the U.K the Church of England cannot marry same sex couples, it was legislation designed to protect the church from civil law suites, even under European law. In her statement to the House of Commons on 11th December on the Government's proposals for Equal Marriage, the Secretary of State said: "because the Church of England and Wales have explicitly stated that they do not wish to conduct same-sex marriages the legislation will explicitly state that it would be illegal for the Churches of England and Wales to marry same-sex couples. Mr Speaker, this provision recognises and protects the unique and Established nature of these churches. The church's canon law will also continue to ban the marriage of same-sex couples. Therefore, even if these institutions wanted to conduct same sex marriage, it would require a change to primary legislation at a later date and a change to canon law. Additional protection that cannot be breached." It is unclear though how this affects other churches, we will have to wait for a test case to see I suppose. Andy

I hope the perfume was worth it, sadly experience tells me that things which come in war shaped bottles are rarely top class perfumes ! -
